Volume+ Sound Boost for Gingerbread
Download: Here
Credits: MeltusI've tested it and it's increased the speaker volume drastically without reducing sound quality. It's great for streaming music, radio, live scanner feeds and stuff. It makes the loudspeaker LOUD. Works on my custom ROM (See it in my signature).

Thank you so much!!!!!

Thanks, I just thought it was the phone, had no idea it was the ROM I was running lol. This app works great, using it at one notch below Insane, and it sounds much better now

Thanks. Works great

BETA Version (1.61 whatever)
Speaker Phone:
Speaker Modifications: ON
EQ Settings: GOOD QUALITY
Volume Level: FIVE OR SIX
Bass Enhance: OFF

i ran it on cm7 made NO difference at all ... not a tinny bit :S

Works on CM7 here, stock kernel.
Just a question for you guys: have you come across a volume/equalizer app that works on a speakerphone call? I've gotten Volume+ and DSP Manager to work on everything except for when the phone is in speakerphone mode. I was hoping to reduce the "tinnyness" of callers with a treble reduction and midrange boost.

Can something similar be done with the headphone jack? I use it often to connect to my car stereo and even at max volume it's not very loud.

Well it seems to have solved MY problem, which was low volume on the ringtones - I was missing calls, with the phone in my pocket - beyond that, I didn't fiddle around with the settings.
Thanks much!
-Mike

should we restart after applying settings? i rely find no difference at all . som1 can explain me why?

There's a few apps out there, DSP Manager and MusicFX but I haven't found anything like Voodoo sound for the Galaxy S, which is SICK. We gotta convince supercurio to get an Inspire
Like that would be hard..XD

Ok thanks ill try dsp, does it work with any kernel
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
You wouldn't have a link to dsp I searched xda and the two dsp zip files I found keep aborting in recovery I don't know if its because I have recovery 3.0
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
you need a supported kernel like the one in cyanogen 7 to use the DSP Manager app. DSP comes in cyan 7 ROM anyway...
OP did you try enabling the SRS function in audio? i heard it increases the volume.
also if any 2.3 ROMs are out there, a new API lets us now tap in to the volume so this would probably work on any 2.3 ROM:

Speaker Volume on S-off sensation

Hello everyone, I am starting this thread to find if there are any Devs who can figure out on what is really wrong on the Sensation's speaker volume.
My experience during my HD2 days, I flashed different android roms with some low volume and some have high or loud volume. I think it had to do with the Rom. Is there any ways for the Devs who will make or currently making custom roms to take a look on this? Maybe there is an adjustment in the rom itself where you can override or adjust the overall volume of the speaker. Just a thought, thank you all more power.

Gave ya a thanks for asking this one in the hopes that a dev takes notice.
The external speaker volume ( or lack thereof ) is the only thing that chaps my ass about the Sensation.
You should try using Volume+ it solved my speaker problem

Using it now with the settings suggested in one of the posts around here, it's still pathetic ( almost as pathetic as my old ass ears ).
voodoo sound and video is what the sensation needs combine that with OC/UV it will be insane
Great question, imho. Still have my HD2 (soon upgrading to Sens.), and I'm well aware of the volume level being all over the place with different roms. It seemed as if they weren't even aware, although with all the complaints I don't understand how.
Volume+ is a band-aid workaround, while the issue should just be fixed altogether. I doubt it's a hardware issue.
Volume+ does works
Did you try Equaliser or DSP Manager?
Boosting treble can increase the volume output

midrange is most of the good volume. I think we have plenty of treble already. I boost +15 with a slight mid hump and it sounds great!
I got to play with an evo this past weekend and the volume on that phone is incredible. I'm hoping to get nearly the same levels from my sensation. Tried the market fixes with no real improvement. Thanks for bringing this issue up. The previous answers to the problem were either the market app fixes or wait till s-off. Now we have it....subscribed.

Volume+ and equalizer works, but it would be nice to have a volume hack like the Inspire built into the roms.

I agree with you all about the App market volume or any other, but would like a built in the Rom itself, permanent.

I'm also disappointed with volume on htc sensation. I've tried volume+ but it made no difference!
Interesting question. Following this post now.
Anybody knows if there is a working version of DSP manager for the Sensation??!

