hello guys
i want to buy android tablet soon & i like the note 10.1 very much
so i want to ask u
does the note 10.1 have black clipping issues like galaxy s3 ?
& is it software or hardware related ?
Below is a attachment of test pattern, you have to download and view the image within note gallery, preferably in a dark room, and at maximum brightness. if you can see the left bar boxes 10 to 1 with little to no gradual gradient then most likely note has the black crush issue
if someone can post screenshots of this 4 images on his tab
thanks
So many views yet not one reply
I'm not sure if I have a problem or not lol

I see the numbered gradient bar in all four pictures. They look the same on my Note 10.1 as they do on the external LCD connected to PC. I think black clipping just affected the original Note OLED. Note 10.1 is PLS LCD. Looks fine on my Note II too.

hi got my samsung galaxy note 6 months ago and I'm considering changing the screen and cover from black to white so one question i have is there any difference in the screen the gt-n7000 anyways e.g sensors . if anyone could help i would appreciate it thanks always chris
Hi Guys,, I have Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 , l notice that the black background of S3 is much darker than the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Galaxy S3 - pure black background
Galaxy Note 10.1 - you will see the backlight on black background.
By the way, I am using pure black wallpaper, that's why I notice it.
Don't get me wrong both devices are okay and no problem encountered, this is just a casual question .
Thanks,.

This is normal the s3 has amoled display which in general has good black levels than the normal (pls screen in note 10.1 ) bec oled displays illuminates it self thus it doesnt need back leds to illuminate so when it is in black oled screens are actually off (not working in the black areas ) but pls screens are brighter and have more accurate colors

What is the question? I don't see one.
Hi everyone,
We all know that both Galaxys (see the title) have equal hardware (1.6 GHz vs 1.4 GHz; no NFC for the tablet) so I'm wondering which is the best for me? (Asking for advice and opinions)
What I want:
-Great to prepare presentations
-Like photo editing
-Fun stuff
And Thanks for all...
N7000, but...
I have had the N7000 since it came out. I really like it but the small screen is an issue in doing things like you describe with the pen. OK for notes, but the 10.1 is much better for that and other pen uses.
Thank You!!
But the S Pen capabilities are the same in both devices? I mean the pen shortcuts (for example) ,as shown in some N7000 videos, are available for the tablet?
Yes, but the larger screen means its easier to manipulate data/text. You can see almost an A4 page whereas on a smaller screen note 2 you will be scrolling around a bit or looking at really small pages...
You can make and receive calls on both devices (n8000 model for note 10.1) so that's the same, I tend to use my bluetooth stylus on the note 10.1 as its easier and more private than speakerphone. Also it looks better to have a pen in your pocket than a bluetooth headset attached to your ear....
Basically, if you can live without the nfc and the hd screen then the note is better all round as it is easier to use if you intend to use it for business or pleasue. Reading books, watching movies, playing games, surfing the web and writing text are easier on the bigger screen.
If I sound biased, it's because I am... You are on the note 10.1 forum...

Yes after jellybean update all note 2 spen features are now on note 10.1 , personally I tried both but I've chosen note 10.1 because of better multiwindow integration and the pen seems better on note 10.1 and talking about the proceasor they both have same 4412 processor and you can safe overclock your note up to 1.6 without problems as it is already exists in samsung stock kernel

Hi
I have exactly the same problem as described in this Note 10.1(2014) post:
"Hi there,
not sure if it is the same thing. No matter what [Display/screen] mode I choose, yellow comes out quite muddy and dirty, I am not able to get a clear, nice yellow out of the screen, always turns out like brownish. Is this common? I had read about "accurate colors" which isn't the case with my unit. Other colors seem more natural to me...
Thanks in advance

On my screen, all other colors than yellow/orange look great....
But the difference in yellow/orange - when compared with a Galaxy s4 or iPad - is clearly visible. Have a look at a Shell, Tide or DHL logo or compare with the yellow in the chrome logo.
Does anyone experience the same issue?
yellow/orange color problem example picture
Here is an example of the different yellow colors between Note Pro 12.2, Galaxy S4 and iPad2 in a picture (out of camera).
Similar case to the lenovo Yoga 2 Pro "yellow correction"?
I hope it's not similar to the Lenovo "yellow correction" problem. The display of the yoga 2 Pro has similar technology as the Note Pro and many Lenovo users reported the "yellow" problem (a 116 pages thread in their support forum...):
"“The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro utilizes a Samsung LCD panel with a Pentile Red-Green-Blue-White (RGBW) pixel matrix, as opposed to a standard Red-Green-Blue (RGB) matrix on more conventional LCD panels.”
=> look for "Yoga 2 Pro 13 Yellow Color Issues" at the lenovo forums,
the pictures in the first post are very similar to mine...
The good news: It seems that a BIOS Update by Lenovo helped to solve the problem there.
I just found this issue.
In my opinion, samsung put the CMYK filter in the display software . this make bright yellow in RGB turn into "process yellow" in CMYK (make the yellow is more brown.) which is more accurate for printing .
but on the LCD screen like computor and other mobilephone, it look dull and too dark.:crying:
Might be something wrong with yours. Yellow seems ok on mine. Sm-p900 vs Nexus 10

i have another color issue but with pink color i have patches of pink color in the bottom of the screen?
Evidently. The NotePro has an LCD screen, and the S4/S5/Note 3 are AMOLED.
You can't expect the two to look alike.

Hey guys. Sorry for my english. Have you found anything else? I'm having the same problem here. Some sort of greenish yellow, but no problems with any other color.
Have you returned your tablet for RMA?
Thanks!
Hey guys. I noticed that whenever I pull down my notification / settings bar the yellows displayed on background stuff looks normal. This is kind of an annoying find, as it shows that the note pro is capable of correct colors
Same problem. Is there a solution?
I know that its a old thread, but is there a solution to that problem?
yellow on the Note Pro 12.2 looks more like mustard.

Don't compare an LCD display to a LED display, especially an AMOLED or a Retina display.
The color gamut in an AMOLED display is 4 times that of an LCD display. That means an AMOLED display can display 4 times more vibrant colours than an LCD display.
An LCD panel will never display the same level of colour vibrancy as a LED panel. Which is why LED panels are so much more expensive. (A NotePro with an AMOLED display would've cost over 2000 quid.)
There's no solution because there is no problem. It's just how an LCD displays yellow.
Using a colour correction app won't work, because you can't increase the vibrancy.
Hi Guys,
I dont know how to put this across. Let me explain anyway..
I clicked a pic of a colorful flower using my Nexus 5 (HDR+). Then shared the pic to my wife's Note 3 (Exynos) via Bluetooth.
When seen the same pic on both the phones, I see that the color composition is very fade in Nexus 5. For e.g. the green leaf will appear more greenish in Note 3 and looks faded in Nexus 5. Likewise, the red petals on Nexus 5 looks dull compared to how it appears in Note 3.
I have checked this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...exus-5-color-related-faq-calibration-t2763857
But the information is way more technical in nature and too geeky.
Is there a simpler way to make the colors looks more sharper in Nexus 5 running lollipop? Like a custom kernel, etc.?
Thanks,
Dinesh
