Hi, I have a dilemma. I have a choice of 3 phones which I can get after trading in my iphone 3g at my local cex. The phones in question are the htc desire s, the htc Mozart or the nokia lumia 710. I would be mainly using this phone social networking, tethering Internet to my kindle fire hd/laptop, taking pictures, browsing the web and playing the odd game. I am not considering any other phones, and only want your opinions on which of these I should get as these are the only ones within my price range in said shop. I am reluctant to cut my current Sim to micro Sim for the nokia but if it is worth it I will take the risk. Thanks in advance.
Personally the desire s. Not too sure about hte mozart. N i prefer android over windows phone so no lumia!!
Try asking here for some more opinions friend!

This one is for the Admins.
I know the iPhone is not well liked on xda but there are some people on here (like myself) that have one just because they could get it at a good price.
(I am by no means an Apple fanboy)
I have a jailbroken 8GB iPhone 3G and would like to request a section on the forum for the iPhone please.
My reason: I really like this forum and I think that some of it's members could really help to make some interesting mods for the iPhone (eg. maybe porting Android or developing a method to use the iPhone without the restrictions of iTunes etc.) so it would be nice to see what people can do with the technology.
Please consider it.
Thanks!
no not unless its made by htc. the iphone is not made by htc. theis site is devoted to all phones made by htc
i was gonna suggest my site in my signature but i would have the iphone on there as it mac not windows os
and between you and me if you think you got the iphone for a good price then ur insane as most htc phones are fee on uk networks contracts, oh yes that includes o2
mate, i love my iphone just as much as ive loved any of my wm devices...
but this just isnt the place for an iphone forum, its like having a n96 forum
google for iphone forums, im sure they exist, and are probably working on that stuff already
hmm i think it should stay the way it is man
theres alot of webpages i mean ALOT of the iphone there like 3 or 4 for the htc..
so yeah just google
iphone apps or iphone forum
I will ignore most of the first reply because it's just plain negative and rude.
(btw. I don't live in a country where all the big network providers reside. I bought my iPhone cash at a good price in my country where it needed to be imported.)
For the other responses, I can't say I'm not disappointed but fair enough. I just asked since I saw that there is a section for the Sony Ericsson Xperia (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=470) which is also not an HTC so I though maybe they'd be willing to add the iPhone as well.
(The developers on this site are certainly smart enough to make some awesome mods for the phone and perhaps even figure out how to sim-unlock the 3G version.)
Response accepted, thanks anyway!

And that is where you are wrong! The SE XPERIA X1 is manufactured by HTC!
BTW: I can't find that much "rudeness" or "negativity" in the replys. Let's blame it on the rain!
Allready discussed.
Not an HTC Device.
Not a WM device.
It's not going to happen..
I'm ready to dump my Nokia dumphone and enter the 21st century. Unfortunately I'm on a prepaid plan (T-Mobile Pay As You Go) and don't have a lot of money to spend. I'm looking to spend around USD$200, not much more. I'd like it to have the following:
GSM/WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS
Decent camera, flash is a bonus
Android OS
Good aftermarket ROM development
To limit my search I only considered phones officially supported by CyanogenMod, which led me to the HTC Espresso/Slide aka T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, which goes for right around USD$200 on eBay. However I'm sure there are other phones which also have active ROM development. Thanks for any suggestions!
Welcome to forums,
Have a look on marketplace when you reach more posts here
You´ll find nice deal around
I would go for an HTC Aria for that $
Good luck and let us know what you´ve got
If I have the choice, I probably will take a look at HTC desire.

Hey everyone-
I recently purchased a Nokia N9 off of Ebay on a, in retrospect, misguided whim. I love the UI of the phone and how seamlessly the device allows me to switch from one app to another. However, despite my love for the phone, I still find myself missing Android and its ecosystem (I owned a Samsung Vibrant for a few years prior to this phone). Even though the N9 does the few core things I normally do on a daily basis really well, it's still missing of the basic apps I used to rely on for daily use; i.e. Tumblr, Instagram, Ebay, and Amason. So I decided to sell the N9 on Ebay but now I'm pondering which phone I should buy next. I probably want to stick with Android, but I'm not sure which device to go with. I'm leaning towards either the HTC One X or the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, however, I'm certainly open to other suggestions. I'm certain I don't wanna go with Galaxy S III because I hate the Touchwiz skin. If anyone out there has any suggestions for me I'm more than willing to hear them. Thanks.
-Sincerely, bobofosho123
P.S. I know for a fact that I'm not looking for anything with a contract, and I know I'll buy it without one since I'm on a grandfathered T-mobile plan.
Nexus all the way bud. Always up to date and great community support!

I finally purchased my first MacBook Pro so I can start iOS development. I do not own any iOS devices, other than my fiance's iPhone 4. I would like to ease myself into iOS development, so I am looking at purchasing a used iPhone 4. iPhone 4's can upgrade to iOS 6, so it seems to be the cheapest way to get into the iOS dev game.
Browsing ebay I see a lot of iPhones listed with bad ESN's. I understand this can mean it's a deactivated device which cannot be activated on a network, but would such a device be able to suffice my needs as a introductory development platform for either PhoneGap or native app development?
Would there be any pitfalls that may prevent me from working on wifi? I would not be activating the device on Sprint or anything, so could I theoretically buy some cheap att or verizon iPhone with a bad ESN and just use it on my local wifi for development purposes?

Hello,
As the title states, I broke my 1-year-old HTC One, and I'm looking to buy a new temporary low-budget smartphone. (w/o contract)
Having previously broken a relatively high number of devices from numerous brands and types (yes, i'm that clumsy), and currently not willing to splash the cash, I'm just looking for a smartphone, that can simply just run the usual apps, and that would last me at least 5-6 months until a new set of phones are released into the market.
I have a rather decent experience with android devices, so I'd prefer them over Windows phones, but anything would work.
My budget is around 150$, and I'm really unwilling to surpass 200$
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you
-George Kayogre
Definitely the Moto G! You can pick one up for 150 bucks or so off contract I believe. Although if you have Verizon you can only use the G with their prepaid plans.
