But im findig my battery isnt lasting hardly 1 day.
all my apps seem to load in the background on there own facebook, ebay, maps, music, a few others
i have sync accounts off i installed task killer which has helped a little

It is normal for the OS to load apps into memory like that. I usually get 12-15 hours with moderate usage (text, xda, tweetcaster, browser).

Background Data off?
3G/HSPA off?
Display Brightness > Half ?
You can freeze those app .
Or uninstall them .
Or flash a good costume rom .
But the best option is flash a good kernel So its control the work of cpu which is the main thing who use the battery .
Try make the brightness into the half or litter and turn off wifi when you don't use it .

Just changed my phone over from Gingerbread 21a to Gingerbread 21b. This seems like a massive improvement over 21a. Much less hassle with data connections dropping out and a really good difference in battery life. I know I can't root it yet but to be honest the phones so much better I'm not that bothered.
Happy for now, Pete

Can you post the link to the file? Adixtra's link doesn't work...
edit: you meant v20b or v21b?
Im really hoping someone finds a root for this soon. Ive tried everything i can find and no luck. Arent some of the roms here based on 21b, arent they rooted?
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
they can just pull /system from the phone still. That doesn't require root.
I'm using the stock 21b from adixtras post....I've had the phone 6 months and the battery is now better than it has EVER been! If you want better battery life AND better phone connections get 21b it's wicked!

There is a rom that comes rooted with v21b. I haven't tried it though.

Ive got rooted v21b. just a suggestion: If you try that rom above, install it on a rooted v21a based rom with CWM. Woala rooted v21b
But what is the battery life like on these 21a/21b hybrid roms? Some say rushdroid still has battery issues. I'm telling you straight the battery life on stock 21b is UNREAL. after 18 hours I've still got 40% charge left! I have not had to use a spare battery yet, that's amazing! I usually have to change batteries after 8-12 hours, but not now.

Actually I installed PowerMax + Fastreboot + SetCPU, and with moderate useage (all the time BT is on cuz of music listening) it lasts for ~27-30 hours incl. sleeping hours
In overall im pretty much satisfied with my current setup, but if you got an idea which would increase the performance (battery & system) its always welcome
Bertram
Over 36 hours from a single charge to 15% left "warning" with my usual amount of daily usage. I've never had better battery life from this phone. I have the display about 25% and "koi live wallpaper" running all the time. No app killers and no "battery saver" apps running. I do still get an occasional data "hang" and have to reboot but it is far less of a problem than it was on 21a. If you are getting a "your phone is on the latest software" message look at adixtras post in the android development section of this forum. He has the files, tools and info to load this onto your phone in the first post.

Acura rom V7.1 is based on mix between v21a/21b I used it for some time but now I am back to Thiaiz because with time Acura becomes to slow and it shows plenty of lags. Everythomg about acura you can see on acura thread.
Hey guys,
So I'm running the latest TrickDroid for T-Mobile One S, so far I love it... Except that I HATE Sense. And I hate the Sense apps that replace stock Google apps. Flashing gapps doesn't kill them.
So I installed Go SMS and I actually really like it alot. The problem is, ever since I installed it, my battery has been dying really quickly.
I uploaded a screenshot of the battery usage and it says screen, but I can tell you that's strange because the screen settings are no different than before?
Could it be this new app is keeping the screen awake without it really being awake or something? Im going to try freezing the Go SMS app and see if that changes anything.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
download an app like watchdog and use it to monitor apps that go over the cpu threshold, You can edit the threshold to suit you but i leave it as default.
My biggest battery consumer is the screen, But i still get close to 2 days
Amoled screens use a lot of power, thats the only disadvantage
Why don't you ask in the ROM thread? Or don't you like me? :O
I will release a new version soon anyway..
BTW, charge to 100% and make a reboot
Remove gosms and your battery should be back normal. I used gosms apps on my sg2 and it killed my battery

I need some suggestions for stable and user-friendly roms for Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 for a noob user.
Priority of roms is stability and user-friendliness.
Thanks a lot.
the most stable rom for sl are the latest stock roms.there are many stable stock roms but i use ddlf2 which is a stable rom .
dude you post in wrong place,i think the stable rom is based on LF2 like XWLF2 or DDLF2

I suggested you use RemICS-JB if you want to save battery. If you like performance, try using Paranoid Android, it's smooth but it's killing battery faster than RemICS-JB, that problem can be solved by using Revolution Kernel

Try to install CPU Spy and Watch Dog. CPU Spy use to see if your phone goes to deep sleep or not and Watch Dog to keep an eye on the apps inside your phone so no apps is misbehaving. And try to install Fast Reboot to kill the background app (even though you can do it on Watch Dog, its easiest this way. kill all apps and it make your phone looks like it just have restart)

Although automatic task killers should be avoided. Use apps to monitor your phone behavior, narrow down problems and solve them by yourself. Auto-killers are not reliable.
And btw, if you want something stable with good battery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1596145

CPU Spy is not a task manager or automatic task killer, it's designed to count how long your phone on deep sleep. Watch Dog is like a Task Manager, but instead killing all apps, it killed a misbehaved apps (using too many CPU), the Watch Dog give notification when misbehaved app is on and you will need to kill the app by your self (you can buy Watch Dog the pay version to get the black list feature)

Of course rooting for battery is a good idea. Undervolted & underclocked kernels, delete bloatware that's constantly running, etc. And as far as best battery life, baked has been very kind to my phone.
A typical day for me (7am on phone for 2-3 hours reading the news before work, music to/from work, light usage on breaks, then hotspot at home for internet, and all the calls/texts in between and countless downloads) will leave me with 20-30% battery when I go to bed around midnight

Smartass2/deadline 1000/100 mhz (only about an hour on 3g)
I was out today, and had screen at max brightness using gps for directions, playing solitaire and using 3g for FB, email ect... I only got 6 hrs battery with 3.5 hrs screen time.. I really didn't think that lowering the brightness helped that much, as I usually don't have it at full, but there is a huge difference.. Over 50% drop in battery life..
A simple rom with rich dark kernel
If u want the best battery from your phone consider trying Rasbeanjelly ROM with matr1x kernel. This ROM and kernel has always given me the best battery life though this ROM is not as highly customizable as aokp, paranoid android etc.

RC2 isn't that old (eaven if they pussed RC4 now), SO I'm guessing you dont have it installed for a long time, stay with it a couple of days and let the sistem calibrate the battery properly, after a fiew charging cicles it will be fine...if that doesent work try bb6 with marmite or helly 4.1.2 with Devil kernel updated
I've been frustrated with the battery, as I use this phone as my daily.. I recently bought a 3800 mah battery and get about 7 hours of screen time with moderate to heavy use.. I'm a bit more reassured now

Yea! Exactly that one.. But I don't notice it too much to be honest.. My thumb does most of my phone work.. And sometimes I used to be stuck phone-less, so for me the weight is a small price to pay

I too play Ingress, if you're getting about 5 hours of play time you're doing very good. Most people that I play with get 2 hours max as Ingress is a client heavy app. Remember that playing Ingress is like streaming a movie to your phone and running GPS. The data/Wi-Fi and GPS use a lot of power as they are always on with your screen. I have found that if I tether my phone to another device and just use Wi-Fi for data I get about another 30 min of play time, or if I just use the phone as a hot-spot I will get about 4 hours of play on my N7 with out recharging.
