Hi guys,
I was wondering is a phone repairable if it will not power on after flashing KDZ? I mean like it has no power, won't turn on, won't be recognize by computer? Is there any trick of the trades? Thanks.
Yes, JTAG, changing mainboard or go to service centre.
Many users asked that, why do you don't search a bit? If you don't find it, you can ask.

I unrooted this morning and was doing the latest official update. The download was quite slow so I left my phone aside and its screen went black.
After a while when I got back to the phone, I pressed the power button as usual, however, the screen didn't turn back on. After a few tries of either pressing or holding the power button, nothing happened. Then I decided to remove the battery and try restarting. No use...
Did search on this forum and then tried numerous ways to unbrick it, tried several procedures and combo of volumn key + power button + odin etc. Guess what, it stays as a brick.
Well, in some threads, it was mentioned that others' captivate can go to some kind of diagnosis mode without complicated procedure. In my case, no matter how I try, brick is alway a brick...
While now I'm waiting for ATT to fedex me a replacement, as a last resort, I'm posting this thread to see if I could get any help...
Million thanks!
[email protected]#$%! same here. A brick is a brick is a brick. I'm getting nothing from this thing... unreal.

and those ^&*@#ing ATT that sent us the wrong software update doesnt care, and they only offer me a refurbished phone...
errr.... my phone is NEW when i bought it, it works properly, ATT tried to update my phone, and they bricked it... and now they dont want to take the responsibility by giving me new phone... they not only waste my time, and my data, but my money too!! i am paying NEW for this phone, not a refurb!
i like android, but i dont think i can stand this anymore... if this were apple's iphone, the apple store will replace my phone with no question asked...

Hi all can someone tell what problem did my phone have yesterday my phone restart alone and stuck on lg boot logo i have mango 7.5 on but i dont now what i need to do i love this phone.help
Pls tell me if is hardware problem or software or my firmware is dead
I dont whant to spend money with service
Could be either, what i would do is pull the battery out first and leave it out for 10 min. Turn it on and see what it does. If it still does not work try a hard reset. Turn the phone off, hold volume up and down and the power button at the same time for like 5 seconds and then release and follow the prompts. If that does not work i would say its hardware.
Pull the battery, put it back on and plug it to the pc while turned off. Try this, it may help. Otherwise you can try and see if Zune detects the phone while looping, if it does you can try to roll back to the previous firmware.

If you've tried all the other suggestions and have no results, you may be forced into the "nuclear option". Download the firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935605 and put into emergency download (slide keyboard open, hold the space bar while pressing the power button). You'll also need to download the LG flashing tool. Use this tutorial as a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935605
Hope everything works out for you.

My bad, that's what happens when you get old. Either way, I'm sure the OEM firmwares are out there.
I was with my phone to the service to check my phone if is damaged and they told me my phone is fine and the software is dead and i need 20 euro to repair but i don't have this money tell me if is some method to repair my phone without money at home because i'm from romania and here why don't have enough money
Hi,
My brick is a little different than most others on this forum and searching revealed nothing. I was BL unlocked and installed a custom ROM 6 months ago. Did not have a problem since or change anything. One day, leave home with 15% battery. Go to look at my phone later in the day and it won't turn on. Get home and try and charge it, won't charge and no charging light. Seems to be hard bricked. These are the things I've tried to no avail:
Leaving it plugged in for a day, plugging into computer (which does not even recognize it), power+volume down/up/middle, holding power and then plugging in. Figuring it was dead I sent it to Rogers to be repaired, however they found that it was unlocked and quoted me $250 repair.
So:
a) what are the chances that this is a hardware issue rather than a software issue? And how did Rogers find out it was unlocked?!?
b) is there anything else I can do to revive it?
c) if I send it to HTC what are the chances they cover it under warranty as a hardware defect?
d) I am not too familiar with this last one but could JTAGing possibly revive my phone?
Thanks for your help!

