Pressure Sensitivity is built in, you don't have to do anything.
However, it is only applicable on certain brushes, maybe you have tried it on ones not supported.
As to rejecting your palm, use a coaster, mouse mat or similar. Place the coaster, mouse mat etc on the screen and rest your palm on that. You can then let the pen touch the screen as the mat does not register a touch.
Probably smarter to just use a glove..

I find gloves to be cumbersome, you don't get the right feel of the pen, plus occasionally you need to use your fingers.

Fingers are open.
Someone was saying sketchbook mobile got updated to include a pen only function. Sketchbook pro will likely receive that feature in the next update.
Under the brush option menu (the middle icon in the top bar--shaped like a brush) once you have the pallets open, there's a settings icon (three sliders), under this, you can change the min/max values for opacity and size. There you can change values for any brush you have selected from the left tool bar.

Ah, that is true too, I've just been stretching my shirt to cover the bottom of my hand.. I don't like coasters because it gets in the way, but yes, gloves that cover all the way are annoying too because you can't feel the stylus.
I believe there was an older version where you had to enable it manually, the current version has it enabled by default. In my opinion while rich in features sketchbook pro is not that good, mainly no palm rejection, and no custom size canvas and some other things, also the spen seems to be not that accurate in SKB, if you are into drawing I would recommend LayerPaint app, very nice app, very powerful yet quite simple.

Could be usefull for clicking small links in Opera, go there with the mousecursor and click them
I think it would be usefull to be able to use it as a mouse pad.
Was also thinking maybe moving up or down on it on the left and right side could be able to emulate a hard button for the onscreen softbuttons, for using fullscreen apps.
YUP - This could work on the touch screen too - was just thinking that since the touch functionality is built into the buttons too you could manipulate a mouse pointer without obstructing the screen.

I have played around with some of the multitouch apps (browser, maps, image-gallery examples) and found them quite impressive. My question is, can the onscreen-keyboard be hacked to allow for multitoutch?
i know the keyboard is pretty useful but it would be better to have the multi touch features. The screen supports multutouch and it is a bit stupid that apple can copyright multitouch. alot of my friends mock the android cos it doesnt have mutitouch (stupid iphone snobs)

I'm sure it would be possible. There honestly should be multi-touch support for the virtual keyboard. Not to display 2 letters at a time obviously, but to just que the second letter to allow for faster typing rather than have it skip between 2 letters. The iphone does have multi-touch support on its VK for the same exact reason of faster typing.

Yeah, I don't think multi-touch is available for Maps and Gallery. If I'm wrong could someone shoot me a link please?
Multi touch is only available in the browser. There were some demos you could install on your phone of the maps and gallery but they were just demos not the actual program.
As for the VK not sure why you would need it. Maybe type faster but other than that I see no need for it.

I don't really see what all the hype is about multi-touch. The only reason I can see it being useful is for games, and maybe if a shift key was inserted in the VK. Other than that, I feel it just becomes more difficult. Sure, it's cool technology, but isn't it easier to zoom using your thumb, holding the phone with one hand, than having to use two fingers or two separate hands? I've been running JF builds for months which multi-touch, and barely use it at all.
Multi touch allows for faster typing. Especially if you're typing in landscape mode with your thumbs going at it. I've noticed it would skip letters for me on various occasions because of it not registering hits that are too close to each other.
Why wouldn't you just open the keyboard...

I agree about typing. I also think the iphone's way of zooming in/out on the map is easier, too. It is all preference, but I really want the multi-touch map. Having it as an option would satisfy the masses.
To be honest, after the novelty of having multitouch on the browser wore off I found myself using the "+" and "-" buttons on the screen anyway!

Personally, I hate those freaking on-screen zoom in/out buttons with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. They're always popping up in the way of links that are placed at the bottom of web pages and I constantly hit that stupid button in the bottom right of the screen, opening that useless panning box. IMHO on-screen menus should never be placed in front of content. Am I the only one that thinks that's completely retarded?

frankly i like the circle zoom!! i thnk tht wud b more convinient then the multi touch unless ur in landscape mode for some reason or another but yes i wud really like multi touch vk!! i need to b able to type faster but i still use my hardware keyboard for fast typing!
i prefer using two fingers to zoom in and out. I feel that by using two fingers you see where you are zooming and dont have a finger in the way. As multitouch is enabled in the rom, using two fingers emulates a finger press in between them, which can get quite enoying if you type fast ir knock a key by accident, u get a random key in the middle.
I know its not essential but these little things give it a nicer feel.

It's a matter of personal preference. Is that not why we like open source so much? Some of us don't want to open keyboards every 4 seconds. Some of us have magic's sans hardware keyboards.
I for one welcome any improvements that I may or not use but in the end they are improvements.

