So you have included Klins Kernel right?
Doesn't it cause issues with wifi, because it is outdated?

It works fine for me. I am interested in the Zarboz kernel, but it was unstable on my phone when I tried it, even with stock settings. I am considering compiling my own, and took this up a while back, but ran into some issues and tabled it for the time being. I've been using Klin's kernel on mikeyinid's ROM for a while and haven't had any issues yet.

I'm a bit confused over here. Is this build from 11/12/12 or 11/22/12?
Thanks,
Da Baron

Install ChainsDD's Superuser app from the market. I will look into the audio levels for video recording the next time I build.

To OP,
Do you plan on keeping this developemnt going forward?
There are plenty of people here that would love this, including myself.

I wiped out the distro I had running where I orginally did the build, but have a tarball with the build tree. I started working on moving this into a VM, but had issues with a crashy linux distro and haven't finished the move yet. AOKP didn't have any changes at all at least through the first week of December, so there was nothing to build regardless. I just checked a couple of days ago and saw some new commits, which I intend to sync and run a new build as soon as I get the build VM set back up. FWIW I have been running my last build as a daily driver since I built it and haven't run into any issues, except that I'm pretty sure the theme chooser doesn't work at all. I will have to go through the AOKP git to see whats been added with the latest commits.

After a lot of requests I'm opening a new thread which will contain my latest CM7 builds (you can find my older builds in this thread). I'll be updating this post so people can follow progress easier, and post their requests/observations. In the next few days I'll be updating this thread with information on how to build your own CM7 ROM. Some might consider it messy, but that's how I've been doing it for quite some time now and the result is satisfactory (for me at least).
About the ROM
Click to collapse
The rom is not pure CM7. I build it from source with the latest commits, then I apply modifications, mostly focusing on speed and smoothness. The releases are not that frequent, you'll be (normally) seeing updates every time there's a bunch of noteworthy additions/fixes by the Cyanogenmod team, or when I'm making significant modifications (even less frequently). If you want a pure CM7 build with frequent (nightly) updates you can take a look at the thread by Kali- which hosts the official nightly releases.
Edit: Here you can find the commit i'm reverting on each release, just in case anyone wants to make their own personal build. <~ Apparently, this is no longer necessary.

Mirror #2: http://www.eth0.it/Android/index.php?dir=PNK/ (kindly provided by maddler - thanks!)
Warning!
Make sure you disable Music syncing @ Accounts & Sync, under the settings menu. This is due to the experimental Honeycomb Music.apk. Thanks to the people that pointed it out in the thread! The Honeycomb Music player has been removed in the recent releases.
Bundled with the latest GApps (including the new Market).
You can flash the ROM using either CWM 2.5.1.3 or CWM 3.0.0.5, it's entirely up to you. If you're coming from an older PNK release, you don't have to wipe. If you encounter any problems you might have to, though - so it's advised.
Flashing with CWM 3.0.0.5 (Download)
If by any chance you get into bootloops, download FULL-WIPE.zip from this thread, flash it, and then flash the ROM. If you're still getting bootloops follow these steps:
Go to recovery > Wipe Data > Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache > Flash FULL_WIPE.zip (which you downloaded earlier) > Flash the ROM.
Alternatively you can flash CWM 2.5.1.3 and read below.
Flashing with CWM 2.5.1.3(Download)
If you're using CWM2 to flash and you get bootloops, download FULL-WIPE.zip from this thread, flash it, and then flash the ROM. If you're still getting bootloops follow these steps:
Go to recovery > Wipe Data > Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache > Flash FULL_WIPE.zip (which you downloaded earlier) > Flash the ROM.
What's not working
- Camera Auto-Focus when shooting videos.
- Camera Touch-Focus when shooting pictures.
- Video playback 2/3 blue in portrait.

