Hello friend,
Can you confirm that this is working on the Thinkpad Tablet, ICS Kernel?
This is working on any Android device with multitask, multitouch and 3,1+ system.
J'm tried GMD on IdeaPad K1, my brother tried on Optimus 3D and it works
works great on my TPT, some nice features included.
It is necessary to keep your home screen clean and get an quick access to important apps.
greetings
high-voltages
Works great on CM10 8.01 !
but on the stock ICS, when in Pen-Only-Mode, the gestures still worked (But that should be an error from Lenovo).Unfortunately Quill crashed then a few times, at the Stock ICS (I think because I added a Close Gesture ).
works pretty good on K1 CM10

Hello,
I was wondering if there is any way to get Multitouch Gestures on my android tablet as seen on IOS 4.3 and IOS 5. I would really like to use 4 fingers to switch between apps and four finger pinch to go to the home screen instead of using the task bar. Is there any way to get this feature on android, or is anyone working on it?
You can see an example here:

Thank You
Honestly, I believe that we of the Android community should be able to do almost anything given the hardware we have. I would like to know about this as well and at least see if anybody had been thinking of creating a multitouch gesture engine do android.
+1
the allways on status bar just occupies too much screen real estate
There should be some way to autohide it
iOS like multitouch gestures might be the best way to do so.

thank you for the vid, i hadnt seen that before. i would be VERY interested in this capability on android!
For the Defy a patch was recently posted that allows detection of up to ten fingers. I think it was ported from the Milestone2, so there's at least two phones out there that can do it, and for sure they're not the only ones. So the tech is there. Now what's necessary is writing apps that make use of it.

the 10 multi-touch input for the Defy was taken from the Atrix, and ported to Milestone 2. I have a defy and frankly i don't anything requiring 10-multitouch input (just think: all your 10 fingers on a 3.7" screen xD and I wonder for what gesture...)
4 or 5 multi-touch input is the most suitable.
anything new on this front?
Anything?
Did you ever find out how?

So I would love to find an app that allows for a slide out "locker" for apps of my choice in it. I'm thinking something like the Ubuntu favorites bar on the new Ubuntu UI... This shouldn't be too tough to make as Action Launcher Pro does it with the app drawer...I'd just like to be able to put the apps I want in there instead of all of them.. Kind of like taking the Dock, turning it on it's side, and allowing for a gesture from the edge of the screen to open it and a swipe back to edge to close or to close when I choose an app in it. I would also love for it to be customizable with custom Icons and allow for shortcuts to widgets as well like using the audio manager profile list widget and last but not least be scrollable so that I can have as many apps as I want in there. .. .Of course this should be an app/widget that can have multiple instances (Think one on each screen edge) and not a launcher as I'd like to use it with Nova Launcher if possible.
Is this too much to ask for?
Fliplauncher does a lot of what you ask for.
Works with other launchers, too.
AW: Slide out "Locker" for Apps
Miui... many themes have that

Flip Launcher will work for now. It's similar.. I was thinking 1 long inch wide slide out vertical bar that scrolls but this will hold me over for now
I'll have to look at the MIUI ones but I just love my Minco ROM and have never gotten a MIUI Rom to work for me for some reason...
AW: Slide out "Locker" for Apps
miui is important to have the right kernel. before i started flashing, i customized my phone with such launchers and replacements and it was just a waste of ram, it worked, but it wasnt good at all. In miui i can customize my theme in an more awsome and more easy way.

Unfortunately there is no MIUI so far for the nexus 4
I use GMD Gesture Control, one of the default gestures is swipe in from the right edge to get a "locker". Sounds like what you're looking for. Try the free version to see if you like it.

That is more like it! Once they tweak it a little to allow hiding apps I don't want there and improve the gesture sensitivity to open it up it should be great thanks!

Can't argue with that. GYF *was* too slow
Note that I am the author of GYF but I actually use both GYF and LMT as my daily drivers because, well, LMT is great and really completes GYF (or the other way around, lol)
hello xda-community,
i am searching an keyboard android application that has a spliting feature (when u got the tablet in the hands, being able to access all buttons of the keyboard using only thumbs) AND also switches to the native s-pen application, when taking out the s-pen.
here a list of already tested apps:
samsung keyboard
swiftkey 3 pro
list of what i am/will be testing:
thumb keyboard
floatNsplit keyboard
in addition i would like to make a poll so note 10.1 users can vote for their favorite keyboard.
edit: seems like floatNsplit keyboard is pretty usefull after some testing. Problem is that it doesnt react to S-pen and i can't find any option fo it in the preferences of the app.
Use SPenBoard Switcher ★Switching keyboards depending on the S-Pen position★
If you using Omega Rom you can use SPenBoard Switcher to change keyboard when S-pen is detach...
Here the link in xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075916
Hope it can help you!
SPen Board Switcher works for every rooted Samsung Firmware, not just if youre using Omega.

