[Q] IGO global_cfg not found solution - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I install IGO /Primo 2.0 I see "Content error global_cfg not found".
I know that the folder path in sys.txt file must be described properly.
My 6800 has Nexness Pro V2 ROM.
My IGO folder (which has content and other folder and files) is located within the internal storage..
What must I write down for the correct path of IGO ?
Ths in advance for the folks who can help..

Not a valid win32 application

Can anyone help!..Iam trying to load up TomTom navigator 5 into my XDA from my pc but all iam getting is "Not a valid win32 application", is there a workaround for the problem.
Iam running XP Home on my pc and have a XDA1 running pocket pc 2002 version 3.17.03
maybe it's a pocketpc exe file ?
Yep- agreed with Rudegar...
Copy the file on PPC/SD Card and execute it from there.
No tried that not working
Download the file from another mirror/link. This exe might not have been completely downloded or could be corrupt.
hi there you have to copy the files out of the TomTom folder onto your MMc and then go into file browser and run it.
i made same mistake i put the tomtom folder on the mmc and went in to it and tried to installl but no look,u need to put the CONTENTS of that folder on the MMC then select the start(two tomtom hands) it will install then
Thanks mate, you done the trick....took it out of the original file and copied individually to the SD Card - took ages but cracked it, works a treat.
Again thanks

Installing software to other directory.

Hi all,
I just sucessfully installed big storage on my O2 mini and was wondering how i can change the default directory to which my software installs. The software is Imaginet-arabitizer and it uses a PC-based installation. No cab files...
Help please....
help
you can only whether you want to install a program to a default location, storage or a storage card. it will ask you in the beginning of installation by ActiveSync. choose NO and install sonewhere else.. gl
Still no luck....
Unfortunately, this particular program does not use the active sync user interface for the installation....
Any other methods?
i saw a shareware program on the forums once that did that... wish i downloaded it then cause i cant find it again sorry .. thought id let you know its out there though.....
aidil916 - unless it's some kind of ROM update etc, anything that gets installed on the PPC must always use a cab file, even on PC based install. So, start the install, and does add/remove programs or something come up?
Either way, if it installs something to the PPC (i've no idea how the arabizer works), interrupt the installation or somehow stall it. Then use a program like Filetracer or even the XP search tool to find any cabs installed to your pc in the last few minutes. Track down the cab (usually in your temp folder, programs folder or activesync folder) and then take a backup copy of the cab. Then, copy that to your PPC..
Tell me how it goes.

Usually when you perform PC-based installation software asks you for target location but some programs are hard-coded with "\Program Files\ProgramName" path so they will fail to work if you place them to another locations, i.e. to Storage Card
For programs that don't allow you to change target location you can change their registry entries to correct their path from "\Program Files\" to "\Storage Card\Program Files\". Here you will also need to manually move your program to a new location (SD) using Explorer's copy-&-paste functions
ps: don't use cut-&-paste because some of your programs may be running and this will cause sharing violation errors
Example, I have program "ABC" installed at "\Program Files\ABC" folder.
1) Using Explorer I navigate to "\Program Files" and COPY "ABC" folder to clipboard
2) Now I navigate to "\Storage Card" and create folder "Program Files"
3) I open newly created folder "\Storage Card\Program Files" and PASTE my "ABC" folder from clipboard here
4) Using Registry Editors I search for "\Program Files\ABC" entries and change them to "\Storage Card\Program Files\ABC"
5) I do soft-reset. If after that program works Ok, I delete "\Program Files\ABC"
The software is Imaginet-arabitizer and it uses a PC-based installation. No cab files...

Check your activesync's installation location. You will find the cab file within Software name or company folder, like "C:\program files\microsoft activesync\ABC"
Cheers

There are 3 methods i use,
1st is download the CAB file if you can, copy to your PPC and install with a program called CAB Install http://www.s-k-tools.com/fp/viewtopic.php?t=44 which allows you to install the app anywhere you want.
2nd is to run the standard ??.exe PC installation file but without your PPC pluged in. After the ??.exe install file is finished it will normally produces a CAB file on your PC which will copy across to your PPC next time you plug it in. All you need to is to find the CAB file and manually copy it to your PPC and use CAB Install.
The 3rd way is to do the same as 2 above and then use an app called WinCE CAB manager which you can generally modify the CAB files standard installation directory to what ever you want to.
Hope this helps
Most software including PC based installs eventually use CAB files. For this I use a small program CabInstl.

