We have 4 Micromax A110 handsets as following :-
Phone 1. Stock Unrooted handset Batch 1
Phone 2. Stock Rooted handset Batch 1
Phone 3. Stock Rooted handset Batch 2
Phone 4. Stock Unrooted handset Batch 2
Q : What do these Batches mean ?
Ans : Batch 1 is the initial batch of mmx a110s that were purchased in November 2012 and Batch 2 is the 2nd batch of mmx a110 purchased in December 2012. The difference between batch 1 & 2 - apart from visual difference between two, there is some difference as per me(noob user) in Settings -> Storage -> Preferred Install Location. Batch 1 has options as Internal Storage, Let the system decide and Internal SD Storage while batch 2 has Internal Storage, Let the system decide and External SD Storage. I am pretty sure there must be some more differences but i don't know others.
The problem :
I have a PNY Hook Transformer Atteche 16 GB pendrive that i used with OTG on all the 4 phones. The result :-
Phone 1. Flashdrive detected, mounted and works like a charm.
Phone 2. Flashdrive detected but not mounted initially. Installed [root] StickMount and it mounted and worked like a charm.
Phone 3. Flashdrive detected but not mounted initially. Installed [root] StickMount and it still doesn't mount. StickMount just says none where the mount path is shown. Luckily, I was able to mount it (without stickmount) and use it as well. However, it automatically got removed after some time . And another times, it worked like a charm. It just drives me crazy to see such a behavior of my device.
Phone 4. Flashdrive not detected. Further steps were not followed, nor was StickMount installed.
Now the question : How it could be that same pendrive works on one handset and not on another ? There must be some valid reason behind this.
I have attached dmesg output files for further analysis. The details of scenario in which files were logged are :-
Phone 1 - Restarted, attached flashdrive, unmounted the same, removed it and got dmesg log via adb.
Phone 2 - Restarted, attached flashdrive, it got mounted. Removed and attached again, it again mounted. Removed and attached again and it did not mount(though it was detected). Got dmesg log via adb.
Phone 3 - Not Available at the time of logging.
Phone 4 - Restarted, attached flashdrive, flashdrive was not detected. Removed drive and got dmesg log via adb.
Note - All other flashdrives work with all the handsets.
Did u find ne solution??

Hi,
I just bought the Desire S and it comes with an 8GB SD card. When I plug my phone into the computer to browse the SD card, the SD card doesn't show up in My Computer. I've tried USB storage ON and OFF, debugging Mode and nothing works.
When I go to Computer Management -> Disk Management, the SD card shows up as "Unallocated". I cannot assign a drive letter to it as well.
I took the SD card out of the phone and plugged it into the computer using a card reader and it showed up in My Computer and was working fine. I put it back into the phone and plugged the phone to the computer and selected SD card storage option on the phone and I can't browse the SD card any more.
I've already formatted the card as FAT32 using Windows 7 before putting it into the phone.
I can browse the SD card just fine using a file explorer on the phone.
What could be the problem? why isn't the SD card showing up when I plug the phone into the computer?
I'm running MIUI 1.9.30 ROM, but the problem was also present with the original HTC ROM as well.
maybe you should try to format it through phone's settings, even better if you try to use a sense rom
Do you have htc usb drivers on your pc? Not sure if this they are required to browse the sdcard whilst in the phone, but they maybe?
The best you can do, you must format your SD card (all partitions) with your recovery (Ext3 or Ext4).
If you have used 4EXTRecovery or CWM, it's easier. (I prefer 4EXTRecovery )
At the end I think it will be ok

I downloaded the "HTC Sync" tool and installed it but it doesn't recognize the phone probably because MIUI is installed on the phone.
Does anyone else have MIUI installed and managed to get it to work? Or is there some USB drivers I need to install?

But Windows doesn't recognize Ext3 or Ext4, so I still won't be able to browse my SD card on the computer.

Indeed, except if you use Droid Explorer on your PC (you can read all partitions from your phone with).
Except your SD partition who's must be in Fat32, all the parttions must be in Ext3 or Ext4.
That's why I'm write that's you can format your Sd card with your recovery.
For exemple, mine is:
System => ext4 => capacity :549 MB => free: 101MB
data => ext4 => capacity :1156 MB => free: 427MB
cache => ext4 => capacity :142 MB => free: 138MB
sd ext => ext4 => capacity :0 MB MB => free: 0 MB
sdcard => fat32 => capacity :29543 MB => free: 15369MB
In my pc, the only partition that I can read is sdcard
I tried Droid Explorer but it is buggy, incomplete, very slow, and overall crap.
I tried RCMix3D 1.5 ROM with Sense 3.5 and Android 2.3.5, and still the SD card doesn't show up on the computer. I have HTC Sync installed, but it crashes when I plug the phone in.
The SD card is formatted as FAT32.
Is there anything else I can do to browse the SD card on my PC? What did you guys do to get your SD card to show up on the PC for the first time?
Thanks for your help.

