ok this is the MIUImusic.apk that was dumped from the miui rom
the difference with this version is that i have resigned it so that it can be installed like a normal application for those of us who do not have root access or for people who do have root access and are just to lazy to manually place it in the system
Instructions:
1. download the SignedMiuiMusic.apk
2. place on your sdcard
3. run the .apk via a file manager like astro
4. install and enjoy

Works on fascinate dj05. Thanks!!
Works great on nexus s. Nice music app
It even works great on the Xperia X8 of my girlfriend! Thank you!
/edit: one question: is this apk different from the Miui Music of Darkys v8?

i think its the same only the background is blue not purple.
the whole idea behind this is that all the other miuimusic downloads require root access to place the apk directly into the system folder, by resigning it, it allows people to just install it without root like a normal market type application, which i was surprised no one had done before
but yeah pretty sure its the same miuimusic build as in darkys
What's so good about this player ... I do not see any features different than the stock. Actually it seems like it has less features than the stock..

stock android player ?, it has everything the stock one has as far as i can tell
but i guess the main benefit is the eyecandy its looks much nicer than the stock android player and i actually prefer it even over my htc music player
its just personal preference its android its all about choice
still prefer TTPod.. both comes with english version.

I just deinstalled the Miui Music on my SGS via SGS Tools and installed this one. And you are right! They are the same. No differences, besides of the color. And I prefer the blue one much more
And I LOVE the Miui Music Player! It looks fantastic, it is easy to use and the automatic (and fast!) lyric download is great!
I hated the stock MP3 Player on my SGS. Even Mix Zing or Cubed did not fully satisfy me. I always prefered the iPod App on my iPhone 3g.
But the Miui Music Player is just awesome (for me)!
Works great on my x10,also perfectly fits phone own blue theme!
Thanks a lot!

Any chance of a LDPI version?
Go to admit this player is stunning.
I didn't see much difference from the Stock player, then I started to really play with it.
The lyric download is very accurate.
Love the little sound bars when playing and the widget is nice and compact and even shows the artwork.
Genius...

i switched from miui to ttpod as well.
ttpod has better lyric support (bigger display screen for lyrics, can select lyrics if more than one version exists) and it can play music from a specific folder.
also, ttpod doesnt have the visualization on the play window which appears sluggish on my phone on miui player.
cons: ttpod doesnt have a widget.
Does anyone know how to get last.fm working? That is the only thing holding me back.
I like it
Works great on a EVO. I think the EQ is cool, i like eye candy
THanks for your hardwork! This is awesome.
I tried MIUI and the only thing I liked about it was the music app and the contacts/phone app.
Can I request if you have time to do the same thing with the contacts/phone app so that I can install that as a separate apk also?
Or if you don't mind. can you PM me the steps on how you ripped and signed it and I can figure it out =).
Great work!
Works great on x10

the biggest con for me with ttpod was there wasn't a now playing screen. That's frustrating beyond belief. If I select a song, then start fishing through my library, I should be able to get back to that song and album view with the touch of a button. Also, it needs to be more customizable. I hate that background.
MIUI is cool. I like it. I'm at a point now where there a few music players I like, all have pros and cons, and so I just take the smallest one for memory purposes.
Friens finally TTpod has release its 2.5 version and its the best ever android music player out there. awsome skins. Now also has equalizer. Has 3 screens with visualizations.
Feature list will be nice..
Edit: Market says 2.3.4 so how you got 2.5?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
Thanks for the share buddy.... I will try it for sure!!!
I tried the one the market (2.4.1), and it's really great!
The UI is really intuitive and pretty (3 skins), the integration of lyrics too. The widget has lot of features, display song progression, lyrics too, even on over the homescreen by one click.
Only drawback, the way we browse through the library is unfinished.
If I start looking at an artist, I would like to then see the albums.
For now all the artist's songs get mixed up even with correctly tagged mp3 files.
And it doesn't find as much lyrics as Wikitune or Lyrics app.
There is more info of the 2.5 here : http://mobileplanet-waryam.blogspot.com/2011/08/ttpod-v250-beta-250-android-apk-app.html
TTPod was my favourite player on symbian, on android i did not like it so much, but i will try it again.
I like it.! Better then stock n other paid apps. ( wont mention names). When there's a song playing n its on my screen how do I add to favorites? On the sane screen? .... I kno I can hit list then the song then the heart. Is there an easy 1 touch way. alot safer when driving ..... thanks for sharing this!

