I guess, it's imposible.
This is the weirdest request I have ever read.
Tapatalked from Desire S running Andromadus
Whys it so weird when you can get HTC windows phones ?also there is already a windows ROM called moonlight for other htc phones but can't find it for the desire . Also theres a windows 7 ROM on ROM manager . Not that strange then
Sent from my Desire S using xda premium
Windows 7 ROM was only on HD2, the only phone which had the bootloader to boot into Windows Phone.
Never done for any "other phones", AFAIK.
Some reading would have cleared that.
To cut it short - don't waste your time and forum space requesting it. And the question would have been easily answered by typing "Windows phone ROM <your_phone_model>" in Google search.
Done that and as you want it cleared up I've flashed a windows ROM and am just testing it now so I won't apologise just yet for wasting you valuable forum space

I am sorry for wasting your time though ,I mean you could of spent it doing something exciting . Just out of interest what would you have been doing ?

I will not take any credit for the link below, but i wanted to share this with everyone.....It is by far the easiest rooting for the HTC Inspire....
You follow instructions, and all will be well.
only have to have the following before hand:
1) HTC drivers for your phone installed on the computer (get that by installing HTC Sync.....then you uninstall the HTC sync program w/o removing the drivers)...you can't have HTC Sync when you are doing this on your computer.
2) get the latest .net framework.

Good luck to everyone....
Here is the problems i have had which i have fixed thanks to some snazzy guys in here that helped me:
1) GPS was not working for me, but i installed the ginger bread Radio in the place of AT&T's radio....then all worked fine.
Check the source for their article out. It is about 20 posts below yours in this very forum.

It's not about pounding you...well, maybe a little.
The idea is that you may want to get to know both your audience, and the subject of your news flash a little beforehand, that way you can be sure they're not one-and-the-same.

Scott you wanna pound the Op o_0? Really weird lol.....jk. To the op: you just have to search before posting that's all. Don't take it personally, but members (including me) are sick and tired of members that make new threads when that question or topic has been discussed already.

LOL, in retrospect, not the best choice of words, but, after all, I was merely repeating the use of the word "pound" by the OP.

Sorry about people pounding you over this...but they always say before posting to use the search feature...but for this example reading the article would have actually done just as well...but to be honest I tried using that to root a friends Inspire (after I used the hack kit) thinking it would be easy...It failed halfway through and I had to break out the hack kit and finish it manually
My question is why you you post this in the guide just to be told its already posted. Then come here and post it again? No offence but it seems a tad bit redundant.

Hi there,
I'm very new to Android and the rooting procedure. Basically, I switched from an iPhone to an HTC Inspire 4G after 4 years.
I'm going to try and root my phone tonight, and also unlock it and put HTC Sense 3.0 on it, but one thing I have been unable to find is a stable ROM for Android 2.3 that is as close to the stock version as possible. It may be right under my nose, but I haven't had any luck. If anyone could provide a download link, or a URL that points to where I could find one, that would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
Best one for HTC sense 3 is CoreDroid. My opinion.

It might be best for you to not jump right into rooting your phone. Spend some time seeing how your phone works out of the box and what you might want to change. During that time spend time on this forum just reading and gathering knowledge. The more you read, the more answers you will already have.
Just my suggestion.

I really like the new sense 3.0 functions that are ported on the coredroid 6.5. P.S. It might be better to root before you get all your apps setup and installed like I did. Then I had no way of backing up since I had no root access and had to setup everything from scratch again.
Thanks for all the help guys.
darkside, I've actually had to phone for about a month now. Funny you mention using it and seeing what I'd want to change, cause one of the first things I did after a week of usage was make a small list of just those things haha.
In addition to unlocking the Inspire, and putting Sense 3.0 and 2.3 on it, the only other thing I really want to do is get all of that annoying AT&T bloatware off. That, and find something that can fix the battery life. I have no idea how to do either, so I think I will take everyone's advice and do some more reading before attempting this.
I'm using MIUI and its doing excellent for me.

Excellent advice.
You really, really, really should have a baseline by which to judge subsequent roms you flash.
Otherwise, you'll never have a full sense of what's working better or worse than something else.

Are you using the MIUI Rom here in the US on AT&T....and do you have any problems with apps in the app market? I want to find a decent GB rom but it seems like most are geared more toward the UK.
For example I'm using ClearDroid, I do a search in the market for the "Xfinity TV" app. It shows right up...I jump on LeeDroids rom, and no "Xfinity TV" app to be found.....And thats with installing Morelocale2 before setting up my google account. Obvioiusly I could care less about the app....it just makes me wonder what other apps are hidden from my view.

