I know that Sebastian's kernel provides this function, but what about Showp's? Is there any way to make bricked suport it, or has anyone tried modding bricked to support usb otg?
I love bricked battery life and sweep to wake

if sweep2wake is indeed ....the only cause that you didnt went to seb's kernel ..try grogg's kernel ..in his ROM thread ..the kernel he compiled just has SEB's + sweep2wake + USB fast charge
BTW if using viper rom ..then its absolutely fantabulous ...im using the same kernel with viper for past month or so
seems like he removed them ..
i got the kernel uploaded here..if you want

You can turn on sweep to wake in most kernels by using kernel tuner. Just go to misc. Tweaks and scroll down you will see where it will say sweep to wake off. Simply turn it on from there. I hope this is helpful to you. I too like sweep to wake and I discovered this function the other day! Super easy. Hope this helps.: )

As long as kernel doesn't support it.. It won't work... In kernel tuner.. Its just a switch... If the kernel actually has s2w then the switch works.. Otherwise it won't

im on ARHD 3.6.2 ,
after couple of minutes of playing games but phone is super hot i mean i cant even touch the bottom part of the phone (where the home button etc is at)
anyway i know there are some solutions or think there are solutions ,
i would like to know which one you think is the best?
solutions that i think will help:
1. run the patch to down clock to 1.2 - in mike's first post
2. run the thermal patch on faux kernel's thread
3. change my kernel to bricked kernel
also i got anker battery if its important.
if you have other suggestions it will be really good to hear them out.
I ran the thermal patch and it has worked pretty well for me. I haven't had my phone get as hot as you were describing earlier however, it was uncomfortable to hold even through my case.

The faux kernels and patch is based on HTC source code for the above patch. The patch you want to use for CM7 can be found at the link below.

you guys might want to download faux clock apk to help with the manual set up of the kernel specs.
just a suggestion. always helps to know exactly what your working with and be in control. its a little more detailed than say oc daemon.
side note: remember to try and uninstall if you have issues in the future trying to flash new kernels.
i will give a try to the thermal patch..
but i dont holds to much hope for it to work...
unless it some miracle patch
my phone getting really hot.. its really weird what is the reason
Would this patch work on the stock kernel?

What setup do you have? Currently I'm running Android Revolution HD 4.1.3 with faux kernel 0.2.2 beta 2 and I am getting no heat problems like I was when I was running 0.2.1 final. I also have amaze camera, modified bootanimations, EQS, APM, custom battery icon, and the 4G symbols added on. Only thing I did was switch my kernel. The patch helped with the 0.2.1 final faux kernel some but not as much as I would have liked so I switched kernels. I would recommend giving this kernel a try. Link below

No need to cool it down.
If it gets that hot, there is a problem with either sw or hw, it's not normal. So instead of healing symptoms you should look for a cause.
i cant think of any cause,
as my phone worked great before i rooted it and installed ARHD
after i got mike's Rom each time (no matter which version) i ran a game (most likely angry birds) for more then 10 min the phone start to get really really hot.
so.. any ideas? its must be a rom issue which need to be fixed but i got no clue what to do next

Mike's ROM over clocks the CPU and that can result in generating a lot of excess heat. Use the Daemon to put the CPU back to the wake max setting of 1188000.

Go into settings and turn off power saver and that should fix that. I had the same problem and I have discovered when you have power saver turned on it won't let you use the camera when the battery is @ 30% and no you don't need to be rooted to do this It's just a matter of going into settings and untick power saver however rooting the HTC sensation 4 is strongly recommended and flashing a ROM along with really good kernel you will increase your performance and battery will last longer

If the kernel supports it, then maybe by using a market app- host mode for xperia arc, we can have access to thumb drives !!
Please someone try and maybe it will work...
When i had an xperia neo, an XDAuser -Doomlord posted some modules in xperia arc dev thread and they also worked for neo--what about trying those !!
And
I am sorry for not following Dev section rules...i had to do this to give my idea to all the devs as i didn't had much time to PM every single dev here

I was thinking about asking this same thing, but then I figured we'll have it once ICS arrives. Or I'm wrong?
I don't think it's going to be in ice ics but pproper version of ics won't be out for a while and since I'm gonna sick with 2.3.4 gingerbread I think its better if the mod is created for us by our developers.
But I'm hoping that ics support for USB otg is true

Samsungs already had otg for a while. SGS and SGS2 have it, without custom roms.
Since ICS is made for tablets I figured it will have otg by default... I might be wrong though...
don't think it will.
all the other htc's where the devs enabled usb otg/host you had to power your usb peripherals with a self powered hub.
also i don't think there are that many devs for the sensation that will/can fix this.
here are some devs that know something about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993152
http://sven.killig.de/android/N1/2.2/usb_host/
and cotulla for the HTC HD2 on windows mobile and ubuntu
I doubt the hardware can't pull it off. At worst we'll need a custom kernel that supports otg. Which is what we need now
It's apparently working on Desire S, with CM7 and tiamat kernel. I'll test this once I get a host cable.

This COULD be helpful but..... the Endeavor is based on a tegra chipset so i don't think that when they port the rom over OTG will work.
IDK if this is related but i was pouring over dmesg in the terminal and i found [3178.161468][USB] OTG PM resume and [3178.1152893][USB] OTG PM suspend. USB OTG caught my eye but I am no developer so i might be nothing.
This kernel is available inside Viper Hub for download. I see many prefer this kernel over Beastmode. My question is- it's a direct download and install inside the Hub.
It offers install option and then prompts an obvious warning about possible bootloops etc. Have any of you installed it from Viper Hub ? I've already made a recovery of my current setup. Just wanting to see if the kernel install goes smoothly. Viper's faq section says it doesn't use ramdisk properties so it can be installed easily.
I'm just making sure before I click the install button and possibly spit up my egg nog if I bootlooped.
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Pretty new to the kernel world but I read up before changing mine.
I installed ElementalX and it installed successfully, rebooted and all was fine. However, when I looked on SetCPU for info, it still showed 1512. When I looked in Viper Hub under CPU, it wouldn't go past 1512 (not using both CPU apps at the same time obviously). It also had custom kernel portions greyed out.
What am I missing here?! I set everything to default when I went through the kernel installer as well with 1.7 as default. Shouldn't I be able to see statistically that the options ElementalX should be providing?
Any education here is appreciated!

no bro you can... I'm not sure though since I haven't used viper in a while and I'm on old hboot... But the problems some people been having with custom kernels is that they use aroma installer..
See what happens is, aroma starts, and gives you options on how much overclock you want, tweaks, S2W, etc etc... It creates a boot.img based on your choices... Lemme download viper, I'll pull my boot.img for you so you can do it through flashgui. Sounds good?
If so, how high you want your max freq to be?

hi didn't want to start my own thread but, does anyone know a ROM with 4.2.2 sense 5 but has zoe app? im using pac man now which is great but i'm selling it and most people dont have a clue that stock is better with some of the great twecks pacman has. I think it would have more selling power if it was close to the HTC one UI OS.
Thanks in advance
