Bravo ROM for XT720 ? - Milestone XT720 General

Hello,
somebody told me there is a such called "Bravo ROM". Is that ROM compatible with XT720 ? I heard it is based on the Stock ROM .
If there is such a ROM, can you please point me the thread where I can download it? I tried to search it but I couldn't get an exact answer.
Thank you.

[ROM][2011.12.31] Update MMS app and SEARCH key unlock function< Bravo2.2-V1.9-XT720>
FYI I don't think its being supported anymore

That's funny because I just installed Bravo a couple of days ago.
It's the first time I tried it and I love it so far.
After trying so many different roms I thinks it might be the best and most stable for my needs.
I know it's old but it does what it should and doesn't try to do things our xt720's are not designed to do anyway.

Well, Thanks for answering to my thread. So, do you recommend it ? I am not sure if it is better than CronosX . At this moment I am using it and it doesn't freeze and it is also very nice looking, although I have some problems with the camera . After I take a picture, sometimes, it restarts .

[Q] ROMs...

this is my first time flashin A Rom,n i would like to know which is the best ROM for a beginner like me thanks
Btw i installed Ryans one click lag fix and im running Eclair 2.1 update 1 , i897ucjh7
Kernel version: 2.6.29.
They are all about the same when it comes to flashing. after that its usually personal preference. Be sure to read the stickies and they will telly you everything you need to know.

This will get locked because each Rom performs differently on each device. There really is no way to tell you which is best. Please read the rom threads and flash one to see how you like it.
This is my Captivate. There are many like it but this one is mine.

Shouldn't of done that, flash to stock using the odin one click restore then install a rom of your choice, there's plenty to choose from.

Rooting/roms/flashing HELP

Hi. Im fairly new to the Android OS. I just switched from an iphone. And ive been seeing/hearing a lot of talk about rooting, flashing roms, etc. I know that there are probably many threads on this, but I just wanted to know what are the pros and cons of rooting, flashing roms and such. And if I decide to do so, how do I? What rom would be best (for my sgs4g)? Sorry if this was too muxh to ask. Thanks in advance

Well right now, the best ROM you can have is Gingerbread, which just came out recently.
Rooting is very similar to Jailbreaking when it comes to iPhone; it allows you to perform speed tweaks, and enable functionality not available on standard software.
As for flashing these ROMs, make sure you download a program called ODIN.
Before that, install the Samsung USB Drivers and read THIS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
I compiled a few tutorials on some various tweaks on my site as well, and have a few download links for files if you need them.
Good luck!

Im not sure that Gingerbread would be the best choice right now for someone just starting out. It appears that the ROM that whitehawkx just releases still has a few bugs to be worked out. I would say that Bionix is probably a better choice for the moment.
Hah thanks. But I just had a few more questions. Do I need to be rooted to install gingerbread? Is flashing necessary? And is installing the new software just as easy as jailbreaking like an iphone?

First off. Post in the correct section. This belongs in General. Please try searching before making a new thread. You know that this has been answered several times in multiple threads. I came from and Iphone too and I took the time to do the research. First just go to the Bible for SGS 4G. You'll find it here in this section. Make sure you read everything. I too was a noob but I took the time to read everything before posting a new thread on what's been answered just for your convenience.

I would suggest doing TONS of reading on all the topics related to flashing/rooting/etc... Another reason why I think Gingerbread would be a bad choice for you right now is because I don't think ClockworkMod works with it yet. Without CWM you won't be able to do things like installing zips from your SD card and doing complete backups of your phone in case you mess something up. Yes, you will need to be rooted in order to flash to a new ROM. Flashing is only necessary if you want a ROM. Like what you have? Then don't flash.
Android is a pretty easy OS to use when you get used to it. But make sure that you take it slow and read everything carefully. Hope this helps.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone.. I'll be sure to look into this morw before I decide what to do.

Ehh, I've been running on Gingerbread and aside from a single bluetooth issue, I really have no complaints.
Bionix is a good choice too, though. You may be right in suggesting that as a beginners ROM.
So, Go with Bionix, edwenoid, it'll allow you to do many more tweaks.
Remember, this might seem pretty complicated at first, but I've had a Galaxy S 4G for only about a month now and i'm not too bad at this whole tweaking thingamajig

[Q] Samsung Transfix

I'm looking for anything and everything even remotely related to a different ROM/OS/MOD for my transfix. I've looked high and low and the only thing I could find is how to root it, and that's all I've been able to do so far. Is there anyone that could either provide me with some sort of ROM, or at least point me in the right direction?
-sadface- I guess there aren't any mods for it yet?
Sent from my SCH-R730 using XDA
Nope no ROMS yet..Need a working CWM port first.
Ah man... That makes me sad. My girlfriend has a rooted Epic 4G touch and won't let me put Cyanogen on it.

This thread claims to be looking for beta-testers for a Transfix Rom:
http://androidforums.com/transfix-all-things-root/540125-rom-_-wip-anthrax-0-1-beta.html
I would beta test if I knew how to do all of the stuff they say I need to.
Sent from my SCH-R730 using XDA
Well, it seems like a CWM port is on the way, which will go a long ways into doing any roms for this phone. Believe me I feel your pain, I hate stock, especially when a custom ROM would do wonders for the hardware in this phone (Like DTA2SD & updated Adreno drivers). All we can do is be patient and start with the custom recovery.