About GPS... Igo8

Hello guys, I have got Igo 8 in only one file on the web, and once I unzip it and click to run, it give me an error: "Failed to open file: ui_igo_da\480_640\loading.bmp exiting application."
Whats up? why this error? What could I do to use Igo8 on my fuze?
Thanks
http://navngo.com/pages/global/eng/igo_8_where_to_buy
... I have just asked HOW TO FIX it, and not where & how to buy it, kz I have already bought it, please take attention on my question.
the same way, thank you for "trying".
sorry mate, i didn't realise you had brought it, as you didnt mention it! i have igo8 on my touch pro, i set it up awhile ago though! i had 2 folders, one called iGO8 and one called 2577, in the 2557 folder, i ran the autorun.exe and it setup all fine, both folders are in the root of the storage card. i don't have a folder called "ui_igo_da\480_640\" though. sorry i can't be of more help
in igo8 folder you've got a file called data.zip
in it you will find the ui_igo8_da\....
just search for another data.zip on the net until you find one that works (or a combination of igo8.exe, data.zip and branding.zip that works)

How does NaviPanel work with iGO8 in Windows Mobile Phones?

How does NaviPanel work with iGO8 in Windows Mobile Phones?
I tried many times to find the right suitable way to make the navigation program iGO8 work through the NaviPanel Application in my hTC hd2 and finally I found the solution to this problem.
You should do the following steps one by one to get the best results:
1-Create a file directory under the name CoPilot in your phone memory Program files
2-Install the cab file”MSN-NaviPanel” into your phone in your memory card (this application contains the necessary files to define the Copilot navi extension in the NaviPanel. Thanks to xda-developers forum.
3-After installing the “MSN-NaviPanel”cab file you will find two files which are “config.ini” and “Copilot” and “NaviPanel” inside the CoPilot folder that you created in the Program Files.
4-Now you have to open the iGO8 folder in the Program Files and copy the following files:
sys
gpstmc.dll
iGO8.exe
5-Paste them into CoPilot folder you created.
6-Change the name of the “iGO8.exe” file into “CoPilot.exe”.
7-Make another copy of the iGO8.exe file in the same CoPilot folder and name it “splashscreen.exe”.
8-Now you have 7 files in your “CoPilot” folder.
9-Make the following changes to “config.ini” and “sys” files
Sys file >>>>
[folders]
app="Storage card\igo_folder_as_you_named_it"
config.ini file >>>>>
Path=\Program Files\iGO8\iGO8.exe
KeepAlive=on
10-Don’t run NaviPanel when you are connecting the phone to the internet while doing this operation…. Wait till you finish everything.
11-Now do the soft reset to your device.
12-Run NaviPanel and enjoy iGO8 at the same time.
Note: if you receive a message which says that you should restart installing iGO8 because of the SDcard is not original don’t be afraid, do it and restart the program.
Best Regards
Mustafasamina
There's threads and posts on this already. Basically it just launches the program for the buttons on NaviPanel.

Agree for that!
Thanks for posting.I too had the same problem figuring bis out myself.
Is it possible for an xda-developer to built a cab to make the following:
a)Create a Copilot folder
b)Copy allsdk to windows folder and
c)Making the proper key to the registry
Thanks,
yes, but I think other explanations are not enough to do the operation and there are many visitors who dont have enough knowledge about programing. It is a matter of development but not invention. My all thanks to whom participated in providing all informations about such issues.

What do u mean exactly?
Did u get this when u installed the above mentioned cabs or what?
If so i suggest modifying your sys.txt clearly specifying the correct path.
[folders]
app="Storage Card/iGO8"
I hope this helps
Moreover can a cook\chef\wizkid from xda devs replace the htc navi crap with sth that works.I would prefer music player integration, cameraand ability to choose over GPS apps. I think it would have come up to be very handy for all of us and a lot of people would donate for this.

What can I do for resolve this problem ?

try first to get iGo8 working as stand alone. Check if it works when you directly execute it from sdcard.

iGo and ICS (Stunner)

Hi All,
I used to love iGo on my HD2..... so I thought I would try the new Android version. The problem I have is that as the ICS build moves where the external SD card sits I need to find the ini file that tells iGo where the maps etc are located. Problem is I cant find it ANYWHERE on my Note even though it is clearly installed!
Does anyone have any idea where iGo installs its ini file on Android?
Thanks
On Stunner there is a change of location for the external SD card.
External SD card is located at following location:
MMT/EMMC
Yep - that bit I know - what i need to find out is where the iGo ini file is so that I can tell it the new location.... on the old Windows Mobile version the ini file was in the iGo installation folder - but I cant even find that on my Note!

Why don't you just copy the relevant directory/ies from the external sd to the exact same path on the internal one ?
I had to place the iGo files in folder sdcard/external_sd/iGO/
That folder contained the three folders (maps etc.)
That worked for me. Biggest problem with iGO is that it doesn't support the GNote's high resolution, so it only uses 1/3 of the screen.
If you have a solution for that, pray tell...
