I'm posting here, because I could not post on the blackbean development thread because I'm new to the forums, which I don't understand because I have been using this forum for a while. Anyways, I installed blackbean #6 and it was running awesome, better than cleanrom, but I was unable to connect to my wifi, for some reason it says connecting...and then it doesn't connect. Any help please, I really like this rom.
What channel are you using? I've seen posts recently about channels on the upper end not available on some ROMs.
For me, BB has had some of the best WIFI reliability, so I'm surprised to hear you'd have an issue that wasn't present in CM10.

I flashed #6 as well --- My WIFI works all locations
If you backed up previous ROM -- restore back and see if WIFI works there

Yep, already did that, I'm running cleanrom and it's working. So don't know what the problem is. I'll probably try again today.

My guess build.prop or default.prop changes made by blackbean and router sees your tab differently. If you have WPS use it while on blackbean then connect.

Hello all
I'm having some internet issues right now. I can connect internet pretty well on wi-fi but when using network I cant open any web pages no matter what browser I'm using but I can use other internet related programs (Facebook, gmail , market etc.). This is the second time this problem occurs. First time I was using stock rom then I changed to virtuous unity and the problem was solved but now it started again. Anyone experienced this before? Or what can I do to solve this?
Could be kernel related
Swyped from HTC Desire S using XDA Premium
If its kernel related what can i do about it?

You should always try to provide as much information and details as possible, for example....
All of this can be got from Settings->About Phone-> software
What ROM?,
What RADIO (baseband)?
What Kernel?
Can be got by rebooting to recovery
what HBOOT?
Sorry for missing details.
Virtuous Unity v.1.31.0
20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
Kernel unavailable
HBOOT: HBOOT 6.98.1002
Radio from bootloader. 3805.06.02.03_M
I think these are enough, I'll try to flash new kernel but before that i want to ask that if i'll lose anything? Or what will change?

Having the same experienced with you. Got problem with MMS too. Just now, I've called my network provider, it said that I need to tick "Data enabled" first if I want to use internet connection. If untick it, we cannot use the internet connection. Don't know whether working for you or not, but seriously working for me.

I don't use that ROM myself, but, I'm aware that they've released a later version about a week ago, so I'd be tempted to perform a full factory reset and then any additional wipe instructions that come with ROM installation which you'll usually find in post #1 and then upgrade to that.
I'd then apply which ever kernel that they recommend in the ROM thread (or you may find the new version comes with the new kernel). If you then continue to get issues try posting in the ROM thread as well as updating this thread as this may bring you more results....

It might not be related with rom because same issue happened before when i was using non-rooted stock rom. Anyway i going to apply new update with full wipe. I hope it wont occur again.
Hey guys!
I have looked up this issue, but everyone seems to have it then they reboot and everything is fine!
I flashed the CM9 - HellsFire, Eaglesblood, and the one released by CM_Arcee.....
Problem = When I turn on my wi-fi it gets stuck saying "Turning Wi-Fi On...." and just stays there. When I back out of the menu, and go back into the WIFI, it doesn't show the Turning Wi-Fi On..... but it doesn't show any wireless hotspots.
I tried flashing the kernel from Rootzwiki - the latest one thats made for CM9... and to no avail.
I tried...... anyone have any suggestions?

it's a known issue. Wifi calling does not work on ICS, and if it does, it's failing during calls. Hope time will heal this.
If wifi calling is essential for you, i recommend Eaglesblood GB 2.3 rom.

Did you wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system before flashing? If you're the only one having this problem then it's user error.

