Hey everyone. Just curious as to what email apps everyone is using? I have both my personal and work (exchange) email on my note. The default email app seems to be the only app I use that is incredibly sluggish. I was hopeful that different roms or kernels would help but it hasnt.
I used to use kaiten and touchdown, but stopped when I restored my device and tried to use the default app. I was hoping I could do so and use the combined view for all my accounts. Any suggestions?
On my Galaxy S3 I use Enhanced Email.
Works pretty good I thing.

Another vote for Aqua Mail, I have eleven email accounts from various providers and it's very responsive. If you use IMAP for incoming mail expect it to be slower than POP3 whatever the client program you use.

Stock email client
I'm using stock. Seems to be fine for my IMAP accounts.

I like the way the stock client feels, I can't find a search function which really bothers me. I just wish it had more features. The problem is that email programs like k-9 mail or enhanced mail are not optimized for the tablet screen so they look kinda of stupid. I guess I just have to wait for soemthing better?

I wish it had a "select all" feature; its a pain selecting emails one at a time to delete..
I like the stock email.. works fine with my exchange server and the features that it is supposedly lacking are features that I dont really use, so I dont notice. The widget is just awesome and I love that I can easily access recent emails from my homescreen. I find myself more and more using the tablet for email while I use my laptop for the heavier work. Its great being able to have the email open on my tablet so I can read detailed instructions or long lists while I work on a project. So all I'm looking for in an email client is: works with my exchange, displays my emails on my tablet (wow! I'm needy), and has some sort of search. The widget's just an added bonus.
I'm using stock, gmail, and touchdown lol.
I think I've had enough with the stock e-mail app for getting my work e-mails. It dims the entire phone every time I open it, it flickers when I scrolls, etc. This is on multiple ROMs with multiple versions of Jelly Bean. I'm convinced the app just plain sucks.
Anyone use any revolutionary third-party apps that they want to share? I checked out TouchDown and Moxier... but $20? No thanks. K-9 seems just OK.
thanks!

Touchdown is great, but expensive. Keep an eye out for sales, I got it for $2 about 2 years ago
You can try the AOSP client, I believe beans has it in his roms. You can also use enhanced email but I stopped using it since I got my S3, the app was acting weird...

I'm trying out Aqua Mail right now. It is only SMTP at this point. No direct Exchange connectivity (ActiveSync)... YET. I e-mailed the dev and he is considering getting a license from M$ to add it to his app.
Other than that I love it. It's free but appends a watermark of sorts at the end of email drafts. $5 to unlock pro version.

Well... found my solution. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33402676&postcount=5
It's an inverted AOSP email flashable zip. It's just plain sexy. It doesn't have any of the issues the default JB e-mail app has.
If you're interested....
-Nandroid
-Delete the SecEmail and SecExchange apk's from /System/App with a root file manager
-Flash the zip in link above
-Go into app manager and force stop/delete data on email AND exchange. I had to do this to get it to work. Not optional.
-Profit.

Um, I can't uninstall this app. The uninstall button is greyed out...
Did I miss something in installing this?

Another vote for Enhanced Email. It handles multiple accounts, including Gmail, well enough that I had it as my main email app for a while.

The problem with using an alternate email client is you lose the new notification features of jelly bean. I was a long time user of Enhanced Email, but given the issues using it in jelly bean, and losing out on some improved notification functions I opted to use the stock app. I do miss the custom led notifications though

I've used them all. Enhanced Email, Touchdown, Mail droid, K-9, Kaiten, etc... All are good but all do not have it "all" for functionality. I did like enhanced email on my phone but hated it on tablet due to not having the preview pane option. Touchdown is super powerful but only allows exchange email. Mail droid has great features but does not yet support calendars. K-9 was great until my company changed to exchange server 2010 which K-9 does not support.
I feel like I am on a lifelong search for a do it all email client.

I forked over $20 and bought Touchdown. Great layout. Love it. Done.
I just wish touchdown did more than 1 account.

