I've been having a continuous battery drainage on my tan 7.7 for about a week, plus several crashes, forced reboots and the hangs and stops every two minutes.
I tried several solutions that didn't work until I reflashed the official rom, I thought then it was solved, I but the problem appeared again. I I opened the battery use from the settings and saw something really strange View attachment 1548697
I've never seen this process (MEDIA) using so much battery. I've used the force stop but didn't get any better.
Any solutions folks?

Try to clean up your battery stat via cwm recovery.

It is your mediascanner running.
I suppose you got some huge directorys with many files inside.
you can stop it, but it will restart anyway until it is done indexing.

Hi,
Got my phone a week back..The problem started to occur a few days ago,my phone started to freeze often.Touchscreen stopped responding.I had to remove the battery n boot to get the phone working again.
I look forward to seeing your replies. Please feel free to ask me further details . Happy New Year. Thanks in advance
Have you tried calling the fone when this happens? I'm interested if this is the same problem as with mine....
I've also had the touchscreen freeze out a couple of times but that's usually after an app has crashed or I've stressed the system, I find that locking then unlocking the scren brings it back to life

I don't want to be a negative person here but mine started like that, I though it was just because the system was running too many apps or I haven't freed the ram. It's now shutting off by itself.
I hope yours don't progress to my problem.
Such a nice fone but these problems make me think otherwise.
Have u found out any solutions .

I thought ^ was one of the GB's features. shuts down rogue or non responsive apps.
@venkatraman did u try factory reset??
take a backup from CWM if you havent already and make a reset from there...
Tell me if that works...if doesnt that clear all the Ram from Task Manager

I already factory reset by pressing vol up+power then middle button. The thing is, my problem is not really freezing screen but auto shutdown.

Factory reset didnt help either..It works for a while and the problem repeats all over again
A phone with this much memory and dual core CPU shouldn't behave like this.
sometimes when you move your finger to the screen as close as possible without touching though...it can cause freezings.
I had the same problem. Initially the phone used to freeze and I used to remove and replace the battery again. But then the phone started crashing and it reached a point today where the phone would freeze upon booting at Samsung screen. I held the VolumeUP+Home button while booting and did a "Wipe cache" and its been working fine since.
Cheers!
Yep, it seems a common issue. Mine does the same. I haven't flashed any custom ROMs or kernel after I got it from service just to see if it was the problem. But it started shutting down by itself a couple of days ago with increasing frequency. I removed all recently added apps + juice defender and others that may be messing with the hardware with no change.
P.S. I have to take out and replace the battery to restart it, and there is always a battery drain afterwards.
Hi,
After I did a 'wipe cache' in recovery, my phone didnt crash for one full day. Now again it has started crashing at random.
Kindly note that its been 2 months since i bought the phone and there were no problems with it.. But few days back there was not power and hence my mobile got switched off due to battery drain.. And from the next day onwards this problem has started.
Any of you guys think its a battery issue? - battery calibration issue perhaps? Should i perform a 'wipe battery stats' in recovery?
Kindly advice.
Thanks.
Didn't work for me, I wiped dalvik cache and battery stats and it worked fine for a couple of days, but then i shut down again. I'm going for factory reset next.
BTW mine shuts down only when the screen is off, never while I'm using it.
@reymysterio7 do you get battery drain after?
Yeah mate. There was significant battery drain. Right now I've done a factory reset-flashed 2.3.6 austria-flashed titanium v2.1-wipe cache/dalvik cache-wipe battery stats. Keeping my fingers crossed

UPDATE : My phone started its random shut downs again. But one thing Ive figured for sure is that it happens only when the network signal is low or fluctuating.

no need to clear the dalvik cache, just clear the cache and do factor rest it may help you and check the recent application which you have installed and remove them..

Yeah i was using go launcher.. Now ive formatted everything.. including usb memory... and flashed stock firmware I9103XWKI5.. Its as good as a new 1st day phone now... Even now if it shutsdown then its definitely not a software issue..

It shut down again - When signal became low!! - When i rebooted, again it shutdown while connecting to network. I removed sim and booted it worked fine. Then i went outdoors and booted with sim, it did not shutdown.
It definitely not a software issue coz I had formatted EVERYTHING and the phone was as good as new. Its not battery issue coz phone does not have issues without sim inserted. Its either hardware (motherboard probably) or SIM card problem.. I'm gonna get a new sim on monday and check it.. This sucks!!!
UPDATE : I tried with other sim - it still shutdown after 10 mins I used my present sim on a S2 and it worked fine...
UPDATE - ISSUE RESOLVED : I took it to the service center, the issue was a faulty USB connector. They replaced it and the issue seems to have been resolved. For more have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24263158#post24263158
After a short period of time when the tablet sleeps it hardly ever wakes when I tap the power button. This issue only started a couple of days ago and seems to have gotten worse after today's update and I have owned the tablet since launch. Sometimes it will wake up right away, sometimes it takes a few clicks and other times it won't wake up until I reboot. The camera's firmware wouldn't update today either it kept staying that there was an error during install, but it did so after I shutdown the tablet and kept it off for several hours. I have tried several cold boots and cache wipes and even did a factory reset. Yet the problem persists.
Anyone have any ideas?
I've had this problem too, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue yet. I'm working on isolating the issue by disabling apps that are running in the background one by one until I see the problem go away.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's one of the first things I tried. It did seem to work in the beginning but doesn't now. And I usually keep my battery above 40% and brightness just below 50%.

