Is there yet any proven procedure to unlock this phone in order to be used with different carriers?
Thanks!

I know the new droid line ( x, 2, and future morotola droid phones) and the motorola devour have locked bootloaders, I want to know the limits of your phone with these restrictions, and ROM development for such devices.

if the bootkoader is locked down tight you can kiss custom rom development goodbye, not sure if it already has root, but other than the official motorola software i cant see you having anything custom really

X is rooted and has custom roms. Boot loader still locked currently so no custom kernels but that is about to be cracked to over at birdmans tweets you can follow the progress, or just check the X forums here.

I have the S4 T-Mobile One S and was wondering if the htcdev bootloader unlock tool is safe, since I've seen a bunch of soft brick threads, also is that all I need to do to get a Rom on the phone? I don't have any expierience with flashing or modding on HTC phones, only on Motorola phones. Any other flashing information is appreciated. Thanks

Torxx wrote a step by step post in the development section. It's stickied. I used it to unlock and flash my phone. Works great.

But, i would scan several threads on unlocking read his to get a good feel on the process. Highlighting the correct text to copy/paste for the token is important--I missed it first time and included to much text--

So with the help of XDA I managed to unlock my Verizon HTC ReZound. I want to move to AIO. Two questions:
1. Has anyone moved a ReZound from Verizon to anything else?
2. Do I need to be rooted or just unlocked to switch carriers?
Thanks everyone!

I have no expierence with your phone but in general you shouldn't have to root to switch carriers.