Some daft questions:
Did the SD function fine ever, eg with stock ROM when you first got the phone?
Have you tried an alternate SD card in the same phone?
Have you tried a different USB lead?
Have you tried on a different PC?
Have you tried another USB cabel?
Swyped from my Desire S
[Solved]
I found out what the problem was. After having a look at My computer -> Properties -> Device Manager, I found that two of the USB Controllers were not working properly and the SD card was detected as an "Unknown Device".
I uninstalled HTC Sync, fast boot drivers, and anything related to Android or HTC from my computer.
I then uninstalled the USB controller drivers by right-clicking on each and selecting Uninstall, and the same for the "Unknown Device". After a restart Windows started scanning for drivers for these devices and they started working perfectly again.
The SD card now shows up in My Computer when I plug the phone in, without the help of any HTC drivers.
I hope that helps others who come across this problem. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me with this problem. I appreciate your help guys.
i had that too.... i formatted it wiht my desire hd and it worked
Great to hear that this is resolved.

Hi
Flashed my Galaxy Note N7000 with STunner 4.2.2 JB rom on NX kernel and the SD card epic saga began.
The rom is awesome in every other aspect but this
A little background:
After flashing the above rom and kernel, the usb transfer speed is too low < 1mb/s (32 gigs class 10 card) so I searched and decided to try multi mount sd. This increased the transfer speed to normal but the phone would reboot midway of transfer. SO multimount sd failed didn't actually fix my problem. Next heard people telling me to transfer files in recovery (CWM):
1. The card mounts in recovery without any error (sdcard and usb storage tried both) but I cannot see it on my pc (Win 7 64 bit)
the card is formatted asd Fat 32 using windows and I have also tried sdformatter for windows (found this suggestion on the forum) but still it doesnt show up on windows ! Is it really that difficult to transfer files onto sdcard via USB ????
Any help on fixing this problem is highly appreciated. My aim is to transfer files via USB onto SD card at normal speed (10-15mbps) and not @ drop dead crawling speed (500kbps to 1mbps). Help people !!!!!!!

Are you finding your device in the device manager? Download the adb package and try to see if your device shows when using the command "adb devices"
It it shows up it is some driver issue.
Unplug the device, uninstall all usb-drivers you can find.
Reboot
and plug in the device again and hope it's working
I have also found out that it's a bit tricky to get working, but with just trial and error you will prevail!

Thanks for he reply mate!
Well here is what I have done and seems to be working finally for USB transfers:
Download and install multi mount SD
Connect USB and mount sd crads using android (Touch to copy files)
Safely remove the mount cards from windows
Unmount USB from android (touch to stop usb storage)
remount sd crads but use multi mount this time
And yes enable the option for the device to stay awake while charging
Thats it getting transfer rates of 20mbps without any problems since then

1. You must connect the phone to computer via USB cable, select ”Turn on USB storage” and unchecked the ”USB debugging” form ”Settings” --> ”Developer options” .
2. A new drive/partition will pop up on the computer Explorer. This one is your internal phone memory which, in this case has 1.29 GB.
3. Select this partition and format it 32GB, FAT32 (work for sure) or NTFS (if workable for you) as a normal PC partition.
4. Unplug the USB cable and check the size of your phone partition.
Now, your problem should be solved.