I had these problems as well when playing spotify and screen went in sleep mode.
Then after a couple of days it started doing it with or without spotify playing in the background...
Have you tried disabling WiFi sleep?
Hey,
I had this problem for over a month. Tried factory reset, tried cold boot. Wifi settings didn't help, build.prop tweaks didn't help.
I pretty much lost any hope and just waited for a Jelly'oh'Bean.
Well, in the meantime, there was a .30 update.
I wanted to prepare my tab for it and restored an original build.prop, did a temporary unroot.
What I did wrong, was to restore a wrong build.prop and i wasn't able to boot anymore.
Only option I had left was to manually update the tab with .26 update with SD card.
I have also wiped everything.
Of course I didn't have any backup.
So, fresh installation so to speak, without titanium backup restores.
Next day the .30 update came and i applied it, but I installed apps from market, not from backup.
Since than, I didn't had a wake-up problem again!
So, my recommendation is (i know there is some work to be done, but it worked for me), wipe, update, install from market.
I am pretty sure one of the apps is playing a dirty game!
Hope it helps.
Attached is my current build. I''m having major issues as of late. My phone will randomly shut off without any prior warning and will constantly vibrate. It's odd because it will do it at very random times with no interval of each other and it will happen even with the phone plugged in or not plugged in. This has been occurring ever since I upgraded to JellyBean. It will go 7/8 hours without a shutdown, or it can shutdown 10 times in 1 hour. It's non predictable and inevitable.
PLEASE help.

I've read that elsewhere and tried cleaning it without opening it, no results. Could it be something else? I'm kinda nervous about unscrewing and opening up the back of my phone honestly.
Just an update: I've now flashed stock ICS using Odin3 v1.85 using I727UCLF6_I727ATTLF6_I727UCLF6_HOME.tar.md5
The problem is still happening. It just occured again at 32% battery while plugged in.
I've ordered a new battery hoping to reslove the issue. Any other suggestions as I wait for the new battery? If it is in fact a sticky power button, how would I go about cleaning / repairing this? I'm pretty good with electronics so any help here is appreciated
Hey people!
I've had my Ace Plus for a while now, and there's one problem that's getting on my nerves. A year or so ago, I rooted the thing, and then accidentally updated the OS- causing it to be soft-bricked. I fixed that by following one of the many guides and reinstalling android, and it works perfectly now- except for the random moments where it reboots without warning, sometimes more than once per day, sometimes not for a week, when I'm using it, but also when it's just sitting there or on the charger. Especially the last is annoying, since it will not reboot but just show the battery status if charging.
Seeing that the problem started after I bricked it that first time, I don't think it's an app that's causing it. I've tried 'unbricking' it a few times (always following guides). I also tried underclocking it (no result) and I even tried running a logger overnight a few times, which also didn't manage to catch the reason for the reboot when it did happen.
I did repair my sister's bricked phone once by not only flashing the PDA file, but also the bootloader, csc, modem and pit file. Is that what I need to do with mine? If so, where do I find these?
I still see it as a fine phone, and even though I'm ready to go get a better one, I was wondering what else I could try to find out what is happening/stop it from happening.
Thanks in advance, even if it's just for reading!
Hello, I am using galaxy S3 stock rom and my phone keeps shutting down/rebooting when I am using it. Sometimes I let it charge and 20 minutes later it turns off and I have to try many times to boot it. Many times I let my phone on airplane mode at night at 53% battery and It drains completely. I tried other batteries but still the same thing. Did anyone ever experience this?
Thanks

If you're sure it's not a battery problem, and you've run a battery calibration after backup, factory reset, and restore, just to be completely positive, you might want to see if it is a power button issue. The internals of the button get stuck every so often, and I found that when it was usable, I still got huge battery drain, and sometimes turning off and on by itself. There was a place near me that fixed the button on my S4 mini for $15, worked just like new.
I found that the phone was losing battery when when turned off, try leaving it off overnight and if it drains, it's probably an issue with the button.
If it's just a software problem, then that won't help. What does the OS say is using the battery? Maybe check for wakelocks with a battery saving app, I'm sure someone could recommend something

I had a problem which was similar to this but the phone I got is LYF Flame 7.
My phone was automatically shutting down a few minutes after the device is locked, I investigated every setting to check whether anything like auto shutting down or sleep or something was enabled , but every settings were okay but the problem continued.
When I bought this phone, I was disabled a lot of useless stock apps . I re-enabled all these apps to their default and then the problem is solved.
So you just try reverting your apps to their default,if you have tried to disabled it.
Clear its Cache and Misc
Also try a factory reset and try to boot the phone without any SIM cards and SD card.
In my knowledge , I think , the problem of your phone is software related and hardware is okay.
And keep investigating in S3 threads.
