Rumored (for the 75th time) Jelly Bean Verizon release date
Friday December 21st 2012
Rumored (for the 75,000th time) End of the world.
At this point, I'm almost inclined to say the world ending is probably more feasible than Verizon actually delivering. At least Armageddon doesn't come with tons of bloatware.

They've updated that post with the following, so I wouldn't hold your breath:
Update: We aren’t sure why, but Verizon just changed the support docs back to a previous update. We’ll keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Well check “pricing” off the list of things we wanted confirmed for the HTC Thunderbolt. Best Buy plans on selling the device for $249 on new 2-year contract, a price we had heard before, but are seeing officially for the first time in next week’s ad. Oh, and a full price of $749 is also confirmed. Yikes.

good info but i think most people here want to know release date and if there will be an up charge for 4g service more than anything else.
if its going to be 249 and both bestbuy and verizon, it'll come down to who gives me new every 2 discount
I'm really disappointed with the $749 price tag. Hopefully Verizon offers it cheaper online.
This supports the 14th because the flyer doesn't say coming soon

Exactly.
Let's do some thinking. DroidLife says that this Best Buy ad is due for the week of the 20. Although we don't see a February 20th date on the ad (or at least I didn't) let's presume that it IS the Best Buy ad for the 20th for a second. Okay, notice how the ad DIDN'T mention anything about preorder; this confirms that the Thunderbolt will already released and therefore ensures a February 14th or 17th launch at Best Best even if Verizon and other third party vendors don't sell the phone on those dates for whatever reason.

Probably October, they always have some Nokia event where they launch new handsets.
September will be all about the N9.

They won't. I've read interviews with Nokia execs who have made two things very clear. First, the timetable is too short to get the new handsets into every market this year in any kind of volume, so don't expect a flood on day one. And second, even given that issue, they recognize the importance of having new hardware in the market this year, including in the US.
I would expect the major geographical markets to see small/moderate numbers of Nokia handsets by the beginning of December, with a significant expansion in Q1 of 2012.

Its about time someone leans out to the carriers...
...there is going to be a Nokia event in Germany on Sept. 17th and there are rumors that Nokia is going to show final WP7 handsets...
It's actually August 17th, next week but according to some sources they won't unveil any phone (from thisismynext.com).

Q2 doesn't end until the end of may (12/4 = 3 => 3*2 = 6 -> June). But the fact that tmo has failed to mention anything about the ICS update and is instead pushing a 2.3.4 GB fix May 14th to issues that should've been dealt with since launch date is very concerning to me.
oh what.

Any promises made are for factory unlocked LG branded (non carrier) phones like they sell here in Thailand. Phones with custom carrier firmware need carrier approval and payments of large sums of money to LG for a major OS upgrade. Not lucky to get for an EOL'd device. T-Mobile has better things to do with their money than pay to upgrade a device they no longer sell. The 2.3.4 was probably considered a maintenance update which is either free or at a very low cost to T-Mobile. If it addressed certain bugs which are covered by LG's contract with T-Mobile than the update to 2.3.4 would be free for T-Mobile. Don't expect an official ICS upgrade, and if you do get one consider yourself very, very lucky.

That's a fiscal year. Each company can choose it's exact dates for the beginning and end IIRC, but the US Government does use the plan you laid out.

The feds determine when you fork over the revenue they did not create. Companies are free to run their own plan. I wish the government played by the same rules of those they take income from.
G2x definitely isn't getting one. We will just have to port the O2x ICS build.

well at least O2X is getting ICS officially and there'll be no problem porting it to G2X
Tegra 2 drivers will be there n all that broken ICS stuff will be up and running
lets hope it'll happen soon and not in last days of June
Oh he's saying it and so am I.
Yeah the guys over in the e937/c800 thread don't like it when you tell them theres no ICS coming to those pieces of crap. Kiddies are reporting people for telling the truth that dashes their little hopes into pieces and you get slapped by mods.
Go Nexus, or go home. I will never give my money to LG again. When my girlfriend wants to get a android phone I won't even sell her my old one I'll pay for her Nexus if I have to. Give my middle finger to the carriers and budget phone makers.

The Federal Government's fiscal year begins on October 1 (so FY2013 will begin on 10/1/12), and I think some colleges have their FY start in September. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?
But if we're not talking "Fiscal" years, just regular years, then Q2 ends at the end of June.
Thank you for taking the time to contact HTC Technical Support, Jordan, in regards to source code for the HTC One X. I can definitely understand wanting to make sure you have everything you need to make your HTC One X truly yours.
Unfortunately, Jordan, we do not have any specific release date for the source code of the HTC One X. The only information that I have is that HTC will typically publish the kernel open source code for recently released devices as soon as possible on http://www.htcdev.com , usually within 90 to 120 days. As soon as the kernel source code is ready, it will be posted on our developer website (htcdev.com), under the 'downloads' section: http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads/ the Kernel open source code for recently released devices as soon as possible. I would recommend that you keep checking back on the HTC Dev website for new source codes.

The first day AT&T stores had the phone available for sale was Sunday May 6th. Preorders don't count.
I might not be the best at math but that doesn't sound like 70 to me. Anyway, I'd be willing to bet we're looking at august 6th for the source.

wasn't there one fellow in a thread created by gunnyman that said that he had a lawyer or something because of things between him and and att manager? and he said something like kernel source will be released weekend of july 4th (this weekend)? or did we all establish that info as not credible?
I think we all just agreed to take it as a rumor and with a grain of salt. No offense to the person who posted it, but it isn't difficult for any poster to make that claim. If it comes this weekend, we will all be thrilled. If not though, we continue the waiting game.

Samsung probably wants this update pushed asap so it can help sell its Galaxy Gear. It would also be in Verizon's best interests if they carry the gear. That would be the only reason I could see this happening so relatively quickly.
It just stinks because at that time we'll be clamoring for some Kit Kat!
