(Q) Does flash still work? - General Questions and Answers

I know flash had been discontinued from the play store a while back and stopped after ics. I have run it on jelly bean but I cannot anymore. I'm using my galaxy S3 with 4.1.1 JB and flash just doesn't want to work. I just put a brand new Rom on my nexus 7 with full wipe and installed the lastest version of flash and the same thing happened! I've tried a bunch of versions and flash just doesn't want to run on neither device. Any suggestions

[Q] I need some answers about Nexus S

So I bought Nexus S from second hand recently mostly because it will get official ICS support from Google.
So because it's second hand buy, I really don't know if I'm using original bootloader, kernel, radio etc.
It's rooted (because I have Superuser app), I think it has stock 2.3.6 android (build number GRK39F) and kernel version 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef, [email protected]#1.
Can someone who use stock android and original kernels confrime to me that this is right version?
I really want to update to ICS using incremental update which I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445635) but I'm affraid to don't screw something because of bad experience when I radio bricked my desire
Can I update it to ICS or I need to do unroot or something?
Just download the correct stock ICS rom for your device (if it is I9020T or I9023) ,put it on the SD root and then flash it using the stock or CWM recovery and be done with it (if you need the ICS)
most likely you won't be update by OTA because you are rooted (system file verification will fail)
just download stock ICS ROM and flash it ...
Ota will install fine if its a stock rom with just root. The update script basically checks that everything that should be there is there . If there is something else in there like su it don't matter.
flashing a new rom is the best way to go if you have cwm installed already
I succesfuly flashed ICS and first impressions are very good.
But I think I lost recovery...

Click to collapse
flash a CWM recovery via adb , or there is TWRP recovery in DEV section , which is very good .

[Q] How to flash a stock rom on tablet with bootloop

Really new to this, I just got my tablet about a week ago. I've rooted, though when I tried to install CWM it went into a bootloop. I let it charge over night and when I woke up it was back to normal (yay). This morning I decided to have another go at CWM so I tried a factory reset however it went back into a bootloop. I tried searching for how to flash a stock rom but no avail as to a clear step by step process, however I've found the stock rom though its just an update.zip, I dont really know how to use it with odin. Could somone explain to me where to go from here?
give this a try...
Can you at least boot into download mode?
If you can then you will be able to flash the Samsung official firmware using Odin. Here is a link to help you out.
http://droidviews.com/2012/update-s...h-official-android-4-1-1-jelly-bean-firmware/
That will show you how to install the official jelly bean update.
After you hopefully get jelly bean installed you can root the tablet using the CF-Autoroot exploit. Here is a link to help you out with that

Okay...now if that does not work look into flashing CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly this will update you to android 4.2 the newest jelly bean update and you get to keep your tablet rooted. You can find out how to do that here on this forum or by a simple Google search. I use it and its great!
Hope it helps...

[Q] Update to JB issues (Sprint Galaxy Nexus)

Hey all,
I have a rooted sprint galaxy nexus on stock ICS 4.0.4. When I rooted my phone CWM wasn't sticking and so the guide i was using said I had to change recoveryfromboot.p to recoveryfromboot.p.bak. So I did that. Now when I try to install the OTA update it boots into recovery and fails the install with the message: Failed whole package sign (or something like that). How can I update to the newest stock build without having to wipe everything?

[Q] Need help installing the new Jedi Masterx rom

I'm on stock firmware and update my t-mobile note 2 to the new 4.3 android. Then I root my phone and I try to install TWRP with goomanager and it says I may need to reboot. I reboot and do the button combo I usually do to get into TWRP recovery but it doesn't work. It just takes me to that regular android one. I want to get TWRP on it so i can install the new Jedi MasterX rom that has 4.3 on it. can anyone help me get that to work or do I need to do something different to get TWRP to run on the new 4.3 update? Also, if there is a better place to ask this please let me know. Thanks!
