So I relly liked Pie control and wanted it on my tablet without losing the Touchwiz stuff, I found this app and it is Awesome!!! :good:
It is LMT launcher and works great!! check out the thread for it. You have to be rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
I have been using LMT for some time now and it is great... But recently I moved on the GMD Gestures and you would love using it instead of LMT on a large screen. Now, I use my fingers to go back, lock screen, reach home, etc.
You can even use a combination of both ..
These are one of the few great apps to make life easier

So I would love to find an app that allows for a slide out "locker" for apps of my choice in it. I'm thinking something like the Ubuntu favorites bar on the new Ubuntu UI... This shouldn't be too tough to make as Action Launcher Pro does it with the app drawer...I'd just like to be able to put the apps I want in there instead of all of them.. Kind of like taking the Dock, turning it on it's side, and allowing for a gesture from the edge of the screen to open it and a swipe back to edge to close or to close when I choose an app in it. I would also love for it to be customizable with custom Icons and allow for shortcuts to widgets as well like using the audio manager profile list widget and last but not least be scrollable so that I can have as many apps as I want in there. .. .Of course this should be an app/widget that can have multiple instances (Think one on each screen edge) and not a launcher as I'd like to use it with Nova Launcher if possible.
Is this too much to ask for?
Fliplauncher does a lot of what you ask for.
Works with other launchers, too.
AW: Slide out "Locker" for Apps
Miui... many themes have that

Flip Launcher will work for now. It's similar.. I was thinking 1 long inch wide slide out vertical bar that scrolls but this will hold me over for now
I'll have to look at the MIUI ones but I just love my Minco ROM and have never gotten a MIUI Rom to work for me for some reason...
AW: Slide out "Locker" for Apps
miui is important to have the right kernel. before i started flashing, i customized my phone with such launchers and replacements and it was just a waste of ram, it worked, but it wasnt good at all. In miui i can customize my theme in an more awsome and more easy way.

Unfortunately there is no MIUI so far for the nexus 4
I use GMD Gesture Control, one of the default gestures is swipe in from the right edge to get a "locker". Sounds like what you're looking for. Try the free version to see if you like it.

That is more like it! Once they tweak it a little to allow hiding apps I don't want there and improve the gesture sensitivity to open it up it should be great thanks!

Can't argue with that. GYF *was* too slow
Note that I am the author of GYF but I actually use both GYF and LMT as my daily drivers because, well, LMT is great and really completes GYF (or the other way around, lol)
Probably a most Stupid ?
Nova launcher & Stock Browser w/ keyboard.

LOL - seriously right handed?
You could try if you like the Quick controls in the stock browser. They are hidden in Settings > Labs. They show up on both sides of the screen if you long tap either left or right.
Tried Lmt launcher (pie launcher)?
It can overlay over nova. Is not a full launcher, though it provides really neat access to many things, including buttons back, home, multitask.
Have it on my phone and tab.

I tried the quick controls, never knew it was there. A neat interface but wasn't very responsive launching. I'll try using it some more maybe it's just me. Don't care for the tabs disappearing up top but it is what it is.
Okay so I was very afraid of having a larger screened phone because I truly don't like to use two hands with my phone 90% of the time. So I've been using pie controls for years and I have to say I've really really found that using them has made my 7pro AMAZING but large screen much easier to use for switching apps or toggling wifi/data or any other settings. Truly I know it's like Samsung edge drawer or whatever it's called but honestly it's better. Instant access to atleast 20 apps without having to go back to home screen than back to the app drawer or folder and select the app. IMO one of the best "mods" or apps for a larger phone with so much ram for multitasking. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol
I was using Pie control for a long time and finally switched to this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.pie
looks much nicer and has many options

I shall check into that one for sure. Seems like the one that used to be called into a rom I use to use on my gs3.

