[Q] Bluetooth issue with VRBLK1 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I installed this latest jellybean leak for my Verizon GS3.
Pairing is not a problem nor is auto connect. My problem is the audio is completely garbled and inaudible during voice phone calls from my car.
I have an Infinity G37.
I did not have any problems before I flashed this leak Prior to this, I had flashed CyanogenMod 10 unofficial nightly builds with no problems. Prior to this, I had also used the latest verizon release for ICS with no problems.
The phone (as currently flashed to the jellybean leak VRBLK1) pairs and works perfectly with my wife's BMW Z4.
I have reset, unpaired, cleared the cache, etc and I just cant get this to work. I have tried different radios with no luck. I have downloaded and tried different bluetooth fixes from the marketplace with no luck.
My only option is either flashing back to ICS, or CyanogenMod 10 unofficial, but I prefer not to do that because other than this problem, everything else is perfect.
I have searched the forums and am unable to get an older version of Bluetooth Share (Would like to replace 4.1.1 with 4.0.4) which i suspect may fix this problem.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I do a lot of calls in my vehicle and we have a hands free ordinance in our city.

Nothing?
Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

You've got it: 4.1.1 issue. No idea on a fix, I'm back to ICS as a result. Isn't a modem issue it seems (unless interaction between JB builds and particular modems), seems to be a JB issue (reported across phones with lots of different vehicles).

Network problems on all ICS roms (KG2 phone)

I am having problems with my network on every ICS rom I have tried. The roms are Darky ICS and the Resurrection Remix 9.7 and 1.0. I have tried multiple modems, yet they do the same thing.
My phone constantly changes from HSPA+ to 3G and back and forth. This is quite rapid, like in 5 seconds I will see it change a few times. Also, I get 'retry connection' messages a lot in Google Play and internet related apps. Non ICS roms seem to work perfectly fine.
Anybody have this? If so, did you resolve it?
Additional - I have tried installing the correct modem for my phone (the KG2) while in Darky ICS and it didn't make a difference.
Just noticed that I am also dropping calls. Tried half of the modems so far.

ICS-Bluetooth-Voice-Prob:impossible of clear phone calls via paired handsfree car kit

Hi,
my last installed rom was Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 (Darky-ROM 10.4.).
With this ROM it was possible to make very clear phone calls (with pure and expressive voice) with my galaxy i9000 smartphone via my (bluetooth-)paired handsfree car kit.
Now, I changed to ICS and tested d i f f e r e n t (!) ROMS, p.ex. [ROM ICS]Tiramisu+ I.C.E. A.G.E. V.1.7 (based on the latest CodenameAndroid-ROM), [ROM][ICS][I9000] Team ICSSGS RC4.2, [4.0.4][ROM] Dark Knight 4, [ROM][4.0.4][6-Apr] Slim ICS [3.2] - 70MB Clean, Simple & Fast, [ROM] [ICS] Android Open Kang Project - galaxysmtd, [4.0.4 IMM76D][ROM] EliteV10 Beta ...
With ALL(!) tested ROMS above I have the same PROBLEM:
I'm NOT ABLE to make clear phone calls with my galaxy i9000 smartphone via my (bluetooth-)paired handsfree car kit. If I dial, first the dialtone is very unclear with distorted voice an after, I can't make a phone call - the voice is distorted and I can't understand my call partner.
My problem is NOT a bluetooth pairing problem (bluetooth pairing without problems!).
Anybody with the same problem?
Any ideas/ solution/ fixes (because ROMS says p.ex. "Fully working bluetooth" (ICSSGS RC4.2)??
Maybe it's only a KERNEL-problem? But I tested with the above roms different kernels, too ...
Thx. a lot!
can you pls wipe data and wipe battery status from recovery mod...
as i searched found a similiar problem here...

