Hi All,
I used to love iGo on my HD2..... so I thought I would try the new Android version. The problem I have is that as the ICS build moves where the external SD card sits I need to find the ini file that tells iGo where the maps etc are located. Problem is I cant find it ANYWHERE on my Note even though it is clearly installed!
Does anyone have any idea where iGo installs its ini file on Android?
Thanks
On Stunner there is a change of location for the external SD card.
External SD card is located at following location:
MMT/EMMC
Yep - that bit I know - what i need to find out is where the iGo ini file is so that I can tell it the new location.... on the old Windows Mobile version the ini file was in the iGo installation folder - but I cant even find that on my Note!

Why don't you just copy the relevant directory/ies from the external sd to the exact same path on the internal one ?
I had to place the iGo files in folder sdcard/external_sd/iGO/
That folder contained the three folders (maps etc.)
That worked for me. Biggest problem with iGO is that it doesn't support the GNote's high resolution, so it only uses 1/3 of the screen.
If you have a solution for that, pray tell...

Hi there, i'm new here and hope anyone could help me with my I-mate sp5 on wich i'm trying to install Tomtom mobile...
First i'll tell u what i've done so far:
- i copied tomtom from an original tomtom cd on my harddrive
- the cd contains files for windows mobile smartphones such as imate sp3
- the version of tomtom then would be 5.0 and i need 5.2 for qvga screen
- i copied the rest of the files like voices and the benelux-plus map
- the map on my harddrive now contains the following maps:
- 2577, Benelux_Plus-Map, TomTom, Voices and Zip
- then i copy/paste the mobile update files for version 5.2 to the tomtom map
- update contains these files: 2577, Licenses, nvapp, system and tomtom
- as far as i can see the tomtom maps contain the same files
- then i copy the maps to my storage card using active sync or a card reader
- i reboot my phone and place a file currentmap.dat as said on this forum
- this file goes in this directory: storage/my documents/tomtom
- then i start tomtom and i can get as far as the activation code screen......
So tomtom says i need an activation code but i used a crack for tomtom mobile 5.2 for windows smartphone so i thougt i did'nt need to activate it anymore.....
I've also tried to place a picture file in the storage/my documents/tomtom map using actice sync bit still i can't get past the activation screen...
I've downed saveral tomtom cracks and i'm using the original software from a the copied tomtom cds(and yes it is for windows mobile also..)
So what am i doing wrong????????? Help me please
I can get it to work on a nokia 6600/3230/6630/7610/6670 but not on my new imate sp5 with windows mobile.................
try this link , download the file then ,it should work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=32296
just unpack into your descktop then copy to your device ,accpet overwrite the files
Hi thanx for your fast replie, bu which part of that topic should do the trick??
or shouls i try the gsmhosting link???
Hi Madjid, thanx for the tip i tried the tomtom.rar of the link you mentioned en when i rebooted my phone and strarted tomtom it imedialty displayed the legal notice screen(havent got that before) and whebn i choose 'i agree" it went on and got to the activation screen......
so i'm stuck there again...
i/m trying te place an currentmap.dat in my tomtom folder and will see what happens
Is it possible thatr i'm using maps which ar too new???
if you copy that file that I suggest ,after you install tomtom update it should do the trick (crack) so try again and try to uninstall and install all fresh , the file that I supplied work 100% i tried it in more then one device.
step 1; connect your phone wit the pc & explore, look for storage card ,tomtom folder open it.
step 2; unzip the supplied file to your pc then copy all the files that you unziped to the tomtom folder, accept Overwrite to all the file.
it should work without any problem ,if it freeze in agree screen go to my storage then my document look for the tomtom folder if its umpty put any file or photo in it ,go back and try again it should work.
hope this help.
tomtom mobile 5.2
Solved the problem myself, i tried an older benelux map and it worked, i also placed the canary island map in th eroot of the ssd card so maybe that helps also/

You should be able to paste the .lnk file into your start menu
but the pro doesnt show the start menu, TF3D i do not know how we can add a link
create the link in \windows\startmenu, rename it if you like, and it will be shown in the programs list.

First, installing iGo to your storage card should still put an iGo program folder in Programs.
Second, all you need to do is open File Explorer and navigate to the iGo.exe, and copy it to the desired location.
hi
i just got the tomtom and bluetooth issue and i found a way for it to work!!!
this takes from everyones solution and kinda of mixes it into one.
(Please note i am a newbie to this so if this works for you like it did for me great!!!! if not then please let me know and i will try)
yes you will need the tom tom cab file
All actions are to be done on the phone only!!
1) install the tomtom cab file and select the STORAGE DEVICE only. DO NOT INSTALL ON DEVICE!!!
it should restart to complete the installation.
2) when the phone restarts it should come up with an error message the bt file is not a pocketpc file and gives you the normal error.
3) While the phone is switched on remove your memory card.
4) go to settings, application, remove programs and select the tom tom program and remove it.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE REMOVED YOUR MEMORY CARD BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE SOFTWARE.
5)The phone should then be restarted.
6) You should have now a normal phone that works and bluetooth should be fine.
7) now insert your memory card.
8) go to start, file explorer, storage card, program files, then navigator, here you need to copy the tomtom navigator exe file.
this should be the file with the tom tom logo(the one with the red hands).
copy this file, you do this by pressing on the file and hold it down.
so copy file.
9) now go back to the device memory, you just press the down arrow in the top left hand corner and select my device.
10) now select windows, start menu, programs, and copy the shortcut to this folder.
11) select the tom tom file and rename from "short cut to tomtom" to just tomtom.
12) restart the phone!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT
Now you can access the tom tom from the start menu on your phone and create a shortcut on your phone to it!!!!!
yes yes it was abit of an epic walk thru but this worked 100% for me!!!
you are welcome and thanks to this forum for the apps!!!!
please can you say if this worked or not please
To get Bluetooth working again, you just delete these 2 files then restart your phone.
BtSdkCE30.dll and BtCoreIf.dll
Or use one of the HD2 specific TT cabs that allready have the BT files removed. Works like a charm.
TT for HD2 cab please...
tomasz
Can you provide the link for TT u mentioned please?
How can I remove these two files (BtSdkCE30.dll and BtCoreIf.dll), because on my device these two files are closed by the system ??
Just rename them both, to something like BtSdkCE30old.dll and BtCoreIFold.dll...
It should do the trick