Do any of you have following problem with pie control : in full screen apps like camera, video, even picture or games I cannot see pie when I swipe, I feel it vibrates no I cannot see it and what it's the worst part if I'm in camera for example and "blindly" (as I cannot see it) use for example back function it works but then app I non responsive (it works but doesn't see my touches) and I need to "blindly" use pie control to switch to home/other app and go back. Then it works again until I use pie control again, it it annoying... It only behaves like that if I have navigation gestures activated (to hide the navbar), wieh navbar on it works ok but the whole point is to not have it and use full screen experience...

Yeah I had this problem with app from the first post, just tested the one from your link and so far it works fine in all apps
Ya'll should try Leedroid's Shortcutter, been using since first initial release. App drawer(you select) can open from the right left and now from bottom.

Been using this apk since nexus 6p. It's absolutely amazing.
On Samsung this what I use. It blows Edge away.
Uses almost no battery, freeware, no ads or crap.
One Hand Operation + - Apps on Google Play
Use your device easily with only one hand !

Unfortunately the awesome aspects of that where it users no battery and all that jazz is because it is built into your OS. There are a few mod apps like that in the "Good Lock" family that actually are pretty nice on Samsung. They do us no good over here though.

Edge* isn't that awesome and definitely uses more battery than One Handed Operation plus**, however the latter may be compatible only with Samsung phones.
One of the biggest reasons to choose Samsung is it's none root customization. The best ones come from the Galaxy Store. Hundreds of free themes, icon packs, AODs, and much more.
No other brand comes close.
*I use it for cut/paste management only. Other apps like One Handed Operation plus is superior in every way to Egde.
**not a native apk but one of the best 3rd party apks for the 10+ Rock solid stable.
Since I upgraded to android 10 I have the new gestures, but the back gesture is really bothering me. Is there any way to customize the back action trigger zone in order to make it smaller?

I wish. I spent a decent amount of time looking. There isn't yet.
Just using the P style gestures for now. They are better than being wholly unable to open side drawers.
There is not currently, but there is an app called Fluid Navigation Gestures that does this. It's basically a customizable version of the current navigation gestures. Not sure how well it works on Q but I used to have it on my OP6t and it worked great.
Edge gestures. I am not ot using the back gestures on Android 10 and using this one. Customizable. Used fluid navigation gestures as well. Won't go wrong with either.
Hi Guys
just for try some home/launcher, which Launcher do you use it, alternatively to samsung Home?
now i try PocoLauncher, its fast and light, but don't have, on the left of display, the google page!
thanks
I use Nova Launcher have done so on every phone I have had since I can remember!
I've used the stock one that comes with the phone for a few weeks and now on Nova. Tbh Samsungs one UI is actually ntb. I would recommend trying theirs before you get Nova and dedicate a bunch of time to customizing.
I use Niagara launcher because it's simple and for a tall phone it makes it easier to navigate through my apps
Smart Launcher 5. I used TSF Shell until it cost too much battery to justify the aesthetics. Nova and friends always felt clunky and sloppy.
TSF launcher even though development stopped 4 years ago, everything still works fine for me and love the smoothest of swiping screens.
Nova 7. Simply great.
Nova since S2 as far as I remember
Nova.
I use it on all Android phones since a few years ago.
now i try Lawnchair2, its very good, but yes Nova its the best for me too.
I use Ruthless Launcher it´s free, works well with gestures, has a google feed plugin and double tap to lock works well oh and Icon pack support as well
Microsoft Launcher for about five years now.

I am also using Ruthless but with navigation buttons. How do you get it to work properly with gestures? Both Nova and Ruthless give me redraws of the homescreen when I come home via gesture and try to interact fast with another app.
One UI as the others don't work well with gestures...as above Nova gives me redraws.
I am using Blackberry launcher in the meantime to allow myself some buffer to move on to a Samsung from Blackberry Key2 (and lots of BB devices previously)

Welcome to 2021. I'm glad you could join us.
I use "Square Launcher" on every Android Device i had the last few years. Best!
Also been using Nova Launcher Prime since it was released. Never had a problem with it.
I use Nova or Lawnchair 2 .... are similar and very good... I prefer Lawnchair for the dock bar with 2 rows that i like much. Both can use Google Feed on left page.
I'm also a nova user for so long now.
