[Q] Paranoid android latest rom BT issue..... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Any one else having an issue with the bluetooth streaming in their car. Where the sound that plays is low and has no bass to it. I have checked the DSP setting, I have checked the sound settings and nothing. It started doing it yesterday and it also does it with my player pro and apollo. Any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it? thanks.

I have not yet found a solution, but I wanted to post that I'm having the same issue.
PA v2.54

This seemed to have happened on all cm ROMs after 11/1 or thereabouts. The bass frequency "broke" upstream and hasn't been fixed.

Poor Bluetooth Streaming Audio Quality (A2DP)

I am experiencing poor sound quality while streaming audio over bluetooth from my Captivate (Apex 9.2 w/Talon .22) to my new car. Is anyone else experiencing crackles during treble intense moments while bluetooth streaming? Is there a setting I am missing? Is this a kernel, rom, or captivate hardware problem? Is there a way to get to the bluetooth bitpool settings to change bitrate (supposedly CM7 has it set to 53 and sounds good)? Before I go crazy and flash the captivate bootloaders and switch to an official 2.3.4 rom (from an I9000) I wanted to get some opinions. Thanks for the help!
**EDIT** - Am I the only one experiencing the audio crackle issue?
gte460z,
This is an issue with most if not all Android OEM's trying to use their own propriety bluetooth drivers. The poor sound quality you are experiencing is coming from a low bitpool setting that is unchangeable using any stock based ROM/kernel. The only way I have found to get around this is to flash CM or any AOSP ROM. CM is what I use since I also use bluetooth A2DP to listen to music in my car. It makes a huge difference! I hope that was the answer you were looking for.
I am in the process of installing CM7 now. Just flashing the stock kh1 bootloaders then I am off to recovery for a nandroid backup ending with CM7 nightly 104 flash. I will report back with my findings but it sounds like this should work.
CM7 did not fix the crackles/static. Any other ideas?
**EDIT** When I check the pairing in the bluetooth settings with a long press on the device name it comes up with a check mark next to set of headphones and a check mark next to a phone meaning it is connected to stream music and phone audio. I wonder if the check mark next to the phone is setting the bitrate to the level needed for a phone call instead of music. I will test tomorrow and report back.
I have some more ideas but don't have time right now. I'll get back to you in the morning.

Alright, thats strange that CM didn't fix the problem. Something tells me the problem lies elsewhere. I have a few questions for you....
1. Do you have another phone/device that is capable of doing A2DP?
2. What is the source of your music? (Pandora, local, etc...)
3. If local what is the bitrate?
4. Does you car have an AUX jack where you could play the same media to it through that to test the quality?

[Q] Bluetooth issue

I've ran into an issue on my galaxy s3 using my jvc bluetooth car radio. I'm rooted running slimbean rom v2.6 and whenever I would use the stock music app or google play it would still play music through my phones speakers while being connected to the radio (it should stream to the car speakers). It shows the song information and all and the controls still work, but it still seems to play through the phone. The only workaround ive found is using winamp for android, but even then my headunit controls dont work and it only displays "00000 stop" on the unit instead of the song information. Is there a fix to this?
I remember having this issue on my gnex. Flashed a different ROM and it started working. I suggest AOKP.
This helped with cm10 before it got added in.
In your build.prop change
lpa.decode=false
Click to collapse
And add
lpa.use-stagefright=false
Click to collapse
I used build.prop editor in the play store to modify the lines.

yea editing the build.prop didnt work so im going to try flashing the aokp rom and see if that works.

Bluetooth issues - stuttering/skipping

Hi all,
I just got the OPO few days ago and I'm having issues with bluetooth. I use bluetooth in my car to stream music. Everything was working fine on my Nexus 5.
On the OPO i can connect without problems but when playing some music there is some strange stuttering and skipping of music...
Anyone also having this issue ?
I'm thinking this is a software bug as I found out that CM had a lot of issues with bluetooth stuttering...
Bump ?
I haven't had any issues. I've probably steamed at least 12 of audio over Bluetooth so far this week. Being CyanogenMod, I'm not sure if it supports aptx or just a2dp. Either way, no issues here.

What rom? Did you change performance settings? Installed Viper4Android? Anything not stock?
fwiw I found that V4A caused issues with certain settings (convolver enabled, clarity) if low max screen-off frequency was forced. Otherwise my BT doesn't skip at all or lag on two sets of speakers, Sony MDR-1RBT headset and a car stereo.
Does your previous phone have the same prob?

I'm now on Mahdi ROM and I have the same issue. I'm streaming via bluetooth into a FM transmitter (http://www.newpotatotech.com/TUNELINK_ANDROID/tunelink_android.html). It was working fine with my Nexus 5.
I don't think I changed anything... I will try to troubleshoot it again, but I think it must be some software bug..