Same here.
Even tried to play with the echosettings and stuff, but nothing happened.
Alas Volume+ is not compatible with all custom roms, Equaliser and DSP are...from my experience on DHD.
On N1 volume boost was included in Kernels
If the Sensation has the same speaker as N1 and DHD don't expect miracles, the trick is too boost treble to the maximum, it will make ringtones loud but it will kill the quality too.
The only 2 things that are refraining me to swap my sgs2 to Sensation are the speaker and death grip

Volume +

What settings is everyone using on this app? And does it make a difference?

I have not tried it as of yet, but I am looking for something to boost my speakerphone, it is terrible! Most of the apps distort the sound and make it unusable... interested in this one.
There are a few threads on this already. I have commented on all of them so far lol.
The quick and dirty is that it works for most. It works for me fine. You have to adjust the settings that fit you without busting your speaker lol.
I also use equalizer in conjunction with Volume+. Now I can hear the speakerphone. It's not perfect but it was better than it was IMO.
what i found for best results (i have it set like this on mine and my buddies)
Speaker option checked
volume boost is at +12
equalizer is on good quality
bass boost is on +5
as far as using the equalizer app and volume plus, i dont recommend it. usually causes slightly more muffled music in my opinion.
Thanx for the feedback guys, wot bout eq settings?

Just to throw my 2 cents in, Volume+ has little to no difference... I'm still searching for something similar to GalaxyS VooDoo Sound Hack.

Beats Audio on my Atrix 2!

You guys see a member here ported Beats to work on any GB rom? I flashed it a few min ago but dont see an option to enable it? Anybody else done it yet and can confirm if we should infact see an option for it?
Sent from my MB865 using XDA App
There are no options with it.
It is a set of libraries that modify the audio tuning of the device. You "should" hear a difference with a good set of headphones.
What is the link to flash Beats audio?
Oh ok, time to bust out my Equation Audio's!

The link is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523760
when I flash it do I have to change anything or just simple flash like other roms?
I didn't put this on my a2 yet, but i did on my infuse and it works good.

Really? That's it? Ok.
It was just a subjective before install and after experience. To me the bass was more pronounced but balanced.
You wont be able to tell a big difference unless you have a good pair of headphones.

Nice find. I saw this on the D3 but didn't have the time to test if it would work with the A2.

Just to add to my OP.....
Just yesterday I was perusing the forums when I stumbled upon a thread re: Beats Audio and xLoud and got the itch to give it a go on my phone to see if it would work.....then I wimped out
So when I seen today that somebody got Beats Audio ported for use with any GB rom I jumped at it and flashed it right away without doing any before/after comparison so wasn't able to notice any difference at all on the speaker.
To install it I just flashed it via CWM...didn't wipe anything, then rebooted of course. Well, I forgot that last night I decided to use the "performance" speed governor via SetCPU which sets the cpu freq. to a static 1kHz and didn't take effect until reboot. So I started noticing that my battery was draining awfully fast and the only thing I could remember changing was me flashing Beats Audio so I ended up restoring the backup I made yesterday....but the abnormal battery drain persisted. Then out of the blue I remember about the "performance" governor and set it back to "mot_hotplug", rebooted and checked it out for a couple hours and sure enough that was the issue.
So at this point I decided it was a good time to reflash Beats Audio but first doing an a/b comparison. The IEM's I had handy at the time were MEElectronics M6-P's and the main difference I could tell was a much more defined low end, without being overpowering. The mids/highs seemed to be more natural sounding, not as "tinny" or hollow sounding. I definitely like what I hear!

Faux Sound

Being using this app since a asked rmbq to add the sound codes to the kernel to make it work for one s so all credits to him . Well Faux sound is a great little app and makes a lot of differents I feel in using music players/ sound mods eg walkman mod acid and awesome beats etc... A link to the app in store

It seems that Digital output gain controls not only affects volume on headphones but also in-call speaker volume. I need to have very low digital gain for headphones (for good quality) but then in-call volume on speaker is very low. Is there any way to set digital gains for speaker and headphones separately?
