ok so you have flashed the same radio that was with the rom im guessing thats the one it should be the thing to check does the wifi work. this dosnt require any network settings to be correct so you should be able to detect a connection even if you dont have one mayb your neibourhs do. alright if that dosn't work its the radio if it does its the network settings specific to your carrier settings. what your looking for is the apn settings for your carrier hopefully someone has posted them on the internet somewhere.
they'll look something like this:
Name TPG Mobile
APN internet
Proxy (blank)
Port (blank)
Username (blank)
Password (blank)
Server (blank)
MMSC (blank)
MMS Proxy (blank)
MMS Port (blank)
MMS Protocol (blank)
MCC 505
MNC 02
APN Type default
MMS settings
Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> Tap your phone's menu button -> New APN
And then fill in the fields as below:
Name Optus MMS
APN mms
Proxy 202.139.83.152
Port 8070
Username (blank)
Password (blank)
Server (blank)
MMSC http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/
MMS Proxy 61.88.190.10
MMS Port 8070
MMS Protocol WAP2.0
MCC 505
MNC 2
APN Type mms
these are of course mine and probably wont work for your carrier. if that dosn't work let me know

[Q] 2.3.3 Update GRH78/GRH78C has problems, Full Rom OK?

Hi everyone, just wanted to get some feed back here.
Most of the posted problems re 2.3.3 I haven't had, maybe because I did the full ROM update? not the GRH78/GRH78C update.
My back button is fine, my screen colour is slightly different but OK, No connection issues, generally OK except for USB mass storage screen typo error in box, now fixed by changing to United states in language..
Also maybe a factor that my Nexus S is a UK model and this 2.3.3 is a United States OTA/full ROM?
I think i may have solved the problem with the wifi/3g, but could you do me a favour so i can confirm before i post my findings, could you post your apn settings for both internet and mms, it doesn't matter what network you're on as i need to compare a few different network apn settings, the settings need to be the phones default apn's, not manualy created apn's.
Thanks!

my phone is from the united states bought at bestbuy and i can confirm that the typo bug exists on the language english ( uk) . so dont worry abt the ur phone being uk version and os being..... it doesnt matter.
We all receive the same software updates. In fact there is no difference. It only matters if you have the slcd version ( which obviously you dont)

Is this a combined/single apn?, if it is then i guessing you see the 3g ocon in the notification bar even when you're connected to wifi, if this is the case then try deleting all listed apn's and creating two seperate apn's, one for internet and one for mms, try the settings below, they should work, if they don't just set your apn's back to default by pressing menu > reset to default.

In the above quote you haven't listed the apn type, if the apn type only has "default" in the field then this is why you don't have wifi/3g issues, as soon as a single apn is used for both internet & mms the ussue is present, it also seems we can't have any more that on apn type listed in the apn type field, the internet apn needs to have "default" only in the apn type, same with the mms apn, you can only have "mms" as the apn type, this issue wasn't pressent before the update to 2.3.3.
I upgraded from GRH78 direct to 2.3.3 with the upgrade package.
The only issue I've noticed is USB storage message is incorrect.
The colours look fine to me.

Hi _thomo, just change language to united states to fix text in usb storage..

Unlimited APN

I hope this help throttled users. Since the wap.cingular APN bypass doesn't work anymore I use the visual voicemail APN to avoid being throttled. Create a new access point network and use acds.voicemail for APN, select internet+mms for APN type, and save. This gives me 2-3Mbps speed, good enough to stream radio and it doesn't trigger data counter.

Not sure why it's not working on others but it's working for me. You need to have visual voicemail activated with your LTE data plan. This apn is unlimited, meaning your data usage will always stay at 0. Data speed is between 2-3 Mbps. Btw if you're in an LTE area sometimes this apn won't work. Everytime I go to NYC or sometimes at Queens, my data is on/off with this apn, no big deal coz I just use the 'pta' APN.

I don't use visual voice mail, is it necessary that I do to make this work? If so, how does one "activate" it? Do I have to make a phone call to ATT or is it something I can do on my phone? Also, do you disable packet data before you switch the APN to the voicemail one and then reenable it? Of course all of this might not matter, I do live in San Francisco/LTE area...still willing to give it a shot though
Man they are gonna notice this thread and by tomorrow the apn will not work. Please remove this thread to avoid the few of us who have found that this works from getting disconnected just like the rest of the apn fixes.
We are spied on by At&t workers constantly so they are always a step behind us but catch up quick...

Open AT&T visual voicemail app and let it setup your vvm. Once everything is done, create this apn and save. This apn only works if you're using the AT&T visual voicemail app. Like what other have said, this apn sometimes don't work if you're in an LTE area. My friend just bought a Galaxy Note and he's using this apn with no problem.
Is visual voicemail a feature that I need to add to my monthly plan? Free or $$$? I opened up the app and it says I need to dial voice mail to set it up, all I get when I go to voicemail is it prompts me for my password and then goes to the normal mailbox options

No, visual voicemail is free. It is included with your LTE data plan. When you open the app it will dial your voicemail and ask you for your password. Once you enter your password, either end call or press *. After that it will go back to the visual voicemail app again.

Not getting mms text messages

I have an unlocked nexus one for t mobile and k haven't been able to get mom's messages ever since I unlocked it can anyone help me with this problem?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
You have to have correct mms setting to receive and send those messages. You can get your settings from your carrier.
Settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> GSM/UMTS Options -> Access point names -> press menu -> New APN
These are the fields I had to set:
Name
APN
MMSC
MMS proxy
MCC
MNC
Authentication type
APN type
I used android 2.2 for this instruction so there may be slight differences.
Had the same problem with optus here in oz, rang them got the mms settings now alls good

Try clearing the data through settings, manage apps.

The APN settings are found under Settings-> Wireless and Networks-> Mobile Network-> Access Point Names, or the equivalent on your phone's ROM. You can edit or create the settings from there.

[Q] Data does not connect on Airvoice - HTC One X

I just bought a used HTC One X. I factory reset the phone. I signed up to Airvoice Wireless plan and bought a sim card off ebay. I cut the sim to micro sim. Now the phone works.
However, the data will not connect no matter what. Next to mobile network, it says disconnected. I have set the APNs as listed at unlockit.co.nz and I also called AV cs and was on the phone for half an hour - they tried everything, including another factory reset. No luck.
On the top bar it has an "E" but will not connect to 3G.
Has anybody used this plan or another?
Is it android, the htc phone, the sim card, or am I missing something obvious?
The phone is on Android 4.0.4 and is AT&T locked.
APN details:
Name: Mobile Web
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: 66.209.11.33
Port 80
APN Type: default
MMS:
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.co`m
APN Type: mms
proxy and port are the same.
Make sure the apn you put in is selected. It should have a green circle beside it when it's selected.

Yeah. I got that. Still nothing.
Then your apn settings must be wrong.
*edit* I did some research for you. Seems the apn settings on their website are outdated which looks the same as you have. Call them or visit for the correct settings.

Well, now the data works slow. But I still don't see "3G" on the status bar. It always says "E"
Also, there is no option to turn 3G on or off, under Mobile Network, in Settings.
Yes, I called Airvoice and was on the phone for 30min+ and got all the apn settings from them. I guess they're correct but why it didn't work then, but now it suddenly works, I don't know. Beats me.
They may have reset your phone on their network