Bluetooth
Hi, I have come over from Darky 10.4.2 and have not experienced the bluetooth problem as badly as you describe.
I too have tried many ICS roms and have returned to Darky often as it seems the Darky rom just does it better.
My main problems have been poor GPS, some minor intermittent sound when running music via bluetooth to my car stereo, with some roms (I cannot remember which) giving poor sound for voice call with blue tooth. And of course some where just battery munchers.
I have almost settled on Slim ICS 3.2. I still have GPS & Bluetooth issues and I am trying to solve them. I am thinking of changing the modem which might have something to do with it.
If I have any success I will let you know.
Let me know if you find anything that works for you.
Finally on the gingerbread front I found gamerzrom to be fast, fund and stable, but of course not ICS. They are currently working on an ICS rom which they report is due in a couple of weeks. That is one to look out for.
Good luck.
had the problem in past, but got it solved after a full wipe, try that
Did the all wipes as well as clearing battery stats and problem remains... I'll try the other gaming rom ... maybe ...
i did the following:
- wiped cache
- wiped dalvic cache
- reseted to factory
- formated /system
... problem remains ...
did I forgot anything to "full" wipe?

UCLD2 Bluetooth Problems

I'm one of the unlucky few who can't get Bluetooth to work with UCLD2 leak ICS.
It doesn't affect everyone. Just some folks.
It crashes for me and I've tried three different ROM's.
UCALC4 doesn't have the problem with bluetooth for me.
Just wondering if anyone out there has come up with a fix for it, or if you have found any custom ROM's that don't have the problem?
Please don't say CM9 because it's using the older Bluetooth code from Gingerbread (IMO) and has a couple other issues that aren't working out for me. Great ROM otherwise though.
CZ, u tried sky ics ucld2 base with the different cwm flashable Bluetooth fixes seanscreamz has? It seems he tried to import the stack from uclc4

Yep, tried the base by itself, then also tried the #1 and #2 bluetooth fix.
None work for me.
Had to go back to SkyICS UCALC.
My stereo is the double-din JVC unit.
bluetooth fix
I read that a new base is out for SKY ICS and a lot of people are saying that it fixes the bluetooth issue for them.
Tried it. Twice.

Are you using darkside to wipe between flashes if so don't. And check your md5s with the files on the SD

I do use darkside.
Sometimes before wiping and sometimes after.
Have downloaded UCLD2 twice, so that's *probably* not the problem.
I hope this Canadian ICS release has some additional Bluetooth fixes.
Otherwise, I may go back to Gingerbread before long.
did you install the radio following Sean's instructs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600420
My first ICS rom was a bust.
Then I installed the radio and afterwards installed Sean's 4.2d9:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602216
I did it exactly, no superwipe, used the cwm touch he said to. Installed the base, then the update. Did not install the bluetooth mods. Only thing I installed was a different battery to fix the ics signal bars from greay to blue.
BT works better than it ever has. I was streaming Slacker and running nav on the way via BT to my Ford truck via Sync to test.
(Sync in my 2010 has always been twitchy; never worked right with my Atrix <previous phone>)
Also BT to a home speaker system is great, also.