He didn't ask for wifi calling, just wifi. There are two 2.3 GB Eaglesblood ROMs, I think the one you're referring to is the 2.3.7 one though.
I tried wiping data, cache, dalvik, but I have never tried wiping system.... I will see if that fixes it.
EDIT
I tried wiping system, and then fixing permission afterwards, still no luck! I guess I will have to go back to CM7, and see if my wireless works there.
When I first booted up WiFi worked for about 2 minutes. Found my home network, connected...appeared all was well.
Then suddenly it stopped and now it'll just read Turning Wi-Fi On... indefinitely. Eventually it'll say error.
Originally superwiped before flashing ROM, flashed the suggested radio.
I tried clearing cache and dalvik, didn't help.
My phone hates wifi apparently. Wi-Fi being junk is the reason I rooted in the first place. Was hoping this'd fix it. The fact that it's "intermittent" makes me wonder if it really is a hardware fault.
Any ideas?
Android Version: 4.0.3
Sense: 3.6
Android Revolution 6.5.1 by mike1986
Kernel: 3.0.16 SebastionFM #1
Hboot- 1.27.1100
Radio- 11.22.3504.07_M
Tried a factory restart w/ sim pulled, still nothing.
The odd thing is how it worked at first when I booted up..then stopped functioning alltogether.
I had the EXACT same thing happen to me this morning. I went to bed last night and wifi was working great. This morning when I took it off the charger I noticed that wifi wasn't running. Tried turning it on an it wouldn't turn on. I thought it may be a glitch so I tried restarting. No change. Realized I had fastboot checked so restarted without it. No change.
If I go to the Settings menu under the icon to switch on wifi it says error. When I try and turn it on it has the message about turning on wifi for a few minutes and then the switch turns off. I also noticed that it is draining my battery VERY fast (most likely because it is continually trying to to turn on wifi)
Not sure what happened or what would cause this. I'm running ARHD 6.2.1.
I was planning on upgrading this afternoon after work to 6.5.1. Hopefully this new wifi issue doesn't get in the way of that...
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to update your firmware first!
In ARHD thread Mike1986 states: 3.32.401.x firmware is required! So go to this tread and get the necessary firmware and you wouldn't have any wifi issues.
I'm also running 6.5.1 and have wifi on for almost the entire day without any problems!
Thanks for the reply BioTeck. I can't speak for BrokenWiFi but for me I've been running on 6.2.1 for about 2 weeks no (with the suggested firmware for that version) and haven't had a problem. Then all of the sudden this morning it started having this problem.
Any suggestions on what I can try? This evening I plan on upgrading firmware to latest as well as upgrading to 6.5.1 so I'm hoping that helps but are there any other suggestions I can try?

I did update it originally.
I decided to go through again...I just downloaded 3.32.401 from that thread...flashed it, superwiped and installed ROM. Still no dice. It reads all the same as it did before in the "software information" area.

On the ARHD thread, there seems other to have the same problem. Some of them solved the problem by reflashing. Perhaps you can try that as well and post this problem in ARHD's thread as well...

This happen to me way way long ago, back during the series 3 ARHD. After going through many things, a simple rom reflash fixed it for me.
I was never able to figure out why. I asked around in here and else where and there were some talk of it back then with a few tips for solution, which did not work.
As far as I could tell, that was the only time ever that I flashed a rom without turning off wifi before rebooting into recovery. I have since then diligently turn off wifi before flashing anything. Never encountered the problem again.
P.s. I recalled reading something about how the wifi is stuck on "On", while the rom trying to turn something that's already On, On and errored itself.

Wanted to update on my progress. I solved the issue on my phone:
I was messing around with it today while waiting for a meeting to start and I found where the wifi settings, etc are stored. It ended up being a corrupt/invalid wpa_supplicant.conf file. All I had to do was pull that file out from the directory and turn on wifi and *poof* it worked again. When I turned wifi on it created a new file and everything has been great so far this afternoon.
In case anyone wants to give it a shot who is having wifi issues you can find the wpa_supplicant.conf file in /data/misc/wifi/ directory on your phone. Simply cut/rename the file and put it somewhere else. If you have wifi passwords you want to save, you can open the original file using a text editor and copy the settings over to the new file.
I believe the cause of my issue was actually Titanium Backup. Looking at the last time it backed up my wifi settings was back when I wasn't running ICS yet. Yesterday I did restore an app using it and must have accidentally restored that old backup. Their formats are different from Gingerbread to ICS apparently and it was causing errors.

