Hello everyone. As you know, ever since the whole stagefright bug thing and google & other companies said they will be launching regular OTA updates on a monthly basis.
I'm using window 8.1 x64
Android version Lollipop 5.1.1 LMY48B
USB debugging and MTP are ENABLED.
My nexus 5 is NOT rooted, I have some system apps DISABLED from app settings, I HAD CUSTOM recovery (latest twrp) to use teenf00t's (Nexus 5 real volume booster).
But now STOCK recovery is flashed and volume xml paths files were set back to default
NO CUTOM ROM's or Kernel or anything else.
Still couldn't use OTA update normally
And since I can't download & flash a whole new system img and back up & restore my data just for a 10 mb update every month, I need to ADB sideload the OTA update , and here comes the problem .
Obviously, when my nexus is connected when it's turned on or in bootloader, nothing is wrong. As soon as I get into recovery mode and the device becomes undetected.
I tried EVERYTHING I could find which is :
1- Got the latest Minimal ADB & Fastboot installed
2- Used latest ADB & drivers 15 seconds installer
3- Latest google USB drivers
4- Lg united mobile driver
5- Manually assign composite ADB interface driver to nexus in "portable devices" when it's connected in recovery mode.
6- Modify "android_winusb.inf" file with the hardware ID of the nexus found in the inactive "composite ADB interface" driver when connected in recovery, and installing it using advanced windows 8 boot to remove digital signature verification requirement :
In the x64 & x86 "nexus generic" tab of inf file I replaced this line :
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4EE2&MI_01
with this :
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4EE2&REV_0232&MI_01
7- I tried different USB ports
8- Made sure ADB runs in compatibility mode with windows 8 but its process still shows "ADB 32"
And ofc, when removing or installing drivers or ADB, I made sure the previous ones were uninstalled and restarted pc when necessary.
What the hell can I do for this damn thing to work ??!!
EDIT : SOLVED : U seriously need a delete feature here. Anyway the problem was I didn't open the options menu while in recovery mode. I did that, found windows installing new driver then did step 5 and now worked

Please let me know if it also works for you (add your exact Device Name)
You will need:
Samsung Device Firmware type in exactly your device name, then select country/provider and download the newest version for you Android version
WinRAR of cours (on Windows)
SkipSoft Unified Android Toolkit
Samsung USB Driver (if you haven't them already)
and Odin
Instructions
1. Open the downloaded firmware .zip archive and extract the content. Then open the extracted .tar.md5 archive again with WinRAR and extract boot.img
2. Install SkipSoft Unified Android Toolkit
3. Copy the boot.img file to the INPUT folder in the installation path of the Toolkit
4. Start it and write 99 for Basic Android Toolkit (and wait for the Downloads to finish if you are using it the first time)
5. Type 8, enter, 2, enter, check if only the boot.img file is listend, then type yes
6. Copy the .tar file from the OUTPUT folder to a folder of your liking
7. Install the USB Drivers
8. Power down your Phone and hold the [VolumeDOWN + POWER + HOME] to enter Download Mode (to confirm press [VolumeUP])
9. Start Odin and Connect you Phone to you PC. If the Device is detected properly the Log box should say something similar to "<ID:0/004> Added!!"
10. press the AP button (formerly PDA) and choose the .tar file you created befor
11. Then press start. If Odin was successful in the left corder should be a green square saying passed
IF UNSUCCESFUL: try using a USB 2.0 usb port on you PC/Laptop if you have one. On PCs try using the motherboard ports on the back

I cannot locate INPUT and OUTPUT folders in c:\Unified_Android_Toolkit and confused. Stuck at this stage. Do I create the folder myself? Please advise. Thanks

INPUT folder must be created and the OUPUT folder will be created by the tool

Hello.
I have this problem on a Galaxy J5 (SM-J500FN), but I can't download anything in download mode even with Odin, it fails every time. The phone gives a message reading MDM MODE CAN'T DOWNLOAD

I lost my IMEI again when flashing as firmware upgrade from stock to Mad 7.1. It all began when I had a no sim card issue and I wrongly did a "format and download" Anyway, the phone works okay on stock after manually adding IMEI. My question is
1. Can I flash IMEI after I do a fresh install of MAD 8.1 with a TWRP recovery using SN write tool? ( I'm almost sure I'll lose my IMEI even if I'm on firmware upgrade mode)
2. You suggested earlier about doing a clean install of MAD 8.1 as stock. Is there a scatter file for that in the Apollo_lite_All zip? I didn't proceed as I wanted to know if I could flash IMEI after I do flash TWRP recovery.

I do not know exactly what file it is and for which device is (in your Link)
In Apollo Lite All zip if you extract the file, inside included and the stock rom...If you extract stock rom will find "scatter" BUT ! STOCK ROM SCATTER !!
(scatter of mados 8.1 included on mados 8.1 zip if you extract this)

The stock OS my phone came with has corrupted itself. It gets to the android screen then resets. Im trying to reinstall the stock OS using SP flash tool but when I select the scatter.txt file i get "Error scatter file invalid". Im using the ROM file from Vernee's website.
Any help??

The problem maybe is in File

Unfortunately doesn't support MT6797 (you can not use it anymore to backup MT67xx chipsets)
did you install VCOM drivers and android CDC drivers? So,you can try with some other tool , depending on what you want to do...
Read in OP, there are many different tools...

