Well you don't really port a patch. You compile the roms source with the patch/mod built in. So it would be ROM specific

Ahh, hmm, then only reason why I ask in the first place is because I never have time to get on my netbook and do it myself. :/

I am actually working this into in a JB Rom I've been working on, but I am still a ways away from releasing it. You will have the choice of what type of lockscreen to use(JB,ICS or BB10 so far.

Thank-you, when I saw that lock screen I became very envious of the look and style. But as I said above I just can't find the time to work on anything besides downloading and flashing.

Like i said though, it may be a little while before I release it. I had begun theming the ROM in source, then decided I wanted to include the tmobile theme manager. So right now I am in the process of reverting the changes I made and creating a theme(apk) out of them.

ICS? I thought it was IBS.
I don't flame and usually stay out of wrong section arguments but come on. This isn't development related at all! Now let me get back to ripping apart this SDK image
An SDK isn't the same as the open source for the entire OS.
This only allows devs to update/create apps for ICS, not rebuild the entire OS for other devices.
cough so who gonnna develop this for us? now we on topic gimme ics or ima screammmmmm
Yes but from the SDK you can set up an ICS emulator and extract the files from the system image. People do quicky ports from this in the past just to show a device can run the new OS, but to build a fully functional OS you need the source to be posted.
If you already have the SDK installed just update the packages. No reason to install again.

The devs don't have to get to work. Try saying words like please. Their time is valuable.

No source = no ports, rumours say source will be published right after the nexus prime release, by dec.

Those were my thoughts exactly.
Personally if I couldn't help in an objective I wouldn't demand it to be done for me.
I would imagine GB drivers are compatible for the ICS for backward compatibility (mesh phones and tablets). It wouldn't make sense to require new drivers when the goal is to mesh.
If that's the case, CM7 might just convert over relatively easy. I'm sure there are gonna be issues and they may be forced to wait until the Galaxy S upgrades.

That'd be amazing, and I see how that would be a smart choice by Google.
If that's the case though, why wouldn't be able to just take bits and pieces of ICS and make a fully working ROM? If the drivers are the same.
I mean from what I understand the drivers are the only real challenge (and other minor issues), from what I can see for my G-Tablet and Honeycomb..
Do any of our awesome developers plan on working on a cm9 port once source for ics is released?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
I bet the real devs here will work on there own roms when source is released instead of kanging cyanogenmod.
I really hope someone will!
Since my SGS II runs with CM7, i'd love to see it on my TF.

I hope there will be a "official" Team for building CM9 for the TF, not a simple Kang.
Why not contribute? I'm not aware of CM's development model but I'm sure they would appreciate help, or say tablets should FO.

I'm pretty new to LG G2x, and just wondering if it's even possible to have a ROM based on Android 3 or even 4?
Android 3.0 is only for tablets. So in other words, no. However, several 4.0 ROMs are in the G2x development section such as AOKP and Hellfire Sandwich. Just warning you that they're not as stable as 2.3 ROMs (at least for now.)

Nope.
Jelly bean will be what ics was supposed to do, which was to defragment the os which we know as android and let two become 1. Meaning tablet and smartphone integration, ive read on google that jellybean will support both platforms.

Well, I have a G2X with ICS, and an ASUS Transformer running ICS as well, so the "integration" you speak of is happening now. I'm sure there can be refinements, but the OS version is the same; this isn't a feature waiting for the next version, unless I'm just missing what you're trying to say.

I feel like it'll be more like a Froyo -> Gingerbread type change in the looks department.
Rather than a Gingerbread -> Honeycomb type deal.

Another? I've been one of the prime dev's working on the TF700T for months, was the first to release a usable tree for AOSP roms for this device, and have been releasing roms for TeamBaked for which i am one of the developers for months here LOL
BB = BakedBlackbean.
No offence taken....
I'll check it out in a bit.
Thanks
Been running 4.2 on my nexus since it was released and it is pretty nice.

i'm really excited about this and can't wait :fingers-crossed:
Just flashed this rom and then done a backup using twrp, a word of warning when you do a backup 4.2.1 creates a a new folder on your internal sdcard named 0.
I have a Galaxy Nexus phone and when I updated from 4.1 to 4.2 I had the same problem so twrp released an update to resolve the problem
I am using twrp 2321 on my phone and I have twrp 2310 on my tablet.

Good job. I've been buried with work the past 3 days, I have gotten almost no deving done. Funny how things get in the way
This is exciting!!!!
Dasunrule: Do not sweat it too much dude. The last CM10 Nightly that you left us for the TF700 the other night is more than enough to keep us held over until 4.2.1 becomes just a BIT more stable! I am running the last nightly with NO Clemysn kernel or other mods and am having ZERO issues that could kill performance per-say :good: to both of you!
Surprisingly polished for an "alpha".
Only problems I see are the lack of live wallpapers and user accounts.
I think I'll alternate between this one and cm.
Wallpaper didn't work for me, also hdmi out worked with no sound.

This is the case with pretty much every device regardless. My guess would be that proprietary drivers are the issue.

Just flashed this ROM and just wanted to say thank you for one, for two this 4.2 layout is so awesome I personally love it. With that said this ROM is in alpha and definitely an up in coming ROM I hope. As of right now its not stable enough for a day to dayuse . Keep up the good work!

sorry for the noob question, but what exactly do that mean? it not backwards compatible? ( as in not able to run old apps?)
Since Android announced the newest version of their platform today I figured I get the ball rolling. I know our device is nearing its end of life, a question remains....
What are the chances we see the "L" version in ROM form on our phones? Since the Developer Preview SDK is being released as well as Nexus 5&7 getting it tomorrow.
Really, Lol?
Aosp based: without a doubt.
TW based: unlikely but not for hardware reasons.

Yes I was just curious if a rom could be made from the SDK our if they needed source code which won't be available until later this year.

if flash does not work move apk to system/app AND move the lib file to system/lib

no one has an Android L ROM, there is no source code until fall. Developers can get a minimally functional preview image for Nexus 5 or 7 and when I say minimal I mean you can see the basic interface pieces, theme, google search and keyboard and so on..
You can see a good deal of what the theme will be for the next Android release, lots of white background and flat colors, Not a big fan. Seems very Appleish to me. There is a dark version too though.
You can also see this using the development platform virtual device emulator.

you'll have to define what you think "minimally functional" is because there's people running it, calling, texting, and installing/running apps, right now, for instance: http://www.reddit.com/r/Ingress/comments/296rdk/ingress_works_on_android_l/
now I know it's not finished, and I know it's more of a beta build... but it's very functional if you ask me
