Corporate (Exchange) email client alternatives - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I think I've had enough with the stock e-mail app for getting my work e-mails. It dims the entire phone every time I open it, it flickers when I scrolls, etc. This is on multiple ROMs with multiple versions of Jelly Bean. I'm convinced the app just plain sucks.
Anyone use any revolutionary third-party apps that they want to share? I checked out TouchDown and Moxier... but $20? No thanks. K-9 seems just OK.
thanks!

Touchdown is great, but expensive. Keep an eye out for sales, I got it for $2 about 2 years ago

You can try the AOSP client, I believe beans has it in his roms. You can also use enhanced email but I stopped using it since I got my S3, the app was acting weird...

I'm trying out Aqua Mail right now. It is only SMTP at this point. No direct Exchange connectivity (ActiveSync)... YET. I e-mailed the dev and he is considering getting a license from M$ to add it to his app.
Other than that I love it. It's free but appends a watermark of sorts at the end of email drafts. $5 to unlock pro version.

Well... found my solution. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33402676&postcount=5
It's an inverted AOSP email flashable zip. It's just plain sexy. It doesn't have any of the issues the default JB e-mail app has.
If you're interested....
-Nandroid
-Delete the SecEmail and SecExchange apk's from /System/App with a root file manager
-Flash the zip in link above
-Go into app manager and force stop/delete data on email AND exchange. I had to do this to get it to work. Not optional.
-Profit.

Another vote for Enhanced Email. It handles multiple accounts, including Gmail, well enough that I had it as my main email app for a while.

The problem with using an alternate email client is you lose the new notification features of jelly bean. I was a long time user of Enhanced Email, but given the issues using it in jelly bean, and losing out on some improved notification functions I opted to use the stock app. I do miss the custom led notifications though
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2

I've used them all. Enhanced Email, Touchdown, Mail droid, K-9, Kaiten, etc... All are good but all do not have it "all" for functionality. I did like enhanced email on my phone but hated it on tablet due to not having the preview pane option. Touchdown is super powerful but only allows exchange email. Mail droid has great features but does not yet support calendars. K-9 was great until my company changed to exchange server 2010 which K-9 does not support.
I feel like I am on a lifelong search for a do it all email client.

I forked over $20 and bought Touchdown. Great layout. Love it. Done.

I just wish touchdown did more than 1 account.

Best email app on CM7 / Boca

I switched recently to Boca and could not be happier in terms of performance and battery life.
I am missing one thing though: the well designed / slick / beautiful email app from Samsung (probably the only touchwiz thing I miss I would say)
Which email app are you guys using? Kaiten, Moxier, Enhanced email look interesting. Any advice?
I remember a post a year ago explaining Samsung's email app was just a derivative of another one but I cant find the ppst anymore... Could be interesting to explore this as well

I tried Maildroid, it seemed okay. I prefer Samsung email over the Gmail app too...
I really like the Samsung email app on my 8.9. I use that for my work email and keep my personal email in the gmail app. On my galaxy s and my (former) evo I use the enhanced email app. The developer for that app was really responsive when I first got it (back when it was $0.99, and had less than 50 downloads). I originally got the enhanced email app because it was the first one I could find that offered exchange phone lock password requirement bypass.
Thank you, I will have a look I checked K9 and Kaiten mail but I can't believe they still don't support Exchange 2010
I lve the Samsung app, definitely my favorite but I haven't found anyway to install it on a non Samsung ROM. I tried restoring with Titanium backup, I tried installing through ADB, but then got some certificates issues... Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES]
Couldn't find anything on the web with people able to go around and install it
If you want the samsung mail then you need to use a Touchwiz based rom. Boca is a CM7 based rom. Other than that if you need trie exchange support then touchdown is the best. Or just use imap and kaiten.

Yes I know that you need a Samsung Rom to have the right certificates for Samsung's apps which is definitely not the case with AOSP or CM ROMs
I was just wondering if some people had found workarounds
Touchdown? It's not gonna happen the application is bulky and ugly...
Thanks anyway
But there is some hope...
Unfortunately not yet for exchange accounts

Its not even about certificates more so than the whole touchwiz framework that needs to be there. If you are just after two pane email.for your gmail, run 160-182 dpi and set browser for ipad and you will get the gmail ipad site. On the other hand, Touchdown is not ugly once you fiddle with it but is the only working EWS client next to ICS I believe, unless you want Good for Enterprise (shutters at the thought).
Lemme know what you end up with.

