Wife was running CleanRom 2.1 for a week or so. Yesterday she goes to wake the screen and the phone wouldn't wake by pushing any buttons. She pulled the battery and tried to boot the phone with no success. At this point we are stuck with the attached (IMG_01.jpg) image when plugging the phone into a USB port. Plug it into the wall charger and you get the same image however leaving it on this charge for a while brings IMG_02.jpg. Unplugging the phone from the cable results in no power at all to the device. This means no Download/Recovery Mode from battery only.
On to plugging into the computer. By quickly inserting the cable and pressing the keys to enter Download mode i can successfully enter Odin mode and flash files. From here i have flashed full stock images and still no full boot success.
So, next I can boot into recovery (sometimes, again only plugged in) I was able to wipe following stock odin flash. After rebooting from recovery i can see the samsung and galaxy sIII boot logos then the stock VZW 4GLTE boot animation(with sound). once i get to the language select screen and move to activation the phone shuts off and goes back to the empty battery with a circle in the center (IMG_01.jpg).
So far I have tried:
1. Different USB ports/cables - Incl. OEM (connection appears to be fine to the system either way though)
2. Flashing full stock images in odin with PASS results.
3. Ive tried to unbrick using the methods found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
Im looking for any help or suggestions on moving forward here. Overall there is no power to the device without plugging in the cable. I have tried another battery still with no power. I have thought about flashing the insecure bootloader however i have not found a way to do this in Odin if it is possible at all.
ODIN MODE (Reads as follows)
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I535
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLED
Thanks in advance for any help at all. If you share a similar problem please post as well, may help narrow down the cause and eventual fix.
With my ability to access ODIN MODE and boot to the setup screen, does this mean i have a good chance at recovery?
Looks like you might have a bad battery.
I tried another battery and that's not working.
This morning I had a green LED (charged) light. I woke the screen to the lock screen and it seemed to stay on. I couldnt get past the activation since the sim is no good. ( I had to deactivate it with vzw to activate a temp phone.) I eventually pulled the plug to see if it would hold charge but it just shut off and I wasn't able to boot up again.
The same thing happened to my first s3. You will need to get a replacement.

I am trying to fix this infuse i had aquired. The main issue i am having is when i goto power it on it flashes the battery charging screen. the only way to get it to turn on normally or to go into recovery mode is to plug the charger into the phone when it shows the battery charging screen. no issues getting it into download (odin) mode. Has anyone else had this issue? i have replaced the battery, flashed cfw and sfw(GTG, Hemdall and MINI KIES). i have tried looking for the bootloader here on xda to flash but cant find the bootloader files.
Hey everyone,
Samsung Galaxy s5
Verizon
Fully stock as of October 10th 2015 (no sure the exact android operating system)
Not rooted or modified in any way
My wife's phone decided to kill itself yesterday. The phone worked fine in the morning then all of a sudden it stopped working. When you try to start the phone it will vibrate and nothing on screen shows up. After about 57 seconds (yes I timed it), the phone quickly displays:
ODIN: Flash read failure
ERROR: There is no pit binary
The phone then goes into a boot loop and repeats this process.
She did not approve any updates or anything, it just happened. I am assuming an app updated itself and the app was majorly corrupted and messed with the kernel?
I have tried the variety of reset options (hold power+Volume up+home screen) and it does nothing. Removing the battery and reinserting it does nothing as well. I tried to boot without the SD card and we get the same results. I can't get the phone into the menu to select recovery or anything.
When I plug the phone into my computer nothing happens. The computer does not recognize it and the phone does not respond. The phone does charge the battery, how do I know? I as well have a galaxy s5 but mine is on ATT. We swapped batteries and we could see that her phone was charging the battery.
I plugged my phone into my computer and it recognizes immediately. I can get into my phone and the SD card from the computer so that rules out the computer as a problem.
Is this hard or soft bricked?
Will a USB Jig force it to give me the download screen or recovery mode or is this thing dead?
Is there a way I can boot from the SD card even though I cant get into the recovery screen?