I'll assume you've tried multiple USB cords. Maybe your USB connector on your phone is just loose/broken. If that's the case Rogers probably just tested on a power supply and saw that it was unlocked. Maybe a local repair shop could take a look at it if you aren't confident cracking it open yourself.

Yup I have thanks. That's what I may do then...Thanks for the advice. Just seems weird that the usb connector would go at the same time that the phone drained to 0 battery.

I have a big problem whit my LG G2 D800. Phones worked flawlessly since the day I got it, and I've had zero problems with it at all. This morning i restarted it, and it didnt turn back on ever. I tried plugging it into a different outlet with a different charge for an hour, tried vol- power and holding power for 5 minutes. it looks like the battery is dead. I apologize for my English , and appreciate your help
I had a similar order of events
A similar thing happened to my G2 as well on April 8th. I held the power button down, selected power off and restart, and it didn't come back on. I tried everything I could think of. Button combos while unplugged/plugged in (AC power and a USB port on a PC), physically pulling the battery, etc. I took the phone apart entirely to check connections and to inspect the board and had my IT instructor do the same, nothing seemed wrong. Also, my LG-D800 was completely stock and not rooted running the latest OTA update from AT&t.
Did you select the same option to restart? Or did you power off then hold the power button to turn it back on? I find it strange that there is another occurrence of a similar (or same?) order of events that caused the G2 to just die. I searched all over and couldn't find a similar story.
I ended up sending mine to LG since the logical conclusion was a dead board. Sorry I don't have an answer, but I thought sharing my experience could help with troubleshooting in some way. I'll update with information if LG gives me any specifics.
UPDATE: Nothing more than "bad component caused by physical or water/liquid damage" from LG, unfortunately. My repair will cost about $70 which isn't too bad. You may want to see what LG can do for you. Good luck!
Okay, so I know this has been posted a lot but I am pulling my hair out!! :crying:
So this is what happened, I downloaded this app from google play. It had 4.8 rating, whatever. But it's purpose was to, keep your game playing in the background when your screen is locked. Everything was working fine, until my phone lagged and restarted, I got it to turn back on like normal. But then, random shut offs has been happening ever since.
I decided to do a factory reset on my phone, it was okay for a day, but when I played a game on the phone, it crashed
and shut off again.
Now it won't open, i tried everything! and when I say everything, I mean every basic way to restart it. Except flashing it. Because it can't even turn on on it's safe mode. it has been on a coma for 3 hours now, it is plugged now on its original power brick and chord.
My pc doesn't recognize it.
I have 2 questions, will I still be able to fix this? And, can a technician fix this. Like 100% fix it when I decide to go to a tech tomorrow?

Try after few hours and check if the pc detects it. Technician can fix it but try one time on the pc tomorrow before your leave for technician. Also change the usb cable and try.

Thanks! I already tried changing the cable, I will try again once I get home. But, if it won't work, I'll go for the tech. Do I have to go to a oneplus tech? or any mobile tech can do? I read that this is "Hard brick" and somewhat impossible to fix. I really just need something to calm me down. LOL! so you telling me that a tech can fix it for sure, made me a little less worried.

Best will be sent to oneplus if accessible either you have warranty or not. If that's a hardbrick then you can't be sure if you local technician can fix it.

Did you try holding key combination while connecting to the PC or you just connected it to the PC and nothing happened?

I tried holding the key combination for a good minute, the power button embedded on my finger LOL! But yes, the PC did not detect anything.

Well, we don't have Oneplus "store" here, just resellers, and they don't offer warranties nor fixes.
I tried opening again, but it's still not responding.

Not the power button. Volume buttons. You can get in EDL mode that way and maybe it will be recognized if bricked. There are 2 possibilities, it's either brick or hardware damage. If bricked only, it can be unbricked. IF damaged, well, the Service center.
Try this:
Power your device off
Maintain volume up and volume down keys to get into Qualcomm EDL mode. So, Volume Up and Down together hold and plug the cable in while holding the buttons. If you get any detection, there is hope.
Use MSM Tool, of course with corresponding ROM for flash.
