Every gadget owner loves their devices be it Cell Phones, Laptops, GPS, Gaming Consoles, etc. and would never want our devices to get scratchy, dirtily, peel off or loose their color and shine. For this some of us freaks keep cleaning out devices or cover them with cheap looking low quality plastic guard just to see it getting peeled off soon and getting all scratches just to buy another one in few weeks. This is because many of us are unaware of some of the finest Body Scratch Guards which themselves can never attain a scratch.

I can safely say Invisible shield is not a good solution. Generally anything that adheres to your device runs the risk that your finish will lift off if you ever decide to remove the shield.

i would still like to see some screenshots of bestskinsever for diamond as nothing is available anywhere.

want the best protector? Buy a psp HORI Protector, cut to size. 100% invisible and only a knife will scratch it. 2 for .99 on ebay

I'd also love to hear people experience with Best Skins Ever. I'm a sucker and always buy the zagg.com stuff, price = quality after all... but would be willing to grab a BSE skin based on peoples reviews, as the markup on zagg.com is ridiculous.
One thing, I dislike with the zagg.com skins is, after a while the protector appears as if it has a gasoline like stain in the middle of it, symmetrical to about half an inch away from the edge of the screen on all sides. So basically a mini rectangle on the inner portion of the display. Any else experience this? and does the BSE have this tendency?

I've been using Invisible shield by Zagg since I bought my Diamond and I completly agree with Lokosis. I also feel the corners are becoming a bit rough, it looks like someone can just pull it off.
* Doesn't fit into my HTC pouch anymore (see picture attached).
* Attracts a lot of dust.
* Don't need a bulky case anymore.
* Gives the back cover a shiny effect.

well yesterday i received my best skins for diamond. i must say delivery was really fast but a little disappointed. i'll tell you why later.

I bought a full cover from invisible shield about a week and a half ago but am still waiting for it to be shipped to me since I live in Australia and there is not stock here.
Didn't realize there was a cheaper alternate to it. I've got to say I'm a bit worried after just reading that post that says it can damage the screen when you remove it after a while...but hopefully I will never have to remove it

nothing to wory dude. even i first bought IS and den after an hour got to know about BSE so i ordered that too. i'd a talk with IS ppl and they say that when i receive the item, then i should take out the screen guard, put it in envelope and send it back to there address. thats it. they said they dont need the box of spray or anything. just the invisible shield in an envelope. and as soon as they receive it, they'll refund you the money. sending it back in envelope is much cheeper and you save alot. so order BSE now and wait for IS to arrive and send it back

I just got the screen one and not the whole case skin because I own an o2 Ignito which has a lovely-grippy-rubber-feeling-matt-black back cover, although it is not as sexy as the standard Diamond my wife has.
I was honestly quite disappointed because it is expensive and honestly looks crap compared to cheaper alternatives.
Have you ever tried Vikuiti by 3M guys?
I have it on my Orbit (it's a PSP screen protector, I opened the Orbit and cut the film on the proper size of the display, once re-assembled you can't see any edge at all) it's impossible to leave fingerprints and it is anti-reflection.
The Diamond one is gloss finishing instead, it costs € 8 on eBay (german seller but ships worldwide)

The invisible shield finally arrived. It wouldn't stick to my screen...lol
Well it stuck to the screen, just that the edges are supposed to bend and protect the sides too and no matter how long i held the edges in their positions for they would just unpeel themselves after a couple of minutes. Gave up on the screen, the rest all went on easily and without any visible bubble thingies. I'm not sure if I really care enough to get a new screen protector for the screen, I was more worried about the back of the phone to be honest
Still kinda dissapointed that the screen protector ended up failing for me

i really don understand where u guys fail. i understand that d edges don stick up but it takes half an hour effort to do it. its easy but takes times and u constantly hav to make it stick.
rest both BSE and IS are great. the point is to make it wet properly and den apply.
the only issue i had is that the IS solution went in my front camera screen and has made it blurred.
rest both are the same according to me.
also to be noted that you do not need to use IS spray. instead you can even put your IS in soapy solutions and apply it like BSE.
the aim is to 1st attch is properly on front screen. let it dry and then bend the edges.

I used enough of the solution, got it lined up perfectly with the phone. It was the edge bits that have to be bent to protect the sides where I went wrong. Just couldn't get them to stick and stay stuck properly for some reason

it takes alot of time for sure. for half an hour i kept trying and thought maybe the adhesive wasnt strong enough. but there are two things, 1st you have to use alot of spray to smoothly allign it on screen and then this excess spray avoids the sides to stick onn. so patience, repeated efforts and only when the solution dries up, that is when it starts to stick onn. very tough for sure but in the end it pays off.
BUT the diff bet IS and BSE is that BSE only covers the screen and does not cover the sides so there is no bending problem like IS.

