Hi Guys,, I have Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 , l notice that the black background of S3 is much darker than the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Galaxy S3 - pure black background
Galaxy Note 10.1 - you will see the backlight on black background.
By the way, I am using pure black wallpaper, that's why I notice it.
Don't get me wrong both devices are okay and no problem encountered, this is just a casual question .
Thanks,.

This is normal the s3 has amoled display which in general has good black levels than the normal (pls screen in note 10.1 ) bec oled displays illuminates it self thus it doesnt need back leds to illuminate so when it is in black oled screens are actually off (not working in the black areas ) but pls screens are brighter and have more accurate colors

What is the question? I don't see one.
hello guys
i want to buy android tablet soon & i like the note 10.1 very much
so i want to ask u
does the note 10.1 have black clipping issues like galaxy s3 ?
& is it software or hardware related ?
Below is a attachment of test pattern, you have to download and view the image within note gallery, preferably in a dark room, and at maximum brightness. if you can see the left bar boxes 10 to 1 with little to no gradual gradient then most likely note has the black crush issue
if someone can post screenshots of this 4 images on his tab
thanks
So many views yet not one reply
I'm not sure if I have a problem or not lol

I see the numbered gradient bar in all four pictures. They look the same on my Note 10.1 as they do on the external LCD connected to PC. I think black clipping just affected the original Note OLED. Note 10.1 is PLS LCD. Looks fine on my Note II too.
Here's the thing: I recently bought myself a Galaxy S3, coming from the original GT-I9000.
I've noticed that the blacks are 'blacker' and whites are 'whiter' on the S1 compared to the S3.
What? Why? I thought the S3 was supposed to be better :'( or is it just my device that is faulty?
I have attached an image I took in the dark comparing the whites on both using that app "LCD-Test(AMOLED READY)"
S3 Left and S1 on Right
Help me out please?
Hi, wondering which one is best? Only concern is the s6 edge plus leaking light and also not using the whole screen because of the edges.
Thankyou all
Hello,
I am user of Samsung phones over a decade. Started with S2 and then S3, Note 4, S7 Edge, Note 9.
Got into green screen issue twice in Note 9. Got a free replacement first time. But no luck on second time which occured just 2 days back. While browsing through internet, I can see that most of the Note and S series face the green screen issue.
Is there any latest model of S and Note series that do not get affected by green tint issue?. Please suggest.

Never had green tint with my S2,S4, Note, Note 2, Note 3, Note 4, S6,S8,S9 S20, S21 Ultra or S22 ultra. My friends with Note 20s also haven't had the issue.
My orginal note 1 I think had some modem issues which had to be replaced
I think you were just unlucky that one time with that Note 9
S3, S4, Note 10.1, Tab Pro, Note 4, Note 9, Tab S6, S22U and I have never even heard of this problem.
In my opinion it depends on how sensitive you are regarding this.

Reddish/pinkish screen on Galaxy S22 Ultra when tilted

Surprising to hear this. I bought Note 9 in India and it is Exynos processor. Many users in India have reported the green screen issues in many S and Note phones.
Can you please let me know
1. Where(country) have you bought the phone phone?
2. Is it Exynos or Snapdragon processor?

Something that I hwve noticed and I don't want to make a new thread for is that when watching 4k videos on YouTube my screen instantly goes into a less vibrant mode. And it goes back to normal after i exit out of the video. Been noticed this awhile now but never thought much of it. It happens both on my phones and tablets so I'm not sure if it's a vanced youtube, or a Samsung thing.
Anybody else encountered this?
Edit - so i guess it must be a vanced thing after all It didn't happen when i clicked on my own embed here and watched in browser.
Here's a video for example

I've never encountered this with any Samsung phone I've owned (S2 Fascinate, Galaxy Nexus, Note 2, S8+, Note 8, Note 10+, and S22 Ultra). Nor have I seen it on any of my wife's and daughter's phones. All of our Samsung phones were Snap Dragon powered though.
I've encountered the pinkish tint on my S8+, but Samsung pushed an update to fix (mostly) that problem.
As far as it is "most" S and Note phones, that means 51%, or more of them had this problem. Which is unlikely in the extreme.
It's possible that there was a batch of Note 9's that had defective screens and you were "lucky" enough to get two of them in a row.
Since the S8 tint issue, samsung includes a fine tool to change the system white balance and RGB values.
In the latest S22U, go to Display, vivid Color and the white balance and RGB options are available, RGB values can be changed there.
Another option is also in the Accessibi, ity menu, under Visibility Enhancements , Color adjustments.