I am Running Seans Sky Ice, amazing ROM
Issue for me is car bluetooth, and after working for couple of days it started to connect and reconnect again, after I've been listening to music, so my guess (and this is after testing new radios and few other things) is stock music player does something to bluetooth or bluetooth permissions (as as well as phone it also connects to the car) and once there some connection issues when trying to turn it on through the car, the whole thing just does not work properly.
I never had a problem from update 1 to 6, it started on 8 and seems to happen on 9 again. So for the threads out there that say I've tried all the ROM and it's the same, no it's not it was fine on Update 6 here.
If you are running any other ROM, do a back up and flash Fix 2 first and then if it does not for flash Fix 1, thank you to seanzscreams.
Possible Fix:
What I did is i did a nandroid restore ( and yes it is a good idea to do a back up right after you flashed both base and update and set up LTE, to keep a clean copy)
!!!1) Before setting up or even turning it on, in Titanium Back up, freeze stock music player. !!! and it is important to do so before touching BT, as it may affect permission and this will not work(make sure not to touch MusicFX as it also affect BT permissions)
2) Reboot the device
3) Open Google Music Player and set up your music( please note if you have more then one playlist, make sure you set them up right as songs wont play continually and you will not have ability to skip them using car controls)
Google Play is same as stock, meaning same functionality, same car features and all, so you are not really loosing anything.
4) No close it
5) Go ahead set up BT with the car, you should get two messages one to permit access to phone book and one to permit accesses to call history (well it depends on the car, but if you have a newer system in it they yes) check mark the box so it does not ask you again and click yes/accept.
6) Enjoy. Should be good from now on, I've been listening for it all day, will test it more and let you know.
Please also share your experience and thought on the problem, so maybe I am wrong and it's not the issue and it's something else and we can all get it fixed.
Thank you.
BLUETOOTH IS WORKING NOW!!!!
Unfortunately, none of the possible fixes listed above ever worked for me or other JVC car stereo guys that I know about.
But the newest leak, UCLE2 is working just fine.
Thought it took much longer to recognize my stereo than normal (could just be a one-time issue), it was buzz free, error free and playing my Pandora perfectly!
Here's the leak download:

mine seems to be working fine now on UCLE2 but I've only tested it for a day.

[Q] Bluetooth Issue - All Jellybean ROMs - All Kernels

Can someone please help me with this. I really want to update to Jellybean but I have the most annoying bluetooth issue on every ROM I have tried.
I have tried all JB ROMs and standard Kernel and the Sultan Kernel. I have asked in a couple of the ROM threads but got no reply.
The issue is when I connect to my car it takes 5 seconds for the sound to transfer from the phone internal speaker to the bluetooth in my car.
Use my phone for work and can't wait 5 seconds in the car when I receive a call before I can hear the other end of the conversation.
It worked perfectly on my old ICS ROM.
Anyone encounter this or know how to fix it?
Thanks a million for help!
turn your phone s-off if u ain't.

It could be a device incompatibility with the blue tooth receiver.
There are a few devices that just don't work right with the JB roms even though bluetooth does work. For instance on both Bruce's ROM and the offical CM10 rom, I don't have this problem. So it CAN work. But like I said there ar enumerous people who have had issues that turned out to be some kind of issue with the device not communicating well with JB.
It could still be an issue with your phone though. Do you have any apps that might interfere with bluetooh like an automatic volume up app when blueooth connects or something like that? If so, delete all that stuff. See if the results improve.
Do you have another bluetooth device you can test it with? At lest we could narrow down if it's a reciver issue or a ROM issue.
Also try doing a fresh install after a full wipe. Then just boot it up and try it. Don't install anything else. Just see if you have the problem on a completely clean install. If you don't, you might have an app interference issue.

Hi thanks for replying.
I will try Bruce's ROM but the official CM10 ROM didn't work for me.
I don't have any apps that could be interfering as all I have done whilst testing this problem is do a full wipe, install the JB ROM and go and check the bluetooth.
I will check tonight if the issue exists on another bluetooth device and report back any problems.
Cheers

[Q] Call Audio Issue - I can't Hear Calls

Please help me with this strange issue. When I RECEIVE calls, everything is fine. When I MAKE calls, they can hear me, but I can't hear them. No audio. My audio on my phone works for everything else. I have bluetooth off and I don't use a headset. It's not a hardware issue because everything works fine when I'm on Gingerbread. When I flashed my ROM, I erased cache and did a wipe. I've re-flashed several times. I've also tried several different ROMS. I'm on Avatar now. I was on Beanstalk before. I'm seeing this issue on both ROMS. Jellybean and Kitkat, I'm seeing this issue. I hate to go back now that I've experienced then new OS. Please advise. Any ideas? Could this be a modem issue?
