Mormally you can do it on the same device.

Hey just out of curiosity if you access advanced backup in cwm recovery and backup boot it means you're backing up the kernel right?

No, ROM manager does this stuff through recovery.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
No...recovery manager can't do this....
do it via fastboot:
the command is:
cd ~/Desktop/path/to/backup/
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
try it. :cyclops:
Thanks for the reply...but I got onethere easy way.....jst need to type a six letter word in terminal that's all...now we have to wait for 3min...and backup will b made...in sd card
Will share this process very soon

after I flash CWM 6.0.1.2, if I reboot into recovery, the phone goes into Android system recovery. Why is that?
In order to go back to CWM Recovery, I have to go to ROM Manager, flash CWM 6.0.1.2 again, and then reboot into recovery. Once I am in CWM and need to exit (reboot), I get asked the following:
"ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?"
Yes - Disable recovery flash.
Should I click yes so the phone does not go into Android system recovery? there is a message that says this cannot be undone so I do not want to do something that may screw up my phone.
I am on stock but rooted, of course. Thanks.
Same thing happens to me. Even if I use twrp or cwm touch

Why you dont make a twrp backup instead of a cwm backup? To make a backup i recomand twrp had issues with cwm. Anyway if you did a backup with cwm try to restore bavkup, i had trouble with it.

In Darkroom V3 topic is "take a CWM BACKUP", so I did cwm backup Anyway I have TWRP backup so I'm safe
It isnt very important wich backup you do, you are saver with an twrp backup too much people have trouble with cwm backup