The official website downloads and the ones uploaded here saying "stock" full_k15tb_a-ota-1508410813 etc are OTAs and the scatter files on these don't load on SP flash tools.
Look for these file types. They have a good scatter file. You won't get the errors!

spft error 00xc0050003 is a matter of poorly installed drivers,maybe an old version SPFT etc...
the files in the OP works properly and I have used hundreds of times - by me and other users (scatter that contained in the file works fine)

Unfortunately, they didn't work for me. Which is why I replied to another persons query. The error message I got was invalid scatter file. Upon opening the scatter file in a text editor as well looked different. None of the links in the OP had a working scatter file for me. At the same tine both mad os 7.x and 8.x scatter files always worked.
I'm my opinion its more helpful to specify one SP flash version that works with one zip. Neither the Vernee Apollo Lite Pack All zip version, nor the one on the website worked for me. Windows 10, Nov update. Fresh Windows OS installs, VCom drivers etc. I've ruled out all of those along with random SP flash tool versions.
I just wanted to say, if you get an invalid scatter file error, perhaps worth trying what i suggested as well. It works well for me. Ever since my IMEI got wiped going back to stock is very often a routine, maybe not 100 times but many times.
How Do I use secure boot on legacy bios? My pc is currently using legacy bios. Can I use secure boot on it or do I have to change to UEFI?

What are U trying to do Bro ?
I myself, still using BIOS instead UEFI in 2021 !!
I have tried installed three different platform of operating systems and the latest one, the result is just fine for me.
U need, somehow, udpate/upgrade/flash the chip in your motherboard if using Windows 11 (TPM 2.0 is required!). Please, refer to your manual manufacturer ! Careful !

The thing is I want the official version which will roll out later this year. I have TPM the only thing remaining is secure boot. If you say it's dangerous then I will wait till the media creation tool of Win 11 is available.

win installation boot media ---> yeah, thats a good idea.
If your motherboad already has TPM 2.0, it mostly eligible for WIN 11.
If dont, then Update the firmware (if available)! Careful here!
For Using secure boot in legacy BIOS, just open your BIOS settings, find Compatibility Support Module (CSM) -- CSM Boot in Boot Menu Mode. That enables you to boot with legacy BIOS mode.
If your motherboad didnt support it, upgrade the firmware --if available.
Here is some tricks to try, for Installing WIN 11 on "Legacy" Devices:

First trick:
---------------
1.Copy the ‘sources’ folder from win10 ISO and pasting it to win11 ISO.
2.Copy the appraiserres.dll file from the ‘sources’ folder of win10 ISO, then paste it to the ‘sources’ folder of win11 ISO.
3.Now, Try Installing the Win11 ISO !

Second trick, Assuming, you could run WIn10 on Your PC ! if not, just skip this!
1.prepare win10 ISO & win11 ISO
2.Burn the win10 ISO into A FD
3.Burn the win11 into another FD
4.Install WIn11
5.If then, Stucked at "This PC can't wun Windows 11" screen.
-use another PC
-mount the win11 ISO
-go to "sources" folder
-find "install.win" file
-copy and paste it on your FD that contain win10 installation media!
choose Replace the file, if a pop up screen comes up!
-Now, try booting from that FD, till U surpass the "Annoying" Screen before!

Well then I won't go that deeper but thanks. Now that I see it's better to wait for the Media Creation Tool. That way I think I won't have to give up my legacy bios. I read somewhere that Win 11 is gonna be unstable till few updates and.... It's better to wait for the Media Creation Tool.
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards. You are choosing to follow this thread, and you are responsible for any mess !Requirements:
- Windows 8.1 or above 64-bit with Admin rights (Windows 10 64 bit recommended)
- Python Installed
- Original USB Cable provided by Realme
- At least 10GB of internet
Steps:
1. Download the tools attached below
2. In Driver/cdc-acm folder you will find cdc-acm.inf, right click and install it (You need to disable core isolation from windows security settings, if enabled)
3. Install libusb-win32-devel-filter-1.2.6.0.exe
4. Open libusb-filter-tool
5. Connect your device to your pc while pressing and holding volume up, volume down button together
6. You will see Mediatek USB PORT (COM X), select and install it and disconnect your device (Switch off your device in case, it turned on)
7. Now extract the firmware (which is in zip file), you will see a .ofp in the extracted files, use oppo_decrypter tool (link below) to extract the ofp file
8. Open SP Flash tool which is provided below and select MT6853 Scatter from wherever you extracted the ofp file, after that you need to uncheck opporeserve, special_preload, my_custom, cdt engineering
9. (USE Download only option) click on download button
10. Open MTKMETAUtility.exe and select Disable Auth
11. Connect your phone in the same USB port and with same method as above
12. SP Flash Tool should start flashing the device, after the flashing is done, disconnect and press power-button for 10+ secs to reboot, it will reboot into recovery
13. Make sure to Format Data (Yes, not wipe data, use FORMAT DATA), it should reboot automatically after you will press ok
14. Done !!!!

You can follow these steps but try using the chinese firmware (Realme Q2), Sorry, I do not have any video tutorial for this.