No, I can´t rename the file because they are locked by the system
Are using Total Commander or Resco Explorer? The normal File Explorer will not allow it.

i don't have igo8 installed on my hd2.
i have it on my sd card and ususaly i make a shortcut to igo8.exe from my sa card in order to run it
if you can make it work, maybe you post here a step by step guide
thanks a lot!
1) Modify the "config.ini" file with a text editor (eg. notepad).
So if you're using TomTom for example the Path looks like this:
Path=Program Files/Navigator/TomTom Navigator.exe
2) Create a directory named "CoPilot" in "\Program Files".
3) Copy the "CoPilot.exe" and your modified "config.ini" files in this directory.
4) Start the NaviPanel and it should work.
If it doesn't work it is maybe you're using a custem ROM and you have to register "alksdk.dll". To do so create the followong registry key :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\NaviSW]
"SDKModule"="\\windows\\alksdk.dll"
I included my .cab which does everything for you, so you only have to change the "config.ini" file if you're not using TomTom. It creates a shortcut for NaviPanel in Programs - GPS, adds an icon I like to NaviPanel, starts TomTom and register the dll.
Good Luck guys hopefully this was helpfull for you.

Awesome thanks for your help.
I am making some progress now. I was unable to even get clickiable icons in the navipanel.
After installing the cab I have clickable icons in the navipanel but when I click them I get a message apperar that says "-2147479552" All I can do is hit OK but it keeps reapperaring.
My tom tom is installed directly to the root of the storage card. When I change the path to point to my exe file all the icons in the navipanel are greyed out again.
What am I missing here?

For the case of TomTom just install TomTom on your device and not on the Storage Card.
For iGo8 verify carefully the path to your Storage Card. If you use a different language ROM the name of the Storage Card is not always the same.
Keep in mind that the config.ini file uses "/" and not "\" in the path. (it was like that and I never tried to change).
Keep also in mind that NaviPanel often stays resident, so after changes kill it with a Taskmanager or reboot your device.
If still not working try to Google the HD2 section in the forum. There is some information about iGo8. Copy the .exe and some .dll and the sys.txt out of the root of iGo8 directory and put them in the CoPilot directory, then change your sys.txt for the right paths.
i get that same number error "2455,,,,,,,"
this stuff is driving me insane

Ok, cool it worked for you!
Normally you install the TomTom .cab on your device (the HD2 has lots of memory) and the maps ofcourse you leave on your SD card (TomTom will find them there without any problem).

How does NaviPanel work with iGO8 in Windows Mobile Phones?
I tried many times to find the right suitable way to make the navigation program iGO8 work through the NaviPanel Application in my hTC hd2 and finally I found the solution to this problem.
You should do the following steps one by one to get the best results:
1-Create a file directory under the name CoPilot in your phone memory Program files
2-Install the cab file”MSN-NaviPanel” into your phone in your memory card (this application contains the necessary files to define the Copilot navi extension in the NaviPanel. Thanks to xda-developers forum.
3-After installing the “MSN-NaviPanel”cab file you will find two files which are “config.ini” and “Copilot” and “NaviPanel” inside the CoPilot folder that you created in the Program Files.
4-Now you have to open the iGO8 folder in the Program Files and copy the following files:
sys
gpstmc.dll
iGO8.exe
5-Paste them into CoPilot folder you created.
6-Change the name of the “iGO8.exe” file into “CoPilot.exe”.
7-Make another copy of the iGO8.exe file in the same CoPilot folder and name it “splashscreen.exe”.
8-Now you have 7 files in your “CoPilot” folder.
9-Make the following changes to “config.ini” and “sys” files
Sys file >>>>
[folders]
app="Storage card\igo_folder_as_you_named_it"
config.ini file >>>>>
Path=\Program Files\iGO8\iGO8.exe
KeepAlive=on
10-Don’t run NaviPanel when you are connecting the phone to the internet while doing this operation…. Wait till you finish everything.
11-Now do the soft reset to your device.
12-Run NaviPanel and enjoy iGO8 at the same time.
Note: if you receive a message which says that you should restart installing iGO8 because of the SDcard is not original don’t be afraid, do it and restart the program.
Best Regards
Mustafasamina

Thanks for posting.I too had the same problem figuring bis out myself.
Is it possible for an xda-developer to built a cab to make the following:
a)Create a Copilot folder
b)Copy allsdk to windows folder and
c)Making the proper key to the registry
Thanks,
yes, but I think other explanations are not enough to do the operation and there are many visitors who dont have enough knowledge about programing. It is a matter of development but not invention. My all thanks to whom participated in providing all informations about such issues.

Did u get this when u installed the above mentioned cabs or what?
If so i suggest modifying your sys.txt clearly specifying the correct path.

Moreover can a cook\chef\wizkid from xda devs replace the htc navi crap with sth that works.I would prefer music player integration, cameraand ability to choose over GPS apps. I think it would have come up to be very handy for all of us and a lot of people would donate for this.
