HTC live tile/clock not working - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

My HTC live tile that shows weather and time is not working, any ideas?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the application and making sure that the app is allowed to work in the background.

ditto ^^^^^^^
I've been doing this also... I just hate the fact that I know my music has it's own tags and I still have to get their artwork whenever I flash a new rom. Just being picky, that's all. Thought maybe there was a fix out there.

lost stock clock/weather widget

I have searched all over this forum and found no answer that worked. I have no stock clock/weather widget at all. this happened after flashing damage 2.07.2 and installing the lwp zip in his thread. for a few hours I had lwp and the clock. revolted the phone and gone. successfully restored from backup did a wipe and tried again same result. tried the widget fix posted to no avail. I have wiped this phone several times and still no clock. if anyone could help or has an idea please let me know.

settings>applications>manage applications
find HTC Sense, clear data.
was that the widget fix you were talking about?
I know that the lwp fix removes weatherwallpaper.apk... but I don't think it removes the weather widget. By the fix, you mean you've tried going into HTC Sense and clearing defaults and/or data?
tried the clear data

[Q] Weather Data never available..

is it just me or has this happened to anyone else.. but i just purchased an HTC Inspire today and the location updates without a problem.. but every place that im at or been through the weather data is always not available.
Had the same issue earlier on my inspire and my daughter's desire z. Working fine for me now so I assumed it was just a temporary problem.
I only really care about the weather where my home is, so so I could leave wireless networks off but still have my home weather, and HTC includes like 2 us cities, I edited the weather's settings.db to include my city in its choices for default cities. Worked good.
If anyone's interested ill have to check exactly what sqlite values I edite, can't remember off the top of my head.
I'm interested. You really know you're stuff dude.

Thanks di11igaf, can't wait to mess around with it, when I get off work too
Sorry guys, not using sense right now and didn't have time last night to flash my sense Rom back. I'll do It tonight and write how to add a location. If someone wants to look into it before me though its in /data/data/ one of the HTCweather database files(there's a few), and inside that its one of the .db files. You'll need an sqlite editor to change the values either on the phone(you can buy one from within root explorer), or edit it on your pc and put it back. You'll see what has to be changed cause it will have all the locations listed inside the db file. I'll know exactly what to edit later with a step by step.
Actually I think you've given us enough to empower ourselves I'm going to tackle this tonight. Thanks again.

On my stock (i.e. not rooted) AT&T Inspire, the weather widget sucked. You can not add weather locations that you may be interested in. (Score one for iPhone).
My great solution: Get Weather Bug app (or something similar). You can add any location you wish and get more info.
Now you need a way to link the stock HTC clock widget to the Weather Bug app. Well you can NOT do it.
SO, get Fancy Widgets! They have 100 of cool widgets, including the nice looking HTC clock/weather widget (small and large), and it includes custom options to set which app to start / link when tapped.
So when you tap the weather widget part, Weather Bug starts. Tap clock, goes to the stock clock / alarm app.
Problem solved, home screen works better than iPhone!

[Q] Can these apps be safely removed?

Can I SAFELY delete the following apps as root.
Places
Reader
Calendar (using a different one)
Car Panel
Friend Stream
HTC Likes
HTC Hub
Thanks
Yes, you can delete them. If you are using Ti Backup, freeze them all and use your phone. If there are no ill side effects you can defrost them and then uninstall.
Just don't try to delete the stock messaging app. I tried that once

No, its a very dangerous procedure. Make sure you wear your fire suit and oxygen mask when doing so. If you start to hear beeping, run, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction and don't look back.

I don't use the beep method any more... I find a canary bird works much better.. if the bird drops dead.... RUN!!!

Keeping Music App "Ongoing"

Hi all, anyone know of a way to maintain the Play Music app as an ongoing app? If for whatever reason the app closes, you must relaunch the app to regain the quick play features in the notification pulldown.
Coming from an iPhone, this is one feature I would love to get back.
Thanks

Not really sure how to make it ongoing, but you can put the Play Music widget on one your homescreens to quickly start it from where you left off if it closes.

Try installing a music player that has a widget such as mxplayer so you can just resume the music from the home screen.

Actually I found an halfway working solution. Using Notification Toggle, I set up a shortcut to play/pause music. Unfortunately is starts/stop the last music app used so it defaults to the stock app. Have to start Play Music first in order for it to work properly. At least it works anywhere

I dont understand how HTC doesnt see an issue w/ this. I used mog and pandora and it stops multiple times during my work out. Its really annoying to have to stop, launch the app, and then hope it continues when i lock my phone again.