Because, I text a LOT. Between work and twitter and friends... I'm texting all the time. sometimes it's just faster to start typing.. plus I'm sure it's better on the hinges to not keep snapping the thing open every minute.
Ok so I posted some bit's of this already but I have refined the original "Proof of concept" design to something a bit more useable.
It annoyed me that I could not see the buttons in Landscape mode but I could see the sides of the screen when it is set to Autoscale. This set me to try and make a pad that would fit into the tiny slivers of screen left in landscape mode with "Autoscale" set.
This pad needs to be used in "AutoScale" mode on a WVGA screen such as an HD or HD2 This setting leaves a slither of screen each side of the screen that I have used to show the button placement. Don't get me wrong, you can't fit a Dpad in that area BUT you can easily mark top and bottom left of it and that's a start.
I find that my thumb is a bit lazy and I struggle a bit to use a square DPad, because of this I have squished it a bit to a more suitable rectangular shape, have a go and tell me if it's no good - If you imagine that the visible "strip" at the side is 1/4 of the DPads width then you should get it pretty easily. Please take a look at the attached picture though, I have made this pad a slightly odd shape because I find that I use left and right a cack load more than I use up and down. It may not be great for all games but I have found that it suits my thumb better than a standard equal layout. Other than this the Start (ST) Select (SE), A, B, R1 and R2 buttons are all visible at the edge of the screen!
Currently the GBA pad is the only one I have done but I could easily modify this concept to cover all of the different systems - The only reason I haven't is that I only really play GBA games on my phone.
There is a readme included but I'd like some feedback so please bring it on!

Both your pads makes the game laggy when i tap the white (unassigned) space. Other pads I've tried never did that. Any idea how to selve this? Or am i the only one experiencing this lag?

Hi I find that they all lag a bit, it seems to be the way that the Multitouch is implemented (I don't think it's Blutz, rather the original Morphgear crew), I find that when I have 2 buttons pressed all is fine but if I press NE and A (so 3 buttons reported to Morphgear) it lags until I release all buttons. This is just my laymans observation.
I could try producing an ultra light version to see if that helps... I think my skin is >2mb
Could you give me some examples of ones that don't cause it and I'll have a look, I wouldn't be overly surprised to find it was something I had done wrong. What we really need is the capacity to set white = NULL!
Just discovered "sketchbook mobile" by Autodesk, brilliant drawing app with loads of brushes and even layers. Works fine on my Tab, just needs tools for cutting bits out and being able to load photos to draw on.

Yes, I've mentioned this before of Sketchbook being very good.
I also mentioned there is another title by the name of 'Magic Doodle Premium' which operates very similar to Sketchbook and like the former has tons of pencils/brushes etc to work with.
My only gripe with Sketchbook is it does not utilize the Tablet screen. You need to use Spare Parts to get it to do this.
Magic Doodle Premium on the other hand uses the full screen and is my preferred choice.

Just Recived mine , and this is what i made, after i purchased sketchbook pro, btw with the new update, it looks unlike most reviews, that the pen is abit quicker. I might have a bad pen, due to the canvas not picking up the lightest pressure. But thats easily replaceable, everything else is great!:good:

It does show that it has pressure sensitivity. Added to OP.
The TV Paint app looks really just like a port From the PC version. Which is really nice actually! The downside... if you aren't familiar with the software, you aren't going to have a good time..

Yeah. It is very specific type of drawing program. For example (don't know if in this version) cutting something out makes a brush out of it immidiately.
Actually.. it isn't even meant for drawing stills I believe.. It's main target is animation. Seeing (as far as I looked) this being a full port, you can create reaallllyy awesome animation **** with this! Might give it a go

Edit: did a really quick and rough animation test with tv paint..
I'm not really familiar yet with tv paint, but wanted to take a quick look at the export features..
The software looks like a port with some touch control related improvements.. shortcuts are still available in their classic pc form, which might actually be great if you would use a bluetooth keyboard to operate this program. Considering my and co-students animating experience, it's almost a MUST to be able to easily use many shortcuts, which makes getting such keyboard (almost) a must-buy to fully utilize this programs potential on any tab and get the best experience with it.
There's the possibility to export to Quicktime MOV, AVI, MP4, PNG/JPG/other image sequences.. Unfortunately only container options with 3 possible bit-rate settings (namely: .2, 1 and 5 Mbps) and no real codec settings. (eg. MPEG-2, H.264, etc...) (Something I really miss!!!!! )
Framerate is ofcourse controlled by project settings, but they have the ability to export to various custom settings as can be seen in the screenshot.

I might review this program thoroughly in this thread in the near near future when I have some more time on my hands...

Markers is awesome for simple sketching! the pressure detection is very good on the ink style brushes, too bad you can only pick from preselected colours. still, nice for making simple value sketches

canvas lite: (can paint quite nice sketch style paintings with the 2nd brush) kind of fun somehow. has long press = eyedropper function. in the pro version you can make your own brushes from 50px canvases, which works surprisingly well! it is very crashy though.
plouik: (stroke dies extremely quickly)
una paint: has pressure... i guess if you want to draw oekaki style stuff, sure
layerdraw: pressure makes the ENTIRE stroke fat uniformly. I have no idea what anyone would use this for
voytpaintfree: nice pressure! you can get very smooth strokes on it as long as you don't make very fast curves, but it's pretty limited (couldn't find an opacity setting). haven't tried the pro vers.
paid:
doodledroid: for 99 cents, it's okay. the pressure curve is pretty bad, width doesn't start at zero so you're limited to making somewhat chunky ink strokes. but you can make some painterly type sketches.
drawing pad: i regret this purchase, it's like a child's crayon. all of the tools.

hey, no worries! Thanks for compiling the list, I'm hoping people will find something that works for them, buy it and support more development for android. The Note has so much potential... and I'm trying not to rely too much on the beta of TV paint, arg
It's a real shame most people's first experience will be with PS touch, because it really makes the Note look like crap.

Thats was my first experience and my gf's too. She said... well i don't know about this purchase.. so when it finally arrived home, i downloaded all the other apps, i wanted to try out, and well i felt in love . I had high hopes for PS touch but... nope lol.