Unfortunately after reading your latest post, Broken WiFi, I don't know that the fix that worked for me applies to you but just in case --> Are you using (or did you use) Titanium Backup to restore any of your apps? Is it possible you have a corrupt file as well? Obviously you are wiping out that file when you superwipe so I don't think you have the same issue but it is probably worth checking.
Funny, it worked!
I had a feeling the supplicant was the problem..
In my last rom it wouldn't let me touch anything in /data even though I was SU and S-OFF.....
So I'd just delete the one in /system... but it never helped.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Seriously, I've spent like 15 hours troubleshooting this...reading every thread on the net.
Never thought to try and delete the one in /data in this rom.
THANK YOU so very very much.
I can't post in DEV, but maybe you could let some people know over there that it's a fix.
I copied wpa_supplicant.conf from gb miui and it seems to be working for now, will test it some more..
Sounds like hardware..I had a problem with what turned out to be the battery cover, it has the antennas built in to it.. changed this and was good again. Worked for me..

One thing you might try doing is deleting it and then try restarting the phone. That would be the next step I would do. If it doesn't work then you might have to start looking into a hardware or rom issue.
After you try deleting and then restart if that doesn't work I'd back everything up and try flashing your rom again.

I've deleted the file and restarted many times, Wifi will say OFF or ERROR, i will try to turn it on and the same problem occurs, stuck saying "turning on". I've reflashed rom and firmware many times using different kernels and techniques etc. I can't believe it to be hardware related as everything was fine with version 6.3.1 and firmware 3.30... then updated to 6.5.1 and 3.32.. fine again however a couple of hours later WiFi was off and continued to say "turning on". I'm going to try to downgrade to 6.3.1 and 3.30 again to see if that helps..
I've having the same problem. I updated to firmware 3.32 and ROM ARHD 6.5.1 last Saturday and WiFi seemed to be working until yesterday. Today it won't work at all - I can't make or receive calls and had to move the SIM card to a Blackberry curve so I could get some work done.
Tonight I tried deleting the wifi supplicant file posted earlier and that seems to help for one or two calls then it's back to no calls at all. So then I wiped the cache and devlik cache and tried again. That may have helped, but I'm not sure yet.
I'm starting to see a real trend in these WiFi issues. There have been a lot of threads about it lately. I don't know what is causing the problem though.
I had my WiFi shut off again today with the same issue. The fix I posted earlier worked again but having to do this every few days is not going to be acceptable...
I REALLY am enjoying ics and arhd 6 but I'm afraid between this WiFi problem and the fact that T-Mobile WiFi calling doesnt work I might be going back to gingerbread...

I don't get any errors. It just doesn't pick up my router. Although when I disable all security on the router it picks it up just fine. A totally unlocked router is out of the question though.

Yeah. I spent a good long while tinkering with my router and even factory reset it as well as tried every security type, changing ssid, hiding it, the works. My old iPhone picks up the router just fine, as does my laptop. This leads me to believe the problem lies with my phones ROM. I'm gonna try to flash a couple of the ROMs suggested to me once my phone charges.
So Ive flashed the experimental CM nightly released on the 25, MIUI v4, AOSP Nocturnal Dirty Rom 4.1 as well as AOKP JellyBean. Still nothing. Im sure I'm forgetting a couple too.
Don't really know what else I can do at this point. Ive tried different gapps packages too just in case that could be it. I might have to abandon all hope of running project butter right now. :crying:

It doesn't recognize it at all. Unless I completely disable any kind WPA/WPA 2 security. Back on stock unrooted Sense it would pick it up just fine though.

that sounds like a legit issue, you should probably report that to h8rift in the cm10 thread and see if anyone else has the issue.
out of curiosity what type/brand of router do you have ?
Update: Now running Cleanrom and everything seems to be working properly. I'm gonna stick with it for a little while until I can figure out how to run JB with wifi.

That's a good idea for sure, I'll do that.
My router is a D-Link.

It probably won't help.. But have you tried updating the firmware?
I had an old D-Link and wifi worked fine on JB based ROMs for me.
a WBR-2310A to be exact
I've had the same issue in every aosp ROMs however on my phone i do get the WiFi to work. It takes me a while but I eventually get it. What I do I turn WiFi on and off, leave it off for a minute or so, re start my phone, after phone starts I turn WiFi on and most of the times it does it, you have to have patience

Depending on ROM an kernel, WiFi scan intervals are up to 5 minutes apart.
Just saying.