You mean audio manager by dsp manager?
NM found it is from cyanogen
I agreee that that there may be some other music player out there with more features. But let me tell you that none of them run as smoothly as this one on a low profile device such as HTC Wildfire with froyo. So its clear that it uses less resources. And while using other music players while changing settings on equaliser the mini second pause is clearly evident on a low profile phone. But TT-pod solves that for me. Hence for me its the best and more importantly you allhave to agree that none of the players are visually so appealing as this one even the MIUI player
Is anyone else's recommend and online music sections in Chinese?

Inbuilt EQ? Does this matter since we have DSP Manager? I don't think so. A argument for the stock music player is the nice integration into the statusbar, but the rest of the UI in my sight is horrible. It isn't even compatible with changed LCD Density. I feel much more comfortable with the Google Music UI. But that is a personal opinion and thus we can't say this, or stock music, or what else is better.
I've attached the newer version of google music. Extract and simply install. No need to push it anywhere.
EDIT: Upload doesn't work. Everytime the forum says "Upload failed." I'll try later
EDIT2: Upload succeded. P.S. I had two apks when I looked into my download folder one with version 4.0.9.509 and one unnamed that was actually newer: Version 4.1.511
@ taraen
ya...u are right. It depends upon personal opinion but I have opbserved very cleanly that definitely default music player's inbuilt equilizer is really better than any other equilizer that we install in our phone. I usually set this combination in my default music player
euilizer- classic
sound effect- wide
On this combination if u listen music then its really awsome. I tried so many different equilizers but no one matched sound qulity that I got from default music player with above settings.
Edit:
I tried most famous power amp music player. It is really better but not best as compared to default music player in terms of equilizer sound quality.

Sorry for not being that precise. I know DSP Manager, and I'm using it with Google Music. With that I don't have any Problems. But as vishal24387 posted his EQ settings with the stock music player EQ I tried again to find some settings that fit my taste of music.
Well!!!so good!
I am starting this thread coz I have been observing Audio stutter in each & every MIUI/CM9/AOKP cROM made for i9003.
Tried allmost all kind of popular music player available, but none of the player was able to remove the audio stutter.
I tried all possible remedies, like:-
-Removing DSP
-With DSP
-Without any custom equalizer
-Different bit rate for mp3 files
-Different format s of audio files
I asked lot of times in different forums but got no response.
I think this is a very important thing along with other issues like Backlight/Blacklight/Camera/Battery life/smoothness for a cROM.
I hope to get resolution for the same.
Right now there is no solution at all. Dhiru is working on audio files. But he is more worried about kernel 3.0. For camera, hardware acceleration, smoothness kernel 3.0 is the only option.
This thread should be in general section.

Don't use MIUI launcher. (this is the worst)
Delete MusicFx from AOKP/ Dspmanager from ICS.
Use Instinctiv / xPlay Music player (both are free)
Or flash the attached player.
This will reduce the frequency. Does not completely remove it.
Shutter issue was fixed in Alpha 4.

The loudness of the stutter is quite low compare to pre aplha 4, but its still there.
Trying different players only reducing the frequency of stutter. Sometimes it is like a break in place of stutter sound.
So this may have something to do with the MP3 decoders. Currently we are using software decoding for all AOSP roms since we don't have a proper functional DSP.
I see no issues with the Audio HAL that might cause the shutter since there is no such issue when dealing with basic sounds like Ringtones or Notifications. Have you tried playing lower bitrate MP3 songs? Does it still shutter?

I have observed Upto the bitrate of 128KBPS the stutter is very low & with higher bitrate the stutter is very much increased.
But have not tried any MP3 file with the bitrate of below 128kbps, will try to play one to test it.

