For some reason my tf101 has terrible audio quality and is not very load my droid x phone is 1.5x louder than my tablet and compared to my droid x the audio quality when plugged in with headphones is terrible choppy and tinny. An equalizer does nothing :crying:
Any help would be appreciated.
Try the KAT Audio app. It helps considerably. You can find it in the development forum.

Volume+ Sound Boost for Gingerbread
Download: Here
Credits: MeltusI've tested it and it's increased the speaker volume drastically without reducing sound quality. It's great for streaming music, radio, live scanner feeds and stuff. It makes the loudspeaker LOUD. Works on my custom ROM (See it in my signature).
Thank you so much!!!!!

Warning! Don't have it set at insane or 8 at all time you will blow your speakers

Thanks, I just thought it was the phone, had no idea it was the ROM I was running lol. This app works great, using it at one notch below Insane, and it sounds much better now
Thanks. Works great

Yeah, I haven't tested it on Insane, and probably won't. It's plenty loud enough as is now lol
I tried it on insane it will work loud but if you keep it on insane you will blow your speakers

BETA Version (1.61 whatever)
Speaker Phone:
Speaker Modifications: ON
EQ Settings: GOOD QUALITY
Volume Level: FIVE OR SIX
Bass Enhance: OFF
i ran it on cm7 made NO difference at all ... not a tinny bit :S
Works on CM7 here, stock kernel.
Just a question for you guys: have you come across a volume/equalizer app that works on a speakerphone call? I've gotten Volume+ and DSP Manager to work on everything except for when the phone is in speakerphone mode. I was hoping to reduce the "tinnyness" of callers with a treble reduction and midrange boost.
Can something similar be done with the headphone jack? I use it often to connect to my car stereo and even at max volume it's not very loud.
Well it seems to have solved MY problem, which was low volume on the ringtones - I was missing calls, with the phone in my pocket - beyond that, I didn't fiddle around with the settings.
Thanks much!
-Mike
should we restart after applying settings? i rely find no difference at all . som1 can explain me why?

CM7 has DSP Manager which will boost volume perfectly.

Have you noticed how bad is audio in HTC One S? No, I'm not talking about equalizer or BeatAudio (with headphones) but how the sound is distorted, trashed, and often with micro-stutterings, for example with games like Pinball Arcade, or emulators like Mame4Droid etc.
With games you can often hear distortions, audio channels clipping on maximized sounds, little crackles and often micro-stuttering...
Max volume is also very low.
HTC has to improve the poor audio drivers for this phone, definitely...
Poor audio drivers and limited multitasking are the only defects of this sp IMHO.

You need a new phone.
HTC One S has been praised for its sound quality. No problems here. Also this phone is one of the best sounding music phones when paired with eq I have ever heard!

Gsmarena does a review on like every phone, in their review for the One S we had the best audio ever basically. No buzzing, crackling or anything.
Also, a lot of times its the games audio that's messed up because its not 100% compatible with our phones/ the game just sucks.

I've had similar problems with the sound but only when the headphone jack has some pressure on it or is being moved.

I agree with what everyone is saying on here. The one s audio quality is brilliant and is one of the reasons why I have it. U may need to try a new phone

I have to add in that at times I heard some slight static like noise when I have the phone to my ear during call. Very minor though.
For the most part though I use plantronics bluetooth head set.

I have the same sound problem. However the company doesn't want to change the HTC One S ):
I have problems with mine, as well. Almost during every call I get this small and annoying interruptions in headphone. Music sounds great, though. And no, my problem is unlikely to be connected to signal strength or radio as I`m always under fulls signal area and I`ve tried all the radios possible and got the same result.

The 1.11 and 1.11t radios eliminated the in call audio issues I was having so if you haven't checked the development thread in a while you may want to check out the new one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069237
I have read several threads on the quality of the speakers and their output.
How is this tab with headphones? I will be using headphones 99% of the time.
EDIT...I posted this in the wrong forum by mistake can a mod move this?
For my taste the sound is more than good enough for the average user (like me).
I've used my tablet with some old razor headset so you'll probably be satisfied unless you're some serious audiophile and maybe even then.

I think it sounds great. It is a different sound. Gotta get use to it. Kinda like in a studio. No echo or surround sound. Its crisp. Bass is deep. I'm using Bose QC3.

so i just bought the Jaybird Bluebud x bluetooth headphones, and they have amazing sound quality on my iPhone but when i switched them over to my galaxy s3, the sound quality wasn't as good, it was all grainy and stuff, i am currently using ParanoidAndroid 3+ as my daily driver i tried all different equalizers on the play store and it helped a little but it still wasnt that good, so my question is does anyone know of a good EQ or ROM that works good with bluetooth headphones? wired headphones sound great its just the bluetooth.

what would be the best touchwiz rom in your opinion? ive had bad luck with the Synergy Rom, the one where they changed the lockscreen to all blue for better unlock, it always slowed down for me after 15 days or so were it would take forever to unlock and open apps, and could name the top 3 that you like,
Cleanrom is the only one I stick with really.

Will that option pass through Bluetooth 4.0? Would be nice to hear that in my car.
Doubt it.

The only possible way you could hear a difference in your headphones is if your headphones are 7.1 themselves.

Not true. It wouldn't sound like true 7.1 but there's lots of software emulation out there for surround sound. Take any device with a Surround and Stereo option with stereo headset, speakers, earbuds etc and there's a marked difference. Not as good as having real 7.1 hardware but it's an improvement depending on what you're listening to (I like it better for movies but it's not good for music typically).

You're right. I checked again its not actual 7.1, but "Virtual 7.1 Channel" - the closest your going to get to 7.1 on a phone.

Not to hear a difference, you don't. Have you honestly not ever heard of virtual surround on stereo speakers? It's been around since the 5.1 days. It sounds no where near as good as having actual surround sound hardware but there is a big difference in sound. Naturally if you prefer it is dependent on you but there IS a difference. As I stated earlier, I found it to be an improvement for movies but not music.
