** FIXED *** [Q] APFastBoot- Flash Failure + low battery - Motorola Atrix 2

**** FIXED ****
I was able to fix my issue with a bit of very simple h/w tinkering as I've explained in my post below. Thanks for taking a look.
----------------------------------------------------------------
I ran into issues flashing my phone when during a flashing my phone ran out of juice. Now whenever I connect my charger my phone does not charge.
It is stuck on the Fastboot screen with the following error -
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
0A.72
Batter Low
Cannot Program
Connect USB
Data cable
I was trying to flash my phone back to stock ICS ROM after a bad flash earlier. I guess that if I'm able to get my battery to charge then I would be able to restart my flash to stock ROM.
How do I get my phone to charge or how can I flash the stock ROM to my phone in my current state?
Thanks
Dhanvi

*FIXED*
I have tried multiple other wall chargers and USB cables but no avail.
I was finally able to fix this issue with a bit of desperate h/w bravado. I trimmed a USB cable to expose the red and black wires and connected them to my battery and then inserted the battery into the phone. This allowed my battery to charge without going through the phone's circuits and was finally able to charge my phone enough to use RDSlite to flash a fxz onto it.
I was reading about a factory USB cable and I think I might actually build one in sometime for future such scenarios.

I was able to charge mine by powering off the screen holding vol up + down and power till boot menu shows up then normal boot and the phone will boot up so you can charge it.
If the battery is completely dead hold vol up and vol down and power and plug in charger and it will go to boot menu press normal power up and it will begin to charge. Hope I was able to help.

So i press start nothing was happening for like 10 mins it kept saying setupconnection.... So i unplugged my usb took the battery out and the phone was bricked with cellphone and computer logo so i plugged my usb and odin recoqnized my usb that yellow box was highlighted and i press start again WOW it was flashing and got my 2.1 back. u r one lucky person...same thing happened to me and i am trying to get my cappy recognized but with no luck...
Hi,
I just bought a captivate (rogers) 2h ago and was trying to put my phone ready for customization and I had the same long/no moving message under odin.
I removed the phone, and now I have the phone/warning/pc icon and nothing more.
And odin doesn't recognize it at all...
Is it bricked?

use jig...it will go in download mode and u can use Odin3 v1.7 after that
Actually I used this method (from xda) :
1. power off phone
2. remove battery.
3. plug in USB cable to computer and phone (with battery out)
4. hold Vol Up and Vol Down
5. drop in the battery while still holding the vol buttons
6. in 2 secs you'll be in download mode
And now it works!!! Thanks to adzidek!!

for this method to work, do u need ur phone to have 3 button combo working?
You guys are lucky. My phone got stuck in the factoryfs.rfs step. Now it's dead. No response to charger to power button, or 3 button combo. Nothing.
Still under warranty so I'm sending back to Samsung next week.
edit: well, I managed to get it up after struggling with my jig for a while.///

If ur phone has no signs of life...even when plugged into the wall charger, then it is hard bricked.

Do you have a self built jig (3x 100k resistors) or a USB jig?
USB jib is pretty straight forward, you simply put it in the phone's USB port and it will force the phone into download mode. Whether the phone is on or off doesn't matter. (You do need a charged battery in)

I have to say thank you so much. I have been flashing my captivate for over two years now and have soft bricked it many times but I have always been able to 3-button or buttons with USB cable recover it. Last night my brother asked me to flash his phone to CM10. I agreed to and I was shocked with ODIN failed and got stuck on setting connection. I was even more upset when nothing would put me in download mode.
I stumbled on this thread whilst waiting for radio shack to open this morning and my stock 2.2 ODIN saw the phone! Yay. Now the phone is happily running CM10. I think this is a sign anyways that I should make a JIG anyways. Third time in need of one and yet I always find the most obscure way of getting by without it. I am such a bad elec. eng. to not have make a single usb JIG.
Thank you again for posting this so long ago. And thank you XDA for (putting me in trouble but) always having the solutions to save me.
PS. The only difference in the two phones that I can tell is mine is batch 1012 and shipped stock eclair and his is 1xxx and shipped stock froyo.

I think u should take out battery... Put it out for 2-3 hours then switch it on by inserting battery.. If it nt works try to charge by external source like external battery charger and then insert it in phone and switch it on... I hope it should work !!

i prefer you to go to some samsung service center and get it checked before you harm your phone any further.and pls dont try to charge thebattery again as it might get overheated.