Help! When I flash this ROM and boot: the notification bar is missing / this app keeps FC'ing / I see flying turtles all over my 4.3" screen
YOU DIDN'T WIPE CORRECTLY. Please read this whole post again. And again. And again.
Especially if you're coming from a Sense ROM.
Help! USB Mass Storage isn't working!
If USB isn't working, follow this excellent guide by Walker Street.
Why does my keyboard show japanese characters?
Since the last few builds the keyboard defaults to the japanese one. Just long press in a text input field > Input Method > Select "Android Keyboard".
Quadrant doesn't show anything when running the 3D tests. What's going on?
At the moment, we're missing the Adreno 205 (DesireHD's GPU) library files for Gingerbread. When they're released the problems will be resolved, but for the time being I'm affraid you're going to have to live with it.
Why isn't WiFi working?
Just reboot your device and it'll work just fine! It happens when you flash the ROM for the first time.
Adfree isn't working! I get JavaIOExeption all the time.
You don't need Adfree. The builds comes with a preinstalled hosts file to block ads automatically. You don't need to install an additional application for this.
The Application "xyz" keeps force closing. Can you fix this?
First, make sure you wiped correctly, as stated earlier. This is really one of the most common reasons of getting a force close. If you're absolutely certain that you've wiped and clean-installed the ROM, please take a look at the market comments/description of the app that's forceclosing. Some applications have not been updated to work on Gingerbread (2.3).
How dare you remove the Sim Toolkit application? You should be ashamed of yourself!
Sorry! Some people claim it has a negative effect on battery life. If you really need it, you can find it here. Just push it to /system/app/ or copy it to your sdcard and install it using your favorite file manager.

You can check out this excellent thread by Walker Street on how to build your own CM7 from source.
Make sure you thank him for his excellent guide.
thank you Phunkycow..I am very very interesting about this guide..I want to learn how i can modify a rom..I don't know even the basics..Now it's an opportunity for me to help in this also..
Looking forward to learning how to build from source, if you need a noob to test out anything then feel free to give me a shout. In the meantime the build is fantastic, have been using since your first release - keep em coming...

Hey, been using this rom all day and its nice altough had some problems with youtube app, sometimes being unresponsive and force closed but was ok after a reboot but i really really like the smoothness
Anyway my question is, is there a way to get radio s-off? i tried with the "one click radio s-off" tool but it says that incompatible kernel because i want to flash another radio.
And maybe this is a bug?, at 95% charged(still connected) the Orange LEd switched to green led even if its not fully charged.
Keep up the good job.
LE: sorry computerfreak for ninja edit , i need another radio thats why i want Radio S-off.

[ROM] OFFICIAL codefireX Jellybean Nightlies

These are official codefireX JellyBean Nightlies brought to you by Synergy(e) and TeamCodefire.
codefireX is a CM10 spinoff with the goal of providing additional power-user features (all contained in the codefireX settings panel) while still maintaining full upstream CM compatibility for automated CM merges daily for the nightlies. This means the nightlies are fully up to date with the CM10 nightlies, however you get additional features too! The codefireX settings panel will become even more populated with cool tweaks as this project progresses, and more device nightlies will also be added.
The github for the local manifest for use with CyanogenMod's JellyBean manifest is HERE. The device repos were moved over to ANDROMADUS with the inclusion of synergy(e) into the Andromadus team. The kernel compiled off git during every nightly is HERE and the kb-stable branch is what is synced/used. Changelogs are not available, however you may use github (github is always current). The maintainer for this device will not respond to questions on this thread, so please help your fellow android user out

What is not working, man?
Hi !
Thank you for cooking up this cool ROM for our devices. I'm installing it :fingers-crossed:
I have just one question : can you change the files' names ? Because they have the same names that the unofficial CM10 nighlies, and it is a bit confusing when you want to try all the ROMs
Thank you. Sounds great!
Im loving their CM10 rom and this sounds like the best of both AOKP and CM.
Will try it this weekend after a few nightlies have been completed.

After a few hours of usage I have found the following minor issues (that could maybe be my fault, take with a grain of salt):
<maxexcloo> First boot has a settings crash (actually, this happens occasionally when in settings), the toggle widget is blank on first boot, panorama mode has some flickers of those green lines, the menu in the apps menu flys in from the top the first time it's used (haven't been able to reproduce this one)
<maxexcloo> Ah another one, I set an animated wallpaper but it seemed to be lost on reboot (after first boot)
<maxexcloo> Multiline carrier text gets cut off unfortunately
<maxexcloo> SystemUI crash on enabling USB mode, google search crash on clicking manage search history in privacy settings

[ROM][CM10] [Alpha] CyanogenMod 10

This is a project I started after building CM 10, Paranoid Android and PAC-man for the Galaxy Exhibit. It branched to the Galaxy W because of the similarity of our phones and then was asked to build it for Galaxy S plus I have to admit I was a little nervous building for phones I do not own but what the hey. Anyways ramblings aside here it is.