In that case I think I might buy one of the BSE. I think that trying to protect the sides is simply too much effort and is tedious. Besides that, the sides are fairly scratch resistant and you can't even see those scratches if them do occur without having to look for them anyway. I really think IS should have skipped trying to protect them or made a second piece to go around the outside.

both are sam so betteer to opt for bse. am loving it.

BodyGuardz vs BestSkinsEver
Hello,
Here is my experience. I had a InvisibleSHIELD on my iPod Classic and it was great so I was considering buying one but after reading some of the the feed back it seemed that the product was good but the fit for our diamonds and even the iPhone (which i am now looking for) was not great.
I then heard about BestSkinsEver and because it was so cheap decided to go ahead and try it. I got it over 2 months ago and when I received it I applied it immediately. I have done a few of these so and since I am some what of a perfectionist I applied it to the best I could. It looked OK but after a few weeks the corners started peeling. Also due to the way the backing is placed it puts stress in areas which causes other areas to lift off (this is mostly on the corners). I ended up using a nail clipper to start clipping areas that were peeling off. After about 2 months it started to peal even more so I decided to go back to the reviews and see what was available. After doing some research I decided to go with the 12 piece BodyGuardz. It came in a set of 2 which is nice when i transfer the phone to my wife.
So all of this is to tell you that my first impressions of the BodyGuardz is well as good as I felt when I put the InvisibleSHIELD on my first iPod Classic. For me it did take a while (about 2-3 hours) to apply. This was not done in one sitting but instead because it was a 12 piece I applied each piece with 10 minute intervals allowing for tackiness to set in and so it would be easier to handle as I continued with the many pieces. First major thing I noticed and was really happy about was the BodyGuardz stickiness was considerably more than the BestSkinsEver. It stuck to the corners almost right away. Although throughout the process I did press down on the corners it was quite a bit easier as the BestSkinsEver did not have good stickiness. Also on a side note when i removed the BestSkinsEver it came of like a sticker which i know from my previous iPod is not normal and it usually takes a lot more effort to get it off carefully. Overall I am very happy at my first impressions of the BodyGuardz and the quality of the material seems to be better than the BestSkinsEver. Not to mention the 12 piece may seem like a lot of work but having individual pieces allows for no stress on the film in weird areas allowing it to sit flat with no parts lifting off (so far, i'll update in a month or two). Which is not the same case for the BestSkinsEver and from what I hear the InvisibleSHIELD. Newayz I hope this review helps someone.

I never sprayed the device only the shield itself. I would not recommend spraying the device. That said I do like the spray on the shield as it is a bit more even but you can use any spray bottle. I got one with Bodyguardz but there was not enough fluid in it so i had to fill it up with my own solution newayz.

As you can see that many of us use screen protector.
But I always think, how dose the screen protector work as it should be or just a piece of cover.

Yes it helps, against scratches. But i get a less good feeling with my fingers on the screen, so i have removed my protection.

Yep, kind off it helps in many ways. Like even if I get multiple scratches It wouldn't matter as I can get the screen guard changed. But If I didn't had it at ones that would cost me more.
Though now a days its trend for Gorilla Glass and vise versa!

I do not use it anymore. I had a cover for my Galaxy S2, and also a plastic 'sheet' to protect the front.
In my line of work I had quite some rough jobs wich resulted in hairy situations for the phone. Eventually I switched jobs last year, and these days I sit behind a desk. There is no use for the cover anymore. The front itself can withstand most of the daily stuff.
The cover for the back etc. might be handy if you drop your phone, but did you ever see those phone-drop-tests?
Bottomline: Obviously it's safer, but I don`t think people really need them.

Well, I bought my xperia x10 USED. Seller told me that it has BIG SCRATCH on the bottom of the screen (btw, xperias screen is scratch-resist), and I told him that he has to lower the price, so he lowered price for 20€ ..When I bought it, I found out that there is a screen protector on it..So, I removed it, and I have a brand new phone..without scratch on the bottom of the screen ofcourse ..
So, if you are a seller, remove it if there is any scratches or something else..If you are a buyer, try to screw up a seller

Changed several of them already and my screen still doesn't have scratche

I've been using them on my epic 4g that I have had for the last couple months. But before that I didn't use them on my lg optimus v or HTC Eris.

I use no screen protector but I had one. There are no scratches on my phone now and I can wipe better. You have to be carefully without a protector.