Sorry for the late response.
It's a strange issue. If you really have changed/flashed/updated nothing, you should first claim warranty (if still available) and send it for repair to the shop/Verzion/Samsung support.
If no warranty, then you may register on xda and ask in the Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum ...
... but if you can boot neither into download mode (Hold Volume DOWN + HOME + POWER) nor into recovery mode (Hold Volume UP + HOME + POWER), it sounds like a hard-brick.
It could also be a screen issue ... but most likely nothing you can fix yourself ... without additional hardware and/or help.
So I recommend to search for a mobile repair/support shop.
Good luck !
So i had My T-Mobile GS6 Rooted
this is the **** up
I was going to factory reset my phone & i accidentally deleted my OS i had tried to use Odin to re install the rom i had but my phone was never getting detected by any computer, i had tried to use adb sideloader to try & install it thru there but it wasn't working& also bought a OTG cable to try & install the rom from there but it wasn't able to detect it . So i thought it was my charging port because i had lost my fast charging capability before i had tried to reset my phone. I had twrp installed but my dumb ass did something that now im not able to get into twrp. Every time i try to power on my phone it loads with a white screen after a couple of minutes it shuts off. I can't get into twrp but can still get into download mode.

I replaced the charging port on it today so let me know what i can do to try to fix my phone or just let me know if its bricked
I had a similar situation. Put your phone into download, but do not enter download mode. Select cancel, quickly hit volume down, power button, and home buttom to see if you can enter into recovery. Good luck.

the thing is that i had twrp installed but my phone was not being recognized by any pc, i tried 2 different ones.
i downloaded the usb driver but odin would still not recognize my phone to flash it to stock
so i had tried to use adb sideloader to try & get a rom to have an OS back to be able to boot the phone but that never worked as well
when i was in twrp i saw that in the "mount" section there was an option for the OTG-USB
but that never did anything
I was still in twrp trying to figure out how to use the OTG to install the zip's into my phone when i went into advanced & I hit Fix Permissions.
i accidentally rebooted my phone & from then on i wasn't able to get into twrp, i ordered a usb charging port & waited for it for about 3 days (while waiting for the part i didn't use the phone)
Got the part a couple of days ago & changed the usb port but as soon as i connected the phone to the charger in a wall outlet or the pc's usb port the screen goes white after about 2 minutes it just shuts off
cant go into recovery but can go into Odin mode but even when i connect it to a pc it doesn't get recognize
my new plan is change the battery maybe it isn't holding a charge & that's why it wont let me get into recovery

It just seem to crap out while i had waited on the charging port. The period that i left the phone alone & didn't try anything because now it wont even power on with out connceting the charger but dies as soon as its unplugged
You need to let it charge first. Make it to 100% if you can.
Make sure you have properly installed samsung usb driver or better install smart switch.
Greetings!
The tab is DANY GENIUS TAB G4.
The tab was rooted with KingRoot android app and bootloader was accessed. But it got stuck in bootloader. My assumption is that I may have selected fastboot mode by mistake. But nothing happened after it, just stuck on the same bootloader screen. The battery died and tab didn't boot again in any way, nor did it showed to be charging.
One of the solutions related to charging it for a while worked to some extent as it finally showed charging screen. But upon booting up, only the LCD turned on with nothing but dark screen (no logo, nothing) - and that too only till the power button was held down. However, the bootloader was accessible. But in bootloader, nothing seemed to work. There are three options in the bootloader:
- System Recovery
- Fastboot mode
- Reboot
I tried entering system recovery but when I selected it, the tab would turn off immediately. I then tried selecting "Reboot", the tab again turned off immediately with no screen/logo or whatsoever. I did not try connecting it to PC at this point.
Could it be that ROM has been damaged? I already found and downloaded its drivers and ROM on PC. The tab hasn't booted since last time nor gets detected by PC, so I'm once again leaving its battery to be depleted for hours and try charging again. I plan to reinstall the ROM on it, if it does gets detected by PC.
My question is,
1. Is there anything else I should try first?
2. Any way to make PC detect it if it doesn't gets detected next time I boot into bootloader/flash mode?
3. Why isn't bootloader working?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here's the list of things that I tried before charging it worked:
1. Hold power button for 1 minute while on charging, as well as without charging.
2. Hold power + volume up (bootloadder combination) for 60 seconds. While on charging + without charging.
3. Connected to computer. Repeated step 2 and 1 along with it.
4. Flash a bright light on its light sensor while holding power button. Also try volume down or up button along with it. As well as on charging + without charging.
5. The charging one was actually tried before, but it only worked when I left it for about 10+ hours without charging and then to charge till the charging screen showed up on its own.
More Information:
The tab was first Factory Reset from the settings, then rooted with the KingRoot 'android app' (not PC). But since there was no SuperSU or related app automatically installed, SuperSU was installed separately. Upon installing SuperSU, a messsage appeared saying something like,"Binary not updated".
The bootloader was accessed to wipe cache partition. It took sometime so it was left alone. It rebooted normally, so assuming it was successful, it was booted into bootloader again.
It was at this point that bootloader got stuck, and I assume that it may have to do with selecting fastboot mode.
Resolved!
It's the third day, and the tab was once again left for its battery to be depleted for around 15 hours and then plugged in to charge for about an hour. It once again finally showed charging screen, but screen would turn on with no logo or anything else (same as before). Thou, before charging screen showed up, tab was removed from charging for a little while this time.
The tab was left to charge for about half an hour before charging screen showed up and then booted again. This time it booted normally and was working fine!
For those who may encounter the same problem, keep trying for at least a week before finally giving up. Here's a few suggestion that some people gave me to try:

