I'm with Orange at the moment and i'm due a upgrade.
I've gone with the Nexus 4 on O2 via Carphone Warehouse Online... See the problem?
I was looking at two pages on their website looking around, one page on New Contract, the prices were £26 with Orange(750mb data) and £31 with O2(1gb data).
On the other page it was £26 with O2 (1gb data).
I accidentally ordered the Nexus 4 online via the UPGRADE section thinking it was the New Contract option.
I've gone through the transaction in my stupid excitement for a new shiny phone. But I'm not with O2.. I'm with Orange... Is this going to be a problem? Will I get a new O2 sim card? :|
I don't mind changing network but the fact I've gone through the transaction asking for an upgrade.. I don't know!
Will they even process my order? (at the moment it's doing checks on me (processing))
No where during the order process did it ask for previous o2 details
Best bet, contact BOTH providers and ask. They will (hopefully) be able to give you straight, truthful answers.
Guess I could wait until I get an email saying it's been successful or not - then phone them about it
That is one way to handle it, and would likely have an order number or other reference number so they could find an answer faster. Downside to that is it might be too late to change/stop it if you were switched to another carrier by accident. Best of luck on this.

I'm sick and tired of repeatedly ringing all my local o2 stores to see if they've got any in stock, so please post if you know of any that do - preferably in the Surrey/London area.
Also with out starting another thread on best price etc. O2 offering XDa II at £199 on £15p/m contract so therefore cost £379 over the year. I'm not going to use the contract at all just intererested in handset and this is cheaper than I can pick up a second hand one on ebay. However if anyone knows of a cheaper way to get hold of one please let me know. (in another thread someone said o2 selling it for £300 sim-free but to be honest not sure I believe that to be correct!).
I doubt you can find one by phoning the shop up. My local o2 shop has a list of customers waiting for a xda. Last time I looked it was two pages long and they're only getting 3 handsets a week from distrribution.
Hi,
Just want to see if anyone has info on this.
I get my upgrade very soon and was thinking about getting the XDA 2i and reselling it on ebay. I wanted to check if this was legal under my contract? Bearing in mind I'm only selling the handset.
Just judging from how the XDA 2's rocketed on ebay with their release , thought might be able to cash in...
Thanks
I've done it loads of time, I always get bored of my phone before the 12months is up (18months in my MDAIII case), but its only been to friends, who are normally on the same network.
No doubt its against your T&Cs, but hey ho!
Dont tell them, as long as you keep your contract paid up there will be no problem, if you default on the contract they will probably block the imei of the phone.
Yeah.. I might just keep the phone myself lol or hangon for my upgrade a while longer.
tho i like thel ook of the SX1...
How much is an XDA2 going for on eBay these days??
Cheers
Anthony
Done it many many times.
Ive even check T's&C's they state any items that were aquired with the creation of the contract remain your property and will not anything to do with the network.
Sim cards however are the networks and can be recalled at any time
I have seen some UK posts relating to the IQ, but I can't see it on the o2.shop site and when I rang O2 "customer services" they said it had been discontinued 2 weeks ago. He went on to put the phone down on me when I enquired further, leading me to suspect he may have have been being 'creative' with the facts?
Has anyone got one through O2 (I'm guessing you can only get an IQ through O2?) and if so, how much was it?
I got an IQ last month for free with o2 25 at £6pcm on a 18mth contract. AFAIK the IQ is still being sold.
Do you mind me asking how you got it? I don't even seem to be able to get O2 to acknowledge the existence of it, or am I looking in the wrong place (http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/)?
IQ
I have just taken delivery of an IQ.
I like......
Used to have previous incarnations of XDA2 = XDA2s = XDA2i.
Only downside at this stage is it does not sync with Notes!!!
Just need to get it unlocked...
I got it from O2 - been a business customer for some time.
follow this link http://xda.o2.co.uk/existingContact.aspx.
It does specify a business user - however who/what defines a business???
Re notes, I've found SmartphoneNotes from Syncdata to be a good app.
See my notes on the apps I consider essentialhere
There is no way to order the device except through o2 C/S at present.
Also, it is already SIM unlocked. Haven't been able to get it App unlocked yet though, but this apparently is more to do with the AKU 2.0 update than anything else.
Thanks to both of you for your help

You can't buy it from there though....
true.. although click on "Where can I get one" and they'll phone you back to process your order
Hi,
I am new here and this is my first question.
I live in Eastern Europe but a friend of mine offered to get me a HTC Sensation in UK, that she can get through her subscription to O2 UK.
I would like to know if I get this phone do I have to unlock it to use in other country?
Do the O2 Sensations have custom menus and applications? If so, is it possible to get rid of them?
I'm sorry if these questions have been answered here but I couldn't find them.
If this is not the right place to find these answers, could someone point me to where I can find them?
Thank you.
Caty.
If it's direct through O2 it will have their own ROM, which has O2 splash screens and pre-installed apps. I don't know if it's SIM locked though, although I don't it is
I'd get your friend to get it from Carphone Warehouse as they only supply unbranded handsets so you'd have no issues
So you think these apps and splash screens are not deletable?
She is getting me from O2 because she can get it for 100 pounds with her subscription.
If she has to get from Carphone then I would buy it here because the price will probably be the same, around 450 pounds.
You can get it on upgrade on any network from Carphone Warehouse - I got mine on Vodafone for free (albeit a new contract)
I think you didn't understand.
Because my friend already has a subscription on O2 she can get the phone for 100 pounds.
If she were to buy from Carphone that phone would cost 450 pounds and that is a huge difference for me.
It's the difference between buying it and not even thinking about it.
If she couldn't get it for 100 Pounds I wouldn't even consider an HTC Sensation.
If she is looking at an upgrade (as in at the end of the existing contract) she can get it from any shop, and going to Carphone Warehouse would mean she gets the unbranded handset. She doesn't have to get it from O2 directly.
If she is getting an early upgrade then yes it'd probably have to be direct from O2
I guess it's an early upgrade because she haven't been in UK for long.
She got some special offer in an e-mail from O2.
I've got an o2 Sensation. The only branding I noticed is an o2 wallpaper that is easily changed. Seems to be practically unbranded otherwise.
The only advice I would offer is be careful in case you need to return it, I had to send my first two back for having dust under the screen. The third one seems to be developing it again
Dust under the screen?
That sounds bad.
Having to send it all the way back to UK and risk the package getting "lost" would be terrible
I'm glad that the branding is easy to delete, though.
I still have to think about getting it.
Any other problem that we should check in case I decide to get it?
Hi, I have been looking to get the Htc One X on a new contract.
Had a good look around and Go Mobile seem to do the best deal for what I want to pay monthly. I will be going to buy the phone next Saturday but..
As the Htc One x has a few issues at the moment, I am wondering about returns
and has anyone had any dealings with Go Mobile??
I have already spoke to the bloke regarding the phone and mentioned this forum
and all the updates regarding what has been happening since the phones release.
He said the phone should be O.k. I will be checking the phone before I buy for any Defects anyway. But anyone used Go Mobile before??
Go Mobile is just third Party. What provider will the phone come to you with
Cheers for the reply
The contract I am getting will be with Three. but the phone as I am told by the shop assistant will be a network free model..
I am just curious on returns if any defects..