I use a protector for 2 reasons. Firstly, for peace of mind. Yes, it's Gorilla glass which means it's less likely to get scratched, but there's no glass in the world that is completely scratch-proof, so it makes sense to cover it for that extra protection. Secondly, I use a matte (anti-glare) protector. It's good for reducing reflections and helping read the screen in brighter light, but it also stops fingerprints and greasy smudge marks.
Each to their own, but if I've got a £500 phone then I see no point in *not* chucking a few more quid at a protector.

In my opinion, screen protectors can be very useful. There are different types of screen protectors, that offer different benefits to suit your needs.
The first kind of screen protector is a "clear" type, which is obviously clear, that offers scratch protection. The drawback of this type of protection is, because of the clear, craystal like finish, it creates a glare like effect, making it difficult to see the screen in direct sunlight, or brightly lit rooms.
The next type of screen protector (my favorite) is an "anti-glare", which has a matte finish. This type of screen protector not only prevents scratching, but it also cuts out the glare, does a great job of hiding fingerprints and smudges. It also provides a better feel when touching the screen, removing that "sticky" feeling when sliding your finger across the screen. The downside to this type of screen protector is that it slightly takes away from the sharpness or detail of the display. (only slightly though). A fair trade off, in my opinion.
The third type of screen protector is know as a "mirror" type. This protector has a mirror finish, which actually looks like a mirror. This type offers scratch protection, and because of it's mirror finish, also provides a level of privacy, making it difficult for other people to see what's on your screen. The downside to this type of protector is, because of the mirror finish, it makes it extremely difficult to see the screen under any lighting conditions. It also doesn't hide scratches very well.

i had a screen protector but i took it off, i didnt like it, it just didnt feel good, so i bought a phone bag. i only take my phone out of the bag when im really using it. no scratches so far. id reccomend a phone back and no protetor, but its everyones personal opinion how to use phone

It depends... If you have your phone in the same pocket as your keys it's usefull to have one. When you have your phone in an case it's not that usefull.

I like screen protectors but my hands and fingers are so dam rough it scratches the screen protector up, so I go threw screen protector a couple weeks, the protector would just get so scratch up

If you are rough on your phone, then yes; else no.
I've never used one and don't have notible scratches, but then again, I'm always very aware of how I'm handling my phone, and when I carry it around, I'll keep it in its pouch.

With Gorilla Glass 2 on the Infinity, what is your opinion on placing a screen protector on this device? And if 'Yes,' which one?
I have one on my phone and it has been great, but does a tablet like this warrant a screen protector.
For myself, I plan on having the device in a rooCase when it becomes available.

I had a protector on my NexusOne that has Gorilla V1.
Dumbest idea ever!
I removed it about a year ago. It fell down so many times, no scratches.
Screen is like when I bought it.
I don't think you need a protector with Gorilla anymore.

if you take it on the go a lot - screen protect it
if you have kids - screen protect it
if you like to set it up and down on stands - screen protect it
if you dont have a leather case - screen protect it.
if you just like the awsome smooth feeling of the glass, then leave it naked and touch it all you want

Screen Protectors usually make for a tight fit with docks. You may have to do a little trimming around the docking points depending on the protector you choose.

When I carry it arround the house, I don't need a protector, Gorilla Glass doesn't seem to get scratches easily (nor does the back of my Infinity, despite what some said).
For going out I either take the dock which encloses the screen within the whole thing or I take TranSleeve (originally meant for the Prime), which is helpful for typing or watching media (two standing positions). I don't see a point of having this kind of sleeve for both (although this seems nice: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28593251&postcount=19), although I have bought the cheapest (~$3) neoprene etui/sleeve for 10" netbooks available (somehow they tend to be cheaper than the same products for 10" tablets): http://vegacom.eu/data/gfx/pictures/large/6/6/9566_7.jpg?337768
This is more for suddently-dropping-the-bag-on-the-floor kind of situation than to avoid scratches, but I feel better with these precautions (I also carry a few books in the backpack quite often, so it seems safer to have some kind of cover).

Are we talking screen protectors or cases here? I'm thinking I'm going to grab a slip case for the tablet/dock to just slip it in something light.

I was answering the question if one should protect the screen with gorilla glass, but ok, good point. I would never use something that would blur the image on the Infinity, but I can understand somebody would want to do it to be able to use the tablet in direct sunlight. But to avoid scratches? Hell no!

