Unlimited APN

I hope this help throttled users. Since the wap.cingular APN bypass doesn't work anymore I use the visual voicemail APN to avoid being throttled. Create a new access point network and use acds.voicemail for APN, select internet+mms for APN type, and save. This gives me 2-3Mbps speed, good enough to stream radio and it doesn't trigger data counter.
shhhhh!

Cannot get this to pick up a data signal any more info on what could be wrong any one else have this working?

Not sure why it's not working on others but it's working for me. You need to have visual voicemail activated with your LTE data plan. This apn is unlimited, meaning your data usage will always stay at 0. Data speed is between 2-3 Mbps. Btw if you're in an LTE area sometimes this apn won't work. Everytime I go to NYC or sometimes at Queens, my data is on/off with this apn, no big deal coz I just use the 'pta' APN.

Same as mine. Works great

I don't use visual voice mail, is it necessary that I do to make this work? If so, how does one "activate" it? Do I have to make a phone call to ATT or is it something I can do on my phone? Also, do you disable packet data before you switch the APN to the voicemail one and then reenable it? Of course all of this might not matter, I do live in San Francisco/LTE area...still willing to give it a shot though
Man they are gonna notice this thread and by tomorrow the apn will not work. Please remove this thread to avoid the few of us who have found that this works from getting disconnected just like the rest of the apn fixes.
We are spied on by At&t workers constantly so they are always a step behind us but catch up quick...

Open AT&T visual voicemail app and let it setup your vvm. Once everything is done, create this apn and save. This apn only works if you're using the AT&T visual voicemail app. Like what other have said, this apn sometimes don't work if you're in an LTE area. My friend just bought a Galaxy Note and he's using this apn with no problem.
Is visual voicemail a feature that I need to add to my monthly plan? Free or $$$? I opened up the app and it says I need to dial voice mail to set it up, all I get when I go to voicemail is it prompts me for my password and then goes to the normal mailbox options

No, visual voicemail is free. It is included with your LTE data plan. When you open the app it will dial your voicemail and ask you for your password. Once you enter your password, either end call or press *. After that it will go back to the visual voicemail app again.

Not getting mms text messages

I have an unlocked nexus one for t mobile and k haven't been able to get mom's messages ever since I unlocked it can anyone help me with this problem?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
You have to have correct mms setting to receive and send those messages. You can get your settings from your carrier.
Settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> GSM/UMTS Options -> Access point names -> press menu -> New APN
These are the fields I had to set:
Name
APN
MMSC
MMS proxy
MCC
MNC
Authentication type
APN type
I used android 2.2 for this instruction so there may be slight differences.
Had the same problem with optus here in oz, rang them got the mms settings now alls good

Try clearing the data through settings, manage apps.

The APN settings are found under Settings-> Wireless and Networks-> Mobile Network-> Access Point Names, or the equivalent on your phone's ROM. You can edit or create the settings from there.

ok so you have flashed the same radio that was with the rom im guessing thats the one it should be the thing to check does the wifi work. this dosnt require any network settings to be correct so you should be able to detect a connection even if you dont have one mayb your neibourhs do. alright if that dosn't work its the radio if it does its the network settings specific to your carrier settings. what your looking for is the apn settings for your carrier hopefully someone has posted them on the internet somewhere.
they'll look something like this:
Name TPG Mobile
APN internet
Proxy (blank)
Port (blank)
Username (blank)
Password (blank)
Server (blank)
MMSC (blank)
MMS Proxy (blank)
MMS Port (blank)
MMS Protocol (blank)
MCC 505
MNC 02
APN Type default
MMS settings
Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> Tap your phone's menu button -> New APN
And then fill in the fields as below:
Name Optus MMS
APN mms
Proxy 202.139.83.152
Port 8070
Username (blank)
Password (blank)
Server (blank)
MMSC http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/
MMS Proxy 61.88.190.10
MMS Port 8070
MMS Protocol WAP2.0
MCC 505
MNC 2
APN Type mms
these are of course mine and probably wont work for your carrier. if that dosn't work let me know

Q MMS messaging and straight talk apn

Has anyone been able to get MMS working with an att straight talk Sim . I have tried many variations of the settings I've used in the past with no luck
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Yes, this is what I have used:
Name: Straight Talk
APN: tfdata
Port: 80
MMSC:http://mms-tf.net
MMS 66.209.11.33
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default,supl,mms,hipri
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
This works but every now and then it will stop working.. a reboot of the phone and recconection to LTE fixes it every time, so I believe it has more to do with LTE connectivity, then the actual APN settings.
I am using the same APN for the most part but I have only been able to send pics through Hangouts. I tried Textra and GoSMS and neither will send. I used the same settings on my nexus 4 with straight talk and all mms apps worked.

When you say you have been able to send pics through hangouts, do you mean that you are able to send MMS through hangouts, or just a pic to another google user?
I sent pic as a text to my gf. Tried other apps first went back and set hangouts as default and it went through.

MMS has been working flawlessly for me with an LTE ST sim. I've just been using the APN settings on this page with new APN defaults for all the blanks not covered here: http://straighttalkbyop.com/program.php

So you can receive and sent MMS on the Nexus 5 with those settings without any problems?
Update: with the apn settings I posted, I am now getting uninterrupted lte service and mms send and receive are working flawlessly. My occasional interruptions before were probably due to slow wake up after I was running WiFi.

Name

APN
tfdata
Port

MMS Proxy
mms3.tracfone.com
MMS Port

This is true. I was in the same situation with everyone else. New Nexus 5 and new service with ST. Once I paid my next month, Pics came pouring in.

MMS won't send when APN for internet is active

When I have configured both APN for internet and APN for MMS then apps for sms/mms are not using APN for MMS and message won't be sent but if I delete this for internet and leave only this APN for MMS then everything works. I've tried to setup sending using manual configuration in the app but it doesn't help at all.
Do you have any ideas how to make it work or maybe there is some way to configure which app should use what APN.
My phone is using Android 5.0.2 with root.
