Hello
So i have a little problem which is really anoying ...
I'm running the lastest stock FW which is Jelly Bean 4.1.1, and my device is rooteed ( i updated with OTA RootKeeper) and i'm sure i'm rooted because somes apps that requires root are working perfectly.
I have tried every single app on the market that would allow me to move my apps to the SD card but no success, every app fails ...
Any idea on how to fix this ?
Thanks in advance

Look for link2sd on the market. This app will move your apps to your sdcard then create a reference point for the OS to find the app. The draw back is it's a little technical to set this up. You need to create 2 partitions on your sd card, first partion is fat32 to store your normal stuff and the second partion formatted with ext4 for the apps. Currently there is no other app can move app to sd.

Why would you need it anyway? 32 or 64 GB of space not enough for apps?

Well, let's say that some apps requires a certain patch that only works when the patch is applied to an app that has been moved to the SD card :fingers-crossed:
You can also use the app directory bind to do this on ICS or JB.
With large apps like GTA3, GTA Vice CIty, and Madden, even with a 32g card being able to move large apps to sd would be a godsend. Its making my god tablet slow being filled up. Be nice to find a workaround...

do you mean i just uninstall my current version of link2sd and install this to replace it? The space my apps use on the sd card is like 270mb(definately more than internal space). if i uninstall link2sd, then wont all the apps be unlinked but due to lack of space all the apps wont load up so how do i replace my current link2sd with the one u provided? (I appreciate the effort and time u take to help me solve my problem, thx!)

I was having weird problems with apps missing in market overnight (particularly ones I had installed), but they're back this morning. Maybe Google's running some maintenance/upgrade on the market.
I wanna use my microsd as main storage.

I had slight issue with something else but fixed it earlier today, here is exactly what I did; formatted ext sd card to fat32,
then did a full wipe using philz recovery (option which says wipe to install new rom),
then formatted internal memory, /sdcard
Then pressed full wipe for new rom AGAIN,
Then flashed rom (am running HD ROM 7.0),
Then flashed script.

because you specifically keep mentioning temple run I just tried it AND YES for some reason on both temple run one and two my actuall device memory goes down instead of the SD card, to be honest before this about 4 months ago I tried this and also had a problem where I could not install anything at ALL EVEN FROM THE PLAYSTORE, this script seems to be quite buggy for me personally, im going to go back to normal. I am going to look for an alternative. Also the parsing error which got fixed is back again LOL! Wasted money on a 64gb it seems.

Yes, I feel like I wasted money for the sd too,but also I feel stupid for not knowing all of these storage stuff at the first place. Honestly, I won't go back cuz if your fond of gameloft games or games really big on MBs you actually can save some memory. I have 7 gameloft games installed which are about 1 gb each and they have taken no more than 0.50 from the internal(all together). All games with Cache will work that way cuz the cache can go in the external (e.x with cache http://android.mob.org/game/dungeon_hunter_4.html ) if you scroll down where it writes download the last one is the cache, its close to 1GB. But, it still isn't fully working,as small games, which in my opinion happen to be the best for tablets don't store there. In the future i might change too, i get no errors or anything so far. Maybe a new script or something comes by then, that is actually working? :fingers-crossed:
If you find something better, tell me. I'm not so pleased with this script either

Once again, thank you! I'll be really busy these months but I'll read it right away when I find time.I appreciate it :good:
I have tried to move apps to sdcard with Link2SD and other similar apps. It fails and says that I can't move them because my device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage.
Here is a screenshot of the message
Howdy!
as far as I have found out (and been following this problem on and off since I got my plus a few months ago) there is no proper way to move apps to your SD card. Best solution (and the one I am using) is to partition your SD Card then use Link2SD to link apps on your SD. You can set it up to do so automatically for every new app you install. As for partitioning I found this guide the best since I'd never attempted it before but it works really well.

Well, my phone was rooted anyway but I think Link2SD needs it. As to why exactly it needs to be partitioned I can only tell you that when my card wasn't partitioned as suggested in the guide I linked then Link2SD wouldn't even offer to link the apps. I am no expert as I pointed out but this was a solution that worked for me. It may well be someone else found something better that doesn't require partitioning. To my knowledge doing things this way requires root AND the partitioned SD card.

Yeah, I tried Apps to SD as well but without success. You get exactly the message as the OP said here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42863865&postcount=2
Same goes for Link2SD however once you partitioned it at least offers you to link the apps. But like I said that only happened after I did the partitioning. Beforehand it would not even offer that.
I am not entirely sure what or why Samsung did what they did in kinda blocking the moving of apps to an external card but it it really blows considering that you only get a somewhat limited amount of storage to begin with.

Hello again brother. Same here. Before partitioning there was not any option to create link even.
I did the partitioning stuff did work. I can successfully transfer my apps into the ext2 partition i created. (Btw which partition format did you go with?)
How ever I believe folder mount is still a better option as it does not require you to create partitions and works directly such as you enter a brand new card without partition and move apps into card and then it links it. But the only drawback is you need to purchase the app :

Well ext4 didn't work for me idky though ext2 did and it worked. But creating partitions is pure junk and it would reduce the life and speed of your card (its something i believe) so I deleted the partitions and brought my card into original format.
And yes man Folder Mount is something we need ! It does exactly what both of us want. Simply move all the app data from internal memory to external memory and as soon as you move you have empty space on your internal storage and external storage is occupied. Its simple and very clear and easy to use. Just 3 clicks i believe and its done. And another good stuff is it will show you how much an app is occupying internal space and then moves it into SD card and also doesn't show important system apps to move as moving them creates problem.
There's a free version to try which would allow you to move 3 apps only and if you want more then buy the app for 2 Dollars.
Its developed by @madmack. Do check it out. The sad part for me is I dont have a credit card nor Paypal is available in my country
And i need this app badly !
I just bought a shield and apparently it has a feature to move apps from internal to external. When I use is, the move never works (says not supported or error). Is my only solution to root and use one of the rooted apps like Foldermount? Just want to make sure before I root b/c as of now I have not done that and my 16gb is being crushed by games.

yes - latest OTA as I updated once I booted up via wifi. Ok - so it;'s not me. Any ETA on the fix b/c I rather not root if possible. If it's TBD, I'll root tonight.
btw - really LOVE the shield thus far. Now if I can only figure out how to truly remove a gamemapper setting and not have to hold/presss then select move to move the buttons, I'll be good. I swear - I set to default and then go back to the game and it goes right back to the original settings I d/l via the d/l option. Very fustrating
it doesn't work with all games.
For now I tried it with Nova 3 and that worked.