You can some brutal things to gorilla glass without scratching it. Most people don't need a screen protector. The huge elephant in the room is dust, which might surprise some folks who don't have to live with much of it. If you live in an especially dusty region, you should seriously consider protecting even a GG2 screen. The glass has not been invented that won't scratch if the right piece of dust gets dragged across it just so. Hammering a nail with an HTC one x is impressive (reference to a youtube vid I saw once), but not the most practical test. Some dust particles are harder than nails, I assure you.

Definitely +1 concerning the dust, but concerning the damage reduction potential of Gorilla Glass: when I got my LG Optimus 2x about one and a half years ago, I rubbed the tip of a knife on the screen (Gorilla Glass v1) to and fro in a ballsy whim during a dinner with friends. Turns out it was a bad idea: although I have since upgraded to the SGS2 and the LG is now carried around by my wife, it still bears a nice mark (scratch).
Although, with a probability close to certainty, a normal screen would've been utterly destroyed (I wasn't exactly gentle), the potential for damage is still there and it doesn't even take visceral violence. It is chemically hardened glass, it can take a beating but it is only an extra line of defense.
For the sake of on-topic conversation: I have never used a screen protector on any device I own. I take good care of them and mostly use them eitehr indoors or in a shaded area (inside the train, for example). If you'd need outdoor visibility, consider it. If you have the dock, think about a good sleeve or case (I have bought an relatively cheap leather one on eBay and, although it does add significant bulk, it does a commendable job as far as protection goes).

Dust? Really? Have you seen the Gorilla Glass 2 vendor video? They threw everything at it but the kitchen sink. If dust was ever to be their demise, Gorilla would lose ALL credibility with their product. I'm hardly worried.

When I got mine I found it was almost impossible to use out on the pattio without the anti-glare film.
The glass is simply a perfect reflector giving very crisp and detailed images of everything around and abowe you overshadowing the data on the screen.
The same issue faces almost all tabs and phones though.
The anti-glare screen does do odd things to the pixels due to the high density, but overall it works.

GG is tough and great, but you underestimate the power of dust.

+1 for an Anti-glare protector. Not for it's "protection" qualities, but for it's anti-glare qualities... I just got my TF700 and the screen is beautiful, but very reflective... Plus the anti-glares help reduce finger prints significantly. Just get a good one - you usually get what you pay for when it comes to anti-glare protectors.
However, I do worry that it may interfere with the screen quality too much on the TF700 though (they usually create some level of "pixelation" effect which may ruin the TF700 "experience" - not sure as I don't have one yet!

I refer to the effect of anti-glares as the rainbow effect. It acts a little like a prism per pixel, especially noticeable on white screens as you'd expect. Some people just see it as noise. Some don't see it.
I'm undecided about whether or not its worth it. It always has been before (bonus: fewer prints), but I've never had a screen this beautiful before either, and I'm not sure I want to obscure it.

My argument is pretty simple: the Infinity is so pretty I would never want to blemish it with any permanent type of screen protector. And it gets so hot in direct sunlight during summer here anyway that I prefer to stay indoors with it ;>

The screen have too much resistance it grabs the finger.
It's not as smooth to touch on ipad screen, didn't anyone noticed it?

Which will be the best screen protector? Which is the best based off your past experiences?
I am in the UK and willing to order from the US but I'm not sure which is the best. I still need to sell my unused XO from my Galaxy Nexus

UK here too. I've tried Zagg, Skinomi and BSE in the past. BSE are undoubtedly the best of those 3

I'm having trouble deciding on a screen protector as well, but I've always gotten the InvisibleSHIELD. I mostly do so because I can buy the full body skin (or any of the kits they sell), then take it to the mall and they'll apply it all free of charge. If they screw up (they never do), then they'll give me a brand new one. If it gets all scratched up, gets a bubble, or ANYTHING, I just take it to the mall (without a receipt or box or anything) and they'll replace it all totally free. If I screw up applying other protectors, I don't want to have to ship it back and wait for a new one. While others do sometimes have kiosks (from what I've heard), I have yet to actually see one. I've never minded the whole orange peel thing personally, so it doesn't really affect my decision by much. I just love their warranty in combination with the kiosks. It makes it very easy.
Another thing I'm worried about is this: If I get the full body kit, can I still use a case, or will the friction of putting the case on be enough to screw it up? Has anyone had this issue? Should I just get a front and back kit instead? I plan on using case with the phone to protect from drops and what not, I usually just get a Speck Candy Shell or something, although I'm a huge fan of the LifeProof cases since they look good and offer great protection (either or not they'll make a Nexus 4 case is a different story, I suppose).