A workaround:
It's due to the load on the CPU. Generally, the sound chip on a system handles all the decoding and DA conversions, but here, the CPU is taking on the load instead.
Using the "V6 SuperCharger" script and Poweramp's higher priority settings, along with DVC enabled, I've got the stutter down to a minimum (it still stutters when running taxing applications like Chrome Beta). I suggest using the "V6 Supercharger" scripts for now.
V6 Supercharger:

With Regards to ICS (This pertains to keeping the default launcher in memory, I find this useful): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16635544&postcount=2
You need to use a Script execution program such as Script Manager (Free - Ad Supported).
Doesn't need to be executed every startup. It's a One-shot type of script.
I recommend reading through the OP before executing.
Cheers!

will it remove stutter? and also could anyone make a flashable zip for that? :/
Hello all, as a new user of XDA I want to contribute to the Nexus 7, So today I would love to share this patch with all of you. And also I would like to take the time to say thanks to all of the DEVs that work hard to give the public their amazing ROMs.
Info:
I have been searching for months on how to fix the ICS and JB DSP Manager so it will work with music apps like PowerAMP and PlayerPRO, Well recently I have finally finished my project of hacking the DSP Manager to work with those apps, so I am now sharing it with all of you and the patch is compatible with every ROM even if the DSP Manager is not natively installed on your ROM. This patch as only been tested with the latest versions of PowerAMP and PlayerPRO, so if you use another music app please test and tell me how it goes. Lastly if for any reason you are unable to get my patch to work please post questions here and I will help you as best as I can.
Enjoy my patch!
When Using This Patch:
Make sure that all other equalizers and audio managers are disabled and with PowerAMP specifically make sure the setting Direct ROM Volume Control is disabled
Bugs:
All:
The DSP Service sometimes closes without warning
Work Around:
Keep the DSP Manager App open in the background
Downloads:
4.1.2 ROMs
4.2.1 ROMs

It's the zip I forgot that I used Amend Scripting for all of the zips that I made because I have an Optimus S that I also use this patch with and Amend scripting is not comatible with these recoveries, I will fix it and the new download should be up soon
The downloads are fixed and should now flash correctly, and thanks for letting me know so I could fix it, also if you have anymore issues let me know and I'll help as best I can
Alright, it flashed this time
So using GoneMad with it's own EQ turned off and set to use the default Android EQ (DSP Manager I'd assume), I tried listening to some songs again, that I had played before. I noticed some improvement in the songs sounding closer to how they should with DSP Manager, but not quite the same as they sound played by Apollo. I thought it was kind of strange that it only "sort of" worked, so I'm willing to believe it may have been placebo effect in my mind. I will try this with VLC next, as that's another player I've wanted DSP Manager effects to work with.
By the way, my ROM came with KingBeatz... Since it's DSP Manager with some stuff added in, I thought this (your mod) would work the same as with normal DSP Manager. Could this be an issue?
Re: [MOD] CM DSP Manager Patch For PowerAMP & PlayerPRO
I don't know if it is an issue but if it is still installed just make sure you disable it and I just now messed around with gone mad and it seems you have to toggle using the equalizer on there but I did manage to her the full DSP effects to work so just mess around with it and open DSP manager and toggle stuff on and off
Sent Via Nexus 7
Alright, it's working just fine now. Playing a song in GoneMad sounds exactly the same as playing it in Apollo. Thank you!

I just tested this and to get the best results if you are using PowerAMP install the latest verion of DSP Manager and it's drivers (I will have a flashable zip up soon) and have the least distortion in the sound I set the following options:
Replay Gain: both options set to -12.0db
Replay Gain: Enable apply and prevent clipping to peak
Equalizer: Flat
Equalizer: Enable
Limit: Enable

In your opinion, how would you compare the sound from Acid versus DSP Manager?
I prefer DSP Manager over pure Poweramp as DSP sounds cleaner, wider, with better dynamic range. My only issue for now is I have random skipping from DSP Manager, which also happens with Cyanogen's Apollo player, so I know its not Poweramp but DSP Manager.
Re: [MOD] CM DSP Manager Patch For PowerAMP & PlayerPRO
You might have to try a different ROM and also acid is only an audio manager it has sound enhancing features but it doesn't have an equalizer so you can use it with the DSP manager
