i was running an older version of A.R and it had it.... id like it back. the straight black out lock is lame. (i.m.o)

I think I know what you're talking about... Its the screen lock animation right? it looks like a tube tv turning off.
You can get that animation if you flash most Cyanogenmods. I am running JellyTime_R29 by Randomblame and it is based on CM10, and a friend of mine chose to stick with cm7. Both have this animation. There may be some other way of modding your current rom, but I couldn't advise to do that. It would be easiest to just install a rom that supports that animation.
Hope that helped! If so, hit thanks

oh ok
i actually meant if there was a way for me to just get that with A.R in stead of using an app like i found most people to have done.

CRT animation (that is called) is not hard to set in a rooted device. Here is a guide on how to do it manually: http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/enable-crt-animation
I don't know AR but other roms have tweaks where you can enabled/disable it, check if that exist in the setup menu. :good:

I've never used AR, but if you're set on sticking with that rom then there is probably a mod you can make or flash to the /system/something that would do this for you. the easiest solution is using a rom that supports that animation though.

i'm using eagles blood 1.0.3 gingerbread tried Screen Off and Lock but when I click on power button to lock screen it doesn't do the old CRT TV shutting off animation. i have to swipe down from notification bar and use it manually.
anyone got one working that does animation automatically after screen locks on its own?
None of the ROMs support it as of now
cyanogen gonna have....just give a time
does the stock gingerbread update.zip support the CRT animation?

Not the leaked version.
Can we use the one from the Vibrant ROM 'Asgard'?
no it is apart of the Gingerbread rom... it isn't something you can just install (but I'm not putting it past the dev's here at XDA). Specifically I think the kernel requires this functionality.
The official Gingerbread build should come with an updated Gingerbread kernel which hopefully includes this. I don't see why not.
It is a stupid little gimmick anyway but regardless we'll get it some way some how eventually.
As long as there's a way to disable it I'll be happy.
tweezit just announced it will be in eaglesblood 1.04.

however, it's a little buggy. right now, it does it once, then sleep of death.
Hey everyone, I have a Android Revolution HD Rom installed and I was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the spinning unlock home screen animation?
Correct me if i'm wrong anyone, but I don't believe that there is an option on that ROM

That is a Sense 3.x trademark. If you don't like it, don't install a Sense 3.x based ROM.
There may be a way to patch it to change it, but those as tightly integrated as Sense ROMs tend to be, messing with one small thing like that usually has consequences in other parts of the ROM.
Ok well i guess i can live with it lol. nice rom btw
I have Nexus S i9020 and I have this bad problem..
It's started when I flashed AOSP ICS Brainmaster's Mix.. When I locked the phone, I had a strange yellow-green flash on the screen.. I tried flashing different kernels - no effect.. When I tried playing with Voodoo colors - no effect.. The only "semi-cure" was: if you return to "Stock gingerbread colors" that damn screenflash was seen only on the contour of clock and "that slide thing to unlock the screen" (don't know how to name it in english=))..
I thought that it was just the bug of the ROM then.. But when I flashed CM9 latest alpha everything remained the same.. I also thought that it was just a bug of the ROM..
But now I flashed ICS OTA after the downgrade to stock 2.3.6.. And the result is the same to switching to gingerbread colors in Voodoo app on AOSP old ICS ROMs.. I still have the screenflash on the contour on the lock and that "slidething"..
It's really annoying now as I'm starting to think that it is a hardware issue.. But all other functions work just perfect, not any single issue with the screen.. I haven't dropped my phone, haven't kicked it or something (bought it in June)
Can anybody help with this please?
P.S.: there were some similar threads here, but I haven't found the cure..
I tried playing with "Transition animation scale" and "Window animation scale" in Developer Options.. Setting window animation scale to 0.5x solves the problem.. But it turns off CRTscreen fadeout.. So there is something wrong with it on my phone.. I don't want to loose it, it's beautiful..
Any advice please?
I understand that I can only annoy with this question.. But still I don't know what to do! Please suggest any possible ideas, every piece of wisdom could help!
Now I've rooted official ICS, installed Nexus Beam 4.1.0 and flashed Glados 2.1 kernel.. And the green & yellow screenflash once again all over the screen when I lock the phone..
In every other possible way the screen behaves itself perfectly.. But when it turns off I see that damn flash..
Mine does it too
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Mine does it only when i wake the phone and put it back to sleep without unlocking it
Mine has the exact same problem. It doesn't happen in gingerbread but on ics roms, even stock, it does a flash. On stock its lighter and harder to see, but if I change voodoo settings it turns green. I doubt its hardware considering it works fine on gingerbread.

So we have not only one complaint.. Something must be done to cure it.. It's really annoying as it is the only thing that works not fine on this phone!
Can somebody of the developers please comment on this problem?
Has someone found an answer to this?

I've seen this discussed somewhere already, but can't recall where!? But to my knowledge, if I can remember correctly it can be corrected by resetting voodoo control settings back to 2.3.3 defaults! Something to do with gamma settings I think! But obviously you have to be rooted to have & use voodoo control!!
I've tried a couple of those settings, but it never totaly get rid of the problem, it's just less visible. But since I know it's there, i'll always be seeing it XD
I would like to know if there is anyway to change the splash screen before the boot animation? I've been looking for tutorials but all of them require fastboot and the g2x doesn't have that Please reply quickly
there is a way I haven't a clue though I miss that about my MyTouch 3g and G1, EB ICS build 3 had a different splash screen instead of the blue&purplish LG... I haven't a clue though!
It's all in the kernel. Trinity's kernel have a custom splash screen. I'm not sure which file you need to replace though. I wish it was as simple as HTC Phones. I'd love to have the Nexus One's splash screen on my G2x!
I really hope someone out there does... and is it just me or do you also have two splash screens one white lg and a second right after that is metal polished look and has the blue/purple lines

:/ Why cant it be as easy as every other phone!!
its in the kernel, and changing it requires having all the tools and setup needed to build an android kernel. (its not as easy as it looks)
if you want to kill a weekend and learn about how its done, i reccomend giving it a shot
i dont know the exact file, but if you message Morfic on his IRC channel im sure he would be more then happy to help you. (hes cool like that )

You were able to do it with fastboot on HTC devices. Haha

And how could they be added to an ics ROM?
ARHD has a flashable zip, it's basically a line of code, but unfortunately HTC has made it hard as they have deleted some files for it to work properly. AOSP ROMs like OpenSensation CM9 have in in Settings>Display though
Just had a quick look on the arhd thread, but the CRT add on zip that was supposed to be in the second post has gone.
Apparently it's no longer on the arhd thread since it wasn't compatible with the ics ROM. So why hasn't anyone made it work on ics yet? How does it actually work and how could it be implemented?

I saw this the other day for 3.32 based ROM's, I haven't tried it yet though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538485
Thanks, just tried it now. It made a right mess, the whole screen was corrupted, countless force closes, etc. But the animation looked nice when I turned the screen off! Safe to say it needs work, but it's a step in the right direction at least.