[Q] Possible Soft-Bricked VZW Galaxy SIII

Wife was running CleanRom 2.1 for a week or so. Yesterday she goes to wake the screen and the phone wouldn't wake by pushing any buttons. She pulled the battery and tried to boot the phone with no success. At this point we are stuck with the attached (IMG_01.jpg) image when plugging the phone into a USB port. Plug it into the wall charger and you get the same image however leaving it on this charge for a while brings IMG_02.jpg. Unplugging the phone from the cable results in no power at all to the device. This means no Download/Recovery Mode from battery only.
On to plugging into the computer. By quickly inserting the cable and pressing the keys to enter Download mode i can successfully enter Odin mode and flash files. From here i have flashed full stock images and still no full boot success.
So, next I can boot into recovery (sometimes, again only plugged in) I was able to wipe following stock odin flash. After rebooting from recovery i can see the samsung and galaxy sIII boot logos then the stock VZW 4GLTE boot animation(with sound). once i get to the language select screen and move to activation the phone shuts off and goes back to the empty battery with a circle in the center (IMG_01.jpg).
So far I have tried:
1. Different USB ports/cables - Incl. OEM (connection appears to be fine to the system either way though)
2. Flashing full stock images in odin with PASS results.
3. Ive tried to unbrick using the methods found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
Im looking for any help or suggestions on moving forward here. Overall there is no power to the device without plugging in the cable. I have tried another battery still with no power. I have thought about flashing the insecure bootloader however i have not found a way to do this in Odin if it is possible at all.
ODIN MODE (Reads as follows)
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLED
Thanks in advance for any help at all. If you share a similar problem please post as well, may help narrow down the cause and eventual fix.
With my ability to access ODIN MODE and boot to the setup screen, does this mean i have a good chance at recovery?
Looks like you might have a bad battery.
I tried another battery and that's not working.
This morning I had a green LED (charged) light. I woke the screen to the lock screen and it seemed to stay on. I couldnt get past the activation since the sim is no good. ( I had to deactivate it with vzw to activate a temp phone.) I eventually pulled the plug to see if it would hold charge but it just shut off and I wasn't able to boot up again.
The same thing happened to my first s3. You will need to get a replacement.

Sony Xperia J Bricked help

Hello,
I cant seem to start my Xperia J back up. I get three blinking led lights when trying to turn the phone on. If I hook up to wall charger I get a solid green, if I hold Vol Up, I can get Solid Blue.
When I connect to PC, I can get into Fastboot and Flashmode. I tried reflashing to stock, no luck. I cant get the phone to boot, battery is too low.
ANy ideas?
Recharge you battery on some other phone (I keep wall chargers just in case).
Do you have drivers instaled? Does Flashtool give any error?

Good Luck.

bootloop, battery low, can't use fastboot or rsdlite

I have a Photon Q with CarbonROM and TeamWin recovery I think. Someone else set things up for me so I don't know precise versions of things. It was working great for several weeks but suddenly seems to be in a boot loop. The device constantly cycles through green led on, boot logo, then black screen maybe and repeat.
I can get into bootloader screen with volup+voldown. None of the options does anything different except fastboot which I can get to also with voldown.
In fastboot I see "Battery Low" which seems to prevent me from doing any flashing either with fastboot or with RSD Lite.
I edited an xml file or use fastboot and can do operations like
"erase cache"
"reboot-bootloader" - but this sends me back into my loop
I feel as if I must charge the battery somehow. I noticed BP Tools in the bootloader options but that just goes back into the boot loop.
I have seen folks charge the battery by directly hooking up a charger to the battery, not quite ready for that.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You need to charge the device. Plug it into the wall and try to get some juice into it.
You should be able to charge from TWRP if you can make it to recovery.

Thanks! I have tried that. Left it plugged into the wall for about 24 hours or so. No luck. Still Low Battery and boot loop. Recovery fails in a similar way.
I'll try charging the battery either in another device or by hooking up power directly to the battery for 10-15 minutes.
in the first post you wrote u can boot to recovery.
so put a rom on your sd card and boot into recovery.
while your phone is hanging on the wall charger.
so you can flash the rom via recovery. it worked for me when my battery was low.

Ah, no. I can't get into recovery. It gets there but does a bootloop just like the logo screen does. Never get anywhere that I can do "anything".
I am now charging a battery from a Droid 4 that I think is the same, EB41 minus maybe a heat sensor? Hoping I can swap batteries and get into fastboot.
I have resolved this!
- used the EB41 battery from my Motorola Droid 4
- charged it to 50
- grabbed a stock image from the interwebs (hard to find actually as http://sbf.droid-developers.org/ is gone apparently) asanti_c_sprint-user-4.1.2-9.8.2Q-122_XT897_FFW-5-6-release-keys-cid9.xml
- booted up to fastboot with power+volume down
- says Battery OK
- grabbed the motorola version of fastboot. It has "Multi-Flash" which is required for the system.img.
- used the xml file inside the stock image as a guide on which fastboot commands to run on Linux
- skipped erase "userdata" because I wanted to try and save it
- see my "me-too" comment here about Multi-Flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63571551&postcount=7
Thanks all.
I had a similar problem. I could not even boot into recovery, only fastboot. I don't remember exactly how I solved it, but I seem to remember that the phone would not charge when off but charged only when left in fastboot. I managed to get enough charge to get into recovery and flash a new image.
