I just downloaded the joystick center app for my Xoom to play games that don't have native gamepad support. I got it working and setup and love the concept, but I have no analog sensitivity over my analog sticks. Its like when it registers the signal, its all or nothing. Just hard to be precise and aim slow on shooters.
Just wondering if I could catch someone on here that may have some experience with this app on their Xoom and maybe a way to configure analog sensitivity or analog control.
Thanks

I don't know about this program, but I used Six Axis app and a PS3 controller. On games with no advertised gamepad support, I assumed there'd be no way to have analog input sensitivity. I was right about this - the sticks just worked as buttons.
This happens in PC games too.

Hi,
I installed n64oid on my TF, and connected a PS3 sixaxis controller via BT, everything seems good, I can map the controls in the emulator app, but when I launch a game i got the message "n64oid is running in background" in the notiication bar, and i can't control the game with the gamepad.
If i map the controller buttons to letters like a, b, c etc... and i play with :the dock keyboard it works. I think it is somehow really in the background, and the browsing/loading roms part of the emulator keeps the focus, because if i quit the game and go back to this screen I can see the letters on the screen corresponding to the buttons i pressed while testing...
I tried nesoid too, same problem...
Have any of you already experiences this problem ?
Thanks !
Edit: just tried with a wired xbox 360 controller, it works, so it's just with this sixaxis controller app...
just connect the ps3 controller via usb and it should work fine
2 things I always forget to check; 1- did you change the input method from your keyboard to sixaxis controller using the big button in the sixaxis app? 2- did you go into Other settings in n64oid app and enable input method?

Oh I did not see that ! Thanks a lot it works great now
I still am having no luck with my ps3 controller and n64oid. I am working with a Toshiba Thrive, I have them paired, but n64oid seems completely unaware of a bluetooth controller. I have the thrive set to Sixaxis input and n64oid set to "Use Input Method" on. Is there anything I am missing?
Hey guys quick question what's better for games like super Mario xbox controller or ps3?
I love playing Mario on PC emu and getting tf next week hoping to make the experience even better hate keyboard controls

Truthfully I would say there is little difference. It comes down to whether you prefer a wired or wireless controller. Either way you go with the Xbox 360 controller youre going to have a wire coming out of your docks usb port (have to use PC Wireless 360 adapter)
I have played mario with both and loved it both ways. The only other thing I will mention is that with the Xbox 360 controller you cant program the right joystick, but with the Sixaxis Controller app and a Sixaxis you can program both sticks to work independently. That comes in very handy if you decide to play and first person shooters in n64oid.
sixaxis over 360 control
I really like the dpad on the sixaxis more for classic games due to clearly defined up/down/right/left rather than the large disk with nubs... just my preference though I might just be too picky.
So with the extra stick on the six axis control does it make say golden eye way easier to play ?
I have a xbox 360 but don't have a ps3 so is wether its worth the extra cost really

So I got a Blue PS3 Controller today and im trying to set it up to have the Cbuttons on the RIGHT analog stick, The Left as the main analog and the d-pad as the d-pad.
Im using n64oid 1.1.4 because that is the highest one that works with CM7 Nightly build 253.
And using the six axis app(forgot what it is fully called)

I figuered out that I had to set the Hardware keys on the main Nook settings first(mapping each ps3 button to a letter or number) then going into the n64oid settings and go to hardware keys and setting them there.

Anybody able to successfully get all the key mapping correctly to play with Shadowgun? The game is fun, but would be GREAT if I could use my PS3 controller.
I got up, down, left, right, fire and reload to get mapped...but I need camera tilt to work properly when I am walking, having to use the screen to move around the camera kinda defeats the purpose of it.
I am posting this in 2 places, I wasn't really sure which would be best...but MODS feel free to remove/merge the one that doesn't need to be used. I just want to know if anyone was able to get this working properly
What a game this is, im playing on the tablet, havnt got a dock, doesnt answer ur question sorry, but awesome game

I'm running the latest Revolver ROM and both analogs worked out of the box.
Remapped as follows:
R1 = Trigger/Action
Triangle = Reload
Up = Weapon 1
Left = Weapon 2
Right = Weapon 3
Down = Weapon 4
I have to say that I'm pretty blown away by the game. Screen controls are pretty good, game play is fun and the graphics are just amazing.
With the sixaxis app or plugged in via USB on the dock?

Plugged in via USB.
Never used the sixaxis app unfortunately
I got everything working and all keys mapped, sorry for the video quality but I was only using one hand. I didn't have my tripod.

I have it all working on mine - I have a guide at my blog on how to do it all. It's awesome with HDMI out.
Its working perfectly on my transformer/dock with a sixaxis official PS3 controller plugged in via USB.
You guys think there's a way to use the keyboard dock to control games like Shadowgun and maybe others? Would be really great!
Another question: Are only PS3 controllers supported or are Xbox 360 controllers working as well?
Nevermind that question, found the answer already.

Yes I use the dock to control Shadowgun..
default keys are:
Arrows: movement
I,J,K,L: look and aim
8: shoot (I don't rememeber well)
but using keyboard it's not so comfortable..maybe you could use a joypad..
7-Reload
D-Pad Center-Fire
D-Pad Up, Left, Down, Right-Analog 1
A-Shotgun
D-SMG
I-Analog 2 Up
J-Analog 2 Left
K-Analog 2 Down
L-Analog 2 Right
S-Rocket Launcher
W-Grenade Launcher
Back-Pause Game
Those are all the keys for those of you using a keyboard

you just plug it in and it work? i cannot get it to work. my controller just blinks and turns on my ps3. i need help
Unplug your ps3 or switch it off on the back. Once that is done, plug in your controller and press the home button, after that you can map the buttons within the game.
Yesterday i have added a new tab dedicated to the multitouch gamepad in Droidmote Server / Client. (remote control tablet with your phone)
i have tested Shadowgun and it work superlative. in a day i publish a video to show how it works.
Arrows: movement
I,J,K,L: look and aim
8: shoot
for aassign I,J,K,L,8 to your button open generic.kl and remap the buttons keys to this letters.

