[Q] forgot password & wifi off - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My friend forgot the password of his transformer. He thinks he left the wifi switched off, so he couldn't get the "Sign in to google to unlock" to work.
he doesn't want to reset everything and lose his data, so is there any way to fix it? can I root it and delete some file to remove the password?

Bump

Try this. They mention an app that will unlock your screen at every reboot. If he does have any sort of connectivity (which you can see even if the screen is locked) you can push the app from the play store, then just reboot your device. Otherwise it's factory reset it seems... thought there's probably a way through ADB, just can't help you there. But if you figure where the stored password is, you may be able to manually remove it somehow.

Well if it's connected then problem solved because he can unlock with Google password. Thanks though. (I haven't heard from him so I'm not sure what he did)

TF101 - unlockable, can I back up???

Hello everyone.
Here is my predicament. My daughter has a TF101 that is OEM with no root/ROM etc. The tablet has been offline for a few months now. We attempted to bring the tablet online last night and of course we forgot the unlock code. The "forgot password" option with her gmail account will not unlock the system as the wireless we had is changed out and the tablet can not contact the google servers.
Can anyone help with a way to unlock the system. Or a way to backup the tablet so I can reload.
Thank you
Tony
Excuse me, but I don't quite understand what you mean. Do you need access to your internet router? or google account? if it's your router you can look it up on any computer connected to it, or reset the router (hold reset button for 15seconds) and set a new password. If it's google then try recovering the password on a physical computer.

OK. let me see id I can explain this another way. All I get on the logon screen of the transformer is to reset using your gmail account. The tablet is unable to reset as we type the gmail account and password with no results.
Any help would be great.

Can you access the Play Store from a PC? This method require you use a PC.
You can install app to your tf from your PC, just log into the Play Store with the same google account as your tf.
Find the app, click install, choose the device and it will auto install to your device. After this app installed, choose another app, any app and do the same. If it work your lock screen will be bypass. Backup your stuffs, do a factory reset to get rid of the lock code
From what I'm reading he can't unlock the tablet due to too many attempts. He also can't unlock it with the google account because it can't access his wireless router. That would also make him unable to install the app to bypass the screenlock. I'm not sure if there is any other way to get around it. unless you take the tablet to somewhere else that you had used wifi and hope they haven't also changed their wireless. Other than that a factory wipe is all I can think of.
Can you just set the SSID and password on the wifi router to a known good value that the TF is looking for? In other words, make your current wifi mimic the old one?
ADB might be a option too, although I bet that is a slim chance.

Google Account failed password?

So i recently had to change my Google account password and upon doing so, obviously the account was removed or had to be signed into again on my phone. Long story short, after doing a reset and such, my Charge tells me I have the wrong password again and again. I can log in everywhere else except my phone. Any ideas as to why this would be?
My guess is that ur old password is still saved in the phones mem, maybe even the sd card. Have u wiped data/factory reset yet? If u have, then maybe u need to odin back to stock.

Funny thing is, it's completely stock. This is a replacement phone. I did do a wipe/factory reset though.
Have you tried logging in through the browser on the phone rather than the app screen?
Are you using a keyboard like SwiftkeyX, which has the nasty habit of appending a space at the end of the text string?
No downloaded keyboards, nothing. I am unable to even add my google account to my phone at this moment.

LG Stylo Cricket (H63410g) Google FRP lock bypass...stuck, requesting input

Hello,
Long time lurker, first time poster, so forgive me in advance for any rules I've overlooked. I'll start by saying I am the legitimate owner of the phone. I have searched all over for information regarding FRP bypass for this particular phone and version, but have come up with nothing. I believe I found a method that gets me halfway to the goal, but I'm stuck at a particular point. Let me quickly go through what I've done so far;
1) After factory reset, from the main setup screen, go into accessibility.
2) At the bottom, click Switch Access.
3) Enable Switch Access, and then click settings in the lower right.
4)At the bottom, click Assign Keys to Actions
5) At the bottom, assign a key press to overview. I use volume down.
6) Back out to the device setup home screen.
7) Click through until you reach the network selection screen.
8) You will need to connect to a network that requires sign-in through a browser. The xfinity hotspots work the best.
9) Once connected to xfinity, the phone will auto open Chrome.
10) Use a free trial for xfinity hotspot, or log in with your comcast credentials.
11) Search google for "google maps", and find the result for google maps.
12) when you click on the google maps link, it will open a menu asking you to choose either chrome or the maps app.
13) select the maps app, and do a search for a random business that has a phone number.
14) Once the business info comes up, click call.
15) This will open the phone app. From there, go into the settings, and click on sound settings.
16) Voila! This brings you to the settings menu.
Now, my issue. It seems there is no way (or no option at least) to do a soft system restore from within the operating system. Now, I have tried disabling various apps, and stopping various proccesses in order to remove whatever process is responsible for the FRP notice, but to no avail. Ive even rooted the device and uninstalled anything I could think might be the culprit.
What do we do next folks??
Halp!
Thanks.:good:
I had this happen to me earlier and used this method. www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=b7xlXPDBxmY Just go download the file over at his blog. Put the phone in download mode and pick option #2. His phone reboots automatically in the video. Mine didn't, but I just powered it off and back on. I then had the option to skip past the the email portion.
just unplug ur router exactly when the phone says checking for updates and it'll let you skip the whole Google account thing. but you have to do it at the perfect time. took me 5 or 6 tries but it worked[emoji56]

Bumping to see if there's been another legit solution. I too have an LG G Stylo locked with the FRP. I've tried reflashing stock firmware, I've tried the Tungkick software, I've tried 6th_hokage's sofrware too, still no success.