Same issue here. With a tunelink FM transmitter.
I don't have any problems with a prius Bluetooth and generic chinese navigation system.

With the M8 stable rom, the Audio quality is better, the micro stutters are still there though
It's a known bug with CM11 no fix in sight as far as I could find:

Atleast we are not alone. Hope it gets fixed soon.
I also have issues with Bluetooth, I use Poweramp as my media player and have it set to autoplay when it connects to BT but when it connects, it plays a brief second and stops. I have to manually play the music.
I also noticed it only sends the first song metadata rather than change every time I play something different... Annoying.
had similar problems with both my S4 and Z1 on CM (using both since one is my private and one my business mobile) Both are now on PAC (7/10/2014) and even before that i did not have the bluetooth issues with them on PAC. try it out - there is a PAC for the One (which i will use as well when mine arrives this week (hopefully))
or try with omnirom - they use a different BT implementation

Cheers

Could you give us a link to the PAC ?
Check bacon-1005 on jira and vote it up. Cyan-4147 was reported specifically for the m7 and it's gki_Linux errors. There are some patches I'm testing to isolate the cause of the stuttering. Don't worry you all are not the only ones with the issue.

Yes got to have good bluetooth in call reception, every other rom i tried terrible.
PAC rom bluetooth quality?
Can anyone confirm that PAC rom has fixed the problem of bad quality BT audio?
I am runnig the stock CM rom - now rooted, but the problem has been there all the time since I got the phone. The sound quality is not acceptabe with my Lexus RX 450h handsfree for the outbound call audio, that is I can hear quite well, but the other person can not.
My old phone Galaxy Nexus worked just fine, so there has to be something wrong with OPO's bluetooth.
Guys user: BIOYAM
Found a fix that worked for him and for me. You can try this:
Install SetCPU (I used a free app No-frills Cpu controll) with Governor: Interactive, CPU: Max 2265MHZ & Min 652
This totally stopped my bluetooth audio issues. Of course you need to be rooted to use these tools.
Hope this helps. :good:
Problem solved!
Hey problem solved
I had bluetooth pairing and buffering problems and now everything works perfectly. what I did was flash OPO_OxygenOS_1_0-modem-flashable.zip (you can find it somewhere in google docs..don't remember the link)
anyway after doing that everything works perfectly.
I am running cyanogen 12.1 nightly build from 20150601
then I flashed the modem.

[Q] Audio drivers

I just recently installed CM12 nightly on my Oneplus and was listening to music using poweramp. once in awhile i would get some static noise so i switched to usuing the stock music player. when i use the audio FX equalizer with it, then songs would sound as if it were played by a robot. i was wondering if anyone have also had this issue and if there is a solution to this
known issue... there are many other threads for this problem.
For some people AK Kernel (087) fixed the problem. Just flashed new build and new kernel and can report tomorrow.

[Q] Audio breaks in MP3 tracks

Hi all,
I just got myself a 16GB oneplus one. It is running on Cyanogen OS version 11.0-XNPH05Q.
I got this problem, which hopefully someone has a remedy for it:
During MP3 music playbacks (no matter what MP3 player app I have installed), there is always this audio ''breaks'' in between the song. It's like the music will start to play -->break-->play.
The playback is not very smooth and it's rather irritating.
Anything I can do to remedy this?

Honestly, I would try updating your rom. CM12 fixed a lot of audio issues, and a host of others as well. In any case, a custom rom and kernel would most likely be the easiest fix. Other than that, there's probably a thread somewhere around the OPO forums related to this

Unfortunately, I have tried using CM12 (latest weekly ROM cm-12-20150308-NIGHTLY-bacon), as well as LiquidSmooth ROM 5.0.
However, the problem occurs once the headphone is plugged into the headphone jack. I am getting this audio break from youtube videos, MP3 files in internal memory, etc...
But there aren't any issues with the music playback if I am using wireless bluetooth headphones or if the music is coming out from the phone speaker itself.
I suspect this could be a hardware issue? Maybe with the headphone jack?
Hi guys,
Any remedies on my problem? And by the way, if I downgrade my phone to CM11-33R, this issue of "music glitch" will disappear. Any ROM above CM11-33R will have this issue. This occurs only for music playback through earphones. No issues through the phone loudspeakers.
And another thing is what I found out accidentally:
When this music glitch happened, I just need to play some rock music at max volume, the phone will automatically bring up the google voice search screen. And I just need to close the google voice search and the music glitch will totally go away until the next time i plug in the earphones again.
No matter what i have tried, i.e. Official lollipop, franco kernel, etc... The music glitch is still there
Thanks
