[Q] Stable roms for Samsung Galaxy SL GT 19003 - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I need some suggestions for stable and user-friendly roms for Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 for a noob user.
Priority of roms is stability and user-friendliness.
Thanks a lot.

the most stable rom for sl are the latest stock roms.there are many stable stock roms but i use ddlf2 which is a stable rom .

dude you post in wrong place,i think the stable rom is based on LF2 like XWLF2 or DDLF2

Question threads do not belong in the dev forums. Moving to General.

I am using The Frankenstain^Mod....
Its very stable and too with good battery life...
And from next time remember that all questions have to be asked in the general thread !!

I suggested you use RemICS-JB if you want to save battery. If you like performance, try using Paranoid Android, it's smooth but it's killing battery faster than RemICS-JB, that problem can be solved by using Revolution Kernel

Do you know how long can the battery last with normal use using RemICS-JB + Revolution Kernel?

My experience was about 20 hours with 2.5 hours screen on with RemICS-JB. Refer attachment. Anyway I find JellyBam to be slightly better or somewhat same too.

Try using Jelly Bam the recommend version with Revolution Kernel, should give you about 1,5 day or 2 days (if lucky 3 days)

Try to install CPU Spy and Watch Dog. CPU Spy use to see if your phone goes to deep sleep or not and Watch Dog to keep an eye on the apps inside your phone so no apps is misbehaving. And try to install Fast Reboot to kill the background app (even though you can do it on Watch Dog, its easiest this way. kill all apps and it make your phone looks like it just have restart)

Although automatic task killers should be avoided. Use apps to monitor your phone behavior, narrow down problems and solve them by yourself. Auto-killers are not reliable.
And btw, if you want something stable with good battery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1596145

CPU Spy is not a task manager or automatic task killer, it's designed to count how long your phone on deep sleep. Watch Dog is like a Task Manager, but instead killing all apps, it killed a misbehaved apps (using too many CPU), the Watch Dog give notification when misbehaved app is on and you will need to kill the app by your self (you can buy Watch Dog the pay version to get the black list feature)

Hi.
I think that if you want so good batterylife as possible, it all depends on what ROM and kernel you are using together.
In my opinion Matr1x and GlaDOS 2.9 are probably the best, and you should try one of them, or why not try one for a week, then try the other and then deside.

No, just kidding, but it is with a c. I think you're totally right! I prefer Matr1x, but GlaDOS belongs to one of the best kernels as well!

I'm very surprised at this, given Pete's propensity to tweak the baked in kernel dramatically to improve both performance and battery life. I'm getting great results of both using his kernel.
Saying that, Steve Garon's plays very nicely with Pete's ROM. Either leave ondemand and deadline scheduler.
Matr1x is also very good. Same there, or use lazy for decent battery life.
As for what settings. It totally depends what you have going. If you got 25 different news widgets sucking data like there's no tomorrow, then yes, you;re going to see crappy battery life. Tell us what you;ve got going on and we'll try and help.
Well I just turned sync off most Google stuff aside from Gmail and twitter sync is off and other stuff I am not all sure what is and isn't off or on
I can almost sit back and watch my battery tick down ward
Is there like maybe an extended battery aside from the one in box can buy to assist n more juice

Of course rooting for battery is a good idea. Undervolted & underclocked kernels, delete bloatware that's constantly running, etc. And as far as best battery life, baked has been very kind to my phone.
A typical day for me (7am on phone for 2-3 hours reading the news before work, music to/from work, light usage on breaks, then hotspot at home for internet, and all the calls/texts in between and countless downloads) will leave me with 20-30% battery when I go to bed around midnight

Best kernel for saving battery on 7.0?

I am on cm 10.1 and the battery isn't much different from stock. Also, the tab gets hotter than it did on stock. Any kernel that keeps the device cool and saves battery? I am willing to change ROMs if its CM's fault, but the ROM you suggest should be waaay better to convince me to change ROMs.

not sure whether it's kernel or CM10.1's fault! But i don't like 4.2.x based roms just yet, they're just not stable enough for my liking.

If not go to processor clock settings and underclock it to say 800,600 or less.

Also you can try ketut kernel...
And about other Roms cm10.1 is best one after stock 4.1.2(debloated)
And device getting hot is normal.

Smartass2/deadline 1000/100 mhz (only about an hour on 3g)
I was out today, and had screen at max brightness using gps for directions, playing solitaire and using 3g for FB, email ect... I only got 6 hrs battery with 3.5 hrs screen time.. I really didn't think that lowering the brightness helped that much, as I usually don't have it at full, but there is a huge difference.. Over 50% drop in battery life..
A simple rom with rich dark kernel
If u want the best battery from your phone consider trying Rasbeanjelly ROM with matr1x kernel. This ROM and kernel has always given me the best battery life though this ROM is not as highly customizable as aokp, paranoid android etc.

RC2 isn't that old (eaven if they pussed RC4 now), SO I'm guessing you dont have it installed for a long time, stay with it a couple of days and let the sistem calibrate the battery properly, after a fiew charging cicles it will be fine...if that doesent work try bb6 with marmite or helly 4.1.2 with Devil kernel updated

I too play Ingress, if you're getting about 5 hours of play time you're doing very good. Most people that I play with get 2 hours max as Ingress is a client heavy app. Remember that playing Ingress is like streaming a movie to your phone and running GPS. The data/Wi-Fi and GPS use a lot of power as they are always on with your screen. I have found that if I tether my phone to another device and just use Wi-Fi for data I get about another 30 min of play time, or if I just use the phone as a hot-spot I will get about 4 hours of play on my N7 with out recharging.

Depends on your requirements for phone usage:
-Gingerbread rom = battery last mosts, lowest battery drain, not very stylish, used for watching movies or gaming for it's around 200MB free Ram and long phone usage with Wifi.
Rom i recommend: GingerSnap from neko95's blog site.
-IceCreamSandwich: this one has a little less battery life and free ram, but it has better UI, greater app compatibility, It's something between Gingerbread and JellyBean.
Rom i recommend: IcySnap again by neko95.
-JellyBean: if it weren't for the big battery drain - expecially when on Wifi, I would choose this. You definitely need sdext script for its low free internal storage, will experience some stress when you need to do something fast but your phone start lagging as hell suddenly. Oh, wifi teathering has still some issues. Definitely not for gaming. But I'd still go with this if it weren't for the big battery drain.
Rom i recommend: CM10.1.6, get it from my thread "Jenkins" or search for "jenkins armv6" on google.
If it's for your GF why not stick with stock rom?

Kitkat themed...why didn't you've said so in the beginning..
There is a Kitkat themed ROM based on latest stable JB, Link will be given in next edit.
Edit 1: All the ROMs for P500 have built-in kernel, you don't need to flash another kernel cos the build-in is probably the best for the ROM.

LOL, I just going to say the same rom as MW, the themed kit kat 4.2. It has a all the features (specially the bluethooth working), and has kit kat experience. But battery is not as draining as you said, yesterday I went all the night with 5%. The wifi is the only battery killer, but otherwise not too much. I use the one power guard to save battery and is the heaven.
Well the Kitkat is based off CM10 and yes, CM10 has the biggest battery drain.
You wanted Kitkat themed alike and noting comes close as that ROM, still no-one said it would be perfect
If I were you, I would just get ICS ROM and get some Kitkat theme for homelaucher and theme manager. Satisfy both battery and kitkat UI