Hi All,
I have a Note 3 N900. I have installed K-9 Mail Pro in addition to the stock email app. Sometimes some of the email do not fetch on the stock email app but all emails appear on the K-9 app.
Is this happening because of 2 email apps in use?
Please help!
Thanks

Since the layout was a bit cool for the stock email app I gave a try. Buyt back to k9 in no time. Stock email is still not as refined as k9. Stick to k9. I had similar problem with 2 emails.

During my Note 1 time, I had missing emails, Inbox can't sync plus other issues with stock email app. Complaining to Samsung didn't help at all, so I tried TouchDown email app which solved my issues. Since then, I don't use Samsung's stock email app anymore.
Didn't bother to test whether Note 2 and 3 have the same problem or not.

...same for me: Samsung App doesn't work with IMAP, it notifies new messages once in a while, etc. I use Aqua Mail which is superb.

I use blue mail which supports multiple email accounts. It always notifies on time when there is an email. It has never missed an email or arrived late since i've had installed (about 2 months)

What all would people recommend for email.
I have been using the stock app on my phone but it's a bit restricted I think.
I've tried K9 but it's so fecking convoluted and overly complicated.
All I want is an app that will allow me to access multiple accounts easily, and quite simple delete an email which will then be deleted from my mail provider server.
I've tried to set this up on K9 and it just won't work. Having turned on my laptop I've just found I have hundreds of mails still on my account which I thought I'd deleted! Having come from Apple I'm now a fully fledged android convert but the one thing that Apple does better is mail management!
LG-G2 / Android 4.2.2
I've been using Blue Mail. It has a nice simple interface and provides some options without being overloaded like some apps.

Cloud Magic is good.
I use Nine and I really like it.

Make sure you have your email app set up as IMAP (& IMAP authorised on your email account) that way your email will sync. It sounds like it's currently set up as POP which just downloads copies of your email. POP doesn't mark as read or delete from your account. IMAP does.

Ok, so I delete one account from k9 and set it back up bit this time add imap and it's now working more like I want it too. However, the app is still showing costs that don't exist when I look at the account on my laptop. I deleted some folders from my account.?

CloudMagic and SolMail :good:
The Android Apps and Games forum is for Developers to share and support their work. It isn't really the place to ask questions or discuss an App. There is an App discussion thread for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230428 Please repost your question and comment there.
Thanks!
I have both corporate (exchange) and gmail email accounts and I would like to manage both with a single app. I've used CloudMagic Email in the past. Do you have any experience (good or bad) with other email apps?

I'm in the same scenario and I use the Outlook app to manage both email accounts. Syncs my exchange contacts and calendars as well.

I highly recommend the Nine email app...I love it! My favorite part is that you can set exchange security requirements for the phone, or just the app.
ooh, must check out Nine then
you can also try Boxer, i've been using that for the longest time, even when it was still called Enhanced Email
Been using Nine for almost a year; definitly give it a try!

That was my second suggestion
I use Nine for my work email account even though we use Google for Work because they want me to install policies that let them remote wipe, and Nine sandboxes remote wipe to the application.
k-9 mail app is good to you can set various of settings and does not consume much battery
Im using MailWise for Exchange since it bypasses it.
I use Bluemail
I've tried many, but am very happy with Cloudmagic now
Both Outlook and CloudMagic are nice!

Jp Type mail the best!
Nine is amazing
+1 for TypeMail
I wanted to like Outlook but small things let me down.
General app speed just seemed quite slow. Something simple and constant like e-mail needs to be fast!
Strange behaviour when opening images in e-mails. Maybe I'm stupid, but I could not find a way to zoom in on them or make them full screen.
The stock e-mail app is actually quite OK on this Note 5 with my Exchange account. I've disabled it now to try out Nine. Impressed so far with the speed and fluidity of it. If something bothers me I will go back to stock.
Anything besides Mailwise that allows Exchange Bypass?? I have issues giving my company ability to wipe my personal phone...
