Battery issue - HTC Desire S

My Desire S takes 5hr for normal charge, but if i take out my battery after a 4hrs of charge and put it back on it shows me 100% charging with green light, can some one explain me that,I am also getting sick of this 5hr of charging is there any way to improve charging time?

This is the THIRD thread you have started about EXACTLY the same thing.

Buy a new battery, it does wonders for the charging and screen time
I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.

Your Battery is old and needs replacing, simple. If you wanted any other suggestions then opening more threads isn't going to achieve that, if anyone had any other suggestion then they would have answered in your first thread. Filling the forum with useless repeat threads is only going to get you silly answers, flamed and generally ignored.

And people wonder why I get frustrated at XDA nowadays

Some people are really thick, its beyond funny.
How do you expect some software tweak is going to improve charging times of your battery?
If it isn't lasting long enough as before, simply you need a new battery, are you too thick to realize that?

Dear Fellow members my cell phone is new, my brother has brought it from U.K to Pakistan,so there is no hardware fault as much as i know,i just needed a utility kind of app which can turn off all the power consuming apps on my phone, i didn't asked for a faster charging app,as the same i asked in previous threads also...

1. Dont open same multiple topic, this place is cluttering up.
2. Have u tried a different battery?
ya so u say it is new, so ur new phone needs a 'special app' to do what other phones are able to do without such app, that is charge normally?
so it's software issue? sounds very unlikely doesn't it. Try a different charger/battery and tell us how it goes.
Software can't fix hardware issue.

I have consult an expert and confirmed that my battery condition is ok, I have tried to charged it with Samsung 4.7v charger and it took approximate same time to charge at full, I have recently installed the SAGA3d rom and it also didn't effect the charging time, I have consulted HTC about that they said that its a normal time to charge and they advised to turn off all power consuming app to make charge faster, can you please tell what is your charging time of Desire S?

My house has 2 ds, 1 is rooted which is mine the other is not, mine takes 7 hours from 10 to 100%, before this it only took appox 2 hours, which is the charge rate.
I have a habit or charging it from low to full, and yet this problem occur, my mom has a habit or charging whenever she feels like, and yet no problem
How it happened, no idea.
Is it a rom issue? no
Is it charger? no, i have 2 htc charger and 1 samsung, all the same.
Have i tried wipe, yes, but still no fix. Tried a few on the market, even in recovery.
The charge rate starts to slow at 50-55%, if u look at the graph, and starts to speed up at 91%.
Is it the port, very unlikely, but possible.
Is it the batt, very likely, why havent i tried changing it, because i have no money. And because i just charge when ever it gets low, which is usually the time i sleep.
So when ppl tell me to chg the battery i dont say it is silly. Unless i test it out, then i can rule out battery and say my battery is fine.
ps : basically what ppl here are telling u is, it is ur battery problem, and u called it "silly"? Makes u look silly doesnt it.
ps2 : and there is no app here to help u charge faster, and dun expect ppl to google for u

Charging time of my new 5 day old battery from empty to full is about 2-2.5 hours, my old battery took up to 5 hours for a full charge, this is the same regardless of the rom I'm using, I'm a flashaholic so I've tried on many roms over the last few days, the condition of my old battery was good according to the many apps out there(not that i put much stock in them) only when i brought a new battery did this improve. I would consider the people on this forum more expert than most "experts" I've come across and certainly more qualified than htc customer support who generally only read from a pre written flow chart and know very little about the workings of a phone

Bottom line is you can't or won't accept the possibility that it could be a problem, the only way to disprove the possibility is of you actually purchase one and try it.

We like to help each other out in this forum, we don't really have any trolling issues. But we also don't appreciate being called silly or idiots, yet we've managed to keep it petty cool. If the op wants help them he should really listen to what is being said, if he tries a new Battery then I've no issue trying to help with anything else he had issue with. Help me destroy my phone!

Hey everyone,
I have an Eten M700 Glofiish which I've purchased with an extended warrenty.
My warranty is about to end here and I want to get my phone replaced before it does, so I can have a new phone
In order to get it replaced I need to break something on my phone that proves to be unrepairable. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what I can do?
I has hoping to, in someway burn my processer. It's a samsung, not sure how to go about this. Remembe I can break multiple things
All I know about the "repair" is that it will be done from www.pocketpctechs.com

Heh. Check on their website (willitblend.com?) and find "will it return".
Anyway I suggest magnets, high voltage charge (homemade straight-to-phone wall charger), static chocks, water (might leave evidence...) or anything that damages the insides without leaving traces of abuse.
If you wanna have fun, there's the microwave
hahahaha thats for the will it blend thing. But I was hoping to like seriously overclock the processor til the extent it burns out, dies, ect.
Any overclocking apps working on Eten's?