Thanks but no, doesn't work. The overview and allow from unknown sources features have been patched. Can't use either option despite being able to backdoor into the browser, downloading the app, and even selecting it to install.
Interesting. What version numbers do you have?

Im having this problem as well, any help would be greatly appreciated
easy peasy
Look I nuked my phone I'm typing on a tripped out barcode scanner. I used lg backup to get through on my stylo. After the reset try and connect to a generic WiFi and then do a screen shot and share it via email that will get you on the web and then you should be able to search for and open up the settings app by choosing manage accounts while in the browser. Once your in settings clear all data on every app that says Google. But if you clear setup wizard you should be good. Then you should be able to restart as a new device
Try disabling the Set Up Wizard

what's the trick?
No matter what you do if you can use any method to access the settings app/page from there you can go into the apps section and just disable the setup wizard and you'll get into the phone.
Ive been working on this for hours it feels like, last time i bypassed in ten minutes (different phone). Wont allow me to disable setup wizard or google play services, what options are there? Everything i have tried they have blocked ...

I restored my phone using Mobile Upgrade Q, but now I'm locked out

After doing a full reset on my phone using Mobile Upgrade Q (which successfully removed CM and TWRP from my phone) I get an error message when trying to set up Android saying "sign in with a google account that was previously synced on this device." I've only ever used one google account with this device, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Its factory reset protection, you have to log in with the google account associated with the phone prior to reset.... To avoid this in future or if you sell phone just remove your Google account in settings... accounts before factory reset... It's the equivalent of iCloud locking on Apple, designed to cut down on theft.... If you cant remember the password you can go to the Google account recovery page for assistance
https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery
I don't understand. I WAS logged into the account prior to the reset, on CM. It's the only account I've ever used on this phone, and I haven't changed the password.
How do I unlock it? Is it even possible, or does it think I stole the phone?
Is it possible to reinstall TWRP and CM now? Just to have a useable phone?

Here is a writeup on how and why frp works like it does....
http://www.pcnexus.net/2015/12/what...gle-72-hour-lockout-android-lollipop.html?m=1
There are some hacks around it, but I have never tried them, best method to avoid frp headaches is to simply remove your Google acct prior to any reset
Is there anything special I have to do to login in 24 hours? Is it 24 hours from the first time I reset or the last time I reset (I wiped it a few times trying to get in)?

Thank you for the link. Just to be clear, in case future people ever find this thread: during the 24 hour lock out, you cannot unlock the phone, EVEN WITH THE CORRECT ACCOUNT NAME AND PASSWORD. Oddly enough, the device can still receive phone calls, and displays the caller's contact name. So it's definitely logged into my account, it's just locked out of doing anything except receiving calls. Also, I can hear that the phone is receiving text messages, though I have no way to read or reply to them.
Once I unlock it, I will update this thread with how and what it looks like, again, just in case someone finds this thread in the future, because this information is hard to find.

This happened to me yesterday so I hope it works for me as well.
You know what, I just happened to be looking for the official Alcatel factory flash tool and came across this post because after a few factory resets I was able to get the phone to boot up......BUT, as described above, the phone will only accept the PREVIOUS password which I forgot.... I simply requested a new password be created and it doesn't unlock the phone.
So now I too must wait 24, wow.
This is BS.. I mean, yeah I factory reset the phone because after my son accepted a system update, his phone kept bootlooping and his battery doesn't want to accept a charge now (so it seems per the display).....but what if I want to sell my phone? We have to remove the gmail account prior??????? Wow way to go Alcatel. And if this is actually an Android feature, it sucks.
Now, can anyone direct me to the actual official Alcatel upgrade tool????? I want to just flash this stock unrooted phone to out of box condition so we can trade his phone in. The Alcatel website no longer offers it from what I can see. Thanks!

It's an android security feature introduced in 5.1 LP, it only triggers the wait if you reset any way other than from settings. It's similiar to an iCloud lock, so yes if you sell phone remove google account, or if your buying a used phone make sure the google account is removed prior to reset, or boot up phone and make sure you can get passed the lockout before buying it!!

~Please Help~How to bypass lockscreen passcode without wiping data? I am the owner ..

I am the owner of the phone. Have been using it for almost 6 month. I have my face, fingerprint and passcode set on the phone.
last week I got into a big fight with my girlfriend and just don't want her to get into my phone again. So i changed the passcode from the one we both know to a new one..... Since she know all my passcode, I changed it to one that I don't use often...Now I can't remember it...
I have all my google account on the phone and I know all my previous passcode .I also have my fingerprint and face registered.. I already talked to google. They asked me to reset my pixel. I don't want to. There is one chating app ( wechat) that has all my history with my family( parent, sister and newphew) and their photos. I don't want to lose that.....
Please someone help me find a way to bypass the passcode, or let me use the old one... please.
It has been rooted and unlocked bootloader but i have not yet install recovery on it yet
I assume you have rebooted and need to enter a password since it won't accept the fingerprint as the 1st form of authentication? Any chance you have a Titanium backup with data saved offline? You could reset the phone and reinstall apps with data. That should take care of the chatting app.
For that particular app, not yet have titannium backed up offline.... I guess I am screwed.
I think that with Google "find my device" (search it from your browser) you can remotely change the password/pin.
I never did that, but I know that there is an option, you can always give it a try
I tested the find my device thing once. It definitely does ask for your password that is currently on your account.
I tried this option. But since I already had a passcode there, it won't ask for a new code that I just set up...
"If you already have a screen lock, it will be used instead of the password you just set up."
