Restore stock rom from cleanROM 2.5 - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I bought a tf300t with CleanROM 2.5 installed and I would like to roll it back to a stock ROM so I can receive OTA updates etc. I have also found that having a custom ROM installed hurts rather than helps the resale value and since I am toying with selling my tf300t for a note 10.1 3g I want to get the best for my money.
Basically if there is a thread I haven't found with a n00b guide I would be grateful. I have found one for the tf300tg but not one for the tf300t. I have flashed two different tegra 2 tabs, a Hannspad and a Xoom but im still not confident with this. Especially after all the bricked tf300t threads relating to JB.

Newer SBKv2 devices and your experiences with root

My question folows as well just a bit of rambling background!!
who has rooted new devices and who has bricked them because of it being a new sbk. has anone unrooted with the method i mention or another, and anything anyone wantz to throw in about rooting new devices..
I was one of those who were anxiously waiting a way to root newer devices...i mean looking every single day for a couple months.. and along comes razorclaw (The DEVS are freakin awesome) thats what i can say for sure.
Anyway i rooted right away and i will stay this way from my experience i will get more support from my devs than a manufacturer anyday, and when asus stops supporting our devices aftet the google 18 months the devs will be our only chance for continued enhancements and future support.
ive flashed a couple roms PRIME and KRAKD and man i cant wait for an ics rom wonder who will get it out first cm9 i my best bet. i ve got files from
Unlockr - how to unroot asus transformer
to unroot and im sure it will work now of course you would have to watch what you update to cuz the new update breaks razorclaw and the ability to root. BUT i hear lots of people afraid to root newer devices ive had no problems and i understand nvflash isnt there and that sucks if something goes wrong..... however, i havent seen alot of posts pertaining to people bricking their devices (a few yes) after razorclaw.` My main question is how many people are having a good experience rooting new devices and who has bricked, also has anyone succefully unrooted with the method at unlockr. or any other method. im just really interested in looking at the chances of bricking new sbk devices. should be good as long as your careful and check everything is god before you flash it and know its meant for your device. check md5sum always and i should be good right .
i just buy my asus transformer a week ago
i rooted and all went fine
Tried the 7.1 and razorclaw, neither worked!

[Q] Root to Transformer Prime (TF201) JB stock?

Hi guys
I´m buying a second hand transformer prime.TF201 but no post it in developers forum yet
This tablet have a JB stock rom version so isn´t roted unafortunaly.
My question is: I´ts possible rooted or flashed this stock ROM or downgrade? The last I read, that only roted the ICS version, It´s true?
Thx :good:
I miss one question
How I can see if my Transformer device It´s unlocking?
If your tf201 was unlocked with the asus tool, then when it boots it will say 'bootloader unlocked' in the top left.
As far as I'm aware you cannot unlock if you upgraded to JB before unlocking, it seems to implied by the prerequisits section of:
androidroot__dot__mobi__slash__t3_nvflash/
for some reason it wont let me post urls, so you can hopefully work out the url that i mean above (t3_nvflash is one word)

[Q] Problem flashing 4.2.2/AOKP/Cyanogenmod/AOSP roms

Hey guys. Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere around here, but I have a pretty specific question that I'd like answered. I recently rooted my TF300T and installed the latest TWRP recovery. I've flashed a couple of different stock-based roms (Energy and CleanROM) without any hiccups, but when I try to flash any roms that are 4.2.2 I get bootloops. Is there something that I need to be doing different since I'm coming from 4.2.1? I never dirty flash. Thanks in advance for any help!

Maybe a bit confusing but those particular 4.2.2 ROMs use the 4.1 bootloader and won't run if you have upgraded to 4.2.1 because of the new bootloader. That's the reason that I won't be upgrading anytime soon.
Yeah, it's for 10.4 bootloader. You hace luck that you haven't been bricked yet

Not confusing at all and perfectly answers my question! Not sure how I missed that, but I'm glad that my issue isn't just some big screw-up on my part. Hopefully they'll come up with some more ROMs based on the 4.2 bootloader soon! I finally took the plunge and rooted after debating on whether or not I wanted to for several months....got tired of the lag. Too bad I can't really take full advantage of having a custom ROM with an OC kernel as of yet. I gotta say though...I'm digging this Energy ROM. Sweet looks and pretty smooth as well.

[Q] Rooted, unlocked on 4.1.1, How can I update to 4.2x?

I have a rooted and unlocked tf300t running 4.1.1 and CleanRom 2.5. After being away from the scene for awhile, I came back to see that they had released 4.2 for my device. Is it possible to update my device to 4.2 or am I stuck at 4.1.1 seeing as how I am not running an Asus firmware. I am really overwhelmed right now, and getting very frustrated. Any insight would be a tremendous help. Thank you very much for even taking the time to read my post.

I would say....
Return to stock Asus ROM v4.1
Reflash appropriate recovery...
Once stable, flash stock Asus 4.2...
Reflash appropriate recovery which will be different than 4.1 recovery.... Read the twrp thread carefully for info on this. If in doubt, there's an upgrade guide in the general section.

[Q] Questions about rooting/unlocking TF700

Hi all,
I'm new to XDA, and somewhat new to android. I have a long history of jailbreaking iDevices, so this whole concept isn't too foreign to me. I have an Asus Transformer TF700T, and I get speed hiccups way too often, and even after "repair," it still doesn't work 100%, so I decided to root and/or unlock it to run a new ROM.
Question 1: I'm aware that unlocking it will void the Asus 1 year warranty, however, I purchased a squaretrade warranty as well, and would like to know if it voids ST's warranty, and/or, will they not repair it, even for non-OS problems like physical damage?
Question 2: Once I unlock the device, I know I won't be allowed to receive OTAs, but will I still be able to update the Android firmware by downloading it on my PC and moving it onto the device? Or will I be stuck on the same firmware 'till I wipe my device or something?
Thanks

AFAIK Squaretrade does not care if you unlocked or rooted your device, they will repair/replace it regardless.
If you unlock, why would you want to run the stock rom and rely on Asus updates? Unlocking or rooting by itself will not make your tablet run any better on stock software. The benefit of unlocking is that you can run a custom rom like CROMi-X on this tablet and you won't be looking back ever!
CROMi-X unlocks the potential of this tablet and is better supported than any stock rom!
Full disclosure: Yes, I am a hopeless fanboy of CROMi-X
There are also other custom roms for this tablet like CyanogenMod or Paranoid, but IMO CROMi-X is the most stable and best supported rom for this device. Look for the thread in the Development section.
Since I own the TF700 there have been - what? Three updates to the stock rom?
CROMI and it's JB 4.2.1 successor CROMi-X have been updated - jeez, I lost count - at least 10 times??? And it gets better each time!

Enjoy! You're gonna like it
Ahhh - I sometimes wish I could go back to that point in time when I installed CROMI for the first time and ran it....
It made me giggle and laugh out loud each time trying a new task - so ridiciously much better it was...

First Root/Unlocking
Hello xda'ers, I am new to this topic and would like to migrate from stock to cromi-X. I'm currently on JB 4.2.1 and build 10.6.1.14.10. I'm also aware that going ahead with this will void my warranty as well as disable accessibility to OTAs.
Thanks

correct, cromi (along with the other roms here) are better than any Asus OTA will be Asus publish the firmware on their site anyway which is very easy to flash from a custom recovery.