Strange solution about CM5.0.7-t1's battery bug

I am now using test-1 without battery problem.
Yesterday I upgraded to test-2 but the connection problem never fix even I pushed the old libhtc_ril.so back.
Thus, I want to restore to test-1.
1. I first flash the test-1 rom
2. flash the gapp
3. nandroid restore to test-1 image
4. flash the test-1 rom and gapp again
This fixed the problem, I have been staying at 99% for 1.5 hours.
I don't know if the steps above really fix it but I only did these and finally using test-1 without battery problem
Lol so let me get this straight, u flashed the rom, extracted nandroid images and essentially replace those same files with another copy, then reflashed the rom. Where in this do you see the battery resolution lies ?
I think you wiped your battery stats and thats why you're noticing an improved battery life.
Other than that if im missing something please enlighten because the 4 steps could be replaced with one step. NANDROID ONCE.
Does this make sense to anyone? I don't get it lol, I don't see the solution at all. It's basically nearly the same as flashing test1 (without your nandroids and stuff) and your battery probably hasn't refreshed yet. Just because it has lost 1% in 1.5hrs, doesn't mean it'll last 150 hours. (Hopefully my math didn't fail there!)
Corroboration?
Has anyone else tried this? I'm at work, but I can try it when I get home, or maybe on my lunch break.

I confirm the above method also works with Bart backup, 1:30 after the battery is down to less than 1% having used a little video, yesterday in the night before, she fell 70%.
I thank you because it works on my G1.
Sorry for my bad English
so lemme get this right you went back to test 1 to do this, then reinstalled test 2 or just left test 1 on there?

My apologies for not putting the "known" into a cute, cuddly teddy bear, wrapping it up into a box with a big pretty pink bow on top. Then handing it to you and wishing you the best of time in life.
Sorry, I'm telling you like it is. If you followed cyanogen, or just about any other important dev, or even did some searching, this problem was already address a while back, and had a solution (as per the one I just gave you). So, I continue to tell you, and the rest of the people who are indeed, idiots, that they are, in the hopes that one day they will rise up, stop scratching their heads, and realize they are in fact, and idiot.
Now I feel that if I do this enough, maybe the rest of the world will get their thumbs out of their asses and actually make some kind of the change in the world instead of constantly looking for invalid solutions, an asking questions that have already been answered. I put a donation button their for the people who get this, and are not idiots. So thanks for pointing out your own stupidity, you saved me a hell of a lot of work.

In my opinion, Booker-T is just sharing his experience on how he got his battery to operate normally. There's no reason you should be calling everyone above your first reply idiots. Personally, I tried the battery recalibration fix off the Cyanogen Wiki with both test1/test2 with no success. There's a 30 minute drive between my house and the University I attend and my battery has gone down from 97% (when I backed out of my garage) to 82% (when I parked on campus).
I'm not trying to complain about my battery issue because I will find a solution soon enough, but rather address your rudeness to the other members. I've read thorough the Cyanogen 5.0.7 thread on this forum and on several others and from what I've seen, there's numerous people that say recalibrating their battery did not solve the problem for them.
Now before you go on to make another post about how we're all idiots, I advise you take a step back and think about the context of the situation: you're calling us idiots because recalibrating the battery didn't work in our cases and Booker-T shared the way he fixed his.
What worked for me was....
turning off the battery percentage display through spare parts. After I did that, my battery life pretty much went back to what it was pre 2.1 on my G1.
Sometimes there is no single solution to a problem. The last time I recalibrated my battery was when I first got this dinosaur of a phone last year.
You're all idiots by the way. j/k
Correct me if i'm wrong but I don't see how that is really accomplishing anything. Flash Test1, then gapps, then nandroid, then restore. I unplugged 7am this morning and am still @93% with light use.
Recalibrate your battery's people.

Greetings and such...

Greetings everyone!
I've been doing massive 'net research on rooting my MT4G, and the one site that kept popping up was this one. So, I read the 'what to do..' thread and will discover my chipset and such later (my place of employment is (barely) on a 2G network). I've had my phone for 13 mos now without too many problems, running Go Launcher as opposed to Sense, and the Go sms.
Looks like I have some reading to do here, and hopefully with 13 mos or so with this phone I'll be able to lend some advice back.
One thing that troubles me is that in the last few months, I've noticed an increase in the 'Recovered from an abnormal reset' messages. I haven't read everything yet, but if anyone can lend an idea on this one, I would be most appreciative.
Thanks,
Skeebs
Welcome. Thanks for doing research. I'm not sure what to tell you about the "recovered from abnormal restart" message. A factory reset might be what you need. Ideas anyone?
You're probably right on the factory reset. I've been pondering that one for a while, and have just been a little lazy about it. Then again I might hold off until I'm decided on whether to root or not, which won't take long either.
That's understandable. One thing you may want to do is root, and then use something like Titanium Backup to backup any important program data you have like gamesaves, settings, etc. Remember though that the more you restore, the better chance you have of causing the problem, or even a new one, all over again.
I like this guy. He doesn't ask stupid questions and uses the thanks button.
And take it from someone who did the HTC unlocking update to unlock your bootloader... PLEASE dont go that route.. if you choose to root, do it with the methods here, they are far too simple, something I realized only after i did the HTC official unlocking method. Use this site for everything you do to ur phone..