3. Play dumb. If it's on warranty, do a warranty claim. They won't be able to tell it's rooted since it doesn't boot up and nothing works.

I wanted flash the stock ROM via Odin on pc and something went wrong (i don't know what) and now the phone shows "An error has occured while updating the device software. Use the emergency function in the Smart Switch PC software." I tried to go in the download mode but the phone "restarts" every 2 seconds when i connect it to the pc or the charger. The recovery didn't work either.
Note: The phone doesn't start even if it is not connected to the PC or to a charger.
I'm also stuck in this weird .non. bootloop
Hey, I had this problem before. The Battery maybe depleted during flashing. You have to find a way to charge it.
Try to boot into Odin warning screen or the IMEI screen, it's where the device won't reboot while your connected to a charger, then give it some time to charge until you have enough time to flash your stock ROM.
Its what I did xd, just watch out for overheating. Using a GN variant.
I solved it by holding all 3 buttons and plugging into USB, it did the whole rebooting thing as usual but I kept the buttons held for about 15/20 reboots and then it FINALLY went into download and I could flash stock rom. If important or not, I'd left it charging all night but showed no sign of life whilst it 'charged'
Something to Try!
The issue seems to be with the HOME CSC is corrupted on the latest version - Probably something by Samsung to outdo the Combo files being produced.
PLUG-IN THE PHONE to PC (NOT WALL), Press and hold POWER + VOL UP + VOL DOWN to BOOT the phone to the ODIN message screen (with the warning), not the Download Screen itself > in this Screen release all the buttons at the same time, if you do this right you should still be on that same screen. Then simply press the POWER once. This should show a Barcode IMEI Serial, etc (Then leave for 5-15 mins on USB Charge then quickly swap with a wall charger).
Then leave it to charge for normally phone charging time. Later PUT INTO ODIN MODE and retry.
I have done this 3 times on this device to make sure this is the correct way.
You might get away booting it to ODIN and trying to swap the power but unsure about that.
After this Go to GOOGLE Search on your laptop/pc > search for SAMFIRM > Put in the model and Download the Combination for J415FXXU5ASK1 and then in SAMFIRM software click Download ROM > Tick the Binary Nature box and then Flash the Combination file in the AP button of ODIN then the on that ROM go to Orange Calculator (IME) type in *#0808# on the next screen select the option with ADB and RM & DMT (normally the bottom) then select PDA on the next and then SAVE and RESET then flash the SAMSUNG ROM with the CSC, not the HOME!<< Just a NOTE! Not Responsible for bricked devices if you do this wrong! Advice only! :good:
