Looks like we don't have much longer of a wait for the Verizon Galaxy S3 4.3 update. Friday, November 22nd 2013 is the scheduled roll out for it, but this could change too. Hopefully not.

Samsung probably wants this update pushed asap so it can help sell its Galaxy Gear. It would also be in Verizon's best interests if they carry the gear. That would be the only reason I could see this happening so relatively quickly.
It just stinks because at that time we'll be clamoring for some Kit Kat!

It would be awesome if a 4.3 leak showed up. We really don't see leaks on Verizon though, when I was on Tmobile there was always leaks.

There's already a thread for this. Either use the search function as its your estate friend here on XDA

There's no reason for opening additional threads. We are not going to open one for every month.

So back in December, Samsung stated that ICS would be available for Galaxy devices in Q1 2012 (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2397850,00.asp - among other sources).
Someone asked on Facebook when the update for the Galaxy Nexus S was coming and Samsung stated that "ICS updates for Galaxy devices will be available in early Q2." (https://www.facebook.com/samsungmobilecanada/posts/10150560045396050)...
Idk, that may be a bit different because the Nexus S is in the original Galaxy S family. Those are going to be updated after all the Galaxy S2 devices. They actually weren't even going to release the update for those phones initially.

Some rumors said march first, which would be q1 and not going to happen. Some leaked document i saw said april which would be early q2. God knows what they are doing over there. I want aosp/cm9 anyway, but if they release ics it might help get us closer.
I am so sick of this too.....
From now on I am only getting Nexus Devices
I'm sick of it too, but used to it. They just released official Gingerbread for the Captivate (my previous phone) a few weeks ago after XDA users had been running leaked versions for several months. But the devs here on XDA already have (as I understand it) some pretty kickass ICS roms available for the Captivate.
Don't hold your breath waiting for AT&T/Samsung. We'll have ICS here on XDA long before they make it officially available (but...without a secure element we won't be able to use Google Wallet--not sure how they're going to solve that one...re-issued sim cards maybe?)
Sounds like it's all Galaxy devices:
https://www.facebook.com/samsungmobilecanada/posts/10150560045396050
That being said, I wasn't holding my breath either for an official release but figured when one came it might help speed up some things here on XDA or for the CM guys.
And yeah, I was running ICS on my Cappy for a couple months before it died (needed a new mobo so the cost of upgrading to the SGS II LTE was actually cheaper than the repair on my Cappy - go figure)... the official Samsung/Rogers upgrade cycle on the Cappy was horrendous as well, bought it with Froyo, an hour later had CM7 on it, and it wasn't long afte they updated officially to GB that I was running TeamHacksung ICS alpha builds on it.
We'll be lucky to get official ICS before Jellybean is released
That is Samsung mobile Canada stating that. So may be different for us in the states. But what I think is funny is the vivid is getting the update soon, and if I'm not wrong both phones came out on the same day. So no blaming this on the carrier this time. Damn Sammy LOL.

True, it is Samsung Mobile Canada - I wasn't expecting us (or the US) to get it in Q1 anyways (officially) as the original statement I believe was for the international versions of the Galaxy S II/Note. Still, was hoping that the international stock rom would help jump/fix kinks some of the developers here are trying to overcome.
I'm in Canada, so I can only hope

To clarify, they only said the international versions of the S II and the Note would get it in Q1. The others that were announced to get ICS have never been given a time frame, other than that they would follow those two.
There seems to be a lot of confusion on that point.

Yes, I do understand that fully. Not holding my breath that the international version will be rolling out any time soon either.
Looking into the dev forum there are two promising roms one in alpha 1 with basic functions working and another one that the mods and the dev keep fighting over is a lot further along but I think was taken down again :-(. I'm guessing we have about a month maybe a bit more before we have some awesome functioning ics rom's
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
Well Q1 is still not done with, we got a whole month for them to hopefully release.
technicalities... Huge companies always drag there feet, I almost guarantee the skyrocket dev community will have ics before everyone else

He's probably right, if the galaxy nexus has it, with an SOC which isn't so dissimilar to ours, they're probably sitting on it. I was also over in the t989 forum and it was stated the kang Juggernaut devs got an ics samsung release leak but are sitting on it as well. If they have it, guarantee for our phones its done
I'm not doubting if someone can back it up but thats the dudes first post not very reputable

I think ATT has a track record of six months post-release average for superphones, if I remember correct. So your guess is pretty decent.

Jesus I might as well buy a Titan II or a one XL
Btw, there is one rumor (at least) on a Japanese website that the phone will be released not in the usual black or white colors... but in dark blue or white, as shown in the press notification "teaser" pictured here.
It's the first time I've heard this "rumor". I don't give it any more credence than the usual rumor, except that I tend to believe Japanese sites more than English.
I do like the "brushed aluminum" effect in dark blue.

It works for me. I have two phone plans, so I got the Skyrocket in November and will pick up the SII in November also. One new phone every year. yay.
There was also some talk that Samsung wanted to do a WORLDWIDE launch that includes the US.
Thus the delay in the GSIII (GSII Was announced Feb 13, 2011, we are well over the one year release cycle).
Samsung misses out a huge US market when it fails to launch HOT products early. So I can see them trying to launch in the US too, well I'm hoping that .
I don't think I want a quad core phone.... Think of the battery life.
Has anyone heard or seen legitimate proof that Jellybean will be coming to our phones in an OTA update? I'm with Rogers, not AT&T but the phones are interchangeable.
I know that all Google Nexus products kind of have first dibs on Jellybean but heard that the GS3 will be receiving it also. Asking my local Rogers employees is useless and scanning the internet is only reminding me that I can root and ROM it, something I've done before but had too many complications with to bother.
Anyone got any leads? Appreciate it.
Sent from my SGH-I727R using xda app-developers app
Nothing legitimate, only rumor. Initially it was Q4,but that seems increasingly unlikely as the GS3 will get it before we do.
I'm guessing, honestly, that they're watching CM progress/support. I know other companies do that to determine if they will release something for a given device. Since we still have official support there, odds may be better; but really at this point Samsung is the only one that knows for sure.

Sprint has a leak and Samsung Sweden said November for international.
There is a thread discussion for jelly bean related in general section. But I think if we do get it, it won't be till next year some time.

Doesn't Sprint GS3 have the official jb?
From what I heard, the battery life is poor cause it's not well optimized.

Fat chance of the SR getting it before March. The AT&T S3 might not even get it until January.
Stock ICS on my S3
I was curious about this as well, But mostly for my GS III. Today while visiting with the AT&T Rep that I have been dealing with ONLY for the last 10 years, she confirmed to me that the SR will be getting the official JB update, but not to look for it available OTA until around mid Q2 2013 to early Q3.
Just as liquidzoo stated because of the activity for the skyrocket, and it is still having NEW sales AT&T has valued it in their support. JB of course will most likely be the LAST update that is handed down from AT&T for the SR. The S III is likely to get it's last update at JB as well. It was some good news, but even better she bought me lunch too.
Some times it pays to be loyal to a single rep, instead of just taking which ever is available. I wont let anyone else handle my account with AT&T aside of her.
did anyone see this sweetness!! granted its on the international phone but damn it has some sweet goodies like the dual view and more!!
http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/29741-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-gets-android-412-update
can we just skip to 4.1.2 verizon!!!
Lol why even tease this to us? VZW is all focused on bringing out their next new 'DROIDS', bloating up, and leaving Android updates to previous phones in the dust *cough* Galaxy Nexus *cough*. I F*cking hate you Verizon.

Do we really need a new thread every two weeks mentioning a JB update for the S3 that doesn't apply to Verizon customers in the Verizon forum?
These are about as helpful as a "first" post but about 10 times more annoying.

Im not trying to be a smart ass, but i for on think this update with the dual view and some other note II goodies mixed in with it is quite the info. You dont have to read it if you dont like it clearly states what it is about in the subject and you could have not clicked on it.

but because the hardware is so different this is mostly pointless for the US variants, no?

Next year would be amazing, I doubt Verizon will even release this because by the time they get 4.1.1 the S4 will likely be making its debut
Anyone have success at upgrading eariler. My contract is not up for upgrade till may, but I would like to try a little earlier. Anyone have had success, I can get this phone for cheap on Amazon wireless. However, I'm not sure I can upgrade before the date listed on my accont.
Just wait for the S4. Its an s3 but bigger and better

And no, mail order places also check your upgrade date or they would have to pay the difference in price.
My two year contract wasn't up until August, so I wasn't due to upgrade from my dinc2 until April. I managed to get an early upgrade in December. It took three phone calls to Verizon, each one giving them the spiel about how the dinc2 was "promised" ICS and never got it and the fact that I wanted to take advantage of the 4G in my area. Maybe I finally got a rep that had a cool manager...or a manager that also got shafted with the dinc2...Good luck...for me, persistence paid off.

wait and get the S4, but also wait until you see if the bootloader is unlocked.....
Better off getting an S4 since it will be released when your contract is up.

Or if you're just looking for bigger than upgrade to a note 2 because the s4 is the s3 with little to no difference or better yet drop verizon and get a unlocked phone and free yourself. Lol in all honesty the s4 is NOT worth waiting for... Check the reviews

I wouldn't trust reviews from people who don't own the phone. And not just because its "bigger" it does have great software and hardware upgrades.
