Rom with working gps (for those whose gps was previously broken) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

The title says it all.
Any suggestions for Rom with working gps (for those whose gps was PREVIOUSLY BROKEN)?
(and now working well with the new rom you recently installed.)
Thanks.

Thanks. I will give it a try soon!

Make sure you try the stock trick. I flashed a Rom once that borked my GPS. The solution is to flash back to stock. Reroot and flash a new Rom. Every Rom since has worked great, it was just one bad one.
I too use jellywiz with working gps

Do you mind pointing me back to the link of a stock rom or the thread of it? Thanks!

Is any stock good? Even jelly bean stock by Scott? Or should not be ics stock? Thanks in advance!

Sorry keep asking. After flashing back to stock, should I start dirty flashing when flashing to other rooms or clean is fine?

Navigate to my guide in the dev section...follow section 5! FULL WIPE is recomended.

oddly enough, I am only able to get a satellite fix by unchecking "Wi-Fi & mobile network location" and only using the GPS satellites.
Have you tried that?

Seanszcreams' newest sky ics no flash/Java

I used to be on NexusMod GB 2.3.6 and i could watch flash videos fine on the browser.
Just today i flashed sean's new sky ics ROM and all flash videos are replaced by the blue Lego-looking thing identifying no flash support.
Anyone else using his ROM having this problem?

depending of the browser you are using you need to active the option in settings. If you use chrome Flash is not supported :-(
Make sure adobe flashplayer is installed

I usually use dolphin browser and it still didn't work after I checked that flash was on.
Then I went to the stock browser, still no flash.

+1 (or 2) to making sure flash is installed. Whenever I flash it shows up as an update in the store. Happens even if I run a batch restore from TiBu.
That fixed the issue, thanks a bunch guys! however, I just discovered another problem I have with the ROM and that is having no data >_>.
Just great.

Access Point Names - Tells your phone how to access data.
You really have to read Sean's post carefully to install the rom correctly. ...It's all there, so you might want to read up.
I'm a noob too but it's like you're following a recipe to bake a cake but didn't read the part about putting it into the oven. Then you question why the cake isn't cooked.

The way you related flashing a ROM to baking a cake. Genius. Absolutely genius.
Alright will do, and I'll let you know how the cake turns out.
Just follow the directions to letter, and you have no problems.
Update:
Both the flash video and the data problem are both fixed, thanks a bunch you guys.

GPS config Inspire with ICS

I have an Inspire and I've been using the Blackout ICS Rom and my only problem is with GPS taking forever to lock...I am using GPS status to reset and download assist data but I'm still getting a lock on any satellites, I'm using the most recent AT&T radio... Should I be using a different radio? or do I need to do something else?

I have luck by toggling mobile data off and then back on. I use GPS test by chartcross. Usually it will start by weather widget not getting location. I then open GPS test and it won't lock. After toggling mobile network off and then back on it locks and then weather widget gets location again. They are working on a fix for these issues.

I knew it sounded like it was on the right track but I figured that the Mods for the Inspire that are out there for ICS are only for AOSP/AOKP not the new Sense ROMs that people are actually using as daily drivers now that everything pretty much works

Best way to update??

Okay, I read on here every day on my cell and can't find the answer to my question. I, like alot of people have a stock, rooted, unlocked phone and want to update to the latest OTA. I would like to, if possible, do this without Odin.
I was wondering if they're was a file like Scott's stock Rom that could be dirty flashed over stock without any problems? If there is no other way, I plan on using Odin to get back to stock after I relock the bootloader, take the update, and then reroot, unlock, etc.
The big reason that I would rather do it without the computer is that I am on the road 90% of the time and don't have access to a computer. I depend on my phone for GPS as well as entertainment, so being without my phone isn't an option for me. Are there any options?

I am the same way and would like to do it without going completely back to locked/un-rooted/stock. I was able to find a ROM that Scott just updated with the new VRALG7 from verizon here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892670
This will apparently update your phone to the new baseband and leave you stock/rooted.
Hope this helps!
Yeah I read that, but there are some bugs. I wonder if anyone has tried a dirty flash?

Did you just wipe cache and dalvik cache or do a full wipe?
What I ended up doing was a full wipe and flashed CleanROM 2.5, which is based on the new VRLG7 updates. Then I flashed the new VRLG7 radio form here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-of...zon-sgs3-sch-i535-odin-or-recovery-flashable/
Titanium backup took care of restoring all of my apps and settings.
I am curious about this as well. I sent him a PM and will let you know if he replies.

You just want to make sure you don't accidentally lock your bootloader and reboot since you will get the Verizon unauthorized software message which is also fixable but..

Okay, I purchased mobile Odin pro, what is the way that I need to do it? I have not seen a guide for that application. Also, will I lose everything on the phone and have to restore everything if I do it this way?
EDIT: I think I can probably wing mobile Odin, I can't find the new image file to flash. Does anyone know where to find it? I looked on Samsung updates . Com and couldn't find it.

Can I ask why you guys want the update anyway? I'm also on stock/rooted/unlocked and all I did was freeze the apps called 'sdm' and 'fwupgrade' and there's no chance for it to update to the OTA. I hear all it has is dumbed down search and a Verizon remote-help sort of thing.
It blocks a security issue and is different framework from what I understand. I would lock the bootloader, unroot, OTA, and then redo everything but will not be around a computer until tomorrow at the best.

After reading the posts on Scott's CleanROM 2.5, that's what I am going to do this weekend. I will feel a lot better knowing I received the most up-to-date software from Samsung as the framework and then customize my phone the way I want. Plus, that's what a lot of the more experienced posters have been recommending, and for a noob like me, it would be dumb for me to not take their advice.
Thanks for getting back to me about the cache wiping question!
No worries, good luck!

CM10 4G issues

Why do I have so many issues with CM10 and 4g just dropping. All at once ill reboot and it tells me it cannot activate and I have to reboot again. Is there a fix to this? I am running Clean Rom 5.0 now and its working perfectly. For some reason the CM10 roms give me problems. THanks

What radio are you using? I experienced shoddy reception on the later radios on AOSP myself (K1, J1). G7 and F2 generally worked fine on any rom for me.

Question on using the OTA update in Beans

Hey all,
Tried to post this in the beans thread but I apparently do not have enough posts, I usually lurk rather than post so I guess I'll have to change that.
I've been an avid flasher for a while and made the switch to beans with build 13, about a week before build 14 came out. I usually do a full wipe when installing a ROM, but it's a bit of a pain setting up various authenticators again.
I'm pretty sure if I OTA to build 15 that I won't have to set up everything again, but I'm worried that dirty flashing that way will cause issues.
Does anyone have any advice? I pretty much use this as my primary phone and don't want to put it out of commission by doing anything wrong.
Thanks.

I always clean flash, because beans says so in the op.

Back up your apps and sms messages and do a dirty flash. If you have any problems do a clean install. A dirty flash wont brick your phone.

Devs usually recommend a full wipe and flash. Having the OTA notification is a way to inform you there's a new build out.

Ah, that makes sense.
So anyway, I use Titanium Backup but despite following directions online, I always have to redo my authenticators, right now everything I'm using works off of the Google Authenticator app.
Is there a way for me to keep all the authentication information on the phone between flashes? Last time I went from CleanROM to Beans, it didn't work so well.