My wife and I both have the "bad" emmc. Both are rooted. Both are over a year old. Both work. Your chance of bricking early is statistically higher. But I wouldn't worry about it. I've rooted 3 MT4G's using gfree. None have had issues.

I have the bad one as well, Ive flashed at least 10 roms in the last couple weeks...but ive always been a risk taker...also, there are others that are more knowledgeable than i am, that believe the "bad chip" is overrated. I don't know either way..

I guess the good news is that I still carry the insurance. If something goes terribly wrong, I could always have the wife back the Camry over it....
Not to mention, if this chip was going to fail, I tend to think it would have already. I worked outside every day last year in an extremely brutal heatwave, streaming music, quick recharging in a hot black truck, etc. I've pushed this thing further than I thought it could go and it hasn't failed yet (save the battery, I had to replace it after the summer).
The rewards outway the risks, so I shall drive on. Thanks for your feedback!
I kinda have that excited tingly feeling that I had before I built my first pc back in the late 90's...

I also had a Mt4g with the "bad chip" there is some truth to the name. After probably 30 flashes she had enough and just stopped booting. However I am very hard on my phones. So pick a ROM you like and stick with it and you'll be fine.

Hey hey, hold on
Have you read other threads about G-Sensor problems, and actually try what they suggest ? Take a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699450
And many other posts...
I know it's for a different model, but you never know...

Of course I've don and i've tried everything I could, but it's broken. And actually I don't think HTC magic sensors have mucho to do with sensation ones, I think it does not have gyroscope...
Being new in this page does not make me a fool.
I'm gonna send it in half an hour, I just want to know if the sensors are located in the battery door.

Hey calm down
Nobody said you're a fool. You just didn't mention anything about "things that you tried". No, they're not located in the battery door.

some hox questions

hey,
so which kernel/goveneur/shedeuler/rom is best setup for this phone for accu saving + performance
and can i place the hox+ battery in the hox without problems? Is the change matchable for a smartphonemonkey? Do ineed any specal equiment for it?
Asking which ROM/kernel is best isn't allowed, to say one is better infers that the others are inferior in some way. This is disrespectful to the devs who spend their spare time bringing us this software, and free of charge. It comes to personal taste anyway, what one person loves, the next person might not like. Test a few and you'll soon find out what is best for you. Battery life is the same as each user has different usage of their device. I've seen at least a couple of people who have transplanted One X+ batteries in the Evita.
PS. Questions go in the q&a section, for future reference.

but for some models are kernel and rom overviews with pro and contras
how about the battery change?

I have no idea what you just said. And I answered your battery question in my first reply.

if your gonna be disrespectful then dont ask this thread cann be closed. And he did answer
nooo i asked completly other questions
i make it short
Whats ur fav. rom/kernel for the hox
is the hox+ battery completly compatible with normal hox ? And is the change of battery easy for myself or better let it do repair service for lot of €
Which equiment i buy for Handy repair?
Which repair toools from ebay (location must be europe for shipping) i found lot for 1€ but dunno is they work and be good
do i need any new cables after change or new fictions i also ask for all repair works can also be display or something or can i just change it and turn it back in return way??
I answered you already. That question is not allowed on here and I explained why, therefore that question will not be answered, by anyone. It's up to you to have a look at the available ROMs and their features, then test a few and work out what you like. That's half the fun anyway.

and u again answered the half
Do some research and find some mobile phone repair tools, it really can't be that hard can it?

If you have never taken apart a smartphone or similar device, it can be pretty tricky. There is a lot of potential to damage the phone, both cosmetically and its basic functionality (such as breaking a ribbon cable). Some folks are quite skilled at it, and can do so easily. Personally, even though I am decently good with my hands and fixing things, and very good at following instruction, have still decided that I am simply now good at taking apart smartphones, and do more harm than good.
To each his own. But just keep in mind that unless you are very confidant in your skills, it can get ugly real quickly.
This thread will give you some examples of how a do-it-yourself job can go wrong: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696552
and a battery change is also tricky or more simple?
Same story, you need to pretty much disassemble the whole phone to change the battery, and apparently the gain in battery life isn't that much anyway.

Yup, anything that involves opening the phone is going to be tricky, and has the potential to get messy. So basically, any type of part replacement. The device is simply not intended to be opened by the average consumer, if you just look at how its constructed. If you got the skills and are careful, it can be done. But for the average person, you will do more harm than good.
I had a feeling this joker didn't have our phone.