Already using Good Enterprise for my Work email on my tab. It's not bad actually but eats a lot of battery
I am not looking for an app for GMail, but my personal exchange email. It looks like the one tat messes the least with your overall Android experience is Enhanced Email (And it does support Exchange 2010 accounts). Only downside is it doesn't seem to add any proprietary calendar and to be honest the default Android calendar is relly... ugly... (And not very practical)
Forget about Enhanced Email... It looked interesting from everything I read... BUT I tried the eval app. It resets all the sync emails every time I get over a few days emails... (Could be an issue with the trial version though, but if you make a trial version, you make it good....)
Besides it doesn't allow you to input from your device more than the name, number and email of a contact. Forget about birthdays, etc...
The developer seems reactive but it'snot going to be enough. Aaah I miss my Samsung's email client !!!
So, not I wont get this and I may very well stay on the stock app even though it misses pinch and zoom as well as search...
I hope ICS will be better. Anyway K9 is getting close to a good working solution for Exchange 2010 so I will probably wait until then..
Now I am using MIUI rom but missing Samsung stock email app. I tried pasting apk and odex to system folder but it is not working. Is there any way to get this application on miui. I tried. Different market mail like k9, Maildroid bit nothing comes close to samsung mail app

Best Push Email Apps

Hi all,
Due to the nature of my Job, I should have access to Email, as soon as someone emails me.
I use, Hotmail, Yahoo and MAINLY GMAIL.
I do not have any problem in installing a paid App. I can invest $25 for a decent App on the Android market. But I could not find one.
All the Push Email Apps, they say, that, they will do it every 15 Minutes, during the Peak Time.
But still, I have to open the Email each time and refresh it manually.
Since I have the Unlimited Data Plan with Verizon, I really don't bother much, about the Data usage, even it uses more Data.
Also I recently got the Zero Lemon 6300 mAh Battery from Amazon as well. It solved my battery problems.
My requirement:
If I get a Email, I should get a notification sound, Phone should Vibrate and it should be in the next Minute.
When I used to have iPhone4, my company Email used to reach my inbox in less than a Minute. But I don't know which app is the best one in the Android Market.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
But I can say, I tried lot of different Apps like, EmoZee Secure Push Email.
To some extent, the stock gmail app is better. But I want all of them in a single App, just like the iphone. But I don't know which app actually solves that purpose, with real time push for every 5 Minutes.
Thanks a lot guys and Peace.
sincerely
qzmpal.

Yes. I have tried Mail Droid and Emoze Secure Push Email.
After 2 -3 days of use, the speed with which the Emails are delivered are
Emoze Secure Push
Gmail Stock App
Mail Droid
This is my personal experience though. May be I might have missed some other options. But as far as I Know, I check thoroughly the options in these 3 Apps and I think, Emoze is the better one till now.
But I'm open for suggestions even on the Mail Droid as well. But I did not try K-9. I downloaded that and I'm using it right now. Lets see how this goes.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thank You.
I have been using K-9 mail for 2 years and it pushes correctly. If you feel adventurous you can always visit their D/L page and try the "beta" versions.

Replacement email app

Hey everyone. Just curious as to what email apps everyone is using? I have both my personal and work (exchange) email on my note. The default email app seems to be the only app I use that is incredibly sluggish. I was hopeful that different roms or kernels would help but it hasnt.
I used to use kaiten and touchdown, but stopped when I restored my device and tried to use the default app. I was hoping I could do so and use the combined view for all my accounts. Any suggestions?

Another vote for Aqua Mail, I have eleven email accounts from various providers and it's very responsive. If you use IMAP for incoming mail expect it to be slower than POP3 whatever the client program you use.

[Q] Email App

Note 3 stock email app is missing lots of important features:
- Spell check your email before sending
- Reply to email with a meeting request
and more
Which email app are you using?
Im using Aquamail pro.
A little slow on Yahoo push but at least it works.
MailDroid is another one that i used to use, works with Yahoo mail as well
Notice your requirements and not sure any email app on android provides those services

Cloudmagic (free and perfect for exchange accounts, but a little "dangerous" about privacy) or Aquamail (very good but free version is limited to 2 accounts and adds app infos in each outgoing mail sign and paid version is expensive for me, about 4 euros).
