Well you adapt the config.ini to th likening of your navigator and copilot.exe you put in the copilot directory.
For more explanation you could take a look over here : http://www.google.com/cse?cx=partner-pub-2900107662879704:fs7umqefhnf&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=navipanel+hd2

Mate it looks like you copy the copilot folder to your Device\Program Files and then edit the config file to contain the path to your chosen nav software.
I am havin a play with it now, I will let you know.

i don't have igo8 installed on my hd2.
i have it on my sd card and ususaly i make a shortcut to igo8.exe from my sa card in order to run it
if you can make it work, maybe you post here a step by step guide
thanks a lot!
1) Modify the "config.ini" file with a text editor (eg. notepad).
So if you're using TomTom for example the Path looks like this:
Path=Program Files/Navigator/TomTom Navigator.exe
2) Create a directory named "CoPilot" in "\Program Files".
3) Copy the "CoPilot.exe" and your modified "config.ini" files in this directory.
4) Start the NaviPanel and it should work.
If it doesn't work it is maybe you're using a custem ROM and you have to register "alksdk.dll". To do so create the followong registry key :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\NaviSW]
"SDKModule"="\\windows\\alksdk.dll"
I included my .cab which does everything for you, so you only have to change the "config.ini" file if you're not using TomTom. It creates a shortcut for NaviPanel in Programs - GPS, adds an icon I like to NaviPanel, starts TomTom and register the dll.
Good Luck guys hopefully this was helpfull for you.

Awesome thanks for your help.
I am making some progress now. I was unable to even get clickiable icons in the navipanel.
After installing the cab I have clickable icons in the navipanel but when I click them I get a message apperar that says "-2147479552" All I can do is hit OK but it keeps reapperaring.
My tom tom is installed directly to the root of the storage card. When I change the path to point to my exe file all the icons in the navipanel are greyed out again.
What am I missing here?

For the case of TomTom just install TomTom on your device and not on the Storage Card.
For iGo8 verify carefully the path to your Storage Card. If you use a different language ROM the name of the Storage Card is not always the same.
Keep in mind that the config.ini file uses "/" and not "\" in the path. (it was like that and I never tried to change).
Keep also in mind that NaviPanel often stays resident, so after changes kill it with a Taskmanager or reboot your device.
If still not working try to Google the HD2 section in the forum. There is some information about iGo8. Copy the .exe and some .dll and the sys.txt out of the root of iGo8 directory and put them in the CoPilot directory, then change your sys.txt for the right paths.
i get that same number error "2455,,,,,,,"
this stuff is driving me insane
cum on robert_mass....create a step by step tuitorial....i just need to know what has to be done in directing navipanel to igo8 exe

Thanks for getting back to me.
I ended up copying the tom tom files (without the maps) to my device storage and it worked.
I have left the maps on my storage card and it still seems to work.
Thanks heaps for the help mate.
@Twilight, I think your problem will be the same as mine. Try making a Navigation folder in program files on yourt device and copy trhe igo8 files there, then change the exe name to TomTom Navigator. I reckon that will fix it (worked for me anyways)
Thanks again Robert

Ok, cool it worked for you!
Normally you install the TomTom .cab on your device (the HD2 has lots of memory) and the maps ofcourse you leave on your SD card (TomTom will find them there without any problem).

Hi all,
i need your help, is there any cab file to install Navi Panel for rom that not ship with this application. i'm using stock rom in Malaysia.
navi panel
I think it is ship on all rom, it is just hidden in de windows folder.
just copy the NaviPanel exe. from the window folder and copy it to your Windows/startmenu or window/startmenu/extra folder. Now it wil show up in Start or start/extra folder. It wil start Navipanel. Only thing is that there is no exit option to close Navipanel. I use Taskmanger to close Navipanel.
If you have tomtom running, Just make a copy of your TOMTOM folder and rename this folder "copilot ", In your "now" called copilot folder rename the navigator exe. to copilot as well. Now replace the original Copilot folder with the new tomtom- called copilot folder.
Now Navipanel and footprint will use TomTom as navigator.
It is actually missing in some ROMs, like french Orange rom.
I cannot find it in my ROM too. The device from Singapore Starhub.

could someone post the file up for those that dont have?
^_^ thanks.
I extracted navipanel.exe and some of the corresponding files found by executabilitycheck.exe, try if it works.
Unfortunately on my 1.43 french rom it doesn't display anything but a white screen in landscape and an empty messagebox. It could be the missing mui...
same here. v1.48 WWE. just white screen.
Ok, second shot. Now included all files, checked with dependency walker.