[Q] Roms and HDMI for XT720 Milestone

So, being thrifty, I got my hands one one of these buggers, and want to trick it out.
I rooted it,
Installed openrecovery
Put a CM9 Rom on it. Couldn't get the Play store to install.
So, I popped on fj's CM7 rom, it was buggy as all get out.
Installed Chronos Ginger X, liked it, but couldn't get HDMI to work. Requires Motorola's gallery and the like, which I can't find.
Went to unlock the phone, couldn't because the SIM tools weren't in the rom...
Struggled for 3 days with RSDLite to install an SBF. Seriously some buggy software on Windows 7. Finally had to dig up an XP laptop and it's parts to get it to flash.
So, I'm looking for recommendations. I want the highest version possible, but CM9 is far too buggy. CM7 seems the way to go. So either FJfalcon's Kang, or Chronos X. Anyone know how to get HDMI working on Chronos X? Would the 2.1 Motorola apps work on 2.3.7 if I ripped them out with Titanium backup? I would ask in the dev thread but my count is pretty dismal.
Thanks in advance if anyone hears this quite plea in the dark.
Which cm9 were you using i have got market to work on all of them.

As stated in the topic, I have the Milestone, from Cincinnati Bell.
The CM9 Rom I used was from this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1537122
Used the 07-Aug-2012 08:49 file as the last build posted was not documented.
When I couldn't get the playstore to load without immediately crashing (I did get it to install, just not work) I tried a modified one from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951275
that supposedly had a working playstore. But it too force closed.
I'm not dead set on CM9, though I would like it. I work with Gamemaker studio, so at least 2.2 is needed, CronosX covers most of that, just couldn't get the HDMI to work.
I very much appreciated your speedy reply
Google (xt720 mods) their are many mods that you can try.

So your recommendation is that instead of using any of the roms found on XDA, I instead google search XT720 Mods

If you need HDMI, Mioze's CM6.3.7 (Froyo) is your best bet. Its also a great ROM in all aspects.

Thank you. I will try it out. I don't necessarily need it, but I would like it. Any well constructed ROM 2.2 or above will do.

My apologies, I do not know if English is your native language. One reads text, they do not listen to it unassisted.
Additionally, I find using Google to search for mods and Roms that are on these forums to be redundant, as I can search here. I did indeed type "XT720 Mods" into Google, and other than this forum and Modmyandroid.com found nothing of value. All the links in modmyandroid are dead, or lead here. However, Basmatek understood my question and provided an answer that I am going to attempt.
I thank you both for your assistance.

Post a screenshot of your about phone screen. If the kernel build has a mid july build date, then it is leak 1 and you can go back to GB using my script in the dev section.
Otherwise you can only run ICS based ROMs (yes you can run any ROM that is ICS based, just not GB based ones).
If you have issues it is easy to use the ICS FXZ, as we did not have that yet when leak one and two were out. Hence the issues and bricks. You MUST know which version of the phone though (ATT, Asian, or HK) To properly use an FXZ, or you have a chance to brick.
Had to break out my optimus v, and I would like to personally thank you for responding so quick. I expected to get really beat up I have been following you all for years and I know how it is horrible to be redundant here. Well my new friend it looks like I am on week 2. I do not know what to do where I should go from here but I will tell you what more stable even stock would be better even if it is a ICS leak. I don't know why they call it a leak if it came over the air does that mean AT&T in Motorola send out experimental software? the fact that I'm posting speaks to the power that this phone is an anomaly. Through the years I have never once had to post. All of my hard questions have been answered by you all in advance.

thank you, does this tell you that I'm on the second leak? I don't know where to look to find out how to install a permanent recovery.. I suppose I'll have to use boostrap.. scary concept....

Think that's official. It's same as I have, and i fxz'd to official 4.0.4.
Going back to gingerbread is worthless. It'd be like going from Windows 7 back to xp.
We don't use bootstrap anymore, and If you have I'd fxz to stock, root it, and then install boot menu manager, or BMM. then can flash the newer stuff.
But be aware the what your on and Numa are the only fully functional and stable ones we have.

wow that is incredible. And there is a lot of love in this place. I appreciate that. My next move is to borrow my friends laptop as mine has died and get started hopefully this weekend. I will report the results. Did I say you guys were awesome? Voice love this place and I cannot wait to start my classes, I'm going to study Linux and computer technology at the local community college here. And from there who knows. Anyways thank you to you all and many like you for the inspiration I cannot wait to get my girls phone working 100 percent again.. Now to focus on the other problem I will try to read the thread and then I'll post later the screen seems possessed like it touches on its own I don't know if its a digitizer or a program problem because it seems to come and go at different times of the month. Very bizarre. Anyways thank you any tips are appreciated and I will keep you informed on this little project, and I'm going to start Searching the threads hoping I have the answer to someone else's question
