Copy the backup files from the SDcard to your PC after TB does a backup.
I agree that Titanium Backup is awesome but ever since I owned the Droid X I've used Rom Toolbox. Pretty much identical functionality, just a different layout.
Titanium Backup is the best!

You don't back up "root".
TB backs up your apps (you can choose either apps or apps+data). It also has other handy features like the ability to uninstall apps (including useless stock apps) and to "freeze" apps (disable them but not uninstall them).
How about My Backup in the Android Market?

[Resolved] Backup app without install window

Does anyone know of a backup app which will backup then restore all of my apps without having the install window popup for each one. I currently have titanium backup installed, but it is very tedious having to hit install for my 100+ apps.

Buy the pro version of titanium backup. Notice how the free version doesnt have hypershell enabled? Thats what you want, right there.

How to update apps? Please help

I download plenty of beta version apps and homebrew apps (not from market). Is there a way to update these without losing app data by uninstalling and reinstalling the new version. I don't want to lose the app data.
Thanks

Just install the new versions over the old ones. (App will be updated without data loss)
It doesn't let me do that. It tells me the previous version must be uninstalled before installing the new one.

In that case, use an app such as Titanium Backup to backup your data, then uninstall the old app and install the new one. After that, restore the data.
Do I need to root my phone to use that app?

it doesnt let me update , it forces me to uninstall making me lose data.
As stated the only way to do it is do back up the data with titanium back up. Uninstall the app, install new one and then restore the settings.
Also be careful about getting apks from places other then the official app stores or here

Is rooting safe?

As safe as installing apps you get outside of the play store. Safer even. Just do your research

[Q] App Data backup without root??

I have looked in the playstore and most backup apps need root to backup app data. I bought a Skyrocket for a friend of mine overseas and I want to make sure he can transfer data from his apps to the Skyrocket. His phone is stock and not rooted. Anyone know a way to backup app data without root??

Lifehacker.com recommends Carbon. Haven't tried it yet myself. It's on my wishlist. Using App backup & restore by Infolife LLC myself. Haven't had the need to do a restore yet, so don't know if it's really good.

A lot of apps backup the apk's but not all will backup the data that goes with them without root. Super backup needs root to restore app data.

It has changed name to Helium. It's made by ClockWorkMod so that kind of guarantees a quality product. :good:

Yes, Carbon - App Sync and Backup by - ClockworkMod. It's free in the Play store.
Works great and you don't need root.
Note: If you want to do backups and restores from the cloud you will need to purchase the Premium version @ $4.99 but it is worth it.
