Using the built in file explorer, create a shortuct to that file (Copy, and then click "create shortcut").
Rename the shortcut if you want to, and then copy it to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" using the built in file explorer.
That will make it get picked up by other program menu software.
thank you very much for the info. its working 100%..
I have a exe file on my Touch HD which is an application. It wasn't installed on my device, it was simply copied from my computer. To access the application, I currently have to go into file explorer and select the exe file.
I would like to be able to access the application from Start/Programs. Is there any way that I can make a link to my file appear in the programs list? Perhaps a new registry entry??
Thanks

Move the exe file to your programs folder manually
Edit: Sorry I just thought actually that I don't know if this will work for your device (Touch HD with WM 6.1) but it works for me with my device and my ROM.
on my Nike with 6.0 i do it by copying the exe file and paste shortcut to Start Menu/Programs

Actually you are not making a shortcut, you are copying the whole exe to the programs folder. You should actually cut and paste that way you are not having the program exe twice on your device - Save space on your internal memory.
it's .lnk file and has less than 1 KB. But thanks in advice

How does NaviPanel work with iGO8 in Windows Mobile Phones?
I tried many times to find the right suitable way to make the navigation program iGO8 work through the NaviPanel Application in my hTC hd2 and finally I found the solution to this problem.
You should do the following steps one by one to get the best results:
1-Create a file directory under the name CoPilot in your phone memory Program files
2-Install the cab file”MSN-NaviPanel” into your phone in your memory card (this application contains the necessary files to define the Copilot navi extension in the NaviPanel. Thanks to xda-developers forum.
3-After installing the “MSN-NaviPanel”cab file you will find two files which are “config.ini” and “Copilot” and “NaviPanel” inside the CoPilot folder that you created in the Program Files.
4-Now you have to open the iGO8 folder in the Program Files and copy the following files:
sys
gpstmc.dll
iGO8.exe
5-Paste them into CoPilot folder you created.
6-Change the name of the “iGO8.exe” file into “CoPilot.exe”.
7-Make another copy of the iGO8.exe file in the same CoPilot folder and name it “splashscreen.exe”.
8-Now you have 7 files in your “CoPilot” folder.
9-Make the following changes to “config.ini” and “sys” files
Sys file >>>>
[folders]
app="Storage card\igo_folder_as_you_named_it"
config.ini file >>>>>
Path=\Program Files\iGO8\iGO8.exe
KeepAlive=on
10-Don’t run NaviPanel when you are connecting the phone to the internet while doing this operation…. Wait till you finish everything.
11-Now do the soft reset to your device.
12-Run NaviPanel and enjoy iGO8 at the same time.
Note: if you receive a message which says that you should restart installing iGO8 because of the SDcard is not original don’t be afraid, do it and restart the program.
Best Regards

There's threads and posts on this already. Basically it just launches the program for the buttons on NaviPanel.

Agree for that!
Thanks for posting.I too had the same problem figuring bis out myself.
Is it possible for an xda-developer to built a cab to make the following:
a)Create a Copilot folder
b)Copy allsdk to windows folder and
c)Making the proper key to the registry
Thanks,
yes, but I think other explanations are not enough to do the operation and there are many visitors who dont have enough knowledge about programing. It is a matter of development but not invention. My all thanks to whom participated in providing all informations about such issues.

What do u mean exactly?
Did u get this when u installed the above mentioned cabs or what?
If so i suggest modifying your sys.txt clearly specifying the correct path.
[folders]
app="Storage Card/iGO8"
I hope this helps
Moreover can a cook\chef\wizkid from xda devs replace the htc navi crap with sth that works.I would prefer music player integration,cameraand ability to choose over GPS apps. I think it would have come up to be very handy for all of us and a lot of people would donate for this.

What can I do for resolve this problem ?

try first to get iGo8 working as stand alone. Check if it works when you directly execute it from sdcard.

you are trying to use igo Primo, and the folder global_cfg from content (on storage card) is missing. that's why.
the navipanel cab has made my phone unstable and keeps htc sense freezing

The below works for me.
Run the exe of the installed program from your SD Card (In my case, SASHIMI), and a shortcut will be placed automatically in the Start Menu. Now when you try to add it on one of the CHT empty quicklinks (either 1.8.5 and 2.0), you'll find it in the programs list.
Hope this helps.
I have fexploreext installed which adds additional features to the file explorer. one of which is the ability to click on any .exe and create a shortcut in the start menu without all the hassle. you can then select it to be used in CHT.
and if you still want to know how to do it manually :
- copy an .exe file
- past as shortcut in : Device/Windows/Start Menu
Go into file explorer.. find the exe.. hold it down.. in a few secs a screen appears that gives.. add to start menu... as an option go back and it should be with al lthe other programs
Thanks
Thank You all!
Ii's OK for my iGo!