Yes, it is true... but I mean that SPen Board Switcher is included in Omega Rom :fingers-crossed:
does someone know how to split the keyboard of "Swiftkey Tablet Keyboard v4"? i dont find any preferences or options to make it split into two areas for making it easy to type with only the tumbs when holding the tablet.
SPen Board switcher as stated above. I have honestly been very dissatisfied with keyboards on the tablet. I have yet to find one that I actually like. I've tried 5-6 different boards now, and still have not found one for me personally. Stock Android would be nice - if it had split and number row. So for the time being I just use the Samsung IME - modified with working auto-correct. Has worked fairly well.
Did you try Kii Keyboard? It has options for split in landscape and swype in portrait. And there's a button to switch input methods.
So I relly liked Pie control and wanted it on my tablet without losing the Touchwiz stuff, I found this app and it is Awesome!!! :good:
It is LMT launcher and works great!! check out the thread for it. You have to be rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
I have been using LMT for some time now and it is great... But recently I moved on the GMD Gestures and you would love using it instead of LMT on a large screen. Now, I use my fingers to go back, lock screen, reach home, etc.
You can even use a combination of both ..
These are one of the few great apps to make life easier
Hi guys,
These apps i am about to introduce will change your phone experience for the better not just our phone for that matter but any Android phone.
1. Immersive Mode Manager(Paid)
This app is a must for every Amoled screen to protect your phone from future screen burn, the other thing is you get to enjoy the full screen experience with every app on your phone. I install this app on all of my Android devices.
I have created a thread long ago doing it manually but i think it's too much of work for people who want an app for that, if you want a manual free alternative check it out.
2. Fluid Navigation Gestures(Free/Pro Features)
This is my second go to app which i was introduced to recently. I will dare to say IMPO that it's the best custom gesture navigation app on Android currently.
By the way our Asus gesture navigation is not bad but i feel it's not polished yet. Also by using Fluid Navigation Gestures we can disable the navigation bar in the keyboard so that is a plus. So go ahead and give it a try.
3. JINA: App Drawer, Sidebar & Folder Organizer(Free)
This app is also a recent discovery and i highly recommend it. What the stock rom or custom rom for that matter lacks to date is the ability to access your apps form any app without going back to the Home launcher to access the drawer. With this app you can achieve that and then some more. The only downside of this app is that it's not noob friendly it will take you a lot of time to figure out all the features it has. The best thing about it you can customize every aspect of it and it's free.
4. Glimpse Notifications, Always On Edge - Edge Lighting or Glance Plus(Free/ Free / Free)
So to my surprise the ROG phone doesn't wake the device when you receive notifications like my previous HTC phone, but don't fret because here where Glimpse Notifications solves the problem that is if you just want the screen to simply light up. If you want more customization then the other two apps are great to check out.
5. Blokada(Free)
You must have an Ad blocker on the list if you are unrooted and definitely one of the best open source and free app out there is this one.
6. Popup Widget 3(Paid)
Now this app will get your phone setup to another level, instead of cluttering your homescreen with widgets how about hiding them and calling them when needed only either through your home launcher gestures or a shortcut sidebar ... . Pretty cool right!. Now this isn't a must have app but i had to mention it because it's absolutely amazing. I have an old video featuring it check it out.
-------
I will keep updating this thread once other apps are discovered or suggested.
-------
*Launcher used: Nova Launcher
*Icon Pack: Pixel Icon Pack
Here is an updated video to showcase everything
Great List ! Much appreciated !
Thanks
Cool "A Liquid Cloud" live wallpaper. I bought the paid version to support the developer, but the free version is great.
Swiftkey Keyboard
Textra SMS
Firefox browser
I used to use a third party camera, but I like the default camera and love playing with Google Lens
I used to use Apex launcher, but they have gone downhill lately forcing bloatware on you. I might stick with the default. I like the default theme.
I have installed Immersive Mode Manager! Very cool!
is there any app or setting mod that allows can turn the RGB /aura lighting into a visualizer for audio/media playback ? like the audio visualizer chroma app available for razer chroma windows on windows platform ?