Well, finally rooted my Inspire and settled on the RCMix3D ROM for HTC Sense 3.0 and Gingerbread. Thanks everyone!
got my phone last week and with xda's help i have rooted and rom'ed it.(ok ok i soft bricked it a few times.. yeah i'm a noob) All with just reading threads and stickies. didn't even have to post a question. search is definitely the way to go. read read and read some more the answers are there.
thnx for the great stuff i can do with the phone now.
Great. Another thank you thread. Jk. Lol. I waited a lot longer to root because I was somewhat paranoid to ask a question around here because I might get my ass flamed. I don't use the PC for this site because all the crappy ads make it crawl and searching this site on mobile is horrid. I finally got it sorted and rooted without even a minor blip. Which method did you use and what rom are you running?

I would love to see an HTC Sense ROM ported to the Infuse! Sadly I don't think I would be of much help on the developing side, I wouldn't mind being a tester if you ever happen to need one though.
Sweet, thanks. Once I have time, I'll start working on it. And as far as testing, you'll be the first one

Yeah, that's fine. Although the ROM will work for the most part, please expect major problems with it, since it is a port of a port.

Thats not really a problem. If you don't mind my asking, what version of Android will it be running?
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
IIRC, it will be running 2.3.6/2.3.7. I do believe that it uses CM7 as a base, so expect those issues as well as other
But we already got much faster smoother and more stable jellybean!
I don't see why would you want old sense UI

That's not the point. I just wanted to know if there was interest in it.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
It's harder then you think....
First you got to find an HTC device with a similar (preferably same) chipset...which is rare since most htcs run qualacom hardware
A while back I did find a device with pretty much the same chipset that should be useable...gotta see if I still have its ruu (ruu is HTC official Rom release...actually stands for Rom update utility)
You then gotta extract the ruu contents (requires both windows and linux...)
Then you need to build the infuse kernel from source changing the bootclasspath in the init.rc and other stuff relating to sense instead of touchwiz
I'm not saying its impossible...and its still something I would like to do...but unfortuantly I just don't have the time to really do anything anymore due to school and work...and I recently got into league haha...so when I'm not working or at school I'm either with friends or playing league...but usually I'm at work or school. Oh yeah my infuse also got stolen...so no device to work with anymore (damn car fishers)
That's the basics...theres a few tutorials on how to port sense to no sense devices that can help you...just google how to port sense
Anyways, good luck...thus reply was mainly.to let you know what your in for and what kind of computer setup your gonna need (dual booting linux/windows)
Edit oh yeah...pretty sure the device I had found had an ics 4.0.4 stock Rom...at least for Iraq users...but English should still be an option in that Rom and if its not we can always add it in...anyways ill let you know later if I can find the ruu/device for you to work with
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
Not to be mean, but I've got the hard part covered. There's a sense port for the captivate that rums on top of cm. I'm not saying that its going to be super simple, its also not going to be as hard as you described.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
I think were talking about similar but different things...
I think your talking about taking an sense Rom that's already been ported to a non sense device and then porting that port to us
I'm talking about taking an official HTC sense release, extracting the contents for a flashable zip and porting that
Regardless either way requires kernel work as the init.rc needs to be edited -which is an easy task for those who can work with source
Anyways, goodluck the more options the better...there will definitely be people wanting this as its unique for the infuse
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, if I wouldn't have owned a captivate, I wouldn't know about all of this, and I wouldn't even attempt this. And yes, I'm talking about a port of a port. I'm by no means a dev, but I'm slowly learning, and I thank you for your help.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Since I've never seen a captivate port for us...here's a sense Rom for the galaxy s...galaxy s is the device we port most of our Roms for
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1593939

Wrong forum. Plus, I believe there is a Sense 5 thread already started discussing this.
So weird. Why would you even think of posting a question here? Its very obvious just glancing at the other threads for just 2 seconds, that this forum section if for content (ROMs and other mods) and not general question.
Thread reported to mods for moving. Or more likely, moving and closing. Since as mentioned, there is already a thread about this.
Moved to Q&A
Ah orange kid. Anywho, who cares? Just wait and be patience. I guess I am the only one who used to love sense, but switching to aosp is my new love.
There are themes you can use to anticipate the wait. I remember when xp first came out I still had 98. I didn't have the money to upgrade, so I used windows blinds to make it look like it. Did i just tell my age?