They are all very similar. I usually go with Skinomi because of the price. I already pre-ordered it off Amazon.

sgp steinheil is the best it feels smooth like its not there but is extremly hard my nexus s has deep scratches on the screen protector that havent even touched the glass

The best screen protector... is you! Don't slide your phone across the table, don't drop it, and don't put it in your pocket with potentially "dangerous" things (pens, keys, etc.), and all should be ok
I'm not a big fan of screen protectors; I like to have full touch control with my screen, and would rather not worry about what was the cause of my screen not registering that input (was it the screen protector, or just the phone itself?).

Well I don't know what kind of screen protectors you've been using but the ones I've used don't have any effect on the sensitivity of the touchscreen. I am careful with my stuff anyway but the small hairline scratches really annoy/bother me for some reason.

Protection is absolutely necessary for me since I work in construction/maintenance

Your question is the best for the N4. But nobody has any of these screen protectors made for the N4, and only a couple really lucky people have the phone. None of the opinions in your poll are actually based on experience with this device and this protector. Wait until people start getting them and then look at reviews.

I'm going with BSE because I've heard a lot of good things about them. Plus I like the wet apply idea. I've ALWAYS had problems with the sticky dry screen protectors. One little piece of fuzz or dust and you have annoying bubbles every where. And over time bits of fuzz/lint get up around the corners and it slowly starts to peel off.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter what you do. Before you know it you'll be in direct sunlight and you'll see all sorts of small little scratches. Then later, you'll always know they're there. I'm OCD about it. I can't stand having the tiny little scratches because I want my phone to stay new. I think the first time you put a phone in your pocket, it gets some sort of tiny little scratch from something.. then over time they build up and make the screen look aweful. Plus its funny you say pens and keys because those things wont scratch gorilla glass. I've tired a key on my old Atrix and nothing comes from it. It's actually particles of dust that have maybe glass or something else hard, or sand.

I want a dry applied one and really wanna know if a dry one can cover the entire screen of Nexus 4.......

XO Skins are the ones I have been using for a few years now. From what I have read xo and sgp are the only ones without orange peel. I don't know how the sgp do on curves though I posted a review of xo in my signature when I had the samsung google nexus

Exactly, all these videos of people dropping coins/keys on the phone are pointless. swipe over that phone just once with sand paper and its all over...

Just picked up myself a 32gb version off amazon for 464 total and will be recieving monday(stupid best buy didnt have it in stock(the closest store that had it was in texas!!(im in tucson)))
but my question is, should i get a case and\or screen protector
i picked and felt around the display one in the best buy near my dorm and loved it so i bought one but i will probably be taking it with me too classes and work and stuff so i may need a case and gaurd
what do you think?? what are you reccomendations,
if i was to get a case, i dont really want a tri-fold one, and i would want it to be soft on the inside and (fake) leather on the outside
in terms of screen protectors...it shjould probably be scratch filling because i will have the tablet for a few days with normal use before finally receiving it
but im open to suggestions, any ideas?

1. is it flexible
2. is there a high chance of it breaking during shipping
3. is it difficult to put on
4. is it difficult to take off?(like how other, non-tempered ones peel away)
5. if i were to drop the tablet, would i shatter the screen protector?
6. how much did yours cost?(was\is it on sale?)
7. what are the downsides to using this screen protector?

1) Yes, you can bend it a few degrees, I didn't want to bend it more.
2) The glass comes in a hard plastic case, so I would say no.
3) You have to ensure that your screen is clean (for best results turn on the shower hot until you have steam, turn it off and wait a few minutes, this will take the dust corns down. Clean the screen and apply the protector in the steamed bathroom), and I recommend to put some sticky film on the sides so you can hold the panel without touching it.
Once the protector is aligned perfectly, apply pressure and you will see that it applies itself. Don't fear bubbles, they will go away within minutes if you apply pressure and gently "massage" it.
4) I once removed a tempered glass protector from a nexus 5 (not mine though), you have to take it off on one corner which can be kind of difficult, but once you can lift it off, it won't leave any residue.
5) Probably, never had to try that.
6) Mine cost about 10€ (~12,50$), amazon showed it as sale, but most probably it always has this price.
7) With SOME styluses you may have an decreased sensibility, but my metal mash stylus works fine.

The shower technique should be especially helpful, I've never heard that one before(good thing my dorm has extra hot showers)

Oh yes, english is not my mother tongue, so I forgot the vocab.
I think amazon gives you one or two years warranty, but I'm not sure about the situation in the US.

Get a case or a screen protector. Getting both is kinda redundant.
Get screen protector if you want to keep the look of your tablet. You might also consider getting a skin for the backside to prevent the back from getting scratched.
Get a case if you want both screen protection and some drop protection and you don't mind the slight bulkiness of the case.