I am new to sixaxis and I've got it paired correctly and the controller is working. I just don't understand how to get the controls to do what I want them too. I'm currently trying to play dead trigger and with out changing anything it let's me shoot, move forwards backward and side to side but I can't rotate with analog, and reload. I went into preferences and enabled game pad and that allows me to rotate and move around like i should but it doesn't let me shoot, reload, or zoom aim. If anyone understands sixaxis better than I do is willing to enlighten me big thanks to yuh.

Hey does anyone know how to change weapons and how to make a drive-by at GTA vice city with a ps3 controller???
Works great!
I am using sixaxis controller on a Nexus 7. I enabled the native gamepad checkbox in the settings and all the buttons work great. When driving I can use L2 or R2 for drive by. And I think R1 switches my weapon. It seems to work just like it would on a real play station.
Where is native gamepad check box??

What do you use for aiming? I find it very difficult to lock on or flick through selected targets. Only option seems to be to touch the screen which is a pain during a mission.
I use logitech f710 it doesnt work too

Ps3 controller and six axis controller app. Turn off native game pad in preferences to avoid problems. Take a screen shot in gta showing onscreen buttons. Load that screen shot in six axis app under Touch emulation. Map buttons to your liking. Working flawlessly here.

Something must be different with my version of GTA and Sixaxis because all of the buttons work for me without any issues. Its just like I am playing the game at home on my PS2 except for the fact it's wireless :silly: I have the Enable Gamepad checkbox checked and that's it. Make sure you are using the latest version of Sixaxis.

Seems like I jumped the gun then. I think since I didn't see an option in GTA to setup a controller that I just assumed it wasn't supported. It's actually pretty quick to take a screenshot and map out touch control emulation so I did it right away without trying GTAs native support. I'll try it later on and see how it works/compares.

Yeah, so much better. You don't need to see the touch controls, and it maps exactly to the ps2 controls.
The lack of a controller configuration is weird, but rockstar did the same with GTA3 and max payne

Hello, sorry if this seems a bit daft, but can the controls only be changed if rooted?
Basically, I bought a cheap wired controller to use for Vice City, as plugging my Sixaxis controller in via USB drained the battery too much.
My Nexus isn't rooted.
Is there anyway I can amend the buttons, as the wired controller does not correspond to the original buttons? Some buttons don't even have a function.
Cheers.
Anyone?
But the buttons change in-game when you get in a car and out a car.. That means you have to make 2 profiles?
I really don't get it.. Gamepad is enabled here too but the keys are different to the PS controls. I really want to change them like PS2/PS3.
Someone knows how or got a profile I can download?

Hello people... I have native gamepad running. Works good. Please give me a list of Controller mapping from orginal ps2 game. And I make a List of Button remaping for native gamepad. I use sixaxis app for a long long time. Edit: dr Google helps me. Found a list of the keys. Make this after sleep ready for all. I am in germany and its late here.

hey thanks man, that would be nice if you could make a couple that fits the PS2/PS3. I'll check it here over a few days
hello to all people, here is the solution to have orginal ps2 buttons config on android gta vc. self tested and work. here is the tutorial.
1. open sixaxis app and disable touch profiles (set it to none)
2. now open the preferences and go to gamepad settings(2nd entry) and enable native gamepad support.
3. next step we go button remapping in gamepad options menu and edit all buttons as in this list.
Search for the key you want to edit (triangle...) and set it to what i say in the pop up what appears.
Triangle = Y
Circle = B
Square = X
Cross = A
L3 = R3
R3 = L3
Now go back, start GTA VC and enjoy. The buttons for run, shoot and jump works right to ps2 version. the L/R3 exchange is because the sirene and car missions(Police,Fire...) changed.
Backup/Restore
To use gamepad in other games and that make problems you must set back the buttons to orginal. use the same tut but the orginal key
mapping and all will work normal.
Orginal Android Key mapping:
Triangle = B
Circle = Y
Square = A
Cross = X
L3 = L3
R3 = R3
Please give a little bit push of my thanks button.
Tut can be link or else to post one.
p.s. Does anybody need a Button Overview for this game? like... on foot: Cross = Run
on car: Cross = Accelerate
Thank you but what about Fifa 14. This games doesn't support gamepad and setting up a map can't because you have 2 images in game.
Buttons change when opponents or you got the ball?
What about this?
I use the DS3 controller via latest Sixaxis controller app (gamepad mode) but in GTAVC, the virtual touch controls keep poping up every once in a while?! :-/
Anyone has similar problem??
On a Tab S - stock rooted deodexed lolipop 5.0.2
Just tried The Conduit HD for Xperia Play. I found that it's partially Optimized. Could we expect a complete optimization when it'll come out? Who knows...
Video:
youtube.com/watch?v=NOFLP6Qo1hg
Hate to be a downer, but it's only working because the Xperia Play shares some of the same button bindings as bluetooth controllers, not because of any kind of optimization, partial or otherwise. Maybe in 6 months when it's no longer Tegra 3 exclusive they may do that, but our phones are old enough as it is.
Now what would be nice is if someone developed an app that allows the Plays touchpads to emulate bluetooth controller analog sticks rather than the cumbersome setup with gamekeyboard, which is great but not ideal.

If emailed gamekeyboard dev I would of thought he could enable this option as he already has (touchscreen to Bluetooth controller natively with analog input) but would still mean you would need ICS or above.
