Yes. Radios and ROMs are two totally separate beasts. I've run the stock radio (F2) on JB just fine. In fact, I find F2 and G7 to be better in CM10 than the latest releases.

Flash the official Desire HD gingerbread rom on our Inspire 4G?

At&t hasnt even announced their plans to update the Inspire 4G and i was thinking, since the Desire HD is pretty much the exact same phone, can i flash the Desire HD official gingerbread rom? im asuming ill lose the 3g/4g capabilities but that can be solved by flashing the AT&t radio after i flash the update, right?

Radio firmware doesn't have to do with 2G/3G loss on the Inspire/DHD, it is the software in the the ROM (RIL combined with APN). If the ROM doesn't have the correct settings it will not have a data connection at all... Also, flashing a pure DHD ROM will cause major sound issues on your Inspire. I would just recommend using one of the 2.3 ROM's in the dev section, most of them are based on the official 2.3 release anyway.
You shouldn't have any problems, as long as you match your radio with the RIL and apply the dhd to inspire patch somewhere on these boards.

I've flashed Desire Rom's without any problems just use LeeDroid DHD to Inspire Patch to apply turboliniums tinny audio fix.

The thing is there's no stock 2.3.3 on these forums :/ , so the trouble is the ril, ive had no problems reactivaating the apn in the past

Use the steps in my method in development after flashing, it basically resets your radio to AT&T specs on any Sense-based ROM's. RIL, Radio, APN, telephony.db. All there.
Edit: make sure to to a rooted stock ROM, NOT THE RUU!!
Re-Edit - Use this one. It is pretty darned stock.
im getting more confused , the gingerbread roms on the inspire 4g development forums are based on the desire hd roms but already have the ril and the at&t raido and apn? or are jsut the desire hd roms and we have to flash the ril and the radio after we flash the rom?
And the screwed sound you mention is no sound AT ALL or the tiny audio?
Chad-
Slow down. Do some reading. Don't jump into it too fast and you will be fine. Read-Read-Read.
Chad, this as close to stock GB Sense as you can get. All you have to do is flash the rom nothing else. And your phone will actually think its an Inspire 4g not a Desire hd.

anyone know when we will get 2.3.4?
Leaks have already come out so possibly not too long
i just put rcmix 2.3.4 on my phone. sense is SUUUUUUUUUPER smooth!
i know the leaks have come, but most of these are chinese based and have had problems with the tmo radios and data and other random bugs so thats why i want a US based 2.3.4 rom

Shouldn't that be: When are we getting 2.3.5 - isn't that the version that uses dual core processors?

Sense 4.0

Are there any sense 4.0 roms available?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA
Yes but only for the one series. Ours will never have sense 4 as its a pain to get 3.5. O won't use any 3.5 as it requires flashing radios that are not tbolt
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Huh? We will see sense 4 once we have an official t bolt ics leak or ota. The problem is atm that we dont have a ril to use with ics roms so data will not work. As far as 3.5 goes.... Eternity works just fine. I dont have a clue what you are talking about with the radios coming from a different phone.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Totally agree. We have 3 sense 3.5 roms, all run fine and NONE require non thunderbolt radios. ICS will have sense 3.6 when it comes, but devs will likely be able to port as much of sense 4 as the thunderbolt's hardware allows when our ICS source is published.

Wrong, uses the same radios as ANY GB thunderbolt ROM. We don't have 4.0 because we don't have a working ICS ril yet. We won't have anything ICS with working data until we get one
Believe what you want but their are clear warnings on the faq on how to install and that not flashing the correct radio for a sense 3.5 Rom will brick it.... So no sense 3.5 should be used.

It says nothing of the sort in the eternity faq.... It says any gingerbread radio will work. Which makes sense because you could brick by flashing a froyo radio to a gb rom anyway.

You can't brick this phone flashing any radio made for it, as long as the download isn't corrupt. Worse case using the wrong radio with a rom is a boot loop or no working data.

Just in case anyone missed it, ICS will probably NOT have Sense 4.0, the OTA version will most likely drop with an earlier version and update to Sense 4.x in a few months or so. At least that's what's happened with other phones that got OTA ICS updates.
One other note: Some folks on other HTC phones have expressed disappointment with ICS because with sense 3.x it looks/acts very much like Gingerbread.
The key is patience.
I'm sure that ICS with Sense 4.0 WILL be coming to the T'bolt and, if you're under 25, possibly within your lifetime!
I only see sense 4 on this phone through rom development. I don't think htc sees it functioning well enough to please their pallette. We didn't even see an official sense 3.5 so I don't expect there to ever be an official sense 4.

HTC has said that current models will only get sense 3.6 such as the ego 3d that came.with. sense 3.0. So no official sense 4 as our phone goes not have the.memory for it.

just used my last pre data share upgrade for my wife to get an iphone 4s and im getting her tbolt as a junk phone basically
ill working on porting my inc2 sense4 roms to the tbolt, though until you guys get an ics leak (inc2 had a china one) and get the 3.0.16 kernel camera isnt happening (rom will work sans camera w/ .35 kernel and hacked ramdisk)
and lte is no guarantee, but i have some experience editing RIL (got cdma working on inc2 miui4) so we ll see
my inc2 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553357

memory doesnt make a difference...the sensation and rezound have a gig of ram and they only get sense 3.6...sense4 (full) is reserved for the one series and inc 4g currently and sense4a for the one v
all phones that werent native ics that are getting upgraded are getting the same sense 3.6...although the rhyme/bliss is getting a version of 3.6 similar to their previous 3.5 (ive seen the screenshots)

So you read that on eternity faq? Because what I read gingerbread radios only. Please post a link to the forum you got this info from for future reference. Oh and nitsuj you are an awesome dev maybe you could help get data working on our ics roms. From what I've read about our ril is that it's tricky because we have svdo which allows for simultaneous voice and data and it makes the ril more complicated than others.

[Q] Trickdroid/viper one s wifi issues

Everything works fine with CM until i decided to install sense based roms (Trickdroid 9.1/Viper one s 2)
Discovered that the wifi problem exist with the hboot 1.14. I don't really want to downgrade my hboot
What are the options I have?
Why is it that my CM rom has no issues with wifi which uses the same hboot??
Having the same problem with trickdroid and viper, you updated right? Are you saying NON-SENSE roms are working with WiFi?

Its not your hboot, its your Wifi partitions that are flashed which tend to correspond to that hboot. (this tends to be a T Mobile problem)
Solution is to downgrade your hboot and flash a different set of Wifi partitions.
I had 1.14 hboot with Bell Mobility and ROMs and WiFi worked fine.

Yup... sure it does work perfectly fyn with the NON-SENSE roms..... thats vat my question is....
If it was a wrong partition issue, shouldn't it be persistent with the NON- SENSE roms as well ??

All the aosp ROMs have a 2.35 base fingerprint...and new sense ROMs have a different base 3.16.. That is the reason aosp has no WiFi issues..if you flash a ROM sense or not with a base 2.35 or lower you should have no WiFi issues..

[Q] Flashing radios on OTA JB

Another dumb question from a newbie
Can I flash a different radio on the OTA jelly bean update and be ok with S-off and unlocked, touchscreen downgraded also. If so would I need the ones with RIL or any radio? Where I live never did have good luck with a signal and seems the .HTC O2 2.29 (0.19as.32.09.20_3_10.107.32.25): was the one I had the best luck with. For some reason I tried to flash a kernel or something and the System UI stopped working and had to restore , don't want to do it again.
You should be fine just flashing the radio. If I'm not mistaking the ril is for aosp/aokp.