Do not do this what ever you do. This person has no idea what they are talking about.
Track down the stock software for the device. A reflash fix it. Also make sure that Jr has the hardware it claims to. Too many fakes around that lie about the hardware.
It worked for me.
This method worked for this case. I had the same problem and I find this way. Annoying situation, noway to regain the size of partition. Probably you did not experienced this case.
For sure the appropriate drivers must be installed on PC in order to communicate with the phone. It seems too easy to be true, but it works.
I tried to re-flash with different firmware versions but the size of memory was not fixed unless this method.
The partition must be formatted as FAT32 (not NTFS) and it work for sure.
In the past on my Android phones, primarily LG, I have had SD cards installed and they became the default storage location for download, DCIM, images saved from any program, etc. Now I have the G5 and it seems to be quite different. I have an SD card installed and it seems there is no way to make it the default location as it has been in the past. I understand that adoptive storage can be made to work to use the SD card for more 'internal' RAM but I have had two issues with this, 1. I can't see the phone with ADB when connected to my PC and 2. I can't seem to find adoptive storage instructions that work. I am not new to LG or Android phone but this one has me a bit confused. Can adoptive storage be used on the T-Mobile G5 and/or can the SD card be made the default location for the G5 to store things, like DCIM, downloads, etc like all the LG phones in the past?
Thanks,
T.E
I was able to get adoptable storage going, discovered there's a typo in Paul O'Brien's article, once I fixed that I was set to jet. This is an edit from Paul's article here:
http://www.modaco.com/news/android/...e-adoptable-storage-on-your-s7-s7-edge-r1632/
1. BACK UP THE DATA YOU HAVE ON YOUR MICROSD CARD. Your card will be formatted by this process, so make sure you have saved any pictures, videos etc. from your card to your PC before you start.
2. Decide how you want to split your card. You can either commit 100% of the card to internal storage, or split between internal storage and conventional SD. This option is useful if you like to unplug your card and put it in your PC. I would probably recommend committing the whole card.
3. Umount the sdcard before connecting it in debug mode to your pc.
4. Open your command window / terminal on your computer and type the 'adb shell' command (with your phone connected of course). You will need to enable USB debugging in developer settings (which in turn is displayed by tapping the build number of the device 5 times) in order to see the option.
5. Type 'sm list-disks' to list the disks available for adoption. It'll look something like below - take note of the disk ID (disk:179:160 in this example).
6. Partition the disk. For this we use the 'sm partition DISK TYPE RATIO' command. For example, to partition the disk above as fully adopted storage (aka private) I'd use the command 'sm partition disk:179,160 private'. If I wanted a 50/50 split between adopted and regular, I'd use the command 'sm partition disk:179,160 mixed 50'. Easy right?
7. This took almost no time at all for me.
8. Go to the sdcard in storage and move data to it. This will then merge the space on the card and the internal storage.
HTH.
Ok, first problem first. I have the SDK installed, debug mode on and phone connected. I can see the file system on the phone but ADB DEVICES returns nothing. Until I can get that resolve I can't even do the rest.
Can anyone tell me how to get the T-Mobile LG G5 to be recognized by ADB?
Resolved and I believe I have the adoptable storage working now.
If this is done with a somewhat slow SD card will it have a negative impact on the entire system?

Maybe. Please correct me if I'm wrong but adoptable storage tries to only put stuff on the sdcard that will live comfortably there. Nothing system related will go there, so worse case an app takes longer to launch.

Can this be undone? What happens if you remove the sdcard? Is it still readable in a PC, so the files could be recovered if the phone died?
Click on the sdcard then select make portable storage. No clue what happens if you take it out other than some programs won't work.

If it gets encrypted you won't be able to read it in a PC.

Can someone that had done it please post pics of how is it supposed to look like once you do the process, the reason I asked is bc under storage I can see the storage as one but in many google apps I only the the the 32gb of storage and no 211gb like on the storage settings. Thanks in advance

Hello Guys
Using a Lenovo K6 NOTE and 32GB SD Card (kingston) on it
Android OS 7.0 - (not rooted) the Official one
Went to > Settings >Storage Setting > Unmount SD Card (successfully Unmounted Safely to remove) so i removed it from the device.
Mounted it into a trash low budget Chinese phone (10$)
The phone Didn't recognize the card - removed and put it again many times and still nothing .
Mounted it back into the Lenovo DIDN'T RECOGNIZE IT TOO
Mounted it to PC The same (using 2 computers, 4 card readers and into the laptop's slot) and didn't recognize it yet
Mounted it to Nokia Xpressmusic 5130 and it asks for a password (i didn't put it btw)
I've tried the following methods :-
Tried a lots of passwords (after i trying a wrong password twice i wait at least 5 min to try another one)
Downloaded to the Nokia phone many file explorers for java phones(.jar) to search the mmscard file and i didn't find the system folder to find that file.
(On PC) when i try to enter some commands on the CMD window (ran as administrator) a several errors has been shown chkntfs /X D: Cannot query state of drive D: __ Fsutil dirty query D:Error: The parameter is incorrect __ chkdsk D:/f /offlinescanandfix
Cannot open volume for direct access. .
Tried too many programs to delete, format and partitioning and still not readable
I don't want the data on this sd card i want it to be readable again not anymore