Modules if needed
unpack it,you'll see modules folder. copy it to your sd card. then use root explorer and copy all the files inside the modules folder ( DON'T COPY THE ENTIRE FOLDER) to system>lib>modules. replace the existing files. set permissions. (rw-r-r) . then reboot. enjoy, overclocking power. should work with pacman as well.

Do you think I should build a final 4.3 PA before going to KK?
Good to see you're become a master at porting & git

I wonder if you would be so kind as to add something to your 2nd post? A step-by-step procedure to activate ART. This would be a work in progress I suppose, as more info comes in. At the moment there is no central place, just widely spread out posts in numerous threads.

We are expect this .y slimkat size big .i know its is in beta stage but reduce size will more power to defy
I can report newest build works flawless so far. ART is working, breaks Superuser though. Use SuperSU instead. Had the same with an early build of Slimkat on my Nexus7, no idea how they fixed this.
Awesome work TJKV!
/Edit: It won't boot anymore Don't know, what I did that caused this. I got everything ready, rebooted to backup and that's it.
/Edit2: again :-/ I flashed again, got ART ready, flashed gapps, SuperSU and restored /data from the backup I took. Booted up just fine, with all apps but greenify (that one was missing, no idea why). Installed greenify, didn't do anything else of note. Doesn't boot anymore.
/Edit3: after 3 times battery pulled the phone finally booted!
/Edit4: restoring a backup of CM now, maybe I give it another go tomorrow.

Feel free to post logs / bugs here. Mainly have time to build after work on weekdays. On the weekends is when I can actually work on fixing things.
For device specific things just post the bugs / logs here. For CM specific bugs I would use JIRA and post a link to the bug here. (More helpful/useful to the CM team to make an actual JIRA bug report.)
3 WORDS: STABLE AS ****!
thanks for the rom, this will forsure be my daily driver. only little problem is the no service icon (xt1031) but data is working. soft reboot fixes it though!
Can anyone please comment on the speed of this ROM since it is Linaro based? The other 5.1 ROMs on my phone are pretty responsive, but if even more speed can be gained with our limited hardware, that will be great.
@CodyF86,
Having a problem with the download link. Rom starts downloading but does not download the whole 251mb. Only partial download. Tried about ten times but still same result. Tried with a different browser but same result.
Edit: Nevermind. Downloaded the rom from my phone and copied it from download folder on phone to internal storage.
Hello there @CodyF86 ! Thanks for you work! One little request. Do you think you will be able to add a mirror or upload your work to another claudbased storage? Like MEGA or Mediafire or AndroidFileHost or whichever you want. This one you are using is insanely unstable for me. It gets interrupted every 5 minutes. I'll be really glad if you could change it or add other(s).
Cheers.
I'll upload to Google drive starting tonight also. Driving home from work, will do another one.

Thank you very much! And sorry for bothering you with this. I really want to test your ROM since al Linaro builds seem gone from this forum. Thanks again. Drive safe
Cheers.
New build posted. Main link is to Google drive now.
Some more ARM assembly fun if you look under the kernel source commits.
Will fix the signal indicator so you don't have to do a soft reboot for it to work this weekend. Need to go through the soak test build.prop and compare a few other things...just need time this weekend.

thanks for both: new link and new build Can I dirty flash it over the build before? Just installed the first release lol

I've been dirty flashing; should be good to go.
Update: yes, this ROM is very fast indeed! Thanks for sharing.
This ROM is very fast! Especially for a CM ROM (which in my experience have gotten horribly slow over the last few versions) I haven't experienced nearly as many redraws, stutters, freezes or any other general unpleasantness. Good job @CodyF86

Weird, I haven't noticed that, but tbh I haven't actually payed attention to what year my phone shows / I don't even have it set up to show me I'll have to look and see if mine does it also.