I have this rather annoying problem with my OPO: When I'm on WiFi and go out of range and get within range of another WiFi (eg leaving from home in the morning and getting on the train where there's also WiFi) my OPO will not connect.
I've tried switching WiFi off and back on, tried forgetting network and connecting again but the network just displays as "Saved". Only thing that works is a reboot. Funny thing is that it actually detects open WiFi's and displays the question mark in the notification bar.
I've read that themes can cause WiFi problems so I haven't changed that. I'm using the Apex launcher with no visual changes.
I've rooted my phone but left the bootloader locked.
Any advice?
I'm rooted with the TWRP custom recovery installed. I had the same thing happen to me. If you toggle airplane mode on/off, it will reconnect. But, as for a solution, my fix was to restore a previous TWRP backup of my phone. I also had heard that the problem could be coming from a theme. What themes have you used? I bought the Flux theme and have been using its style and fonts. I was running the stock CM11s when this happend just a few days after getting my OPO. I would try a factory reset first. If that does not work, there is a thread in the OPO forums about flashing a factory image and getting back to 100% stock.
I have switched to the CM11 nightlies as of a couple of days ago. I will probably refrain from messing around with the theme packs for now.

Works for me too

None as I've read reports about themes causing WiFi problems.

Will probably unlock the bootloader. Then a factory reset should be taken care of I guess...
Anyone have a solution to this? My OPO is having this problem too and it is rather annoying...

I'm now on KTU84P and the problem is still there
Yesterday I failed to flash MAHDI and ended up clearing everything from my phone. I had to follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
to get back to pre-KTU84P (can't remember the build number).
So I guess it's safe to say that my phone has had all sorts of memory cleared. And the problem is still there...

I really hate to hear that you are still having the wifi issue. One would think that if you flashed all partitions with a factory image that it would solve the problem. You might want to have a look at this thread. This guy was unsuccessful in fixing his efs and bluetooth problems until he flashed Color OS and then went back to CM. Have a read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/fix-people-corrupt-efs-mobile-data-t2836389

Will have a look at the ColorOS thread. But I think I'll give Mahdi another go first to see what that brings me.
Thanks for the link.
Flashed Mahdir ROM yesterday and though the rom works just fine my WiFi reconnect issue has not been resolved
I find flashing yet another rom (ColorOS) sounds a bit drastic. Really no way of debugging what's wrong?

Although is sounds drastic I think it would be worth trying.

No. I'm waiting for the update to hit my phone and install it to see if that solves it. In the meantime though, I installed an app called Smart WiFi Locker that seems to keep the issue solved (for now)

Thanks for sharing. I think there are two things that can produce a major restore/fix to a phone - a nandroid restore and a major rom update. I hope it fixes yours. The nandroid restore is what saved mine.

Been there. Done that. Read the book. Got the t-shirt.
Flashed ColorOS.
Factory reset.
Booted and got through into ColorOS (skipped account setup).
Booted into recovery.
Factory reset.
Restore backup of CM11S.
No dice :'-(
What are my options now?
A couple of days ago I completely wiped my OPO - radio, modem, everything and flashed a new stock image. Nothing has helped.
I really find it hard to believe this to be a hardware issue.

Just for clarification - after flashing Color OS, did you turn on wifi and use it to see if the problem was still there while in Color OS?
If your WiFi 2.4 or 5GHZ?

My phone is set to auto but I have tried setting it to 2.4 and 5 GHz respectively. Nothing works.

Yes. I would recommend you consider doing that. If it works then I would flash a fresh Cm11s rom, not a nandroid backup. Flash the Color OS and do a full check of the Wifi.

I was having the same issue, but here's what I did and it seems to have resolved my issue.
1) Updated firmware on my ASUS AC68 router
2) Boot into recovery mode (volume down+power), wipe cache and media, then factory wipe
3) When setting up phone, did not apply CM theme on the options after logging into CM account.
It seems like WiFi might drop when you get to homescreen, just reboot phone and Wifi should reconnect. Make sure to go into your WiFi settings and remove any networks that was saved, and re-add.
Still not ideal (since it seems like themes might be killing WiFi for some users), so hopefully a new OTA update will solve this problem.