Please post a cab to install the Navi Panel. We don't have it here on the Asian ROM's..
Could anyone with running NaviPanel post the content of the Regkey to start Navipanel Service? Should be located in HKLM/Services/Naviservice.
Don't know name and content of the Naviservice key though.
I want to install the Navipanel from the scratch on a custom ROM which unfortunately doesn't have the files in it. I already downloaded the files from another thread but i am still missing the regkeys for the services and the german mui files. ATM I renamed the 0409 muis to 0407. Don't know if it works, because I cannot start the service yet. Help would be very appreciated.
Olioaglio
I would be glad if someone with german HD2 ROM (1.61/2.02)
could attach the following files for me:
alksdk.dll
aygshell.dll
coredll.dll
coredll.dll.0407.mui
htcAfe.dll
HTCNaviMgr.dll
NaviPanel.exe
NaviPanel.exe.0407.mui
NaviService.dll
NaviService.dll.0407.mui
ole32.dll
ResLoader.dll
VerInfou2.dll
All located in Windows folder. Thanks in advance.

Faaaaaaaaaantastic, it works.
Now, is there a way to install cabs to the device as well. I have tried "device" and nothing for the ASL directory, but nothing installs.
I have the Autoinstall facility on my rom but am a bit dubious to have have Autoinstall and Sashimi both working after a re-rom.

I just replaced my SASHIMI.mcsr and it does fix files installed to the device memory but for cabs installed to the storage card, I have to still select storage card and hit 'OK'. Then I have to go to the Home menu and come back to SASHIMI before SASHIMI will carry on with the next cab (in which then I have to repeat the steps for all cabs to be installed to the SC).
Anyone know what could be wrong?
I'm running: Energy.RHODCDMA.23549.Sense2.5_with_Cookie_HomeTab.Mar.20.7z
on a TP2
Me too
It seems that the "SendSpecial ("Down")" is not working and the script may be hanging on the command, or something like that. You don't see the selection change, so it could also be the "SendSpecial("Space")" not working. Either way, the "SendSpecial("LeftSoft")" just after is obviously not firing. Not sure why it's different now, but it apparently is. There used to be a "SendSpecial("CR")" instead of the "SendSpecial("Space")", so I'll try that to see if it's working again (worked in win6.1, not in win6.5). Mine's been working just fine, up till the very latest Energy ROM on my CDMA TP2.

You're right there off course
I am having no luck with the v8.0 of Sashimi. I have the Artemis ROM (WinMo v. 6.5.5).
Auto mode only installs cabs from cab/ASL folder. I replaced the Sashimi.mscr with the one posted in this thread but to no avail.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
me too,
sashimi doesnt install (not works) for new artemis v7. It install all my cabs from auto/SC to device becasue it can not move cursore down anymore..
any suggestions?
I also had a problem with cabs not auto installing onto my Storage Card, instead they were installing to My Device. I have been doing some hunting around for the solution and i think i have managed to find it. (its worked for me anyway).
Go to SASHIMI > Program > Bin, BACKUP SASHIMI.mscr and then replace with the one i have attached. I am no coder so please don't ask me about specifics, there were just some hashes added to the beginning of a couple of lines of code. Like i say it worked for me, so hopefully it will work for you Let us know if it works for you. Cheers.
I'm surprised that either of the attachments on this thread works on HD2 Leo. I found that there is a very basic problem with mortscript and all sashimi scripts will hang. Two symptoms:
1) if not in flight mode, sometimes hangs during initialisation
2) if auto install to storage card, will hang (leaving you to select the radio button and press install)
and there is no easy cure.

Hi all.
New to the forum but by reading lots of replies this looks like the place to come.
I just bought the hd2 last week and think its a fantastic phone. Having read numerous posts I decided to by the copilot 8 yesterday and install it from the alk site.
I have also found the Navipanel icon in the windows directory but my problem is this.
When I launch the Navipanel using the windows icon it does not recognise my copilot 8 software. there are no menu buttons i can press on navipanel except the dial icon.
Is there any way I can get Navipanel to recognise my copilot software, so I can use all the functions available.
Thanks in advance

come on guys someone must know about NaviPanel. is it possibly cab solution?
you need to put alksdk.dll in your windows directory and then register the Dll.
The files are in the copilot cab laurentius has put together for his RoM. uncompress the Cab and look at the xml for details.
You need to look at Laurentius Rom thread for the Cab.

Dude boosting you to top because I'm looking for a solution to this. I installed a custom Rom and have every button grayed out except PHONE. Need to know how to fix for Copilot. Also do you have that cab file? Its not on his ROM thread and by chance have you tried this yourself?
i have the same problem with custom rom icons in navipanel are grey accept the phone icon. please gif me a cab file
This problem occurs if you have CoPilot installed to your storage card. Same sh*t with the "navigate to" option in footprints. Doesn´t work. Since I uninstalled CoPilot and reinstalled it afterwards to main memory everything works fine.
NO NO if copilot install main memory the same problem on custom rom
is there anybody with do have the solution? please

hi
i just got the tomtom and bluetooth issue and i found a way for it to work!!!
this takes from everyones solution and kinda of mixes it into one.
(Please note i am a newbie to this so if this works for you like it did for me great!!!! if not then please let me know and i will try)
yes you will need the tom tom cab file
All actions are to be done on the phone only!!
1) install the tomtom cab file and select the STORAGE DEVICE only. DO NOT INSTALL ON DEVICE!!!
it should restart to complete the installation.
2) when the phone restarts it should come up with an error message the bt file is not a pocketpc file and gives you the normal error.
3) While the phone is switched on remove your memory card.
4) go to settings, application, remove programs and select the tom tom program and remove it.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE REMOVED YOUR MEMORY CARD BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE SOFTWARE.
5)The phone should then be restarted.
6) You should have now a normal phone that works and bluetooth should be fine.
7) now insert your memory card.
8) go to start, file explorer, storage card, program files, then navigator, here you need to copy the tomtom navigator exe file.
this should be the file with the tom tom logo(the one with the red hands).
copy this file, you do this by pressing on the file and hold it down.
so copy file.
9) now go back to the device memory, you just press the down arrow in the top left hand corner and select my device.
10) now select windows, start menu, programs, and copy the shortcut to this folder.
11) select the tom tom file and rename from "short cut to tomtom" to just tomtom.
12) restart the phone!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT
Now you can access the tom tom from the start menu on your phone and create a shortcut on your phone to it!!!!!
yes yes it was abit of an epic walk thru but this worked 100% for me!!!
you are welcome and thanks to this forum for the apps!!!!
please can you say if this worked or not please
To get Bluetooth working again, you just delete these 2 files then restart your phone.
BtSdkCE30.dll and BtCoreIf.dll
Or use one of the HD2 specific TT cabs that allready have the BT files removed. Works like a charm.
TT for HD2 cab please...
tomasz
Can you provide the link for TT u mentioned please?
How can I remove these two files (BtSdkCE30.dll and BtCoreIf.dll), because on my device these two files are closed by the system ??
Just rename them both, to something like BtSdkCE30old.dll and BtCoreIFold.dll...
It should do the trick

No, I can´t rename the file because they are locked by the system
Are using Total Commander or Resco Explorer? The normal File Explorer will not allow it.

How does NaviPanel work with iGO8 in Windows Mobile Phones?
I tried many times to find the right suitable way to make the navigation program iGO8 work through the NaviPanel Application in my hTC hd2 and finally I found the solution to this problem.
You should do the following steps one by one to get the best results:
1-Create a file directory under the name CoPilot in your phone memory Program files
2-Install the cab file”MSN-NaviPanel” into your phone in your memory card (this application contains the necessary files to define the Copilot navi extension in the NaviPanel. Thanks to xda-developers forum.
3-After installing the “MSN-NaviPanel”cab file you will find two files which are “config.ini” and “Copilot” and “NaviPanel” inside the CoPilot folder that you created in the Program Files.
4-Now you have to open the iGO8 folder in the Program Files and copy the following files:
sys
gpstmc.dll
iGO8.exe
5-Paste them into CoPilot folder you created.
6-Change the name of the “iGO8.exe” file into “CoPilot.exe”.
7-Make another copy of the iGO8.exe file in the same CoPilot folder and name it “splashscreen.exe”.
8-Now you have 7 files in your “CoPilot” folder.
9-Make the following changes to “config.ini” and “sys” files
Sys file >>>>
[folders]
app="Storage card\igo_folder_as_you_named_it"
config.ini file >>>>>
Path=\Program Files\iGO8\iGO8.exe
KeepAlive=on
10-Don’t run NaviPanel when you are connecting the phone to the internet while doing this operation…. Wait till you finish everything.
11-Now do the soft reset to your device.
12-Run NaviPanel and enjoy iGO8 at the same time.
Note: if you receive a message which says that you should restart installing iGO8 because of the SDcard is not original don’t be afraid, do it and restart the program.
Best Regards

There's threads and posts on this already. Basically it just launches the program for the buttons on NaviPanel.

Agree for that!
Thanks for posting.I too had the same problem figuring bis out myself.
Is it possible for an xda-developer to built a cab to make the following:
a)Create a Copilot folder
b)Copy allsdk to windows folder and
c)Making the proper key to the registry
Thanks,
yes, but I think other explanations are not enough to do the operation and there are many visitors who dont have enough knowledge about programing. It is a matter of development but not invention. My all thanks to whom participated in providing all informations about such issues.

What do u mean exactly?
Did u get this when u installed the above mentioned cabs or what?
If so i suggest modifying your sys.txt clearly specifying the correct path.
[folders]
app="Storage Card/iGO8"
I hope this helps
Moreover can a cook\chef\wizkid from xda devs replace the htc navi crap with sth that works.I would prefer music player integration, cameraand ability to choose over GPS apps. I think it would have come up to be very handy for all of us and a lot of people would donate for this.

Thanks for your answer
The name of sdcard is Storage Card in the two sys.txt (Igo and Copilot folders)
What can I do for resolve this problem ?

try first to get iGo8 working as stand alone. Check if it works when you directly execute it from sdcard.

you are trying to use igo Primo, and the folder global_cfg from content (on storage card) is missing. that's why.
the navipanel cab has made my phone unstable and keeps htc sense freezing
